This might be a hot take, but I actually like that Percy figured out Luke was the traitor at the last minute. There were A LOT of clues that would’ve been hard to ignore, and he ignored them for as long as he could. And it’s clear that even after accusing Luke, he’s still surprised and heartbroken at Luke’s confirmation of his suspicions. He was holding out hope, guys!!

Also, the Betrayal Scene flows better as an exchange of dialogue and a swordfight than it did, in the books, as a monologue and a scorpion sting. This also leaves a bigger impact on the viewers and characters because it’s more emotional.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON THE PJO SHOW:

Great show! Amazing actors! Loved the sets!

The pacing was a little rushed but considering how much they had to squeeze into a few episodes I understand why.

Percy Jackson and The Olympians final episode rant….SPOILERS.

I need to talk about “Do you dream about mom?”

Percy is meeting his father for the first time and he has one question at the forefront of his mind. Of course Poseidon assumes he wants to know about Sally, about getting her back. But no!

While everyone has been identifying him as his father’s son, Percy has spent this entire season identifying himself as Sally Jackson’s son. He has not once prayed to his father, instead he prays to Sally. He has only briefly been curious about his father’s intentions, while making his mother the focal point of the quest.

Percy getting Sally back isn’t a question at all. Percy Jackson just called Ares and Zeus a punk bitch and a dumb bitch, respectively, to their faces. So him getting his mother back from Hades is very much a foregone conclusion.

So when meeting his father for the first time, having just moments to speak to him he doesn’t ask anything for himself because he doesn’t need anything for himself from Poseidon. Instead he wants to know if Sally meant and still means something to Poseidon. The most important thing he wants from his father is to know that his mother was truly cared for and I don’t think I will ever be over it…
