Hi Vector Prime,
Were there any Transformers in the Beast Wars that had a werewolf as their beast mode?
Dear Listless Lycanthrope,
As the Beast Era dawned, Carnivac refused to undergo any upgrades into a more modern Predacon form, greatly preferring his wolf Pretender shell. However, it came as a surprise to him that after long periods of time, the synthetic Pretender shell material tends to become more unstable and malleable. And so on nights on Cybertron when the moons are both full, radiation from any nearby energon—including his own internal supply—degrades the integrity of his shell so much that it prevents him from exiting it. This fills him with unspeakable frustration and rage, and through great pain and sheer force of will, he transforms into a robot form while still inside his wolf shell. The result is a bipedal lupine lifeform, and reader, I must say, I shudder when I remember the time I saw it. Woe betide any robots near him in this state of lunacy.

I wonder if there a in universe explanation why didn’t the Autobot Pretenders not participate in the Great War until the events of Masterforce as how they not step in major events like the Ultimate Doom or Megatron’s Master Plan or the events of Transformers the movie so what they were doing until 2020 when the events of Masterforce happen?
Dear Hidden Hope,
This was always something the Autobot Pretenders struggled with. As you know, the war had entered a quiet stage when the Pretenders made their way to Earth. Optimus Prime and Megatron were dormant within the crashed Ark, and Elita-1 and her team prevented Shockwave from rallying the Decepticons. By the time the war reignited in 1984, the Autobot Pretenders had grown quite used to their human lives. What’s more, the main Decepticon force had seemed to have forgotten about their monstrous Pretender soldiers, and their Autobot foes were concerned that by revealing themselves they would risk the Decepticons moving to release their own Pretenders. Thus, the Autobot Pretenders fought on as humans, teaching those around them to treasure sentient life and oppose tyranny.
But, there is another group of “Autobots” who were assisted by the Pretenders. In the 1990s, Hawk was approached in private by a strangely familiar robot named Fire Convoy. Himself the leader of a group of warriors, Fire Convoy and his Dimensional Patrol had pursued a group of criminals called the Destrongers into the ancient past. Having been born in the future, Fire Convoy was aware that there were Autobot sleeper agents active on Earth in that era, and asked for Hawk’s help.
Hawk understood everything. He knew that Fire Convoy could not jeopardize the development of mankind, and in his voice he could feel the warmth of a being who loved all sentient life, just as he did. Using his connections with Professor Gō and other civil servants, Hawk was able to get the Dimensional Patrol installed in several Japanese institutions, including local fire and police departments as well as Japan Rail as Autobot representatives, their true identities kept secret.
A consummate professional until the end, Metalhawk’s respect for the protection of the timeline resonated deeply with me. Though the Pretenders hid their Cybertronian nature, I believe they never hid their true emotions.
