The fact that when they say “we know who stole the bolt!” Luke’s reply isn’t “who?” but “how do you know?”

Okay can I just say that I am LOSING it over the new episode for way too many reasons but here are a few pointers
-The old married couple part was absolutely amazing and I fucking lost it like Luke really just said he was the biggest percabeth shipper ever
-Hermes. Enough said.
-The animals just wreaking havoc were too good and Grover was there like "Oh dw they'll be fine, the mortals, however.."
-Percy driving the taxi 😭 you can tell he's a new yorker (ALSO WHO GAVE A 12 YEAR OLD KID FROM NEW YORK THE RIGHT TO DRIVE A TAXI)
-The note really said "to the dumb kids"
And of course the main reason I made this
When Annabeth and Percy iris message luke, they say they've found out who the thief is, right? And Luke doesn't reply with "how? who? did you find the bolt?" or anything like that, oh no, he replied with "How do you know?"
Did you see it?
God that was so fucking subtle but it was just SO good especially the execution of it LIKE THE FORESHADOWING VDVYDYV

so yeah i'm losing my entire mind about the pjo adaptation like everyone else, currently foaming at the mouth at the mouth after having finished episode 4. but what i haven't seen anyone talk about was how the show treated the museum in the arch, which i thought was an AWESOME move by the writers!!! they didn't have to acknowledge it, but they did!! the disagreement between annabeth and grover where she makes the excuse that "it's just what some humans /want/ it to be" while grover is sort of like, doesn't matter, it's still complicity with the crimes that are being celebrated here... the way aryan managed to look so DISGUSTED!! amazing!! and it also shows how annabeth tends to be on the side of lawfulness/status quo and usually isn't ready to examine whether or not that's the right thing, but also shows how as she continues to be challenged in that worldview, she opens up
also, how they brought in the whole centaur thing earlier in the episode--i did think that it was a metaphor for both the overhunting of buffalo and the ethnic cleansing of indigenous people, but i thought it was gonna be a one-off thing. but then they tied it back in with the museum and UGH i just think it's so good! such an awesome way to talk about environmental harm and colonialism in a way that a) makes a lot of sense with the story and will come back later in the series and b) is easier for younger kids to understand. rick and the other writers are killing it with the reinterpretations of myth and stuff and also with confronting very real, very complex issues in a fun kid's show. i love this show dude.

SPOILERS FOR PJO SERIES!!
I'd just like to say... the end of the episode?? Percy refusing to go one the quest initially?? I am Sally Jackson's son??
I died. It killed me. Because it makes so much sense to Percy's character, it makes him so much more human in our eyes, it's PERFECT

The line “Not every hero looks like a hero and not every monster looks like a monster” is such a good line, and it foreshadows many things. The most obvious being Luke’s betrayal, but it also extends to later series, with Tyson, who looks like a monster but is a hero, Percy’s fatal flaw, etc.
But I think the amazing part, is that it’s also just life. Not everyone is what they seem on the outside. Sometimes people seem nice but are actually nasty. Sometimes people seem mean, but it’s because there’s another layer to them.
Anyways, who knew one line could hold so much meaning?

guys we’re getting NEW PERCABETH DIALOGUE. that’s only just sinking in.
“are you stalking me?”
“..yes.”
“…okayy. ..why..?”
LIKE THAT REALLY HAPPENED. AND ANNABETH CALLED HIM SUNSHINE SARCASTICALLY WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS. SO MANY OPPORTUNITIES. they are just so iconic. no one does it like percabeth

so. that scene with hermes huh.
remember how that didn't actually happen and instead prometheus had to show percy a vision of that whole ugly heartbreaking confrontation in book 5.
7 year old annabeth holding up a mouldy cookie asking if they could leave. luke telling his father to his face that he never loved him. and then may castellan having a horrifying fit of curse-induced insanity, falling into hermes' arms, and him calling her "my love" once luke and the girls were gone.
they just. had annabeth tell hermes she overheard the whole thing. in the book thalia doesn't even think annabeth understood what was going on. but she heard everything.
i cried real actual sobbing tears through that whole scene. it was so beautiful and reframes that conversation from hermes' perspective and when this obviously comes back to haunt us all in season 5 i will cry even harder.

if that's what Luke looks like just seeing annabeth witness his betrayal, then what would he look like when/if we get the "family, luke, you promised"?

I like how the first god to legit be in the kids's corner is Hephaestus.
Because, if you look at the myths, despite not being blameless of treating other gods badly himself, he's most often the other olympians's punching bag. As much as he's included in Olympus, it always feels like the other gods include him reluctantly and with disdain simply because of him being disabled and ugly (even though in the show he's just disabled, the actor they got is actually good-looking but let's forget that).
Neglected by his own mother, married to someone who doesn't love him and openly cheats on him (with other gods no less!), always treated like an inconvenience unless he's being useful by providing other gods with weapons, etc.
Of course he's the first god to recognize the children's pain because he's felt it himself. Of course he's gonna agree when Annabeth says "this isn't how things should be!". And in the end he lets them go without asking for anything in return, something Ares would never have done.
I just think that's what they were trying to say especially with the inclusion of Hephaestus's backstory in the tunnel (which I wish we could've seen more of)
