Warning Alert 🚨: This contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Deluxe #57⚡️😋 Creator Robert Kirkman wrote in the letters column ending The Walking Dead #57, published in 2009. "Sometimes writing this comic is hard." The issue — which is presented in full color for the first time as part of Image Comics' The Walking Dead Deluxe reprint series, on stands now — sees Rick Grimes become a "living zombie" to save his son, Carl, from an attempted rape by marauders. In a scene that inspired the season 4 finale of the AMC series, Rick rips out a marauder's throat with his teeth before gutting the man who has pinned down his young son. "This is the issue where Carl nearly gets raped by marauders, and Rick essentially becomes a living zombie in order to save him. I'd had the 'Rick bites a guy like a zombie' scene planned for a while," Kirkman wrote, adding that he "thought it would be cool to push things to the point where Rick had to behave like a zombie in order to survive." "From there, it was just a matter of coming up with a situation dire enough to drive Rick to do that," Kirkman continued. "And well, you see what I came up with. Eek. I mean, heck, it's a dark book, we go to some dark places. It's a savage world." The creator went on to explain that it was his own experience as a father that motivated him to push The Walking Dead into an even darker — and more violent. "By this point I had kids. And I don't think this happens to everyone, but for a time after my kids were born, it made me significantly more sensitive to violence. Scenes that wouldn't have bothered me at all suddenly upset me more now that I had kids," Kirkman wrote. "So, from time to time, it would make me want to hold back on certain storylines. And that would make me feel like my kids were making me... soft. So what happened was if I ever felt myself pulling back... it would make me push even further into this direction. The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Final Trailer

AMC has released the final trailer for “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,” the latest spin-off of the popular zombie series. The show will feature the return of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick and Michonne, respectively. The series will pick up where the original series left off, with Rick and Michonne promising to reunite in a world filled with obstacles. The Ones Who Live is a story of AMC's The Walking Dead Universe that has been building since 2018 when Andrew Lincoln left TWD main series. The decision NOT to kill off Rick in the show (as Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman had done in the comics) created a future opportunity for Lincoln to return, in what was once expected to be a trilogy of Walking Dead movies.  The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will be a six-episode series that fills in the six years between when Rick was lost (thought dead) after saving the community from a zombie herd (Season 9), up until Michonne both left Judith to search for her husband, as last seen in The Walking Dead series finale.

'Invincible' Season 3 In Production

It's happening! Voice recordings are officially underway for Invincible Season 3. Invincible Season 1 premiered on Amazon Prime on March 25, 2021. The show stars the voice talents of Steven Yeun, J.K. Simmons, Seth Rogan, Khary Payton, Mark Hamill, Sandra Oh, and Walton Goggins with Robert Kirkman serving as showrunner. The first season was a bona fide success with critics and fans alike. Invincible currently has a score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. In a recent interview with The Movie Dweeb, Khary Payton who plays Black Samson on the show, confirmed they have already started voice recordings for Invincible Season 3. He also confirms Season 2 is complete. This is the first update in a long while and this should be thrilling news for fans. If Season 2 is done and 3 is being worked on, then their release dates might come sooner than we thought. There is currently no release date set for either upcoming season of Invincible. I feel we're sure to hear something substantial in the coming months. You can see Khary Payton's full quote below: 'We finished season 2. We're onto season 3, but its so hard to say right now ." This is terrific news no matter how you slice it. Season 1 of Invincible was incredible and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the next two seasons. I literally binge-watched the entirety of Season 1 in about two days and I plan on doing the same with the next two. It'll be interesting to see where the show goes following the events of the finale. Where did Omni-Man go? What happens when he returns? Can Mark stop his father? All these pertinent questions will probably get answers in the next two seasons and I'm totally on board with it. So #CBR / #TheLineisDrawn this week was Character as a Zombie and I went with Invincible and tried to go a bit Walking Dead here as well. Both are Written and Created by #RobertKirkman from #ImageComics. I loved Invincible as a series and The Black and White look goes well with my style i think from the #WalkingDead .
