hey! your writing is a huge inspiration for me. i'm trying to improve in hopes of pursuing it professionally, and was considering enrolling in some courses. so, i was wondering if you've ever taken any courses/classes/workshops?
have a lovely day!
I've actually been an English major for the past four years so most of my courses are for writing! But I was already writing long before college, and I didn't really take any classes for that -- though I did get after-school practice because I was the editor for the school paper.
I guess all this is to say I """learned""" writing alone (through reading, etc.) BUT I found the extra help of courses/workshops invaluable. It gives you perspectives on your work that you never would have come up with on your own. And more importantly, you get to be in a community of writers. I know I'm constantly inspired by the other writers I work with, and I never would have found that if I was just writing alone in my room all day.
I don't really have specific courses to recommend you since ALL of my college courses are dedicated to writing. But I'd suggest considering a course in the genre you want to work with most (my favorite was my Fiction class bc i got to go wild lol). My country's writing workshops are notoriously inaccessible, so if youre in a place to enter a good one, I'd say take advantage of it and go have fun!!

Writing vent:
ngl I kind of like working on my unpopular stories that get no comments because whenever I upload something new onto "Let's Get This Over With" or "Loki's Little Habit" or "Something to Live For", I get a lot more comments that don't make me feel so good about my writing or beg me to write something else.
There's like 4 people or so who come into comments a lot and just say "I don't like this choice you made" or "I wish you had done x" or something like that and it's like... I'm glad you read it and took the time to comment but if you really feel that way then maybe consider reading something else or writing your own thing? If you want to make an alternate ending to my thing, then please do, but don't ask me to change my work for you.
I don't mind requests. I *like* requests, but I've just found this method of requesting things really upsetting and it's been a huge damper on my motivation.
I've been working on a new story that's centered around Thor and I'm going to need a while to work more of the story out, but I'm kind of scared to start posting it because I think I'm going to get a lot of negative comments about it even though I worked really hard and invested a lot of personal experience into it.
I post fandom content as therapy work for myself. I always want to improve as a writer, but that's why I'm getting a creative writing minor and why I'm working for a local paper. That's not why I post online. I'd love a beta reader (I should put up a big "BETA READER WANTED" sign up at this point) but if you're not my beta reader, then I'd kind of prefer you didn't comment that stuff on my therapy writing after I've already posted it. It makes me feel like I'm just putting out low quality first drafts every time I write. :(

cakejerry if you had to set jimin up to go on a blind date who would you choose for him
Uhm cha hakyeon ☝️🤓
And that's purely self-indulgent and delusional. NOT in a romantic sense btw I would just like to know what those two would talk about if they ever met. I have a feeling jimin would hate hakyeon kinda BUT hakyeon would adopt jimin immediately and take care of him in a way bts just never has. (Delusional)(jimin would warm up to him eventually and they would bond over their respective mistreatment and become besties)(Delusional²) (Hakyeon is my ult btw if you're not caught up on the lore but also do not look him up this is for your own good)
But if you're asking who I would actually want him to date long term?... That's crazy because no one deserves Jimin and no one is good enough for Jimin, imo. It would have to be someone older, taller, calmer, someone who complements him perfectly and is not afraid to show their affection, someone who respects him and listens to him and understands him, someone emotionally mature and intelligent, someone who devotes their life to him............. If anyone knows a person like that let me know I'll send them right over
Or maybe we just get him in a room with one of the many people he has shamelessly flirted with over the years and see how he fares. A good dicking down will do him some good
