y'all im sorry but can we talk about how much of a dork conan looks like-
like our boy is out here regularly wearing suspenders & shorts combo with a red bowtie and oversized glasses. also his uncommon foreign name?? he's just ASKING to be made fun of
if you aren't familiar with the story there's No Way you'd think to take him seriously,, but somehow despite everything he's literally the coolest guy ever and Everyone loves him. like he really does live up to the "cool guy/kid" name, but no one would believe that by looks alone

Why does the darkling always looks so done in the books?😂😂
If you had lived as long as he had, then you would be too.

Unity must have felt like an alien when she woke, or like the last human being on another planet. When she went to sleep (1916 I think) no women could vote in the UK, cars existed but were the playthings of the rich, the only World War that had ever happened so far was still going on. The Roaring 20s and the full swing of the Jazz Age were still around the corner. Film was in its infancy, as an increasingly popular attraction but "talkies" let alone color film were nowhere in sight. Besides that the Hot New Entertainment technology was still radio.
And now she wakes up and it's the 21st century, to over a century of lost history. She now lives in a world where petticoats are a thing you only wear for historical reenactments and cosplay, to a whole new political climate. An entire ass second world war, the Cold War, rock music, the sexual revolution, second and third wave feminism, all these new civil rights movements rising...she was thrown from a world where all of that hadn't yet happened to a world where it's all old news. If there was a game to use We Didn't Start the Fire as bingo and you got an award for every time you had to look a reference up, she'd immediately win and sweep the board.
Unity went from movies being in their infancy, and not with live sound or color...to the internet age, to tiktok? I'd want to go right back to sleep tbh

Okay so The Star Beast was fun and I'm hyped for Wild Blue Yonder and everything but I am shattered over the new episode of Eleventh Doctor Chronicles.
Broken Hearts is some of the best dark!Doctor Expanded Universe exploration I ever consumed, and that includes The Eleventh Doctor Year Two comics. I am sobbing. I am in tears. I am broken as thoroughly as the Doctor broke Valerie Lockwood.
Me when I can't find any Broken Hearts/Curiosity Shop stan posts to reblog or fic to read to get out the angsty energy...
(fic. I'm writing fic. and yes this is an open request for reading recs)

i don’t think all yokai in rottmnt live for centuries. there was that one cat lady in the stands who visibly aged at a pace similar to splinter’s after the last twenty years. she was young in his flashback, and wrinkled during the episode’s present day.
so maybe it’s the really powerful yokai lineages that live a long time.

Day in Fandom History: April 9…
In an homage to all things mecha anime, Benson orders Mordecai and Rigby to get rid of a cassowary in the park, which turns into an epic battle over merchandising rights when the baby ducks and full-grown geese return to enlist the help of the park workers to defeat a pair of lawyers and their iron-clad contracts. “Brilliant Century Duck Crisis Special” premiered on this day, 9 Years Ago.

I'm watching s05e21: sisters and other strangers (golden girls) right now and oh my god. The Mrs Doolittle story, where Dorothy's still so clearly hung up about Gloria destroying her favourite doll!! I can't!! She's almost in tears at first until she picks herself up again & shows anger, rather than that initial sadness, because of course she does.
But what stood out to me most is that this was fifty years ago. Fifty years, and Dorothy talks about it like it happened a few months ago! We've seen this tendency before, but it's a prime example of just how hard it is for Dorothy to let things go and forgive people. Which made me think of how easily she forgives Stan of all people in several episodes and I just- oh. I can't. It's so so telling and so tragic in ways I genuinely can't put into words right now
