Film Review: Seobok (2021)
Directed by Lee Yong-Ju
This movie is kind of similar with 마녀 (Subversion & The Other One) except it’s just Seobok versus humans— and human greed (which applies to both movies).
What I like about this movie is the relationship between Gong Yoo’s character Ki-Heon with Park Bo-Gum’s Seobok. Seobok seemed to have lived with no human connection at all (even being described as not human) despite being raised and taken care of by his own mother. He was a lab rat. He was made, not born.
Ki-Heon, albeit cold at first, treated Seobok as a regular human being and not a specimen. Seobok seemed to be aware of why he was actually made— a breakthrough to immortality (a project started by a greedy old man), and a mother’s grief from losing her son. Seobok asking Ki-Heon about living and dying, and which one should he be afraid of probably made Ki-Heon conclude that the kid was much more human than anyone else.
I think the strength of this movie relied on Ki-Heon and Seobok’s relationship with each other throughout the whole movie. How these two warmed up and eventually formed a bond. I especially liked the scene where Seobok starts to call Ki-Heon “형” (older brother) and made him a 돌탑 (doltap). Scenes that adds flavor to the movie would be Seobok’s first taste of the outside world— roaming the market and asking Ki-Heon to slow down so he could look around, getting that pair of white shoes to complete his whole look, and eating four bowls of ramen for the first time. The ending disappointed me though. But Seobok allowing Ki-Heon to put him to sleep (Ki-Heon agreeing so fast to do so) and trusting him that he’d take a bullet only from him was extremely sad.
Of course, acting was superb from Gong Yoo and Park Bo-Gum. Especially Park Bo-Gum.
Over all, Seobok is a nice and entertaining film with cinematic visuals.

こんなに天気がいいのに、🦡みたいに家にこもってCSテレ朝のトッケビ(도께비)を見ています。先週末の早朝に、放送されてた最終回見たばっかりなのにw
テレ朝chは、CS放送には珍しく字幕以外に副放送で吹き替え版(しかもBSのような1時間編集ではなく完全版)を流してくれてるんです😊💕
好きなシーンだとコン・ユさんの声にするか、吹き替えの諏訪部順一さんの声にするかで悩みますねぇ😅
どっちの声もいい。諏訪部さん&コン・ユさんのタッグというと、トッケビのBOX同様📀をお取り寄せしたのでは、以前話題に上げた徐福～SEOBOK～もそうなんですよ😊🎶何度も繰り返し見たいと思ってしまう(というか見てる)ので、もうこれは📀買ってもいいかなぁと💦同じタッグでも、82年生まれキムジヨンは持ってません。映画は観に行ったけどな。
同じくコン・ユさん関連で持ってる📀の男と女は、森宮隆さんが担当されておられますが、こちらは結構激しめのゑっちシーンがあるので、諏訪部さんの尾てい骨に来る低音でなくてよか……ｹﾞﾌﾝｺﾞﾌﾝ
とはいえ、📀はそれほど買う方ではないんですね。ここ数年で買ったのは、ロシア系の映画で気に入ったのを3本ほど(去年より前の話なのと、プーチンは嫌いでもロシア文化自体は嫌いになれないので)と上記のコン・ユさん関係、吸血鬼すぐ死ぬ第1期全3巻と、あと中国関係(陳情令及び山河令のBOXと羅小黒戦記)くらいです。
このうち山河令と徐福～SEOBOK～は、お正月に🍶🍷を呑んで酔った勢いでポチっちゃいまして……届いた時に、後悔とは別の意味で頭を抱えました。ここまで読んでお気づきの方もおいでかと思いますが、山河令でも主役の片割れの温客行役の吹き替えが諏訪部さんだったんです(届く前にお試しで公式のPV見て、ビックリですよ💦)つまり届いたものが、意図してなかったのに(ここ重要)全て諏訪部さんの吹き替えられてる作品！！
直で録り貯めてあるアニメもそうでないのも、何故か好きな作品で諏訪部さんが出ておられる確率が高くて、元から好きだった作品がアニメ化される際に主役に決定(鹿楓堂よついろ日和)とか、これは出演されてないと思ってたら後々に凖レギュラー(さんかく窓の外側は夜やパラライ)とか、ゲストで決まったり(アキバ冥途戦争や裏世界ピクニック)とか。ここまで書いておいて何ですが、私それほどはガチ勢ではない筈なんです。代表作なのに、どうしても嫌で観ない作品も多々あるもん😥なのに、この遭遇率の高さが💦💦放送前にチェックして、面白そう😃🎶ってなってcast見ると大概お名前があるのw
ちなみにトッケビの場合は、たまたま📺から聞こえた声が諏訪部さんで振り返ったら、あ！コン・ユさんだーってなってそこから見始めてハマったから微妙なんですが💦💦
このままでは、ウチにある📀がほぼ諏訪部さんに侵食されてしまう気がします🤣
