Maro, would you remind me again why WoTC moved away from Oblivion Ring effects (separate ETB/LTB triggers) in favor of Banishing Light style ones (a single trigger)? I was looking at the WOE card gallery and it struck me that Werefox Bodyguard would have been a neater trick if it had the old templating and since Skyclave Apparition was allowed to have it, I was wondering if the tool was still available or if the Skyclave (?)experiment(?) was badly received.
I assume it's to avoid interactions where the item never returns.

Between Reduce to Memory, Skyclave Apparition, and Angelic Ascension can we take this as a sign that White is moving into Blue's space of "destroy something of yours and give you something back in return"?
Yeah, destroying something and giving the opponent something as compensation is being defined as a white thing. Transformation will be temporary or done through auras (aka it can be undone).

So the Fair had a contest last week about “resolutions” for 2020 and card designs. White obviously had some cool answers in the form of Skyclave Apparition which is powerful enough to make me want to start building my D&T deck again. The problem for Standard was that there weren’t that many general answers. Shatter the Sky was awesome, but is it better than just Wrath of God? Probably not. Heliod is an awesome combo commander, but in Standard just got outclassed by... *checking notes* almost everything.
Does white need card draw? Maybe, maybe not, I don’t know, that’s a Commander issue. I do have a mono-white Commander deck now but regardless. I think white should get 1. more proactive protection, and 2. better combat control. Questing Beast, flying sharks, gods, whatever. I know APNAP wouldn’t change Uro triggers, but with a little graveyard hate we could be golden.
I’unno. White’s not my favorite color but I like giving it love.

They should ban Teferi and Blood Moon and Snapcaster and Tarmagoyf and Death’s Shadow and Skyclave Apparition and also most other Modern staples and the only notes are “They’re just not fun to play against :(“
