A woman came into my work a little while ago loudly complaining about her (perfectly well-behaved) son, saying how he was ten years old and didn't know how to listen, and I nodded along like "yeah I totally remember being that age", and she looks at me and goes, "no, seriously, he's Autistic," and I spread my arms and go, "Hey, same! Twinsies!"
And this woman's eyes. My God, it was beautiful. She goes, "Really? And they let you WORK here?"
And then she turns back to her kid to nag at him and over her shoulder little dude and and I make what I can only describe as the purest form of eye contact I have ever experienced in my life

I am a great shipper of Ben and Polly HOWEVER I do think that the first few years of being married is Not Easy for them, due to a) being very different people from very different walks of life b) their relationship is basically built on adrenaline highs and adventures c) once they end up back in their time, Ben almost immediately heads off to sea. Which is not a great foundation for a relationship but they try to make it work.
And it isn't working until they somehow end up getting in contact with Barbara and Ian. I dunno how, maybe the Doctor is involved, maybe they run into each other and Recognize something about the other, maybe they just organically develop a friendship, or even Polly and Barbara are cousins or something cos I believe they have the same surname. And Barbara and Ian who are a decade or so further into their relationship, a relationship that was already in the beginnings before they got whisked away by the Doctor, are able to help them out and help them make it work.
I just want. Barbara and Ian kinda being mentor figures to Ben and Polly. I think they would be great friends.

this is going to sound like the most boomer take ever but I genuinely think increasing reliance on technology for entertainment in youth is draining creativity. it's that instant gratification which allows you to shut your brain off for a while. these kids aren't having to resort to their own creativity when bored. there's always a solution to "bored" now. BRING BACK PLAYING WOLVES UNTIL BEDTIME
