Tjjjj ok so i dont think ive talked about ut on here yet but ok so

The premise of Dreamling Tangled AU is: in the comics Dream is canonically Night (their mother)'s favorite child. So after he is born, she basically... keeps him. He is still the king of Dreams and all but his realm is inside of hers and he is not allowed to interact with Dreamers or humans or really anyone else, keeping him isolated and dependent on her. He is obsessed with humans and the Waking and desperately wants to go. One day, he meets Hob, an immortal lucid dreamer and friend of Death who somehow inadvertently manages to find the Dreamlord himself. Dream takes a chance and leaves his realm to go to the Waking where he has adventures, meets his siblings, and finally manages to gain autonomy for himself (as well as a boyfriend)

Ohh which snippet to choose...

Dream stutters, "I-I think he likes me." Night lets out a musical laugh. "Likes you? Dream, oh darling, you've spent too much time here. Look at you, you're delusional." Dreams brow furrows, mouth opening to retort, but his mother cuts him off before he could. She pinches the bridge of her nose, sighing. "He's using you, darling. For your power. Maybe even your body, as well.” She shudders in revulsion. “Humans are revolting, and animalistic like that. The only reason he is keeping you around-" Night steps forward, reaching up to toy with the bright red gem around his neck, "is for this. He's a thief, darling. Goodness knows how long it will take for him to get tired of you and steal it for himself. I am telling you, sweet boy. Humans are more trouble than they are worth." "You are wrong." "Stop this foolishness, love. Come back to our realm. Where you will be safe. We can put this idiotic fling behind us, write it off as a whim." "No." Dream hears the word ring in the air, and after a moment realizes it had come from himself.

I've turned on 'everyone is beautiful and no one is horny' because while I still bring it up in conversation and still agree with a lot of what it's saying a huge stumbling block is the idea- fallacy- that things used to be better in the film industry. They weren't better, just different, only now i'm seeing all these posts like '(smug) I actually think this 60s movie star is hotter than this 2010s movie star he looks more natural' no! he doesn't! he's caked in makeup and was working under horrific physical conditions! he's still a movie star!!

#i also just don't think 1 thinkpiece should hold that much sway over people #(especially since so much of tumblr doesn't watch/read about movies! i'm saying that neutrally- it's okay that you don't- but like)#so i'm sorry for ever hyping it up as much as i did; don't think i have quite enough of a following that it had direct consequences #but not a fan of my being part of an atmosphere that contributed to this #films

İ recently have seen your little analysis and chapter 107 and the clock keeper's boundary and noticed that i have known clock keepers have some stuff to do with justice/court, so i did a little digging

İ am not sure if you have seen this extra before but i am assuming this was the reason i sorta 'knew' beforehand (i really don't know how to address it otherwise, im sorry)

İts so nice to see old extras/pages that stuck in my brain for whatever reason finally get some more context, i love it!

İ can't wait to see Kako with his hammer judging Tsukasa and Nene!

Ooooooh I had forgotten about this extra! Thanks for reminding me :D

There was a moment in the main manga where Kako was a judge too (in chapter 61), and that was the only moment I remembered with a court theme.

I took it as that being Kako's role, as the (seemingly) oldest supernatural in school, instead of foreshadowing for the No.1 role.

Mostly because of the way he never mentioned his seat position, Akane wasn't even part of the meeting, and Mirai was not near him like in the extra. Mirai was depicted as any other court member instead of part of the jury.

so I didn't think much about it, my insanity was not activated.

But now that we know is such a fundamental part of their role I am excited to see Kako judge Tsukasa and Nene! I wonder if Mirai's and Kako's judgment methods are different, or if there are different tricks to defeat them/gain their approval.

#ngl part of me hopes Tsukasa and Nene can't pass/defeat the judges #but considering the manga structure so far I doubt it (still hyped for more no.1 lore though LET'S GOOO)

So honestly I think I've seen each of the movies like...twice for Mockingjay 1 and 2 and three times for THG and CF. The movies are basically an opportunity to have gifs displaying events in the book more than movies for me. But here we go:

The Hunger Games: 2.5. I like the opening with the interview with Seneca Crane and then transitioning to Prim's screams. I overall like the casting--they should have gone for POC Seam characters, but Woody and Jen are at least good in their parts and Gale could have been played by a cardboard cutout for all I care about him (which is basically what Liam Hemsworth was). I do like the Crane and Snow peeks. Dislike: Shaky cam. Terrible, nonsensical bread scene. Cutting out Madge. The gruesomeness of their injuries being sanitized. Cutting down Everlark. Peeta lost his cheekiness and endearing qualities (not Josh's fault, it's the script/direction). The cave scene is disappointing. Get Gale out of my face during the Everlark kiss please. Taking out how desperate Katniss was to save Peeta and reducing her to rebelling and him to being an idiot in love was AGH. The ending is also super rushed. And cutting out Peeta being an amputee!!!

Catching Fire: 3.75. I love this movie from the Reaping onward. There are little things I'd change, like Peeta giving Katniss the pearl after the beach kiss so he'd recognize she was still planning on dying for him. But again, good casting for new parts, good expansion with Plutarch/Snow, they kept up the tension and shot the action really well. Dislike: Too much Everthorne (SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE KISSED HIM BEFORE GOING TO THE QUELL AGHHHH). Softening Gale too much (having him save a woman from a whipping instead of being caught poaching, reducing the fight he had with Katniss and his pettiness about Peeta and Haymitch to him just wanting to fight against the Capitol). Not even referencing Haymitch's games was a bummer. And a repeat of Peeta not being an amputee in the Games. This is definitely the strongest out of all of them.

Mockingjay Part 1: 3.25. I like for the movie that they replaced Fulvia with Effie. Jen and Josh are at their acting peak in this movie. Snow taunting Katniss during the rescue and the quote "It's the things we love most that destroy us." Dislike: Once again things are too sanitized. Cutting out the prep team being abused by 13. Also too much Everthorne. They needed to add more rifts between them as it was in the book.

Mockingjay Part 2: 2.5. It's shot well. Um. Idk, it follows the plot of the book so for me that's always an automatic 2 points at least. Donald Sutherland shined in this one as Snow. Dislike: This is when things being sanitized bothers me the most. Katniss should be absolutely DESTROYED at the end of the war, as should Peeta. They screwed up Everlark post-war. Katniss returning from hunting when she first sees Peeta instead of emerging from the worst of her depression and PTSD and grief was a misstep, as well as Everlark not sharing even a kiss post-war. The filmmakers were just cowards when it came to Everlark.

Personally I'm still advocating for a THG animated series. The movies had a lot they were trying to cram in for a movie runtime and were limited in terms of timeline. Maybe if TBOSAS does well Hollywood will come to return to an established property.

Is it just me who's not feeling much hype for Dragons Rising Part 2? Because the trailers really aren't cutting it for me.

And don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for Part 2, but we're also not getting enough hype.

I mean, the hype from the Part 1 trailers would last for days, whereas the hype for the Part 2 trailers will usually last a few hours, to if we're lucky, at most a day.

Plus LEGO isn't really posting trailers that much, and the footage isn't really exciting.

And it sucks, because when we started getting back into the "Ninjago is going to air in 2 months" grind, I was really fucking excited and hyped. But now, I'm not really.

Plus I noticed that more of the hype was coming from the writers rather than LEGO themselves. I mean, I'm glad that the writers are doing that, but LEGO really needs to step up their game, because that's their job to properly hype us up. Not the writers.

We are less than 20 fucking days away from Part 2, and I don't feel that hyped. Which fucking sucks. Because I was hyped as hell for Part 1, checking constantly for trailers, meanwhile now I'm like, "LEGO will release a meh trailer eventually next week"
