✨ - Favorite one-off character?
Victor Trevor right now, but I'm anticipating that to become Irene when we get there.
🕵️♂️ - First adaption/version that got you into Sherlock Holmes media?
Hm this is an interesting one for me. Because I definitely adored The Great Mouse Detective when I was a kid (I wanted to change my name to Basil there for a minute), but I don't think I really knew that it was a Sherlock Holmes thing. And I did read some of the stories when I was a kid, but I thought they were god awful boring back then. I also remember vaguely enjoying the Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century when it aired on tv lol. I also saw both RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies in theaters, but I went to those out of a love for RDJ, not necessarily Sherlock Holmes (though I do hold a soft spot for that adaption).
However, I was unemployed and didn't have a television, when my friend asked if I wanted to see a new show called Sherlock. I remember we sat on the floor of my apartment and watched it on a laptop sat on a dining chair in the summer of 2012. It was hot and I fell in love immediately with the BBC Sherlock adaption. And then my friend made me wait a WEEK between each episode that was out at the time. 6 WEEKS to get through series 1 and 2 lol.
So I think I've always loved Sherlock Holmes in some way or another, but the full on brain rot didn't hit until BBC Sherlock. And now here we are lol.
🎧 - What other podcasts have you listened to/recommend?
What's hilarious is I don't like True Crime genre stuff and I don't really like fiction either, so Sherlock & Co is really an outlier for me.
That said I highly recommend the following podcasts:
5 to 4 - They tear the supreme court and their shit decisions over the last century to shreds and they're hilarious while they do it.
Maintenance Phase - I fucking adore Aubrey Gordon. This whole podcast is filled with good researched information about diet culture myths and the lies we're told to encourage fatphobia.
You're Wrong About - Sarah Marshall gives wonderfully researched debunkings of popular events in the last 50 or so years and helps shed some light on the way we've culturally twisted things to fit a certain (often bigoted) perspective.
Thinking Like a Lawyer - They review everyday situations from a legal perspective. Very fun imo.
If Books Could Kill - Mike and Peter debunk those junk science and self-help books you find at the airport and they're usually pretty funny while they do it.

What's Sherlock and co? TV? Twitter? Email? I'm confused
It’s a podcast!! It’s created from the angle that John Watson is documenting his adventures in crime solving with Sherlock in the format of a true crime podcast. All the characters are played by actors so it’s best described as an audio drama. It’s been running since October and as of yesterday it’s on episode 15. It’s created by a group called Goalhanger and it just won Pod Bible’s best audio drama podcast of 2023!
For marketing/immersion, someone at Goalhanger runs a twitter account (@/DocJWatsonMD) and an email account ([email protected]). They’re both in character as John, and he does shoutouts on the podcast in character as well, so they’re doing a very good job of making him feel like a real guy.
If you’ve ever enjoyed any Sherlock Holmes media, I’d really recommend giving Sherlock & Co a listen. I’ve been describing it to people as BBC Sherlock but good. There’s still that good Sherlock and John banter, but they’re nicer to each other and clearly care about each other. Sherlock is canonically autistic (among other things) and both that and John’s PTSD are handled very well in both my and other fans’ opinions. The audience also gets to hear all the clues, and Sherlock explains a lot of his deductions, so the mystery solving feels very satisfying. The show is funny and charming, and the theme song is an absolute banger. If you do end up giving it a listen, I’d love to hear what you think!

6. Probably the 2021 Remastered Version of Lonely Boy by The Black Keys??? I don't know why, really. It just always puts me in the best mood, plus it's an awesome song to sorta walk + dance along to on your commute if you have one. You gotta crank this one up with headphones on imo (safely ofc :))!!
8. I've long been a fan of Sara Bareilles, especially her song Fairytale. My (lovely, amazing, beautiful) mother used to play her music a lot around the house when I was younger, when her songs Love Song and Brave were doing really well so I guess I have fond memories. Fairytale is cute! Funny and a little catchy too.
22. Ohh ok so I have a few two actually-- these mostly remind me of just media I like instead of specific characters but I'm going to talk about it anyways.
Sunday in London by Kids That Fly gives me really sweet Sherlock & Co. energy. It's super sunny + lighthearted so not very murder-y but it kind of reminds me of the fun Sherlock-John-Mariana dynamic that works so well in the pod.
I don't know if you're a Merlin fan but The Ends and The Means by Robby Hecht never fails to remind me of what Albion is in my head. I don't know if it's the descriptions of a king + kingdom, the soft nature vibes, or something else but whatever it is-- I eat that shit up.

Siemka :)
Dziś czuje się zdecydowanie lepiej. Zarówno psychicznie pod względem ED jak i mojej depresjo zaburzenia adaptacyjno czegoś… Fakt faktem byłam dziś bardzo spięta. Tu głowa była wychilloutowana a ciało? Napięte jak struna, niczym gotowe do skoku… Taka cisza przed burzą. Dlatego od rana szukałam sobie zajęcia. Nakarmiłam uszaki, posprzątałam w mieszkaniu, wyszorowałam ich zaplecze jedzeniowo-saniatrne i zabrałam się za siedzenie w kuchni słuchając w między czasie podcastu o mordercach xD
Spod mojej ręki wyszła skyrnikoszarlotka oraz galaretki owocowe. Wszystko fit i smaczne :)
Wydoiłam też dwa energetyki po których zaczęłam się telepać niczym rozklekotany autobus po dziurawych ulicach Łodzi 💀
Ogólnie nie chciało mi się zbytnio dziś jeść. „Najadłam się” samym siedzeniem w kuchni. Dopiero koło 15 zaczęłam odczuwać fizyczny głód. Wleciały Wege nuggetsy i surówka. Miałam jeszcze zjeść galaretkę, ale nie czuje takiej wewnętrznej potrzeby… W ogóle byłam naprawdę głodna. Burczało mi w brzuchu dosyć mocno - dawno tak nie miałam. I bałam się czy dam radę zjeść tylko to co mam na talerzu (druga taka porcja czeka na mnie w lodówce). Jednak skupiłam się mocno na czynności jedzenia i udało się! Bez większego problemu! Oczywiście miałam takie myśli by zjeść więcej i więcej - zwłaszcza, gdy poszłam pozmywać talerz… Jednak były one bardzo cichutkie :) cieszę się z tego powodu!
Generalnie znalazłam ekstra kanał na yt dziś. Nazywa się „Podróże Wojownika” i jest to kanał podróżniczy (No shit, Sherlock!), ale naprawdę na mega wysokim poziomie zarówno od strony wykonawczej jak i merytorycznej. Polecam z całego serducha.
A propo serducha…
Obczajcie jak się dziady dziś przytulają :3 w ogóle obudziła mnie dziś Ruda. A jak? Buziaczkami. Jest takie powiedzenie „Pies ci mordę lizał”… U mnie jest „Królik ci buźkę lizał!” 😂
W ogóle dziś postanowiłam zebrać wszystkie kłaki Króla Złotego oraz Króla Srebrnego, które zaczęły przypominać te krzaczory z westernów. Dygresja: kiedyś, gdy przemierzałam Hiszpanie wzdłuż i wszerz taka kula cierniowa przyczepiła mi się do skrzynki z narzędziami na naczepie. Strasznie ciężko było pozbyć się tego dziadostwa xD
No i wiecie. Wzięłam taką szczotkę do kurzu od swiffer (polecam) na długim kiju (mój autorski wynalazek), położyłam się na podłodze i zaczęłam wyłapywać futro spod łóżka. W tym samym czasie Ruda wyskakując z klatki wystraszyła Jerrego, który zaczął uciekać w popłochu co zaowocowało tym, że Rudzik też się wystraszyła i nastała ogólna panika. Wpadło to jedno z drugim pod łóżko i zaczęłam śmiać się z absurdalnej myśli. Kojarzycie tą Cliche z horrorów „Pod łóżkiem jest potwór!”? No to wyobraziłam sobie, że rodzic zagłada pod łóżko a tam Ruda xD do tego taki dramatyczny podkład muzyczny najlepiej na skrzypcach xDDD
To był dobry dzień :) byłam u notariusza i przypieczętowaliśmy sprzedaż mieszkania. Jutro będę dzwonić do pani z biura, aby umawiała notariusza na zakup domu :3

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
A Wedding of Errors - Teen Wolf, Allison/Lydia, Rated T - Wedding Planner AU and my first (and only?) Big Bang fic! It had beautiful at and I still follow the artist though it looks like the post got deleted in a blog rebrand or something.
Not a Rebound - Supergirl, Winn/James, Rated E - Post season 2 episode 1 smut I wrote to make myself feel better after they nerfed Kara/James for no reason! (we know the reason 😑)
No Time Like the Present - Young Justice, Jamie/Bart, Rated G - Short little future fic of Bart having a panic attack and Jamie helping him out. First time I wrote something and was like wow that was like writing writing!
Uninvited - Elementary, Gen Sherlock & Watson - pod together project I had to ask for a co-writer to help pinch hit this for me because I was struggling. It was strange to co-write, especially with a stranger, but it was interesting and the podficcers seemed to have fun!
ShapeShift - Teen Wolf, Stiles/Danny, Rated T - AU based on a Bollywood movie I found on Netflix and became obsessed with called Pyaar Impossible. Also a pod together project!
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Sometimes. I like that ao3 has the unread comments on your front page, so I like to keep them there so I can see them and smile at them when I'm scrolling through the suggested marked for later stuff. If someone has commented multiple times, I'll usually thank them on the most recent one rather than replying to all of them. Of course if someone asks a question I'll answer. Otherwise it depends on my mood.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I was gonna say I try not to leave fics on too an angsty note but then I remembered Garder le Silence my Harry Potter pod together that's an episode of Potterwatch during book 7. It's pretty moody all the way through.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably A Wedding of Errors. It's the only fic with an epilogue so you actually have a little time after the couple gets together. Hmm should I write more epilogues? 🤔
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I got an angry comment on Wedding saying it was a bad f/f fic because I spend too much time on the side m/m/m love triangle. Honestly that was something I was worried about and if the person had just been disappointed, I would've understood but they were just mean so fuck em.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
a little! increasingly more so last month lol some light d/s, with a lot of silliness and communication
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? nah I don't love the idea of crossovers. Usually I'd rather have a full AU
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? i don't think so?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! Wedding was translated into Russian in 2015, two years after I wrote it and the translator made a little banner for it!
😭 it is so crazy to think someone thought about my fic so much they put it in another language! I am in awe of them. Umi no Iruka you can ask anything of me. You can throw me into battle like a pokemon. I am in your debt.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Just Uninvited!
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku from My Hero Academia. I have never written a fic for them and I probably never will. It's a classic case of, if I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more. 🥺
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Hmm well I don't usually post anything unless I've finished it. I did start a series of fics for a glee rare pair but I am nOT going back to that. I have the last installment in my Winn gets fucked series like 90% done I literally just need them to fuck and I can post it. I have a couple Haven WIPs I probably won't go back to unless the hyperfixation comes back in a big way.
16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue, calling back to things earlier in the fic, estimating the word count of a story, which I didn't think was a strength but lowkeyed said it was their weakness so i guess!
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description of places blegh, coming up with events for people to do between plot points, describing how people move and gesture? I can see things so clearly in my head it's so hard to describe! it's like "and then they do the face they did in episode 6 where they were like hmnmm you know??" impossible! I should've become an artist!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I would love to if I knew the language well enough but unfortunately I'm english only. I've thrown in a few lines sparingly but I think there's definitely some cool stuff that can happen if it's used right by someone who understands the language well.
19. First fandom you wrote for? I think Jimmy Neutron? I got into fandom young lol
20. Favorite fic you've written? Whatever I'm currently working on is my favorite! I love creating so much and I'm ecstatic imagining all the scenarios and tweaking them over and over and living in their heads and surprising myself when I come up with things I didn't plan! So by that measure my favorite is my unpublished Cyrano inspired romcom but if we're going published, I of course have to go with Multivocal, my heart ❤️ or perhaps A Familiar Sound, my soul! ✨
