He only became aware of the time passing when he shifted in his chair and something in his back popped back into place, and he grunted in surprise, finally getting up to stand and stretch. The sun had slipped further down in the sky ever since he’d been in the library, and he decided to call it for the day since he did not want to have to light any candles in order to remain in the library. Besides, he had not had a meal since his earlier picnic and now that he’d emerged from the haze of reading, his stomach made that known.

“No,” Pete admitted, after the pause where it became clear the scav wasn’t going to answer their own question. “Of course not,” they soothed. “You don’t ask too many questions, do you? Well. You ask more than your eight-six counterpart, of course, but still, that’s a pretty low bar, Pete. Have you ever considered what’s beyond the radiation zone? What a scav looks like, what they sound like?”

He gently took the gun from Tom’s grasp and slung it across his own back, then staggered across the dunes, trying not to tilt too far either way to make sure he wouldn’t hurt Tom more than he already was. He settled him down under the outcropping, making sure that if he shifted, he wouldn’t hurt himself on any particularly rough or sharp spots. Then, with one final glance to make sure Tom would be okay, Mav turned and raced back to the new bubbleship.

Hello everybody and welcome to the Top Gun Fake Dating Summer Secret Santa Fic Exchange!

We are thrilled to announce this and hope you’re all as excited as we are to get this in the air. 

The theme for this exchange is fake dating! All participants will fill out the sign up form with three prompts or ideas relating to this theme with corresponding characters they’d like to see in each scenario. Each participant will be matched with another participant, and must write a fic with a minimum word count of 1,000 words. The fic must highlight at least one of the fake dating prompts they’ve received and must center around at least one character from the Top Gun universe.

As this is a fic exchange formatted like a secret santa, it’s important to keep who you’re writing for a secret! We want everyone to be surprised when they receive their gift, so it’s best to keep it under wraps. If you would like to use a beta, we’d recommend reaching out to someone who isn’t involved within the fic exchange. 

Sign ups for the exchange will begin April 20th and close April 27th, the prompts will be distributed April 28th. The deadline to finish your fic is July 4th. Due to the nature of the fest it’s important to adhere to this deadline, however if you require an extension please email the mod team at [email protected] (please include "TG Fic Exchange Extension/Change Request" in the subject line if possible).

Today is the day! Finally posting the first chapter of my icemav oblivion au :D I'm really happy with how this cover art came out actually, there's a lot of fun significance and metaphorical choices made.
