Ron is the biggest Hinny shipper, and I stand by it.
Prompt #15 of @hinnyfest: "Who says we can't get married now?"
Also on ff.net and AO3
"I would bloody destroy you!" Ron shouted.
All three of them were heavily drunk. It was Percy's engagement party, and Harry, Ginny, and Ron couldn't bear Percy shouting one more time at them because the flower vases weren't exactly at the centre of the table or something like that. Also, the songs were dreadful.
"Oh, yeah? I would crush you to pieces!" Ginny countered.
Hermione left early with her parents. And now, the three of them were at the Burrow's dinner table.
"No fucking way!"
Ginny and Ron were arguing. About what, Harry had long forgotten.
"I'll beat you so bloody bad that you won't get out of bed for days!"
Harry downed the rest of the firewhiskey and slammed the bottle down on the table, startling both of them.
"Ask Harry!" Ginny told Ron.
Ron nodded vigorously and asked, "So, who do you reckon, Harry?"
Harry rubbed the back of his neck, not knowing how to tell them he wasn't following their shouting match.
Ginny saw his confused look and explained in a far sweeter tone than she used on Ron, "Ron and I are arguing about who knows you better. Tell him that it's me, Harry." She looked at him expectantly with heavy-lidded eyes.
"Like hell it is!" Ron slammed a fist on the table, looking at Harry. "He's my best friend!"
"And he's my fiancé!"
Harry was sure they knew him almost the same amount, though Ginny might have an edge.
"Ok, how old was he when he first had ice cream?" Ron asked, looking at Ginny with determination.
Ginny's expression matched her brother's. "Seven. You have to be better than that, Ron."
Chocolate, he thought fondly. Charles from school was always friendly to him. On his birthday, Charles’ parents brought ice cream to school, and Charles distributed it to the whole class. He remembered to give him his ice cream away from Dudley.
"What was the first thing Tonks got Harry?" She smirked, knowing that Ron wouldn't know this.
Ron smirked back, and Ginny's smile faltered. She thought he wouldn't know this. "A toy Hippogriff. Harry was three months old."
Sirius told him this. He was surprised that Tonks knew him as a baby.
Ginny's jaw dropped. "How the fuck do you know?"
"Sirius told Harry. Harry told me. What did Harry call it?"
"Giff!" She shouted back at him, frustrated.
She didn't have to think about her next question. "What does Harry think about those horrid orange posters in your bedroom?"
"He thinks they're hideous." Harry turned to Ron to try to deny it, even though he knew it was spot on.
Ron shook his head at him and said, "You're just too good to say so."
Harry relaxed back in his chair now that it was settled.
"When will Harry be made Deputy Head Auror?" Ron leaned back in his chair too. This was classified.
Ginny grinned proudly at Harry. "The first of September."
"Harry!" Ron turned on him. "That's classified!"
"Not to Ginny, it isn't," he smiled.
"It's your fault," Ron accused her playfully.
"I hate you too, Ron."
Ginny took a sip and asked, "When are we getting married?"
"December 18th."
"Nuh-uh," Ginny wagged a finger. "16th."
Harry looked at Ron apologetically. "We wanted two more days for the honeymoon. We haven't told anyone yet."
Ron grumbled that he was mad that his sister and his best friend didn't tell him, the person who was the most excited about their wedding.
"Who says we can't get married now?" He heard Harry telling Ginny.
"Yes!" He beamed.
"You just want me to be wrong," she accused.
"No," he frowned. "It's not because of that. I know you two wanted to get married since before you started dating - "
"Exaggeration," Harry and Ginny said at the same time.
He waved them off, and barrelled on, "Besides, I know you're frustrated with all the wedding planning. I'll be your witness." He reached for both of their hands and held them in his.
"That's an idea," Ginny said, after a moment.
Before their drunk selves could actually get up to go to an official, they heard Molly calling for them.
They quickly shot up, and Harry reached for the hangover potions in his pockets, Ginny charmed away the smell and cleaned the table, and Ron disposed of the bottles, and both he and Harry moved around the room to get rid of any other evidence of them drinking. Ginny moved towards one of the cupboards to make a show of searching for the cutlery that her mother had sent them for in the first place.
They did this so swiftly and in tandem that, to an onlooker, they had been practising this for years.
As Molly started scolding them for not being fast enough, Harry and Ginny thought that maybe Ron was onto something.

Like Himny fandom hasn't dealt with all the shit thrown at romione. --- Strongly disagree! Like a lot of people passionately hate Ginny, just like Ron
I think Romione deals with more shit bcz non canon shippers are more threatened by it than they are by Hinny. Go on r/HPharmony sub you will see they hate Romione with burning passion but kind of neutral about Hinny. Same with Dramione snamione and all those rubbish. They all hate Romione.
But I know many drarry shippers who adore Hinny in canon.
It's just ppl who ship Hermione with others feel more threatened by Ron as Romione is the most developed canon relationship and Ron plays the most important part in Hermione's development as a character. JKR said 'Hermione learned to loosen up due to influence of Ron. She learned there's more to life than study and it helped her grow'. Now whenever Ron is present and in character Hermione wouldn't look twice at their preferred male character. Ffs she rejected an international quidditch star's invitation to clear dust with Ron of an old house. So those shippers hate Ron and Romione so much. They can't digest Hermione has eyes only for Ron and they complement each other so brilliantly.
With Hinny it only happened in 6th and 7th books. So if you ignore it, it won't be that much of a problem.
Another thing. Non canon shippers see Hermione as a trophy to be won by the most worthy candidate. They can't digest that 'low life poor Weasley with red hair' got the biggest trophy in the series when she was supposed to be a sex trophy of Draco, Harry, Snape, Tom riddle etc. With Harry ships people see Harry as the hero thus entitled to all the women in the series and Ginny being one of them. That's why Romione gets more hate than Hinny.

Do you think Hermione would be jealous of Ginny after the war for becoming Harry's "main girl"? (i mean Ginny was already that starting from HBP..but yk what I mean)
Because I'm sort of divided. On one head, Hermione can absolutely be jealous and resentful when she wants to be, so there's possibility. But on the other hand, she was the biggest Hinny shipper in books and she didn't seem to have a problem of them being close in HBP. She also has her own life after the war, not to mention she'd focus on her own relationship with Ron.. so idk🤔
Noooo, I really don't think Hermione would be jealous of Ginny over that. That girl was rooting for those crazy kids throughout! I think Hermione and Ginny's relationship would have other tensions (to be explored in Beasts if you're reading... did someone say… shameless promo?). Honestly, though, I think a big part of her would be a bit relieved Harry was back with Gin so he wouldn't feel left out now her and Ron have finally properly got together. Like phew ok Ginny you're up! He's all yours! I could never handle his strops anyway! I'll be upstairs with your brother if you need me. Have fun lads be safe now

Something that I have noticed a lot is that dedicated Hinny authors have a very high opinion of Sirius. I also have noticed that newer Hinny shippers tend to be more positive of Ron and more neutral towards she-who-must-not-be-named compared to the past.
I also noticed that she-who-must-not-be-named fans tend to be more glorifying of Remus and more positive towards Snape, while also being more negative towards Sirius.
I love Ron and Sirius. I cannot describe to you all how much I love them. I have always loved them from the moment I have read the series when it first came out.
Ron is to Harry what James was to Sirius.
The parallels are just so uncanny and amazing. I love them both so much.
I was never the biggest fan of Hermione. Even as a kid, she rubbed me the wrong way. I remember thinking she was annoying and I’d never be friends with her in real life. She mothered Ron and Harry in a very condescending way. As an adult, I’ve liked her even less, personally knowing people like her and being very turned off. I like laughter and fun people in my life. Not know-it-alls who are rude and very much my way is the right way.
I’ve always liked Remus. But I think in recent years, as an adult, I’ve become more critical of him. He’s very different in the way he approaches Harry than Sirius. Remus is so standoffish and not at all welcoming yet he named Harry godfather. I think there’s a bit of a delusion with Remus when it comes to Harry. I think Remus thought he was Remus to Harry, but he was actually just Lupin. That’s very sad, in my opinion.
It was very satisfying to me when in Brumous Harry made the switch from Lupin to Remus. It was something I wanted to see in the books but never really did. While Remus is still slightly standoffish towards Harry in Brumous, their relationship will really shine in Precipice as they both make that huge hurtle. I think godfather Harry will make more sense and be more fulfilling in this series than in canon. Or, at least, I hope so.

I’m loving Seeking you!! But hating James so far, it feels very wrong 😂
I’m sure he has his reasons but my god he is the biggest Hinny shipper around usually!!!
Out of interest in this universe how close were Harry and Ginny in school/during the holidays?
Waait, writing a James that's disliked is very wrong for me as well! 😂 Hopefully he will make sense later!
I'm glad you are enjoying it!
Oh, Harry and Ginny are close enough that they feel comfortable chatting with each other, very good friends though not like Harry is with Ron and Hermione (that's a dynamic I'd never change).
There have been hints that they've spent most of the 1996 summer together, that Harry covered for Ginny when she was dating Michael; they will keep mentioning their moments together at school and there are a few flashbacks across the fic! I can't wait to get to that very frosty night that Ginny has mentioned before as the night she gave up on Harry...

SCULLY!!! After reading ch. 26, Harry popped in my mind and I was wondering what had been going on with our boy—it was such a delight to get to see him in ch. 27! It honestly just made me wonder about how even more! Can we get some more info on what the year has been like for Harry off-screen and (if not too spoilery) what could be coming for him?
Ooooh, Harry James! We miss you and wish you were here, but we're so glad you're off in London Living Your Life™ and (hopefully) healing from what you just went through.
I see Harry this last year just letting things ride. Like, he has work that he's passionate about, but other than that he's not getting too spun up about anything. He's giving himself a break. So he's been seeing Oliver Wood and probably "seeing" a few other people too, but he's not getting serious about anyone. Partly he feels like he if he's in a relationship it should be with Ginny, but mostly it's just that he doesn't want the emotional obligation. He's just so burnt out, you know? Blvnk art's drawings of Harry from just post-battle, when he's skinny and his head is almost shaved, are to my mind such a perfect representation of him during this time period. Although he is coming back, but slowly and at his own pace (for once).
And I think he's enjoying himself most of the time. He's living at Grimmauld with Ron and Annika (whom he really likes), playing in a ministry Quidditch league, getting regular--erm--physical attention from his various hookups. Things are good! Low key. Although he really does miss Hermione and worry about her. He knows exactly what she went through during the war and wants her to attain the happiness or at least equilibrium he and Ron have. He's annoyed at Theo and Draco for the way she's been all over the place this year. He'll have words with each of them the next time he sees them, which will mortify both of them, because they both agree and feel guilt over this too.
His biggest concern/dark spot is Ginny. He feels a huge sense of failure over their relationship, even though he continues to think he's done the right thing for right now. He knows he wouldn't be good for her in his current state, but he's not joking when he tells Hermione he's worried he's screwed something up that's not fixable. I'm a pretty die-hard Hinny shipper most days, (once in a blue moon I have a Harmony or Drarry hankering and CERTAIN PEOPLE cough provocative envy cough can make me ship Hansy) so I do see them working it out somewhere down the line. Although, Ginny mos def needs to go out and sample the world as a professional Quidditch player before she settles down with anyone.
So yeah, that's where he is. And now we have another long-ass Falling Dark character study, when I meant to just jot a few things lol. But thank you for this ask, my dear. I love talking about character backstories and Harry's is always so interesting.

Besides Ron, which of Ginny’s brothers is the biggest Hinny shipper? Why
Which of the Weasley brothers besides Ron is closest with Harry and likes him the most? Which one is the least close and likes him the least?
Do you think Harry or Ginny thinks/dreams more about their future family together?
Hi, Anon,
I think Charlie. He has a soft spot for Harry.
Um... I think the twins, maybe George more so than Fred. Least would be Percy -- they just don't have anything in common.
Yes.

Hinny shippers and romione
Note: if you start reading this, you have to finish it, especially if you want to comment or reblog.
It had never dawned on me until recently that a significant amount of hinny shippers doesn't seem to be particularly fond of romione (at least this is the impression I got). Which I have to admit surprised me a little because with all the crazy non-canon ships this fandom has, canon shippers always stuck together in my head.
Now, as the biggest nerd on this planet and a hardcore hinny shipper who always liked romione, I feel like I'm qualified and impartial enough to take up the challenge of analyzing where this dislike for romione in hinny shippers comes from. Even if I'm sure not all the hinny shippers who don't like romione will identify with all the points.
I believe there are different angles on this matter that we have to discuss.
The differences between hinny and romione
An inevitable factor to take into consideration is that we are talking about the taste of people who are very into hinny. Therefore I consider it essential to highlight the differences between these two ships.
What we know about hinny and romione from the books
The books are written from Harry's point of view (it's slightly more complex but I'm simplifying) which means that we have inside information on hinny.
We know how they behave when they are alone, we have extremely emotionally intimate moments between them, we know why they are appealing to each other, they are always described in hyper poetic ways because we have the opportunity of getting into Harry's feelings. Understanding the reasons why they are a perfect fit is not that hard.
For the same reason, we don't know a thing about romione as a couple.
We don't know how they behave when they are alone, how they make each other feel on an intimate level, you can make suppositions, sure, and there are nice moments between them, but you don't actually know, which considering that they are not the two most compatible people on earth, at least on paper, can make a lot of people struggling in imagining them in a relationship.
If maybe having them get together sooner would have solved the issue because Harry would have been presented with them as an actual couple, this possibility was destroyed by the plot necessity of them getting together at the very end of the series.
In short, we know why Harry and Ginny love each other, we know why they are in for the long haul, with Ron and Hermione you lack all the answers to the whys that are not speculation, even if usually supported by canon material.
The different narratives that hinny and romione portray
Stating that hinny and romione have completely different dynamics seems like using a euphemism. They are like night and day. As a writer, I actually appreciate it but it's also true that some dynamics are more emotionally appealing than others depending on well, personal taste, life experience, therefore is not really surprising that someone would have a clear favorite between these two couples.
Harry and Ginny have a soulmates dynamic. They are presented as characters who were always meant for each other, had an instant connection, and were kept separate by lack of knowledge of each other/external factors/previous misconceptions. It's never about them not getting along or not being compatible until a certain point in time. It's always about them not having time to talk/spend together, being distracted by various traumas and life-threatening situations, and so on. There are also certain passages in the books that bring up this symbolism of a love that defeats death and logic. They are the ones that can read each other minds and who find peace in one another, the ones that even when jealous of each other treat the other with such grace. This is not the first time I bring this up in my posts and it probably deserves its analysis but this is not what we are doing right now. To make it short: hinny is built on the "it's always been you" trope. Which is pretty much the textbook technique to create a soulmates dynamic. If you don't see it and don't trust my opinion, trust JKR's one seeing that she wrote them and called them soulmates on more than one occasion, if you don't trust her then trust Harry who chose life over death to build a family with Ginny.
On the other side, we have Ron and Hermione. They have known each other and been best friends since age eleven and yet it took them seven years and a war to get together. Insecurities, inability to open up to each other, petty jealousy is what kept them apart. They were kept apart by themselves. They had to go through all the life experiences we see in the books to actually be a good fit for one another. This is a very short explanation of why Ron and Hermione are not soulmates. You can argue with me about terries hunting otters all day long if you want, but it doesn't change the fact that they are not presented as soulmates. What comes out of the books is two people who shaped each other and who were shaped by what they went through into the right partner for the other one. A good exercise to understand if two characters are written as soulmates is putting them in an alternate universe where their lives are different. If you do that you'll realize that Ron and Hermione could have easily not ended up together [depending on your consideration of TCC this could be explicitly canon; I do not consider TCC canon]. I do think that in every scenario in which they are at school together (unless you consider wrong sortings) and they have their canon childhoods, they end up dating because they were always attracted to each other, but I don't know if they would end up married in all of them.
Now, of course there's beauty in both narratives, at least in my opinion, but if you are particularly fond of one you might not be too big on the other.
Ron and Hermione could be your parents or your bestfriend's parents, Harry and Ginny are that type of couple you meet maybe once in your life with those crazy stories like "we met and three months later we were married, now we have been together for forty years".
Added note, because apparently, it's not as obvious as I thought: When I'm talking about soulmates, I'm referring to the romantic matching souls that always end up finding each other. A concept present in a lot of pagan beliefs. And not to the overused by the mainstream media version of two people simply being a good romantic match.
The perception of Hermione
I don't think it necessary to explain that the perception of a character in a ship can influence the perception of the ship itself.
Hermione in the books
The thing about people who produce/enjoy content on canon ships is that they are probably very into canon. They know the characters really well, can analyze them and all that. With this in mind, Hermione is a very useful character in the books in terms of plot, she moves the plot on a lot, so regardless of what unpleasant behavior she may have during the books she always compensates with being useful. The moment people think about her a bit more though, maybe they try to put her in another context for a story they want to write, they are left to contemplate only her personality and often end up realizing they don't find her so pleasant. As someone who views Hermione as a version of herself stripped away from a lot of her favorite qualities of herself, I know where they are coming from. Every time I read about people having Hermione as their favorite character, I get very skeptical about their perception of canon because I know from first-hand experience that Hermione is someone that very few people would want around.
Opinions on Ron and how Hermione treats him
As far as I'm aware, Ron is very beloved in the hinny fandom. He's closer in personality to Harry and Ginny after all. I don't think there's a single hinny shipper out there that will tell you that they don't like romione because Hermione deserves better. On the other hand, there will be someone who will tell you that Ron deserves better. Considering that we are talking about people obsessed over a ship like hinny where respect and grace are on the front line and Hermione sent bloody canaries to eat Ron alive, it's not that crazy.
Hermione in the movies and that disgusting borderline incestuous ship
If you were already someone who wasn't too fond of Hermione in the books, I have a feeling the movies didn't really improve your opinion. If Hermione's character in the books holds a certain value with not being presented as perfect but an actual human being with flaws, Hermione in the movies is what it's commonly known as a Mary Sue. This was not only an insult to feminism but an excellent way of making Hermione unbearable to the people who happen to actually enjoy the books.
Add to all of this that Kloves, who probably never had a friend of the opposite gender in his entire life, decided to push his harmi*ne propaganda in the movies while simultaneously destroying Ginny and hinny not only in the storyline of the movies but in the perception of all those people who never read the books, and the dislike of Hermione from hinny shippers isn't that inconceivable. In this case, instead of being logical it's purely an emotional reaction due to exasperation.
Conclusion
If the nature of these two couples inevitably brings the reader to pick a favorite, I believe what ultimately produces the dislike of the ship in some hinny shippers is the dislike of Hermione.
Personal opinion
As I stated more than once during this analysis I enjoy romione as a pairing and to be completely honest I argued on more than one occasion both on the Internet and in real life to defend them.
I'd dare say that JKR wouldn't be so objective if she had to do this same analysis.
Final note, please read
Hinny and romione are two valid ships and in this godforsaken fandom where people are shipping decent characters with death eaters, we canon shippers should honestly stick together.
It's absolutely normal to like hinny or romione more, being two very different ships I find it hard to believe that someone could like them equally.
Of course, if you don't like one of these ships it's fine, just don't go mental shipping one of these four characters with adults or pathetic human beings like Malfoy ;D .
And not liking a positive character is fine too as long as you are respectful about it and have reasons for it that don't steam down to things like sexism (like it often happens with Ginny) or classism (like it often happens with Ron).
I hope this post won't start some war between hinny and romione shippers, not that I think my blog is that relevant but I'd like to specify just in case.
That said, I'm pretty sure there are more romione shippers who don't like hinny anyway.

Defending Harmione part 3!
I'm back to defend my fav ship!
I have a part 1 where I debunked some of the most popular arguments against Harmione and in part 2 I debunked the "siblings" argument. Time for part 3! This one is going to be about a video on YouTube titled "Why Harry and Hermione Wouldn't Work - Harry Potter Video Essay" and I'll go over the points the YouTuber made and try my best to debunk them. 💘
Also, I accept that there's still a few minor flaws to the ship, but these little flaws and obstacles make every ship beautiful. 🥀
1. "It would be too cliche. The hero gets the smartest and prettiest girl as a trophy."
This is a fair argument to the whole story itself, but it doesn't defeat the ship in any way. If you put it in other words: "Harry and Hermione wouldn't work together because they're both very powerful and great and that would make it very cliche." That's silly. But even that isn't right. The situation isn't exactly how people make it seem.
Hermione isn't the all-perfect girl, the most beautiful, the most intelligent, everything perfect. She has flaws, many flaws (which weren't portrayed in the movies) and she is a very realistic character. She is intelligent and productive, she is a perfectionist in a way, but that also causes her to be very anxious and stressed out at moments, she puts too much pressure on herself, and she's also insecure! Who said Hermione was the most beautiful one? Just because Emma Watson was gorgeous doesn't mean Hermione was too. Of course, Harry thought she was pretty according to OotP, but it's clearly stated in the books that she wasn't the prettiest girl in the series. Fleur, Cho and even Ginny were much more beautiful. Hermione is NOT the perfect superstar.
You might say that even if she's not perfect, she's still the female lead. But the actual "cliche" part is about the hero ending up with the perfect superstar and not necessarily with the other lead hero.
So back to Hermione being the brightest witch of her age. But her being very bright and powerful doesn't make her a bad match for Harry. Ginny was very smart in fact, she was beautiful and funny, very sassy and confident. Why isn't she considered as a trophy for Harry?
The point is, NO, Hermione is NOT a perfect all-star and their relationship wouldn't even have to be built on the hero and the heroine being perfect, their relationship would be built on trust and loyalty.
2. "Harry and Hermione's relationship prove that a male and a female can be friends without having a romantic relationship, so we shouldn't ruin that."
Yes, it's truly a beautiful demonstration that a male and a female can be best friends, but this says nothing that's actually against the ship, just like the previous one. If you put this in other words, it would sound like this: "Harry and Hermione were amazing best friends so they can't date." I understand that their friendship was amazing, but that in no way means their relationship would be bad. Of course, you don't have to see their relationship as romantic just because they were good friends, you can see it as platonic, but I'm just saying that the argument makes no sense.
Besides, was Hermione really the only female friend Harry had? What about Luna? What about Ginny (if you consider Harry and Hermione start dating and Ginny remains a friend, she was clearly very included after OoTP)? What about Ron's friendship with Hermione? What about Ron and Luna's friendship? What about Neville and Luna's friendship? What about Harry's quidditch teammates (Alicia, Katie, Angelina)? Why does everyone always make it seem like Hermione was the only female friend he had? Surely she was his only BEST friend but then Ron and Hermione were best friends too...
3. "It ruins the dynamic of the story. Harry's relationships were never meant to be the main focus, just a demonstration of his maturity. While Ron and Hermione's relationship developing in the background is nice to see."
I really didn't want to drag Romione into this because it's my second favorite ship from the entire Harry Potter universe. Just a disclaimer that anything I say here is not meant to bash Romione and hate on it because I'm truly a big fan of them and their love is undeniable.
I also mention Ginny and Harry's relationship in this and I have to say they're ALSO one of my favorite ships in the entire hp universe so no hate to them either. 🥺
Okay, so, basically every point he made in his video was about the story and not their actual relationship. The title is wrong, this doesn't show why Harry and Hermione wouldn't work, he's just saying how it would change the storyline. But I think we are all already aware that Harry and Hermione getting together would change a lot in the story. But I'll go over it anyways.
First of all, I don't entirely agree that Harry's relationships weren't the main focus, I mean half of the half-blood prince was about him developing feelings for Ginny-
But anyways, if Harry and Hermione were going to end up together, it would still happen in a similar way. We have all read the beautiful moments they shared together throughout the books, and those would've been enough for them to develop their feelings, but just not realize it until the last 2 books. We wouldn't have to add in any scenes that would change the story massively to lead them to falling in love, honestly, we had enough already in the books. So the only thing that would change would be probably Harry not developing feelings for Ginny, but instead slowly realizing his feelings for Hermione. Simple!
And as for Romione, I agree, the slowburn was beautiful, but we could've had the same thing, same development but as a friendship! Ron's character arc is one of my favorite things about the series and nobody can convince me that it wasn't amazing. Instead of Ron changing for Hermione to become her lover, we could have Ron changing for her to become a better friend. His character arc remains the same and Ron Hermione become best friends. Of course this would change many scenes and the storyline would've changed a lot as I already mentioned, but hey! At least we wouldn't have Ron haters who bash him for mAkInG hErMiOnE cRy. 🤡 And JKR could add different scenes instead of the ones hinting at Ron and Hermione's romantic relationship. We still would have had a beautiful story with a VERY SIMILAR dynamic.
4. "Harry wasn't the kind of guy Hermione was looking for. She already made a mistake with dating Viktor Krum, and she realized she didn't need a hero. She was a hero herself. Although Harry ≠ Viktor, they have very similar qualities like: bravery, loyalty and they are both heroes."
This is probably the best argument of the entire *almost* 5 minute video.
But there's still so much wrong with this.
Bravery and loyalty are literally Ron's best traits lmao. That's exactly why she chose him. 🤣 Every Romione shipper knows she doesn't value intelligence and looks, she values bravery, courage, loyalty. That's exactly what she said in the first book and stuck by it until the end.
She didn't need a hero? She was a hero herself? - Then why are we forgetting that Ron was also a hero? Everyone always makes it seem like Harry and Hermione are the mighty heroes and Ron is their goofy sidekick. He was also a hero! I believe he is even on the chocolate frog cards (correct me if I'm wrong)! And we all know that's the biggest flex. 😌
But besides that, Ron and Harry are very similar in many ways. They're both brave, they're both loyal, they both like to have fun, they're both lazy, they're both amazing at quidditch, they're both talented (Harry is very powerful and he's good at DADA, while Ron can do many impressive things like mimic voices and come up with quick solutions even when he's under pressure and his life depends on it!). So if Hermione liked one and thought he was her "type", then there's a hight possibility she liked the other too. In canon, she only likes Ron obviously, but I'm saying that since Ron and Harry are so similar and share the same traits, Hermione could've chosen Harry too.
Anyways, that's all that the video included, it was very nice hearing different opinions and I actually wasn't writing this out of anger like I wrote the post about defending Romione against *the ridiculously stupid* arguments that Dr*mione shippers like to use.
Once again, if it isn't clear, I STAN both Romione and Hinny, but Harmione definitely could've worked. :)
Thanks for reading! ~ Lia <3

The biggest problem with the films is that the movies tried to pander Harmony and Snily with extra deviating scenes even THOUGH KNOWING that the books have tons of Romione, Hinny and Jily moments. No offence to their shippers, BUT DUDE THIS IS AN ADAPTATION, NOT A "FANFICTION" WHERE YOU perry-johnson Ron, Ginny, Tonks and James up. And dont get me started on what happened to Remadora, Bleur, Marthur, Franklice, Tedromeda? They're bg extras. A BIG MIDDLE FINGER TO KLOVES AND YATES. I'm mad istg
OMFG EXACTLY
you’re not supposed to go off on a tangent and add your own shit

You know that scene when Fred and George tease Ginny about all her boyfriends in the beginning of HBP? My dumba** imagination shows Ron complaining to Fred and George while setting up WWW about how clueless Ginny and Harry are since he's the biggest Hinny shipper ever. Like "I can't believe she's shopping around with all these boys when Harry is literally right there! We all already know they like eachother so why won't they do anything?" And the twins are just rolling their eyes at the irony.
To be fair, at least Ron didn’t know that Hermione fancied him back.
Thanks for the message, anon.

Why is Drar*y so popular among HP fans but not Hinny? Besides Drar*y, i think second most popular in fandom is Harmion* ship, not Hinny or Romione. So I wonder why canon ship in HP not that popular. As Hinny & Romione shipper, it's really hurt me whenever I read a hurtful comments regarding my ships in facebook, tumblr and ig.
The most popular ships, according to a search through A03, are:
Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter (33271)
Sirius Black/Remus Lupin (14305)
Harry Potter/Severus Snape (11205)
Hermione Granger/Ron Weasley (9216)
James Potter/Lily Evans Potter (7582)
Hermione Granger/Draco Malfoy (7238)
Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley (7074)
Hermione Granger/Severus Snape (3492)
Harry Potter/Tom Riddle (2919)
Remus Lupin/Severus Snape (2675)
Romione is usually a secondary ship though- to Drarry.
Harmione used to be popular- but they faded into relative obscurity compared to Drarry over the last 10 years.
So time for some SHIPPING HISTORY:
Before the 5th book:
Hinny’s popularity has never been high- back before book 6 Harmione was the popular ship- Ship wars were mostly Harmione vs Romione- with a side of Hinny, and a tiny bit of Lunarry.
Then the sixth book came out:
The second Hinny became a thing , Harmoanians were suddenly on the attack. Fandom in general had a MELTdown.
Romance was the most important thing to fandom- there were tons of people shocked by Hinny happening (they shouldn’t have been. It was very obvious.) But with romance being ‘TEH MOST IMPORTANT THING EVAH! SQUEE’ they were really mad that the all important romance wasn’t given a lot of screen time.
They wanted the books to switch genres in order to build up the romance ‘properly,’ basically. Fandom is STILL that way. We indulge in fanfiction where romance can be the center of attention- but the books didn’t do that. How dare they. :P
Anyways- people have always disliked the Weasleys for some reason (classism), and Ginny got a TON of hatred.
There are lots of reasons Ginny was hated:
she broke a ton of ships
she is pretty athletic and sassy- many of the readers prefer Hermione because they identify with a nerdy smart unpopular selfrighteous girl over a ‘jock’ character
she’s not the ‘main girl’ of the book- so has had less screen time
by this point Ginny was also barely in the films- Hermione was being powered up and beautiful- while they made Ginny a shell of a human and did little to vamp up Bonnie’s looks
People wrote her off as a fangirl/stalker character
no one was paying attention to Ginny and so saw her character development as ‘sudden’ (it wasn’t.)
Then the movies caught up to the books-
Kloves was a huge Harmione shipper, so that got a TON of attention in the scripts and films.
Daniel Radcliffe was a Lunarry shipper and put a ton of his acting into that.
On film Hinny got NOTHING at ALL except like 2 ‘sad looks’ by Ginny? Until book 6- and then they didn’t even interact? It was awful.
So movie-based fans hated Hinny (and movie Hinny DESERVES the hate. It’s AWFUL.)
Romione gets established in both universes (book and movie) very firmly. (Even though it was not handled the best in the films.)
So with Hinny being hated by movie fans, and disliked by many of the book fans- and movies influencing book readers as well- Hinny was firmly established as a disliked ships.
Then there’s the Draco thing:
Meanwhile- Draco has always been popular in fandom- but the girl he was always involved with in the books (Pansy) was not well developed compared to other characters.
Dramione used to be VERY popular. People LOVE the idea of ‘redeeming draco’- but with Romione being written into the plot so firmly, Dramione lost a ton of shippers over the years because it was messy and upset all the character interactions a lot- and so many of them turned to Drarry. Keeping Romione is easier than Dramione.
Drarry became more and more popular- Hinny was hated, and getting rid of it in lieu of another ship was easy- it didn’t upset Harry’s relationship with the Weasleys, Got in that hothot m/m goodness fandom (again mostly women) crave, has the ‘forbidden love’ people crave, and then they also get that ‘smarmy bastard sex machine in leather pants paired with an uptight ‘good guy’’
That’s the same reason Wolfstar is so popular. It has that trope- troubled ‘bad boy’ and ‘uptight haunted good guy’ that people cream themselves over. It can be a super cute ship- and there are great fics /art out there for it, but the main appeal is the tropes, imo.
At the end of the day, certain tropes have more appeal to people. It has little to do with the books much of the time- and given everything- Hinny and Romione are simply ‘boring’ to many people, unsexy to others, and ‘poorly done’ to a lot of people.
I disagree- I think they’re awesome! :) But feh- the biggest bummer is not getting as much fan content with my ships, and having to come across SO much hate for Ron and Ginny everywhere.
I got the ships I wanted in the books :). I have a lot of cool artists and writers to follow, and enjoy writing and drawing them myself- and you can’t help what’s popular at large.

Ron and Hermione would be the most supportive and understanding friends: An Essay
I read a lot of fanfiction lately, and I enjoy it. I can get past a lot of things in a lot of different situations and still enjoy the work, but I’ve noticed something recently that just makes me really upset. Half the time, Ron and Hermione are portrayed as unsupportive of Harry and Ginny’s relationship, and I just don’t see it. (This applies not to stories where authors specifically write them to be OOC). Ron and Hermione would be the most undyingly supportive Hinny fans and here’s why.
For all she is as a know-it-all, she doesn’t earn this title without merit. Hermione isn’t just book-smart, she’s incredibly perceptive. I’m of the opinion that she knew Ginny was perfect for Harry, she knows her best friends. He needs someone strong and kind hearted, ie Ginny, and she helps Ginny overcome her own issues and move on, helping her become her own person. We also see other small instances of when they get really close too, like when it’s Hermione out of everyone that knows that Ginny plays quidditch, even knowing how she learned. We also know she confides in her about Michael and Dean when she dates them, and Hermione confides in her about Ron. It’s a really strong testament to their friendship I think, that they become such good friends, best friends, after the Chamber. For so many it would be so easy to blame Ginny for being “a stupid little girl” but Hermione doesn’t do that, instead they’re friends.
With Harry, she can practically read him like an open book. She picks up on Harry’s feelings for Ginny early on, giving him what Harry describes as “knowing looks”, dropping hints and fishing for answers when he shows just a little too much interest in his best friends little sister’s relationships. When he finally does something about his feelings, she’s ecstatic, beaming even, because here are her two best friends, utterly perfect for each other and happy.
With Ron, it’s more subtle, but besides a joking remark and some misplaced words, he’s overall supportive of their relationship, basically encouraging it. It might’ve taken some getting used to for him, but he never tells them he doesn’t approve. He just has to play the big brother card, like when he scolds Harry in DH after the kiss, which he immediately then feels uncomfortable for. The Big Brother facade is infuriating for Ginny, it’s something I imagine Ron takes extra seriously since the Chamber. He failed her once, and he never wants to do it again. And with Harry, he just cares really so much for him. He’s his best friend and sometimes jealously gets in the way but it never prevails, it never sticks. Can any of us actually say we haven’t said hurtful things to our closest friends out of anger and jealously?
Ron can be seen throughout the series to be supportive of them. In Goblet of Fire, he suggests Harry take Ginny, he had to have known what that could have meant for them. In OTP, at the end, when Ginny says she broke up with Michael, he makes a pointed look at Harry when mentioning that she should choose better. His implications are clear, he wants his sister and his best mate together. When they kiss, he accepts it. It makes a comment just to stir trouble with his sister, but stirring trouble and arguing is how Ronald Weasley operates. He’s worried about their feelings in DH, knowing that the outcome could break one of their hearts, not because he thinks they shouldn’t be together.
And another thing I see is everyone always thinking Ginny would be upset and angry at Ron for his leaving in Deathly Hallows. Sure she would be disappointed in him and maybe angry at first, but once she understood that it was because he was being manipulated by a Horcrux, Ginny couldn’t possibly be angry anymore, she KNOWS what that feels like. She’d be the one to comfort him and explain better than anyone that it wasn’t his fault, not really and that’s okay.
Whatever Harry and Ginny decide to get up to after the war, whatever anyone’s HC are of their relationship progress, Hermione and Ron would be their number one support system because after everything the two of them have been through, they deserve to be the ones to be happy with each other, no matter what that picture looks like? Do they get married immediately after the war? Support!! They knew Harry worried endlessly about her, stared at her dot on the map they’re not stupid. If they want to marry, they’d be supportive. Do they wait a few years, maybe even until she gets pregnant or after? Support!!! After all the shit Harry went through, being forced to do things on someone else’s time, and Ginny being told to be a proper girl and never being able to be the judge of her own life half the time, feeling like she couldn’t have anything to control? Hell, that’s their choice they’re happy they love each other.
Nobody tell me that Ronald “Pick someone better next time” Weasley and Hermione “knowing look” Granger aren’t the biggest fucking Harry/Ginny shippers out there.

The best(worst?) example of distorted character views is the dramione fandom. Is fucking funny how in dramione with background Hinny, Hinny tend to say to Hermione shit like "Thank you for helping us pass our classes at Hogwarts" and similar shit. Or how Draco goes around saying, "Weasley never appreciated you. I always loved you." I sometimes read them for the comedy value.
I’m Hinny stories in general (which I’ve noped out of a bunch for this reason) is that Hermione appears more than Ron. Like Hermione is the confidant, the fixer, the biggest Hinny fan, the one who helps bring them together. Ron is shoved into the background or bashed.
Like… excuuuuse me. Ron is not only the best friend of Harry (please refer to canon because Harry is miserable without Ron but he’s happy go lucky without Hermione and he would rather watch Ginny’s dot on the map than talk to a weeping Hermione in a tent) AND the big brother. He tried to not so subtly get Harry to take his sister to the Yule Ball. He was the biggest Hinny shipper to ever ship. He was closer to both of them than Hermione was. I refuse to believe that Ginny and Hermione were besties. Like… Ginny is described as popular. She had a bunch of girl friends that she hung out with that weren’t Hermione. Ginny’s and Hermione’s personalities don’t mess well at all. They were probably friendly and got along but they were a far cry from besties.
The person Hermione was closest to was always Ron. So I find it hilarious that Ron is bashed in Dramione fics as not being good enough for Hermione. Let’s face it, Ron was good enough for Hermione but Hermione wasn’t good enough for Ron. She constantly belittled him, attacked him, and treated him like a moron. What did Ron do? Stood up for her, complimented her, thought she was the best thing since sliced bread.
I digress.
Ron Weasley is THE king.

When Harry got a spot in the quidditch team when he was 11 years old, Ron’s first thought was “i can’t wait to tell Ginny this”
When he came back from his first year, he couldn’t stop telling Ginny about all the things Harry did. “He ate the Snitch, write that in your journal”
When Harry started to go out with Cho, Ron made a joke “seems like your crush has a crush” and Ginny “shut the fuck up” and Ron “she’s a Tornados supporter though” “So what?” “Harry is nuts”
When Ginny was dating Michael, Ron was honestly taken aback mostly because, deep inside, he was rooting for Harry to be with her. “I thought Ginny liked Harry!” he said.
And when Ginny started dating Dean it was almost the end of the world.
When Harry and Ginny were happily talking and hanging out during practice, Ron’s thought were “are you kidding me? I thought she liked Harry. I wonder if Harry likes her”. Harry was laughing of Ginny’s joke. Ron looked at them. “nah I guess they are just friends. She’s going to marry Dean Thomas, cool.”
But after Harry started dating his sister, Ron was over the moon.
“So you’re dating Harry now”  “Yep”  “Well at least he’s better than Michael and Dean and everyone else."
Because this is canon:
“You said yourself you rather you’d rather it was Harry than Michael or Dean.” “Yeah I would”. (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince).
Don’t tell me Ron wasn’t more excited for Harry and Ginny’s wedding than Ginny herself because Harry was going to be officially part of the family.
These are just some proofs that Ron is the biggest Hinny shipper of all time.

for the harry potter ask!!!!: 3, 5,6, 7,12, 25, 28,
3. Which is your favourite book and why?
Answered here for my number one, so I’m moving on to my second favorite book. Half Blood Prince, because of:
All the Voldemort memories!!!!! Harry and Dumbledore exploring them and studying them is awesome and super interesting
Harry being a dumbass and not listening to Hermione and IT BITING HIM IN THE ASS
Ginny being the awesome self she is
Harry pining over Ginny
HARRY AND GINNY GETTING TOGETHER
ALL THE RON AND HERMIONE SHENANIGANS AND BEING STUPID AND IN LOVE
The scene in the cave, Voldemort being too proud and self absorbed to account for a child (and a house elf but that comes in another book)
Dumbledore dying lmao. No but seriously, Snape killing Dumbledore when up until then you don’t know if Dumbledore is right to trust him, and then he kills him and I remember being like WHAAAAT OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG because really it’s an amazing moment for the entire series
Did I mention Harry and Ginny being a couple????? Yes I did, here it is again because once doesn’t cover it
5. Which scene was left out of the films that you think should have been included?
hum..... APART OF RESHOOTING THE ENTIRETY OF PRISONER OF AZKABAN??????? AND GETTING THIS MOVIE ERASED FROM MY MEMORY FOREVER AND DESTROYING ANY EVIDENCE IT EVER EXISTED AND ERNVGPIEWHRVWKJERIFG -
Okay it’s out of my system.
Seriously, the ending of Prisoner of Azkaban, and the entire reveal about the map and Harry’s dad. This is such an important character-building moment for Harry, and I will be forever mad about it.
6. Which scene was added into the films that was a great addition?
It’s not really a scene that was added per se, but this sccene is too perfect not to mention: The moment Harry comes out of the labyrinth with Cedric’s body. It was done marvelously. Harry crying, everybody cheering, until suddenly Fleur screams and all hell breaks loose? Perfect. 10000% would recommend for any heartbreak.
7.  In your opinion, what was an Iconic Moment™?
HARRY AND GINNY FIRST KISS!!!! I am the biggest Hinny shipper, I think they are perfect for each other and the first kiss is just.... *chef kiss*
Also, every Harry Sass moment hahaha ¨there’s no need to call me ‘sir’ professor” “it changes everyday, you know” lmao that boy cracks me up
12. Which character deserved better and why?
CHARLIE. Charlie Weasley deserves an entire series on his own (BUT NOT WRITTEN BY JK DON’T GIVE HER ANY IDEAS). This guy is a fucking DRAGON TAMER omg I just wish we could have a thousand more information about Charlie I love him.
Also, Ron in the movies (but I don’t need to say more, I know what you think about this and we think the same haha)
Also, Draco. But not for the reasons everybody might think (I am not a Drarry or Dramione shipper and never will be so don’t come clsoe to me with these, please). Draco is..... way too one-dimensional throughout the entire series. He starts having more than one thin layer apart from “being a jerk” in HBP but it’s still not enough. I don’t care if Draco stays a vilain or gets a redemption arc, but he deserved more than one character trait, especially when this trait is “obsessed with the main characte”
25. Which of the Deathly Hallows would you pick and why?
28.  Do you agree with Dumbledore’s statement, ‘Sometimes I think we Sort too soon’?
Both already answered here.
Harry Potter asks!
