Skin against skin, he wrapped his arms around her waist, his legs on either side of hers. She was so small, so fragile-no… not fragile. She was never fragile. How many times had she proven that to him? She was strong, resilient… perfect. His lips brushed against the smooth skin of her back, revelling in the warmth that spread from her. He heard her sigh and he squeezed her just a little tighter. Kagome was the light in his life. When she disappeared for three years, Inuyasha felt like his heart had left with her. Now that she was back, there was no way he was ever letting her out of his sight. He wanted to keep her as close to him as possible. To never lose her scent, how sweet and fresh it is. Even more now, with their newly combined scents; made his heart thud and his youkai preen. She giggled when he wrapped his entire body around her even tighter.

“You okay Inu?” her voice was soft.

“More than okay. You’re here in my arms. What else could I possibly want?”

Kagome wriggled a little closer into his embrace and sighed in contentment. This was where they were meant to be.

Happy weekend everyone! Hope everyone is doing well! In honor of @ruddcatha and her weekend of dedication (more info here regarding sending her to Ohio) here is a cute little fluffy story! Prompt and beta credit goes to my wonderful @fawn-eyed-girl!

Also, going forward due to some medical conditions and anxieties, I will discontinue my tag wall. I’m really sorry for the inconvenience but I will be continuing posting to AO3 and making banners to post here and then post the links in some discord groups I am in.

Ruddcatha is a truly kind soul and a brain to boot! The number of times she has lent a helping hand to someone in the fandom is innumerable.

As I and the baby am kind of down and out with a monster cold, I haven't managed to finish this yet, but I definitely wanted to give you a taste at least!

Miroku ignored the ringing in his peripheral attention as long as he possibly could. The embroidery on this pocket square was proving more difficult than usual, the monogram not sitting right. He'd pulled the stitches at least twice to start over.

"Miroku!" He nearly leapt out of his skin at the harsh female voice. "Pick up this phone right now. I know you're there!" It took him a moment to understand that the familiar voice was coming through his answering machine. He dropped his current piece and scrambled to get to the phone.

"Sango! Love. I'm sorry. I was distracted."

There was a harrumph on the other end. "Don't call me Love," she muttered halfheartedly. "Anyway, I need your help."

"Anything. Always."

"I need a man." Miroku was shocked into silence for a breath. FINALLY! He had been waiting years for her to… "backed out and now we're one short so… Are you listening?"

"What? Yes. Wait…"

"The date auction this weekend," she huffed, exasperation coating her tone. "We're a man short and I've called just about every eligible bachelor I know under the age of forty." But she hadn't called him!

So that meant he wasn't an eligible bachelor?

"Sango, you're calling me to find… Someone else?"

She scoffed. "Of course!" Miroku felt his heart take flight…"You're ineligible because you're donating your work." Oh.

"O-Of course. Naturally."

There was a heavy pause as though she might say something. Miroku felt like he could almost see her hesitation in his mind, a bitten lip, a held breath… But the fantasy died when she cleared her throat. "Right. So. Who can you call? At this point, he doesn't even need to be that successful, just decently handsome."

Miroku ran through a mental rolodex of his male acquaintances and customers. Many of them were married or in partnerships, so they wouldn't be eligible either.

A little desperate to come through for her, he swore he could find her someone by the end of the day. "Let me make a few calls. I'll get back to you."

"Thanks, Miroku! I knew I could count on you!" She chirped before telling him she was looking forward to hearing from him later.

His heart racing, the haberdasher let out a held breath. "Who the hell…"

"Oi, Miroku!" The sudden entrance and voice initially startled him, then a lightbulb lit in his mind. "You're all goo goo eyed and stupid looking. Just get off the phone with the fundraiser lady?"

The lightbulb flickered and went out.

Missing Black Lives Matter

There has been an ongoing discussion on this blog about how cases of missing black men, woman and children do not receive equal attention from both detectives and the media. Studies have shown that recovery efforts for missing people increases if there is a larger amount of media coverage on the missing person. However, studies also show that there is a clear racial bias in the media when it comes to covering cases of missing persons--and numerous findings have confirmed that cases of missing white people receive more media coverage than cases of missing people of color. In an effort to spread awareness about missing black women, men, and children, I have compiled a (growing) list of unsolved cases in the US involving missing black people that have been covered on this blog. Links to full write-ups and active GoFundMe pages, petitions, Facebook pages and/or flyers connected to the cases are provided as well. Please share, sign the petitions, and/or donate to the GoFundMe pages if you can. The lives of these missing black individuals and their families MATTER! They deserve justice and answers. Feel free to send me other cases that you would like to have added to the list.
