Benophie Week 2023: Day 7
Thank you everyone who has given such positive feedback to my meagre offerings this week. Thank you @benophieweek for organising this week.
Here is my final offer, rounding off the week with some good ol' angst. Based on todays prompt, an excerpt from another modern role reversal WIP: The Road to Ruin & Beauty

“Hey, look at me.” Sophie pulled Benedict back to her, so she could look him in the eye. “I’m yours and no one can change that,” she said fiercely.
She could lose her independence, her inheritance, her freedom. But she would not lose him. She would go to hell before forsaking him.
Benedict looked back at her, tears still slipping down his cheeks.
“But Phillip Cavender can.”
He scraped something off the bedside table and presented it to her. A ring that felt ten times weightier when she wore it, regardless of the ostentatious jewel at its centre.
With bile in her stomach she took the ring, suddenly cold. She looked up to see her beautiful Benedict with cracks in his blue eyes. “And he will—it is only a matter of time.”

I think Usopp deserves to go apeshit on someone at least once. Not necessarily AT the crew but FOR the crew. Someone calling Sanji by his dead last name? He's fighting. Can't take a no from Nami and coming on WAY too fucking strong? Prepare to get socked. You dare try to re-traumatize Robin in some way? He's coming for that ass. And so on, and so on, I think he just deserves to fuck someone up!!
Alternatively, someone getting possessive/protective of Usopp. Like say they're trying something new like different clothes, or just getting ganged up on for one reason or another? Or like he's getting weirdly hit on and its clearly uncomfortable? Someone just tearing their self-esteem down hard? here comes the Usopp Protection Squad. Pull him close, protect them, fight for them. This could be anything from platonic to romantic, this guy just REALLY wants to feel important to someone and safe with them.
TATOOIST USOPP!! HEAR ME OUT OK. It starts out with him doodling on people and turns into a whole career!! His art being proudly displayed on people!! Having a whole sleeve himself and just falling in love with the career!! And like he can pierce people too, but he would really rather not since it makes him squeamish sdjfs.

So. I’ve been bouncing back and forth who Logan works with in the tattoo parlor, for the Begotten!AU.
These details may change. But I want to say (these are going to be in the background - story’s still centered on the twins and their family)...
Orange is the receptionist. (Going to leave room based on how he’s going to be characterized in canon...)
Remy is a tattooist and potentially the senior/mentor to Logan in that occupation. Probably a vampire (still not 100% on which clan he’s with.)
c!Thomas - apprentice body piercer. Probably gonna be a plain old human in this AU. Probably.
Nico - regular visitor/customer that goes there to chat Thomas up. Human, probably.
Logan - tatooist and sometimes body piercer...
Not sure yet for Emile, maybe Virgil’s employer, maybe one of Janus’s staff members... (Virgil works in security.)
Again, not focal characters (will ruin pacing/flow otherwise)... just batting things around in my head.

Thank you for sharing your tatooist! Do handpoke tattoos hurt less or more than with a gun?
In my experience stick and pokes hurt less, but I know a lot of people who say the opposite… I have like 7 stick and pokes all of which I’ve done myself though which I suspect makes them hurt less so I feel like I can’t really say with authority
