there's this youtube ad that really pisses me off and i don't wanna look into it too far cause dude whatevs it may be coincidental and they chop ads to fill space all the time BUT the beginning of the ad is a cute black plus size girl in her bedroom that goes 

"wanna know a secret" (   ͡º ꒳ ͡º)"

"more than just my armpits stinks" 😈

and then it immediately cuts to a skinny white girl hiking through the woods who says the normal deodorant speal about how "that's why I use secret deodorant." and the black girl literally never comes back in the commercial, doesn't do any demonstration, she's not on the hike, she just is in the commercial to show up, say she's stinky and leave

WHY CAN'T THE WHITE GIRL SAY SHE'S STINKY DID THEY HIRE A BLACK ACTRESS JUST TO SAY SHE'S STINKY?!

Deodorant has been around since the 1910's where it was invented to help with foul odor due to natural bodily fluids. This specific brand "Secret" has been marked as the first deodorant made specifically for women in 1956 where it helped contribute to women's hygiene and hormones while showing the importance of feminism. Secret deodorant has been manufactured in Greensboro, North Carolina and in Mexico City, Mexico for decades. As a person who use this deodorant on a daily, it's actually had a positive impact on my life mainly due to the fact that it's playing its role well. When in use, I know I never have to worry about having a foul odor due to natural bodily fluids which is very much beneficial to my life. According to the Secret website, their deodorant is manufactured by Protector and Gamble which is a large company that produces many other popular body products such as Ivory soap, Olay, Old Spice, etc. Based off Protector and Gamble workers reviews, 71% of workers would rate their working environment as great due to constantly feeling welcoming and a sense of belonging.

so I'm assuming there's some kind of rule about not being able to say "vagina" in advertising but the new secret spray deodorant commercials are going to cause some real issues because someone is going to use it in the wrong spot and get injured. when you're writing ad copy never assume everyone listening understands your message, especially if it's buried under cutesy jokes.

mutuals w pit hair how do u do deodorant. ive been wanting to let mine grow but the only deodorant i like (old spice) ive never seen in spray, and i don't think it would make sense to use stick on grown-out pit hair

I hate how nothing seems to get the scent of lilacs correctly, even products that use actual lilacs! I just want the things i have to smell like the real thing
