I was watching an edit of Roleslaying while I was procrastinating getting in the shower and noticed something.
When the shadowed figure ,that most of us assume is the bard king ( by the theme of purple, the lute and Ryker not liking bards or the bard college ), a ring appears on Romans hand. In this vision thing we can assume that he is supposed to be Ryker. So why the ring? We never see Ryker wearing any rings in any of the shots of him, so where did this ring come from? Roman doesn’t wear any rings either?
Usually I have an idea for something like this, but nothing that has any other real evidence is coming to mind. Every idea I’m having is a stretch.
Until I noticed what finger the ring is placed on.
The ring is placed on the index finger on his left hand ( I can assume the left because of shot previous ). You know what rings are placed on the index finger on your left hand?
WEDDING RINGS.
But Romans mom isn’t here? We can assume this is sometime shortly before Roman was born because Aunt Patty looks the same, and she ( and Ryker ) are out adventuring, which you can’t really do when you have a newborn at home.
Most of us assume Romans mother is dead because she went adventuring with Ryker, or that’s what I thought, so why isn’t she here? Ryker is adventuring. Ryker has is wedding ring on. Why isn’t Romans mother here? If Roman sees Patty in this vision, and even a man he doesn’t know, then why wouldn’t he at the least feel the presence of a woman he doesn’t know. Whatever caused the vision is clearly not him. So it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t know their faces, so why wouldn’t he see his mom!
I’m thinking of anything I can, but I only have one idea, and its that Ryker and this presumable Bard King dated at one point but there really nothing that can back that up. It’s probably the dumbest idea I have ever had, also doesn’t explain why Ryker would have the ring on and how Roman is here so I can probably trash that idea. Any ideas? I’m fresh out. Or is this just another one of me overthinking something? Just weirds me out. There’s a close up shot of the hands, and another where the ring disappears, they obviously want us to see it.
Please send me your ideas and anything that I might have missed in any of the episodes that connects back to this. Maybe I can piece something together? I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, though.

My Theories for Upcoming Roleslaying With Roman Episodes :
We’ve seen Janus, we know who Youngblood represents, We know Roman’s Roman.. but what about Patton, Logan, and Remus? I feel like the reason why Roman’s dad never speaks about Roman’s mom is because she divorced him and left with Remus. I know it sounds false, since Thomas himself has said that the storyline of RWR does not have any correlation with Sandersides. But hear me out-
“Dad.. where’s mom?”
“Well Roman- er.. maybe we’ll talk about this another day.”
And then he brings it up with Aunt Patty after Roman goes to bed
“He’ll find out soon about Remus and his mother, the two of them are just too powerful together. We can’t have that.”
“I know, but is keeping Roman in the dark the best thing?”
There’s a scene in the intro that I think takes place in the next episode. I believe it takes place in the bard university. Because of the mist with eyes that we see for a moment.
He could also be the very much unwanted child of the king.

Hmmmm, ok....Aunt Patty, the Goat, Fast Timmy, and Samual Have the same blue ribbon....and the honey barrels where taken by someone large....like maybe an 8ft tall Grandma?
And the fact that Samuel bought up the ribbons that Aunt Patty gave out, and Fast Timmy mentioned he works with someone with ribbons.
I don't trust this....theories that Anut Patty will be evil....or at least trying to push Roman to be a hero

im watching the playback of the rwr theories livestream bc i was busy when it actually happened, and i just got to the bit where they’re talking about how they don’t know anything about “roman’s mom” and just. i Cannot believe that ryker is straight. (obviously he could be an mspec icon and that would be great. he has very bi vibes imo. BUT ANYWAY TO GET TO MY POINT—) personally i vote for rwr roman having had two dads and the other one was trans. ryker and his seahorse dad husband who he absolutely doted on being so excited for their baby. that would be so cuteand then probably the dad tragically died before roman was big enough to remember or something idk. ryker’s tragic backstory happened. but yeah rwr roman should have two dads and the other one should be trans. unless they want to make ryker the trans one. seahorse dad ryker would also be highly acceptable.

Wait wait wait wait. Roleslaying With Roman theory time.
Blue color meanings: trust, loyalty, calmness.
What color are most of the characters in RWR wear as ribbons or other clothes?
Blue.
Who are the only characters from Reston who don’t wear blue?
Roman, Ryker, and Burgundy.
Even AJ and Lyra wear blue.
My theory? Because we don’t know what their pasts are. We need to learn that.
We don’t need the pasts of the others. Aunt Patty is very straight forward with her adventuring. The kids are literally just kids. Dorian already talked about some of his past. The goat is a goat. Samuel is clearly just a guy who likes being vague and is bad at hiding it. AJ and Lyra are the DMs. We have no idea what happened in Ryker’s past even though Aunt Patty talks about hers. Burgundy hasn’t told us about herself either. All we know about them is she runs the bakery. With Roman, it could just mean that he doesn’t know Ryker’s past or doesn’t remember his own childhood. Maybe it’s less of a trust thing and more of what Roman knows about everyone?
Also, with the skeletons? Maybe one of them is that blond in the hallucination. This is honestly just speculation, but what if Ryker and Aunt Patty traveled with two other people? And when that blond tried to go back for their friend, they got killed (or the blond stayed in the cave and killed the other one). Criss did say “friends” after all. Just some thoughts I had about the new episode.

AP Itemization: Existing state of AP Bruisers
This post will take a look at the current state of AP Bruisers. We'll start with a look at certain existing items that could support AP Bruiser itemization but fail to do so, followed by an analysis of Bruiser kits.
Liandry's Torment
We'll start with this item because it's actually so close to being a good Bruiser item:
It has offensive and defensive stats (75 AP and 300 HP).
MADNESS supports the prolonged brawl style that Bruisers thrive in.
TORMENT helps them fight the tankier champions of top lane.
Together, MADNESS and TORMENT provide an effect very similar to Black Cleaver's armor shred, and indeed, the item could fill that same niche for AP Bruisers. Unfortunately, as a spell-reliant class, they need CDR and/or mana help in their first item, which hurts this item's viability (for AP Bruisers).
Additionally, as a melee class, these champions value HP a lot. While the item does have 300 HP, I think we can take inspiration from the stat spread of Black Cleaver and shift the stats more towards HP (as Black Cleaver itself did in patch 7.4, when it swapped out Caulfield's Warhammer for Kindlegem in its build path).
Note: Of course, while this would be helpful for Bruisers, it will be important at some point in this process to consider mages and how they would interact with the new version of this item, especially those who already currently buy it.
Lich Bane
As noted in a previous post when discussing Triforce, the Spellblade passive actually lends itself really well to the Bruiser playstyle. So, why doesn't Lich Bane support AP Bruisers well?
Beyond the fact that Triforce has HP and Lich Bane doesn't, it is also significant that Triforce's Spellblade proc does not scale with offensive stats, whereas Lich Bane's does. By having an AP ratio, Lich Bane further incentivizes building AP and increasing one's burst damage instead of buidling as a Bruiser.
Hextech Protobelt
This... is actually a decent AP Bruiser item. Though it does have a similar effect to that of Lich Bane by adding another 'spell' to the burst rotation with an AP ratio, that ratio is less than that of a single Lich Bane proc. Additionally, this item does build out of Kindlegem and has 300 HP. We can even see that it supports AP Bruisers reasonably well; according to op.gg, it's the most common first item for Sylas, who is perhaps a quintessential AP Bruiser.
Perhaps the biggest issue I would say is that there is simply nothing else to build after this item for AP Bruisers. The existing 'off-tank' items with HP and AP all heavily lean towards AP, pushing any buyers towards being Mages / Assassins rather than actual Bruisers. (Of course, this is hardly a fault of the item itself.)
I will note that the gap-close active seems better suited for mid lane. The lane is shorter and the opponents are squishier, so the gap-close helps its user get onto the opponent quickly and delete them. In top lane, the opponents are generally tankier and killing them requires more sticking power (i.e. Phage's RAGE passive).
Abyssal Mask
As discussed briefly before, ETERNITY is rather niche. It works best on users with high mana costs as well as mana regen (in their kit, i.e. not from items) to sustain those high mana costs (examples include Swain + his Q and Kassadin + his W). Abyssal Mask has an even tighter niche than Rod of Ages since it has MR and is obviously best against a magic-damage threat.
Something else worth mentioning though is tied to the kits of certain AP Bruisers. This is perhaps an inaccurate generalization (which I will expand upon in the next section), but it seems to be the case that many potential AP Bruisers have very high AP ratios and not very many explicit defensive scalings, if any (e.g. Rumble, Sylas, Diana), whereas many AD Bruisers actually scale explicitly with HP. I know I said earlier (when discussing Liandry's Torment) that Bruisers implicitly like HP more than Mages since they need it to survive in melee range, but an item like this with 0 AP is rather poor for those champions with no explicit defensive scalings.
Kits - a further comparison of AD vs. AP Bruisers, with a special look at Diana
As discussed, it's important to consider the kits of potential AP Bruisers as well. Unfortunately, trying to speak in generalizations will be rather difficult, as every blanket statement about a class of champions will have an exception and/or require a lot of nuance to process. Thus, I'll pick a single champion to discuss, specifically Diana, as she exemplifies certain aspects (and I just like the character).
In theory, Diana could be an AP Bruiser, and indeed it is my opinion that her narrative fantasy is to play as such. Despite being tied to the moon and the night, she is a driven, unrelenting force, not some shadowy assassin. To design her as an assassin with the slipperiness of Zed would be a departure from her core being. Yet, the details of her kit force a burst playstyle:
A simple contributing factor is that her skills scale entirely off AP (as mentioned earlier) - for contrast, consider Urgot, who has HP scaling in his shield and enemy HP scaling in his shotgun knees and his ult. The defensive scaling rewards him for building HP, while the damage scaling ensures that he still does damage when building HP - Diana on the other hand is heavily incentivized to just build AP and maximize her ability to delete her target.
A more subtle factor is that her kit does not encourage delays. If she lands her Q, she can RWR and unleash that damage immediately; if she had charged her passive beforehand, she can even use that as well. As another contrast, Sylas wants to weave autos after his spells for the passive proc; he also doesn't really have the damage to burst a target but does have the defensive abilities (in a heal and a shield with massive AP scalings) to survive a brawl.
As I mentioned, redesigning Diana's kit is out of the scope for this project (especially when considering all of the other champions I'd want to take a look at). This is really all just to say that many champions may need changes to their kits to work well with these items, and it may be helpful to keep that in mind going forward.
In my next post, I'll finally share a draft of some item ideas - this may include some 'outline' ideas where I'll describe the niche I'd like to fill and then provide a loose outline of the item. For each item, I'll also discuss the guiding design principles, i.e. what problems I'm looking to fix and how I chose to address them. I'll also describe how I predict these items would see play, with a dedicated look at a couple specific champions.

Rewatching episode 6 of Roleslaying and something caught me attention.
So AJ says, when we first meet Temp and Arpeggio disguised as the plague doctor, that the costumes in the cart all have a plant vibe to them.
But when we see Youngblood, Roman and Noises outfits they all a specific motifs that repress the galaxy. Why wouldn’t their outfits be plant-ish too? Why instead have them be something so much bigger than plants and life itself? Does it have something to do with how connected they are? Maybe it’s about how they have a bigger role in all this than they believe? I am I just overthinking this? I don’t know!
I do understand that some of the outfits were described as ‘starry more solar looking’ but I just think it’s interesting that they all got put in outfits that all match each others. Like AJ did say that most of them were more plant-y so why didn’t any of them get plant themed outfits? I mean, Tempo and Arpeggio themselves (the people who most likely picked these outfits out for them) were in plant themed outfits with their little butterfly masks.
There’s probably nothing to find from this, but it caught my attention and I thought I’d bring it the Tumblr to see if anyone else thought the same.

Important to note:
- All That Glitters (title of the episode) comes from “all that glitters is not gold” which is from Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. The meaning is this: just because something is bright and shiny and NEON and electricity and casinos, does NOT mean it is good or worth anything of value. Meaning the whole city is a sham.
Mike Ro’Phone was the other person in the picture on the employee of the month. Them and Goat are bitter (or butter? Lol) rivals about it
This image in the opening credits?? Is this Noise and is this The Battle of the Bards???
Doc Janus’ bottles are all the same colours as the sides lol
He also has six hands, not unlike another Janus we know.
The potion that Youngblood selected will give him Mind Reading ability later on
All the billboards outside of Fantabulous Neon were all named after people who worked on this series and other art for the channel
