The interpretation of Rise Raph as a 'perfect responsible soft boy uwu' is so BORING I'm sorry, Raph is a rowdy adrenaline junkie with anxiety and I won't take this slander any longer

Raph secretly kept an enemy soldier in their actual literal house as a sparring partner. Raph glued his brothers together and dragged them out to fight crime. Raph once asked Leo to punch him in the face to prove he 'takes damage like a boss.' Raph tried to lift a school bus, twice. Raph offered to help his favorite wrestler beat his little brother up. When Leo suggests evacuating Bullhop, Raph says no bc the best defense is a good offense babey. Raph's idea of a 'friendly chat' with April's upstairs neighbor is to put on a black ski mask and go stand menacingly at their door. It takes Raph 10 episodes to conclude that they should MAYBE start training. Raph's plan to get a potentially priceless (and potentially FRAGILE) museum artifact is to punch a car in the middle of a busy street and also cut it in half with his brother still inside.

Raph's never met a problem he wouldn't try to punch in the face and does not know the meaning of the words 'excessive force.' He roughhouses with his bros and drags them out to fight villains and thinks any plan that doesn't involve an all-out brawl is boring and lame. He'll do anything to protect his family from harm and be a hero, but also he eats wet salami off the floor and once single-handedly destroyed a library.

I just adore how, at his core, Rise Raph is such a classic Raph—impulsive and stubborn and caring and passionate. He is a very sweet, strong, honorable guy who has a very powerful sense of personal responsibility... and he is also the exact kind of jock who throws you in the pool at a party without checking if you have your phone in your pocket first.

You know what's hilarious, if Ludinus was indeed a young man being traumatized by the end of the Calamity. Deirta Thelyss is almost certainly older than he is.

Figuring out a username is tough. So... why not outsource it ;)?

The upcoming chapters of Flipping Fate require Edge to have a username, so we figured we should open that up to y'all to decide! This is all for fun, so go buck wild! Do you want to give him the coolest, most badass username? Or perhaps you want him to be embarrassed to even type it? (Maybe his brother got into his account and changed it?)

You guys ever heard of baby races? It's when you take a bunch of babies and line them up, then you get their caretaker to call for them from the finish line. Fastest baby wins.

It's funny because (a) the babies are not aware they're in a race and are just kinda crawling around wherever they want to, and (b) the race is very slow which subverts expectations and plays off the Very Serious™ announcers quite well

But not knowing about it and being slow are totally doable in other contexts.

And for that reason I'm proposing that some Speedsters (cough cough Wally Jesse Bart Ace Avery) hold 'normal-speedster races'. (For context, 'normal-speedster' is the tongue-in-cheek name speedsters use to refer to non speedsters. Speedsters are super-speedsters, non speedsters are 'normal-speedsters'.)

I think they pick a spot and bet on which teammate gets there first. Rules are that you can't interfere or touch the contestants in any way and you cannot directly ask them to come towards you.

1: What do they think of each other’s family? And how does the family feel? Whatever good first impression Taylor’s family had of Zevran sure did get muddied a bit when they heard how he and Taylor met. He sure is different than who Cyrion imagined his daughter to end up with. But, Shianni and Soris would like him immediately because they know Taylor and they know someone like Zevran is a way better fit with her than whatever her dad thinks. Taylor is obviously entirely head over heels in love with Zev and especially when he stays after the landmeet, they’re around the alienage often. Cyrion warms up to him when he sees how happy Taylor is. Zevran doesn’t really have a choice in liking the Tabrises cause he is already part of them and he should’ve known proposing to a city elf comes with Family included. Family dynamics are odd to him cause they are super different than whatever he was used to, but it’s good and they are welcoming and they love to hear about his adventures almost as much as Taylor does.  

3: What’s their favourite thing to tease each other about? The way that Thedas’s best assassin was bested by Thedas’s least experienced grey warden and then she seduced him all the way to marriage. Exaggerating their own meet-cute and titles which is as much as a tease as a compliment. Acting like Taylor is this master of seduction who makes every enemy fall in love with her and not at all the awkward flustered elf that she is. Pretending like Zevran never oversold his own skills and he’s able to do anything, like lockpicking.  Also Zevran would lovingly tease Taylor about her wildly varying attention span. Once it’s clear a little fire won’t kill a dragon, there’s lots of quips about Taylors proneness to catch on fire.

6: Do they have pet names for each other? Do they like them? At first it’s just “(my dear) warden” and “Zev”, cause that’s what their friends call them. Zevran would refrain from starting to use petnames cause then it might be too sincere and what he’s supposed to do then. Plus, Taylor didn’t seem big on pet names anyway and other than shorter versions of names she barely calls anyone anything else. But then she and Sten start calling each other “Kadan” and maybe Taylor is actually up for a relationship and what the hell? I’m not saying Zevran would be (gasp) jealous of Sten’s Kadan nickname, I’m just saying he would start using pet names after hearing that and get real creative with them too. Taylor doesn’t speak a word Antivan which makes it easier cause even if he is sincere it won’t have any consequences yet. Taylor just assumes they’re at the nickname stage of their relationship and starts mixing in “babe” with “Zev” sometimes. She doesn’t understand the Antivan nicknames but loves them nonetheless. When they’re official/married the elaborate Antivan nicknames are still a thing. Taylor calls people “darling” now too (Zev as well as the other grey wardens) but “(my) love” is for Zev only.

7: What’s their most and least favourite thing about each other? Zevran’s favourite thing about Taylor is (everything) how thoughtful and attentive she is for people. How she doesn’t care who you are or where you’re from, she will always give you her full attention and listen and try to help and remember small things that seem unimportant but become important to her. Her hyperfocus was a little unnerving the first few times but now it’s just endearing. The least favourite thing is how she’s very much Fereldan thus lets the dog sleep on their bed. Taylor’s favourite thing about Zevran is (everything) how he’s always able to make people smile regardless of anything going on. He’s so good at reading the room and anticipating what could lighten a mood instantly. Taylor first burst of laughter after becoming a warden was when Zevran was lying on the ground begging for his life calling her a “deadly sex goddess”. The value of a smile can’t really be quantified. The least favourite thing is that he complains about the dog.

17: Do they believe in marriage? Yes. Taylor’s entire life she’s been told and shown marriage is Necessary for a happy life. So much so that she agreed to an arranged marriage with someone she didn’t even meet a few days before the actual wedding. For her it’s the logical next step in a relationship when you decide you want to be together. For Zevran, marriage was Not something he foresaw in his life. However, Taylor has already changed his life so much he might as well accept it at this point. The earring was a proposal, after all. After Taylors initial work as warden commander and Zevrans first sweep through the crows, they got married for real.

18: Would they have kids together? They would if they could. Biologically, that is. Taylor is a serial adopter and the Mom™ of the wardens already, and there’s no way she wouldn’t be the same outside of being the warden commander. And with Ferelden/Thedas being the state that it’s in, I can totally imagine Taylor and Zevran being sidetracked of whatever mission they’re doing currently in order to make sure lost kids find their families again. I haven’t thought anything specific out yet, but neither Zevran nor Taylor could ever abandon a kid in need.

so so so. like. for a long time I’ve wanted to write a transcript-based story. I love reading stage dramas and reading/writing fake scripts and I’m into anything that cuts a story down to the characters’ voices alone. but you don’t find a lot of them in the wild - I usually get my “reading transcripts” fix with podcast transcripts - so it’s become sort of a semi-frequent thing that I go hunting for books that are mainly transcripts, which you’d think would be easy to do by searching for found-footage novels

but it’s NOT, because found footage in novels includes transcripts but overwhelmingly consists of diary entries and letters, which are the VERY OPPOSITE of transcripts !!! no shade to dracula daily (dracula is, in fact, an exception to my rule) but I hate reading epistolary novels with a fiery passion. rather than trimming down all the externals, the grace and length and mood and senses of prose, into just the bare voices of the player characters in the moment, epistolary novels add LAYERS of time and disbelief between me and the subject of the story. drives me crazy !!! nothing is happening in the room with me, there’s no chance for real honesty or energy or emotional momentum !!! and if there is, then it snaps my suspension of disbelief because no one actually writes diaries or letters the way they must in epistolary novels. the intrusion of time into epistolary works smothers every sharp sensation and flattens every soft one.

I do think they can work well in small doses. letters are great for dramatic irony and demonstrating relationship dynamics. diary entries can be excellent for dramatic irony too, and fridge horror. they can serve all kinds of purposes. but the fact that most found-footage novels are primarily letter- and diary-based is soooo frustrating when those are the exact opposites of the kind of book I’m trying to find.

Good question!

So, nothing comes to mind for the general broad list of fandoms except for MHA (I won't write for Eri nor Mineta... I think most people can understand why).

I'm honestly kinda impassive on most of the characters that aren't teachers/pro heros/villains anyway, but I can't think of any others I wouldn't write atm. I'm also incredibly behind on the plot and learn most of it through word of mouth, and given that most of the blogs I follow now are Genshin oriented... I don't get much of that anymore either lol.

And as for Genshin, I won't write for any of the children (Diona, Klee, Qiqi, etc). They might appear in fics as like... background characters but they'll never be the focus and there won't be anything more than platonic/familial relationships for them.

There's a few characters like Xiangling, Xingqiu, Chongyun, Bennett, Razor, Fischl, Barbara, and Collei that I won't write for either. Personally, I don't have a problem with aging up these characters, and the ages of almost all the characters are purposefully vague in Genshin so I don't see any point in condemning people if they write for these characters. I just won't write for them because I just can't see them in any non-platonic light.

This doesn't mean I dislike any of the characters listed btw! Fischl is actually one of my favorite characters and my main on my EU account. I just wouldn't feel comfortable writing for her as anything more than like... a background character.

And tyvm! I'm glad to be back <3 I was honestly surprised I still had so many followers after like two years of nothingness JHFHJFHJG Hopefully the ones that stuck around like genshin, but I never hold it against anyone if they don't like my current content and move on. Better they go in peace than not ^^
