A sigil to use in spellwork to help protect Palestinian civilians from harm, and to bring in humanitarian aid.

This is *not* a replacement for your responsibility to do research so you can help us all keep this issue in the public consciousness until the Palestinian civilians are safe. Spellwork is meant to enhance your own actions or support others (D&D/gaming nerds - think bonuses to die rolls!)

Draw the sigil on a piece of paper - you can either burn the paper or put a candle/candleholder on top of it. You can also put it in a spell jar! Be craft-y!

Remember to do the "mundane" work - stay educated. Get your news from multiple sources and check against the AP (Associated Press) whenever possible to identify media bias. Elevate the voices of others, and speak out as well. I'm reminded of the story "Horton Hears a Who!" - we're all needed to be heard and to create change.

Human Rights day !

Human Rights day is celebrated every 10 December to create awareness and mobilize political will to promote respect for the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 regardless of race, colour, sex, language, gender, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, geographical location, religion, political or other opinion, nationality or social origin, property, socioeconomic or other status.

However, the promise of the UDHR, of dignity and equality in rights, has been under a sustained assault in recent years. As the world faces challenges new and ongoing – pandemics, conflicts, exploding inequalities, morally bankrupt global financial system, racism, climate change – the values, and rights enshrined in the UDHR provide guideposts for our collective actions that do not leave anyone behind.

Human rights include — among others — physical integrity rights, such as not being killed or tortured; civil rights, such as the freedoms to practice your religion and to move unrestricted in your country; and political rights, such as the freedoms to assemble without restrictions and to voice your views.

The 2022 Theme of Human Rights Day is Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All.

Me gustaría compartirles la ilustración que realicé para la ONU-DH en México de Juanita 🦋🇺🇳🦋

Juanita Alonzo es una mujer migrante e indígena Chuj de Guatemala. Llevaba más de 7 años en prisión preventiva oficiosa en Reynosa, Tamaulipas, indebidamente acusada del delito de secuestro.

El 21 de mayo fue finalmente liberada. Aún falta la reparación de acorde a los daños causados a Juanita, y que se implementen las medidas necesarias para que esto no vuelva a ocurrir.
