Is birding in Bhutan expensive for you?
Asian Adventures knows how to make it work for you.
Paving way through the lofty hills of the world's youngest mountain range will lead you to the Himalayas' enchanting kingdom world-renowned for its ancient monasteries and unsullied landscape. Bhutan has always attracted tourists for its natural beauty coupled with ancient Tibetian practices. However, there is another side of this dragon kingdom that unveils the undisturbing avian life throbbing in the region. Birds of Bhutan have been making headlines across the globe for their extreme rarity and the colorful plumage which they tend to show off in the untamed topography of the region. The thick foliage of the broadleaf forest covering most parts of the nation has become the last surviving ground for many vulnerable species including White-bellied Heron, Blyth's kingfisher, Ward's trogon, Rufous-necked hornbill, Blood Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, Wood Snipe, Chestnut-breasted Partridge, Beautiful Nuthatch, etc. So the next time you visit this pious land, do scan its unkempt topography and who knows you might end up crossing paths with one of the most gorgeous species on this planet.

Shrouded by snow-clad mountains and lush green meadows, Nepal is the distant cousin of Bhutan. The nation is regarded as the epicenter of Hindu pilgrims for housing Pashupatinath Temples (enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Site), Dakshinkali Temple (dedicated to the goddess Kali), Gokarna Mahadev Temple, etc. However, it has also carved a niche for sheltering prolific wildlife rarely seen in other parts of the world. If Chitwan National Park is one of the last strongholds for the critically endangered One-horned Rhinos, the picturesque valley of Annapurna Valleys carries the highest congregation of Himalayan Monal, Koklass Pheasant, Cheer Pheasant, Khalij Pheasant, Satyr Tragopan, and Blood Pheasant. The wonderful blend of the riverine ecosystem and the vast grassland has added a unique charm to the wildlife reserve for the Koshi River. The place is acknowledged as the best birding hotspot to sight the incredible birds of Nepal.
