Now that’s the SuzuMinta I know and love! Everything else just pales in comparison. I didn’t even know that Cupid ni Rakurai had a sequel, so when I saw the announcement for the adaptation of it, I was ecstatic! If y’all didn’t know, Cupid ni Rakurai was one of my 2018 faves just after Sweet Delivery Boy, Nights Before Night, and the KD series. It’s not a unique concept, but the execution of it was great! Also, I just adore genki boys like Shingo and for Ao to actually be considerate of him despite his seemingly brash attitude—ugh. 😩 That being said, sequels usually only go so many ways: happy gays ultra (Gelateria Supernova), misunderstandings/insecurities featuring third party appearances (KD), or extreme undeserved pain (NBN). Seeing as SuzuMinta doesn’t go for anything plot heavy and tragic, I was pretty sure that Cupid ni Rakurai was going to go for the second route because no one really goes the first route except for smutty titles and a few light stuff. 😂 Lo and behold, it really did go into that direction. I really hate it when Captain Communication leaves the building, but since they’re still in high school, I was going to give them a chance. Surprisingly enough, it wasn’t entirely predictable, which was nice. It was a good sequel overall.

And now onto the voice work,

I’m gonna say it. I have an unhealthy crush on Shimono Hiro. 😂 If Suwabe Junichi didn’t voice Ren in UtaPri, Sho would be my bias even. HAHAHAHA. I’M SO SORRY, REN. I don’t know. Something about his nasally voice just gets me every time. It doesn’t matter what role it is, he makes me feel a lot of feelings. Complete boyfriend material right there. He doesn’t need to lower his pitch to sound sexy, too. I was on the floor during that bit where Shingo tells Ao-senpai the things he likes about him. I WANT A MAN LIKE THAT! 😭😭😭 AND OML THAT LAST ROMP ON HIS BED WHEN AO-SENPAI CAME OVER??? YO, UCHIDA MOVE OVER. KING HAS COME!!! AHAHAHAHA. I feel sorry for that bed tbh. 😂 He didn’t have to go at it that hard!

I mean, he is one of my favorite ukes and many of his BLCDs where he voices one are my favorites of all time, but yaoi gods, please, please, please cast him in more seme roles and R18 Otome CDs. 🙏

As for Masuda Toshiki—I find it peculiar that I still know his voice even though it’s been ages since I’ve heard him lead in a BLCD. I guess that just means that his voice is that distinct. 👏👏👏 He did Ao-senpai here just as well as he did him last time, which I totally expected from him because I haven’t really heard him under perform before. I wish he’d do stuff up in my alley more often. And more stuff with Shimono Hiro please because that chemistry’s to die for!!!

I didn’t want to spoil myself on what’ll happen in the sequel, so I didn’t look at the complete cast list just in case there were any third parties. Can you believe how much of a good girl I’ve been for not reading the raws until I got the BLCD??? But nothing could have prepared me for the revelation that Ono Yuuki was going to be the third party! Are we seriously doing this?! Y’all are going to make him get his heart broken?! Why would you?! Where was the need?! Of course, I was going to cheer for him and Ao! I hate you Marble. I fell right into that trap. 😂 However, I’m glad that Takeo-senpai didn’t confess or made Ao choose him because at that point, he and Ao weren’t that close yet. I loved how SuzuMinta made him just chuck those little feelings for Ao to him just being overly competitive, but it still made me a little sad. I’m so torn. Give the man a sequel! 😭😭😭

Speaking of third parties, I’m quite surprised that Kirato didn’t actually have feelings for Ao in the manga unlike the first BLCD. I haven’t really read the first volume up until yesterday, so I was surprised that Kirato didn’t act like he liked him in the second BLCD. I’m sure that I wasn’t mistaken when I listened to the first CD because it left such a huge impact on me. Hmm. Better listen to the first one again later. In any case, they did change a lot of the dialogue, but there’s nothing major. Reading it would be easy still. Also, can I just say that I wanted to see how things were going to turn out with Hodaka and Yae-chan?! Been a while since I’ve shipped a straight couple in a BLCD. 😂 Come on, SuzuMinta, you gotta give us more than a double date at some family resto. It’s a double date between Yuuji and Kirato and Hodaka and Yae-chan, change my mind. HAHAHA.

If you’re in for something light but with a twang, then I’d definitely recommend this and it’s prequel. Y’all seriously need to hear Shimono Hiro as a top—it’s a gratifying experience. 😂 This is another good example of a BLCD where the seme has a higher pitch than the uke and Shingo was actually even shorter than Ao in the first volume, so that’s two stereotypes down (even though Shingo grows taller than Ao in the second one). If anyone wants to scanlate this and wants me to help translate hmu!

L’anime tratto dal manga di Loose Boy e Iori Furuya debutterà in Giappone ad ottobre.

Pubblicati una prima locandina e un breve trailer di “Talentless Nana” (Munou na Nana), la serie animata basata sull’omonimo manga, scritto da Loose Boy e illustrato da Iori Furuya, che andrà in onda a partire da ottobre.

È l'anno 20XX. La Terra è stata assalita da mostri conosciuti come “il Nemico dell'Umanità”. 水無月の仕事など

暑熱に追い立てられるように梅雨が去ってしまいました。七月が来る前に住んでいる場所の梅雨明けを聞いたのは初めてです。陽射しこそ真夏ほどではないものの、気温の高さは尋常ではありません。いきなりの猛暑の襲来に身体が対応できませんし、先が思いやられます。今年も世界各地で猛暑に起因すると見られる山火事や、未曾有の洪水などの災害が起きていると聞きます。気候変動の影響が表われていると思えてなりません。未だ終熄しないパンデミックも示すように、テクノロジーを駆使した人間の自然界への介入が、人間に跳ね返りつつあるのは確かでしょう。太宰府天満宮の手水鉢に敷き詰められた紫陽花こうした状況を前にして、技術そのものを、そこにある自然と人間の関わりを、脆い生きものの一つとして生きていく可能性へ向けて、根底から問わなければならないはずです。このことは、現在「SDGs」のような言葉を被りながらテクノロジーを動かし…

霜月の福岡便り

早くも秋が終わろうとしていますが、今年は木々の色づきを楽しめる秋晴れの日が多かったような気がします。今月の中旬の週末に、広島の三次の尾関山公園で紅葉を見て回ったのは、よい気分転換になりました。公園の展望台から江の川と中国山地を望む風景にも味わいがあります。別の日に、用事のついでに訪れた広島市内の不動院の庭の紅葉は、ちょっとした発見でした。十六世紀から残る不動院の唐様の金堂は少し厳めしいのですが、内部をのぞくと微かに笑みをたたえた薬師如来がいました。三次の尾関山公園にて今月は、こうして広島の紅葉を見て回った以外は、福岡で講義の準備などに慌ただしい日々を送っていました。そうしたなか、ベンヤミンの言語哲学を出発点に、言葉の可能性を問う研究についてお話する機会を、二度も得られたのは幸いでした。まず11月3日の夜には、8月末に完結したEnglish Journal…

FINALLY! MARBLE RECORDS HAS RISEN FROM THE ASHES.

Damn, I’m so glad that I picked this up because I loved it! If I only knew that this actually had a manga then I would have read it too - Harudaki’s taken this up recently, so I’m really excited in reading the translated work! I made it clear in my April Releases post that I wasn’t interested in the plot when I read the synopsis but it was actually quite interesting even though it was very very light as I had initially expected.

It’s your typical boy meets boy type of plot, but what sold this work was it’s characters! First of all, big kudos to Shingo for being a such a sweetheart who’s also equally funny af. 😂 Guys like Shingo are exactly my type, that which you can manipulate and tease until they beg and cry for mercy so it was really refreshing for me to get to know a seme like him. Next we have Ao-senpai. I didn’t really pay much attention to the title so I didn’t know that his scar was lightning related. Just some random info for everyone: me and Ao have the same trauma (though mine is more of a phobia than a trauma) that’s why I became more interested in this. He’s one cool ass uke - when he realizes that the feeling’s mutual between them, he accepts it like a man and never pushes Shingo away (which is contrary to the ‘ol route these plots go). I very much appreciate how he’s so pro-active in their relationship and not afraid to take the first steps in levelling up their relationship himself - maybe he’s born with it, maybe it’s Vaseline HAHAHA. I also am glad that he’s considerate to Shingo’s wishes and so MATURE - that’s the word!

Kudos to Suzumaru Minta for this work. I think they’re new to the BL scene since most of the works I’ve seen from them have been released in 2016-2017 and this is the only one that has been picked up by a scan team (I think). I’m really looking forward to seeing more of their work in the future. Good job, sensei! 👏

Moving on to the voice work, can I just say just how much I adore Shimono Hiro? 😂

I’m pretty sure that he’s ad-libbed most of Shingo’s quirks and I’m glad that he did because it added more fun in his character. I don’t think that anyone could be more suited to play Shingo’s role other than Shimono Hiro. That and I’ve been looking forward to hearing his seme voice! Just another random fact about me is that I like guys(for r18 CDs)/semes with deep fucking ass voices (read: Suwabe Junichi, Konishi Katsuyuki, Kawahara Yoshihisa, Morikawa Toshiyuki, Yasumoto Hiroki, and etc.) AND those with high pitched younger voices (read: Ishii Kazutaka, Iguchi Yuiichi, and etc.). I knew that Shimono had what I was looking for but sadly, he doesn’t have that much r-18 and seme roles that I liked but that was quickly affirmed in this CD. PETITION FOR SHIMONO HIRO TO STAR IN MORE SEME AND R-18 ROLES PLS. Masuda Toshiki on the other hand, also did great, but I’m not really familiar with him as of yet, so I can’t say much.

SINCE WE’RE ON THE TOPIC OF CHARACTERS-

WHAT THE FUCK???

WHERE IS MY CLOSURE FOR AO’S FRIEND’S FEELINGS??? DOES HE AND THEIR OTHER FRIEND END UP TOGETHER??? DO THEY HAVE THEIR OWN STORY??? I DEMAND TO KNOW. That totally came out of nowhere! How dare they pull that out so late in the game! 😭😭😭 Wait let me add their VAs on the pair list. I’m down for a sequel! I want my happy ending! 😭😭😭

Anyway, back to the technicality of things, the sex was 👌 for fluff standards. I’M TELLING YOU SHIMONO HIRO HAS GOT THEM GOODS. So for anyone’s who’s out for a fluff-fuck-tastic CD, this is for you. I really can’t grasp how true to the manga this was ‘cause I haven’t read the raws, but I’ll be sure to update this if I ever get to read it.

Until then, I’ll say that I definitely recommend this. If you need a break from all your sadomasochism then, this is a good breather and if you’re new to the BLCD scene, this is a good ice breaker since it’s relatively easy to understand since the Japanese is a little basic. 👍
