Fuck It Friday!

I really did say "fuck it" today and started a new wip. Don't look at me. This one is forecast to be short and sweet though so check back with me in a couple of days when it's over 10k and consuming my life!
Buck wasn’t moping.
Certainly not. He doesn’t mope. Not at all. Not even if it’s been a whole 24 hours since he last saw his boyfriend. The relationship is still new and exciting enough that he wants to spend all his time wrapped up in those strong arms and forget about everything except the soft lips pressed to his forehead.
He doesn’t want to come across as clingy though. It’s always been a bit of an insecurity of Buck’s, that people will thing he’s a bit, well, much. So, instead of grabbing his phone and scrolling through his contacts until he finds his boyfriends number so he can call him and beg to come over, Buck throws himself on his couch and begins to aimlessly scroll through the daytime television options, until he finally settles on Married at First Sight.
He's just gasping at the first dinner party (one of the brides stormed out in tears!) when his phone begins to buzz. Thinking that finally, finally, his beloved is calling and asking to hang out, Buck throws himself at his phone hands shaking with excitement as he turns it over and reads the caller ID.
Christopher Diaz.
Ah well, the next best thing it is then.
“Hey, Chris!” Buck answers, trying not to let his initial disappointment show in his voice. He’s got all the time in the world for this kid, even if he’s becoming a moody teenager with a wit that’s as sharp as a whip, just like his father.
“Hey Buck! Are you doing anything today?” Christopher’s voice is a little tinny through his phone’s speaker, cracking a little. It’s hard to tell if it’s the shitty service he sometimes gets if the wind is blowing in a funny direction, or if Christopher’s voice has started breaking. He suspects it’s the latter, based purely off the phone call he’d received a couple of days prior where Eddie had spent the entire call giggling down the phone about how Christopher had cracked a massive high during an argument about screen time.
Buck hums, pretending to think. “Hmmmm, my diary looks pretty booked. Says right here that I’ve got to watch three episodes of crappy reality tv and then eat loads of fried chicken. I’m swamped.”
“Buck,” Christopher says flatly and Buck laughs, loud and ringing through the loft.
“I’m only kidding. What’s up, kid?”
“The baby hippo has finally born at the zoo and we have to go see it! Can you come over today, please?”
Buck can practically picture Christopher bouncing up and down with excitement as he relays this information. Despite months of insistence that he’s “too old for the zoo”, Christopher has been eagerly following their resident hippo’s pregnancy, sending Buck updates as fast as the zoo will come out with them. Really, he’s been grooming Buck for this trip for months.
“What does your dad have to say about this?” Buck asks, already knowing the answer.
“He says it’s fine as long as you’re up for it,” comes the reply, and Buck doesn’t miss the almost pleading edge to Christopher’s voice. “Pleaaaase, Buck? A baby hippo!”
“Okay, okay, okay!” Buck laughs, hauling himself off the couch and collecting his keys. “I’ll be there in a moment.”
Buck hangs up the phone and rushes around the loft to collect his keys, a hoodie and a bottle of water, all previous thoughts of despair about the lack of contact from his boyfriend gone from his mind at the prospect of seeing his two favourite people.

Okay okay okay so-
I've been scrolling through your Tumblr and enjoying many of your points but I have no idea what you're talking about when you refer to the "lava fissure incident" cause even being obsessed with the show I never read the comics
Can you pleaaaase give me a general idea? 🤠
I have addressed this before in a post that I think was better than this one, but I can't find it because Tumblr will do anything to "improve this cesspool of a site except make the Archive and search function better. If you want to look thorough my posts, have at it. I think I wrote it within the last 3ish years, but if, like me you don't have that kind of time, here's the nutshell version.
There's a scene in the "Love Is a Battlefield" comic where Aang is trying to talk to Katara about the kiss at DoBS, and she is trying to change the subject and get Aang to practice his firebending (you know, that thing he has to do so he can end the war?). Aang doesn't like that she's not willing to talk about their relationship so in fit of temper, he opens a lava fissure in her face.
Aang: Fine! You want fire? I'll show you fire!!!
The scene ends with Aang feeling sorry for himself, not that he let his anger lead him to almost hurt Katara with fire (again! And this time on purpose), but because he thinks he's going to get his heart broken. Because that's the important thing here.
What disturbed me most was how it was framed. We, the audience, are also supposed to feel sorry for Aang. Who just opened up a lava fissure in the face of the girl he claims to love because she doesn't want to talk about him kissing her. Keep in mind, this happens a few episodes before EIP, where Katara- having recently experienced Aang literally blow up at her for not immediately falling at Aang feet and declaring her undying love- hesitates to tell Aang what she feels for him. This scene, with Aang intentionally doing something that could've seriously hurt Katara, comes before the one where he kisses her without her consent. For the second time. It comes after the heartbreaking end of the DoBS invasion, where Katara's father was captured so Aang could escape. And, narratively, this is not supposed to be a major character flaw in Aang. We, the audience, are supposed to feel bad for him!! Had Zutara not been a thing, I would still hate Aang just for this.
The fact that Katara isn't hurt here means nothing to me. This is the equivalent of a guy throwing dishes at the wall, because he's angry, but not actually throwing it at his partner. I've had people tell me I can't use this against Aang because it's OOC.... Is it, though? Is it really OOC for Aang to throw a super powered tantrum because he's upset? Is it?
BTW, could Bryke have been any lazier with that title? Leave Pat Benatar out of this mess, please!

found on nbc is genuinely the worst show on tv but no matter how hard I fight it I somehow always seem to be seated for every episode. but the writing is so bad that I can barely follow what’s happening. i’m always screaming, WHAT? WHY? or, how did you come up with that?!? at the tv. and what’s deeply upsetting is that the premise is so delicious and it delivers on zero percent of it. how do you make ‘lady who was kidnapped as a young woman has now dedicated her life to finding missing people but TWIST! she tracked down her kidnapper and has him chained up in her basement and he’s been helping her solve cases.’
first of all you’re not silence of the lambs and you never will be and also so, what, you kidnap a few people fifteen years ago and suddenly you’re an expert in kidnapper psychology? also when the kidnapper had the main character (gabi) in his basement or wherever she was, he made her dress up like a 60s housewife. instead of doing anything kidnappery or even slightly exciting, he spent all their time together psychoanalyzing her relationship with her father (how did he know anything about her relationship with her father, you ask? it’s never explained) and also the kidnapper (his name is sir) made her have literal scripted interactions with him at the dinner table? like at that point either kill me or instigate a sexual relationship. like fuck. do me a favor honestly, I’m not reading a script at dinner and I’m sure as fuck not talking to you about my dad. fucking you has got to be less awful than that and knowing you there would be interminable pillow talk during and after. but I’m prepared to take the hit if you promise to stop bringing me an annotated copy of the dsm-5 (he really does this in a real episode).
so anyway all of that is incredibly lame. but when we aren’t in flashback mode, it’s also lame. sir is chained up in gabi’s basement, sleeping on a dirty mattress and honestly looking like a goddamn snack, salt and pepper beard, biceps that could cradle a kidnapped woman all night long. every time gabi visits him in the basement, she throws case files at him and he puts on his cunty little reading glasses to glance down at one page and then say something like, why would a man have a secret…and then gabi is like oh my god I have to get to the abandoned warehouse by the wharf and rushes out. sir keeps being like, I know who you are…you’re exactly like me…we’re partners…and gabi is having exactly none of it.
look at the end of the day found is an uplifting story about a bruised but unbroken woman who almost escaped an evil man. she’s a fighter, she’s a survivor, and she does good work saving people that no one else gives a shit about. one day she WILL escape that evil man, for good this time. but oh my god. oh my god please try to be sexy for one single moment. pleaaaase please I’m begging. and the burgeoning flirtationship between ‘the man in the chair’ dude and the guy who’s role I can’t figure out I guess he’s like their security? anyway whatever is going on between them does not count. zero chemistry. don’t even get me started on the woman who waits at the bus stop every night. or the cop with way too much facial hair. Jesus this show is so bad. but like please please please can I get one nasty little scene where gabi and sir get too close and he reaches up to touch her face and she grabs his wrist and they share a moment of super charged eye contact? that’s literally all I’m asking for it’s barely anything I’ve sat through so much of this show for a single nugget of sex appeal please nbc help me I’m dying

Well since it seems I am in my Trigun Era TM might as well make some predictions! Possible spoilers for Stampede(? and some spoilers for the 98' anime (I just started the manga so no worries there). here's what I think could happen to give us a devastating exciting season finale and hopefully tease a season 2, since 12 eps is so short! I hope we get more. also there's a certain gal I would love to see show up ;)
Writing this after episode 9 has come out btw
here we go: I think July might get destroyed for the finale. I'm sure I'm not the first to point out that it seems July is still around, unlike the og Trigun, and it's such a relevant thing I can totally see them going for it in present time. the lost city of July...
Vash knows Nai is in July, that's where they were going, and now Zazie has taken Meryl and Roberto there. hopefully in the remaining 3 eps we get to see how big and crowded the city is, so we can really feel the destruction if/when it happens idk. Nai was able to do. something to Vash in ep 3 that put him in that weird trance, and he might do it again, this time activating the gate thingy so it levels the city.
this poster they released for this season's big climax is not only very cool look at them go, but it supports the idea I think. Big night city fight?? Neon lights and tall buildings and holograms? I'm so down for that nai's got some cake btw wtf
I think Roberto could also die here. I do like the guy, and he is a fun sort of straight man that contrasts well with the colorful personalities that Vash, Meryl and Wolfwood have going on lol but I sense death flags, sorry uncle downer.
He has been quite pessimistic and more or less focused on staying out of trouble, so I could see him getting killed helping Meryl and maybe expressing a bit of hope for a better future, something like that. it could work. Or you know, he could go "fuck this" and retire lmao my man has I'm-too-old-for-this energy
Then we could get some form of timeskip. not super long, anything between a year to idk, 5 years max? I can see Vash disappearing to avoid hurting people again like in the 98' anime after August (Augusta?), and then we get a slightly more experienced, more confident Meryl meeting up with him again. And Wolfwood of course. and hey, maybe Meryl gets to be senpai now! Give her guns! like 100 of em!! Give her Millie!!! Best Girl Assistant!!
There, that's what I think could happen. Now we wait and see, I could be dead wrong. All I hope is we do get a season 2 though pretty pleaaaase? I will miss the blorbos too much otherwise

Ok, here we go twd series finale review, very long i'm afraid
Things i liked:
- The fact that basically everyone survived (except Rosita but im gonna talk abt her) and had a happy ending (except Caryl but im gonna talk abt them in a separate post). I was expecting more deaths, which in retrospective was naive of me cause Twd has always done that, one big death in a finale or even in half a season, thats all. And considering Caryl's ending, having everyone else, or almost, happy is a balm for my heart. Some people are probably thinking that there wasnt enough death, but im more than ok with that. I was sooo freaking worried for Aaron, Gabriel and Eugene particularly that the relief was immense.
- Rosita's emotional scenes with Eugene. Not once in season 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8, could have i imagine things ending like that between them. Not once have i imagined back then the possibility of seing these two saying to each other how much they loved each other.
Contrary to a then popular belief, i always knew she cared abt him deeply: please go see her reaction when he's taken by Negan instead of her in 7.08, she's litteraly losing it. And her anger at him and "determination" with Daryl to "kill him" (pff, yeah, right) in s8 only shows how much she was hurt by his actions. They grew closer after the time jump in s9 and were basically bff by then even if he still was in love with her and had to be reminded later that no, it would not happen. So while im not surprised abt the love they had for each other, im actually amazed they said it outloud, like whaoh, because if there is one relationship in this show that hasn't been ruined but on the contrary has totally improved over the course of the last seasons, it's them. Their scenes in those last episodes were magnificent, and the finale was no exception. They have come such a long way. I bawled like a baby.
The highlight of this moment: "im glad it was you in the end". Excuse me? 🤧😭😭😭
- Rosita and Gabriel: at first it felt underwhelming, like he didnt show many emotions. Not when he learnt the news, that i could understand, he was in shock and it was actually such a fucking beautiful scene... but then, he prayed for her, and at first i thought could u pleaaaase drop the priest act and be the former boyfriend/the father of her child that she needs before dying (i dont care that Coco's not his biological child, and that they were broken up by now, he IS her father. And i loved Siddiq, but u get my point). But then i understood. He was on the verge of crying while praying, and tried to be strong and keep it together for her and Coco. He had to take care of Coco, having Rosita saying goodbye to her and then taking her away before the turn... Acting like a priest and a father, and not the man who loved her probably helped him stay grounded in this. I have no doubt that he lost it and ugly cried for hours in private alone in his room, off screen.
The highlight of this moment: "we will see you again someday". I'm not okay. I'M NOT OKAY😭😭
- Daryl being there for Rosita in a subtle, discreet and moving way. They did share a significant amount of scenes together over the course of the show ( ex: both kidnapping Eugene in s8, both trying to save him in s11c, kind of "funny" in a way) so it made sense that he was there.
- Rosita's goodbye with Carol and Maggie. The OG being there for one of the OG (Rosita is to me by now, in a sense). I wish we have had more scenes between them three..
- The fact that we didnt see who got to take her down before turning. It was not Gabriel who was with Coco. We can assume it was Eugene, and it is fitting, but who knows: Daryl was still behind them. Maybe Eugene could not do it, since he was so emotional, and maybe Daryl did it (a la Dale and Rick, remember? He would be the kind of guys to do this). I loved that we could interpret it the way we wanted.
- The music. It was awfully beautiful the whole episode, and i might go back on this for my specific post about Caryl for example, but the whole music post time jump especially was heart breaking. And then can we talk about.. Landslide?? LANDSLIDE GUYS? Really?? 😭😭😭 This song makes me cry no matter what so you can imagine... in a scene who reminds us of the s7 dinner scene?? And also the one in s1... Please😭🤧 (oh, Yumiko's toast to Luke also reminded me about Abe's speech "to the survivors! " in the church in s5...💔)
- The "we're the ones who live" montage. I loved the first montage too especially since we got to see almost all the people we lost, but the dialogue/monologues of Richonne were too cheesy for me. I would not have minded "cheesy" for a reunion between them or between Rickyl or between him and the kids, him and Carol, etc... but for something that sets the spin off and isnt final, it didnt work out for me (also, since we're paying tribute to the dead in this montage: Sophia and Merle were missing. Hell, they could even have added Jim and Jacquie, Amy.....
But i did like that Sasha was put beside Maggie and Tyreese beside Carol, it was fitting in a way that i cant describe).
A simple line like "we're the ones who live" repeated by everyone made a bigger impact on me than their inner monologue in the first montage. Just my opinion, obviously. And we got to hear Morgan too: the "Morganite" in me kept saying please show him, please show him, please show him... So i obviously screamed when it happened. And hey, we even got a glimpse/nano second of Dwight too!
On a side note, i was soo happy we got more of Richonne than what i thought we would get, aka 2 sec as a post credit. I loved that it was in the actual episode and that it was quite long!
- Seeing Rick again. I loved seeing Michonne too, but i was simply a wreck to be able to get to see him, simply see him, and hear him again. Not because i love him more, but because he left earlier i guess. The wait was longer. Also, not my dumbass realising on a second rewatch only that their timelines were different🤦♀️🤦♂️ (he had the phone, she had the phone... He threw the bag that she found later in the boat just before beeing taken back..)
Plus the line "Consignee Grimes..." with the look on his face, desesperate but determined, and the music behind... gave me so many chills omfg
- Luke's death. Didnt like that he died obviously, but the acting...the acting... it was so good and so poignant, it broke me
- Yumiko and Magna, while i didnt really actually care about them, i have to admit that seing them back together was nice amongst the chaos, and yumiko has been a bad ass with the whole Eugene situation these last episodes
- Princess living her best life at the end with Mercer just like i wanted, her being the bad ass that she is saving her man
- Eugene getting the freaking happiness he deserves, with baby Rosie (💔) and Max
- Zeke and Daryl's hug at the end. After everything, that was nice
- the callbacks: Daryl protecting Judith in her hospital room the same way Shane did with Rick... Giving her his blood just like Rick with Carl... Gabriel opening the gates after refusing to do so to his parishioners when we were untroduced to him... oh my💔 (i was sooo sure he was gonna die here and then by the way... as in coming full circle sacrifice u know... i stopped breathing)
- "At least we dont have to worry about who will get your house" "we already had to make an ugly decision: we kept u alive" KABOOOOOOOOOM CAROL MY HERO
Things that bothered me:
- well, caryl, though not surprising, but its for a separate post because there are still things that i liked, and things that i obviously didnt in this whole mess
- Negan and Maggie talk: I wish this particular talk had been saved for the spin off, so that we could have focused on having last moments with the other two people who were supposed to have a spin off together but ended up separated, u know, couch couch. That said, it was still a beautiful scene: of course she doesnt forgive him, of course she remembers how he laughed while killing Glenn, how Glenn called for her ("i'll find you"💔), and the fact that she still acknowledges he's trying and how she is grateful he saved Herschel Jr's life is more than enough and it would not have been realistic to have her forgive him. Now, we'll see i guess what happens in their spin off...
- i LOVE Glenn, but i would also have loved for Negan to remember that he killed Abraham too (not even talking abt all the things he did because thats not the point i want to make). He didnt have any scenes with Rosita, or Eugene, to be able to do that, but it really didnt seat well with me. And i wanted so bad for Eugene to mention Abe while Rosita was dying, saying something like "say hello to the big bad red- haired bad ass we all miss over here" well maybe not like that because cringe and clumpsy, but i dont know, something, anything, a simple mention for fook's sake. But he still was in the first montage, thankfully.
- Merle beeing, again, mentioned only for the bad things he did. I know he was NO angel, but if we can move forward when it comes to Negan we certainly can when it comes to Merle, who had no real time to be fully developped a la negan but still redeemed himself releasing Michonne and trying to take down the governor by himself, all because, believe it or not, he loved Daryl. So each time he's mentioned, and its rare, its actually to say things like "he would have been Negan" (back in s7 i think or 8, Daryl said that to Tara) which in my opinion is not true (s1 Merle? Probably. But the Merle who tried to kill the governor? Absolutely no. By then, he would have stood up to Negan a la Abraham i think. Especially if Daryl's safety was involved.). Or to say " he made me sell my blood for drugs". Great. We soo needed to know that. I get that Daryl probably have very actual few good memories of Merle (hopefully when they were very little at last), but lets not act like he didnt love him, didnt lose it when he learnt that Rick abandonned him on the roof, didnt cry his heart out when he died (the first time we actually saw Daryl cry i believe), didnt want Merle to try be part of the group... ("I just want my brother back.. " Remember?) No, instead, lets just bring again how shitty he could be and not acknowledge his sacrifice, despite how we keep saying in this show that we're remembered for the last thing we did, hence why its important etc. And believe me, i hated him at first like everyone else. But it seems unfair to me. I would have prefered no mention at all.
- also, how it was just an excuse to explain conveniently that Daryl is an universal donor, when it comes to blood... who knows if learning this in earlier seasons could have been helpful 🤣🙄🤦♀️🤦♂️
- "To Luke", yeah... and to Jules too i guess? Although her grave/stone was shown later along his, and i get that she wasnt as developped as him (and he wasnt even greatly developped himself..) but still?
- Daryl's reaction to THE Rick news: i waited one full season for this? I get that at first he thinks Judith's kind of dizzy and not thinking clear (and he did have a "shocked" look for 2 sec) but when she then confirms it, what do we have? "Is this true ? Yeah? Well im not going anywhere" (!!?). Then he stays for a full more year indeed (!!?) and then he leaves, but while eveyone seems to assume in the comments/reactions i've seen that he goes looking for Rick/Michonne, i took it as "im following Maggie's advice to go explore and oh Jude by the way if i come across them i'll bring them back". IF, he says, not "im gonna look for them". All this coming from a man who looked for Rick's body for years, so much that Carol had to check on him worried as fuck on a very regular basis to make sure he was ok. Yep. I dont know, maybe i missed something?

So um. I fully didnt realise this was eunwoo until he sang in the wedding episode and i was like ok shoehorned in singing scene, this has to be an idol right? (In other words I should look at credits more often T.T) in my defense i only know like 2 astro songs lol
Also im adopting yul T.T hes so pure and helpful and all he wants is a pet dog someone pleaaaase get him a puppy...edit: holy fuck they make him deal with so much they make him pull like 3 all nighters, they rly brought him in as a fake bf... and then take him out as the third wheel xD hes so dramatic about it too acts like hes dying 10/10 oscar for the kid (nvm looked him up hes actually 2 years older than me thats not a kid skskks)
The bullying storyline made me SO nervous i fully thought shed succeed in ruining mr jins reputation (i cant handle storylines where people get unjustly framed for things it proper stresses me out skdjsk) or that something terrible was gonna happen to the poor student as a revenge from the bullies. but also seeing teachers actually care about students wellbeing over the reputation of the school is something that can be so 🥹 you love to see it
I rly loved the school trip episode!!! her coworker is still so set on trying to match her with mr lee skdjsk shes winning the wingman points but not the 'keeping up with the news' points (and also the cotton candy scene. What if i passed away. What if i straight up died. what then)
Oh and the cryptic new shaman girl? Shes def connected to mr lee right, cos shes got way too many mystic powers like he seems to have, what with his teleporting around to scare the bully. Oh and shes tryna break into his basement and all (and ofc yul gets roped into that too, he can never catch a break poor kid)
Edit; hes the MOUNTAIN SPIRIT RIGGGGGHT that explains the magic (i have to say i prefer him with long hair, men should have long hair more sksksk) super curious to see what his angle is since he cursed this family and is still keeping tabs on them but keeps implying mr jins gonna die or smth 😳
It was satisfying as fuck to watch him wreck the conspiracy theory streamer in one flick though, i was chanting KILL HIS ASS at the screen lmao

Finally Nya's season! Our queen, our water goddess, our amazing girl gets what she deserves! 😍😍😍
What I know about the season beforehand is that Nya's powers apparently are getting problematic for some reasons? Which is a pretty common topic in other shows but it's a first in Ninjago, usually the elemental powers don't have focus and I LOVE that we now get to see stuff like that 💕💕💕
I know there should be Wojira involved, trusting The Island to deliver that little foreshadowing at the end of the episode 🤷♀️ Also Maya is back... MAYA IS FINALLY BACK AFTER SEVEN SEASONS YES!!! 😭😭😭
I have nothing else to say, I have no idea what this will bring, hopefully something as good as Master of the Mountain! 🖤

Warning reader, I might be fangirling to an extreme because I love mah girl Nya and I've been wanting Kai and Nya's parents to be back ever since Hands of Time ended. So yeah... screaming alert 😅
At this point I don't doubt that the intro is great, we reached such a level of animation and we got The Fold 😍😍 Love the marine vibe and how it's similar to The Island, because it's a great intro 👌
NOW I like the writing! Maybe they rushed the dialogue's quality for The Island to get here? It's just fun and in character, maybe it's just me but I'm enjoying it a lot for now
How many episodes are in this? Wiki says ten, then I checked again and it's sixteen like with Master of Mountain... eh, it looks good so far so it's fine whatever happens 🤷♀️

Kai grew up more insecure, he got some walls up but loves to take care of others and be taken care of. With a childhood lost he looks forward to a bit of softness ❤❤

pleaaaase tell me more abt ur cutie mark crusaders cutie mark designs i'm so happy to see apple bloom with a potion on hers omg
THANKU!! i just really wanted their cm's to be like. more Unique To Them uknow? and clearly applebloom scootaloo and sweetie belle have skills in potion making, scootering and performing, like even from way back in season 1 with applebloom taking an interest in zecora's work, scoot, yknow scooting, and sweetie doing that big Hush Now Quiet Now number in that one episode, and its shown that they improve and grow in those fields of interest in twilight time where ab does her best to expand her potions knowledge, scootaloo works to learn the ins and outs of certain modes of transport and while magic isnt inherently a performance it Can be utilised for that sort of thing, take trixie or that one part of spectacle where they use magic to alter rara's voice
But i also wanted them to have a like throughline like a linking factor so i decided to keep the shield motif from their canon cutie marks and just alter em slightly, which also links them back to Being crusaders what with the cutie mark crusader cape design w the sheild on it n stuff
so while their cutie marks ARE unique to them, they still have that We Are Still Crusaders! thing going, a "we can work together to help other kids to work at their talents and have fun with them and hopefully they gain their cutie marks Through that!!"
i like to think that outside of teaching at the school of friendship, the cmc's go on to do other things like, applebloom going on to be a full on apprentice to zecora or maybe even a partner in a potion business, scootaloo has a little mechcanic gig going on and does stunt work in her spare time, and sweetie belle goes on to be some form of performer, maybe in more ways than one!! idk endless possibilities!!

so like, it might be possible for a pony to come across their special talent through just the pure enjoyment of working hard at something well enough to gain their whole cutie mark from it or something hehe

10: “You didn’t tell me your friend was cute! Now what am I going to do?”

a/n: this is a college AU! might write more parts to it if people like it, but it’s just a oneshot thing for now :)
“Heeeey Gigi. I have a favour I need you to do for me. Please?” Crystal whined from the desk in their shared dorm room.
“If this is gonna be anything like your last favour, the answer is no.”
“No I swear, this one won’t have anything to do with my weird neighbours.”
Gigi shuddered just thinking about the shit she had been through that one time. “Ok fine, what is it?” Crystal leapt up from her desk, bouncing her way over to where Gigi was sitting on her bed.
“Okay, so, I have this friend who’s transferring from Paris to study here.”
“Is she weird? If she’s weird I’m not in.”
“No, no, let me finish. She’s really cool, I swear. She studies fashion design like we do, and she has a French accent, which is a bonus.” Gigi could admit she was a sucker for accents- but, still, she needed more information than that.
“And what do you want me to do exactly?”
“Alright, so you know that party Jan is hosting on Friday night? Well, my friend wants to go and get to know everyone but she doesn’t want to go alone. So I told her I would go with her, buuuuut I just found out that Dahlia is gonna be there, so there’s no way I’m going within 200 feet of that place.” Dahlia was the most popular girl in the school, and while Crystal wouldn’t say she had a crush on Dahlia - she was the complete opposite of her type - she did find herself unable to function whenever they were in the same room, due to the fact she was, as Crystal often put it, ‘intimidatingly beautiful’.
“Crystal, you know I don’t wanna go to that party either. I literally have an assignment due on Monday and I don’t want to spend the weekend babysitting for you!”
“Pleaaaase Gigi, it will just be one night. Do it for me? I’ll pay for the next five Watch Party Wednesdays.” Now, this got Gigi seriously considering the offer. Watch Party Wednesdays were their weekly tradition of buying Chinese takeaways, a large bottle of cherry cola, and watching the new episode of their favourite show every Wednesday night. And not having to pay that extra cost would really take a load off her back.
“Fine. I’ll do it.” Crystal squealed with excitement, jumping on Gigi.
“Yay! You’re gonna love her, I promise. Thank you! You’re the best!”
When Friday night came, Gigi had already spent two hours on her makeup alone. As reluctant as she was to go to the party, there was no way she would leave the house looking anything but perfect. She picked out a denim skirt paired with a long-sleeved black turtleneck, and tied her hair into a tight high ponytail. Crystal had spent the day with this new French girl- so she planned to swing by the dorm, pick Gigi up, take the two of them to the party, and drive back home. After a few minutes of waiting outside, Crystal finally pulled up and Gigi hopped into the car. Instantly, she could smell an incredibly sweet perfume filling the air.
“Hey Gigi!” Crystal yelled over her car radio. “This is Nicky.”
“Bonjour. It’s nice to meet you.” The girl in the front seat turned around to face Gigi, giving her a wink. Gigi felt her stomach drop. This was not part of the plan. Gigi was expecting to pay as little attention to this girl as possible, and get the night over and done with. But when she looked like that? This party was going to be harder than Gigi expected.
Once they got there, the party was already in full swing. The music was blaring, the house reeked of beer and sickly-sweet fruit flavoured alcohol, and sweaty bodies filled the room to the brim. Jan sure knew how to throw a party. It was then that Gigi felt a hand grab her arm.
“Where do we get the alcohol?” It was Nicky, trying to get her attention over the chaos in front of them.
“French girls like to drink, huh?” Nicky simply smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
“I can probably get you some from the kitchen. Follow me.” Gigi grabbed Nicky’s hand and led her into the kitchen, where Jan was already stationed behind the counter and practically throwing drinks at people.
“GIGI! You came!” she screamed, running over to give her a hug. Gigi had known Jan for years- she was actually the first person she ever came out to. So she was always happy to see her bubbly smile. Noticing the girl standing next to her, Jan looked Nicky up and down.
“And who’s your pretty friend?”
Gigi laughed. “This is Crystal’s friend, actually. She got here this week from France.”
“My name is Nicky, nice to meet you.” Nicky said, with her typical charm.
“Enchanté.” Jan giggled, prompting an eye roll from Gigi. “Yes, I took two years of French.”
“Alright, alright, can we get some alcohol now?”
Jan grabbed whatever pink fizzy vodka drinks she kept in her fridge, and gave one to each of the girls. “Have a fun night ladies!” She cheered, leaning in for one more hug from Gigi. As she pulled her in, she said in her ear- “I swear Gigi, if you don’t end up with that girl by the end of the night it’s a wasted opportunity, you hear me?” Gigi pulled away shaking her head laughing at the bluntness of her friend, but also prayed she didn’t notice how red her face had turned at the comment.
“Ready to dance?” Nicky snapped Gigi out of her daze, pulling her to the centre of the dancefloor.
The rest of the night went by in a bit of a blur. Gigi was adamant she would stay sober, only having one or two drinks throughout the night. Nicky, on the other hand, never stopped. By the time Gigi told Crystal they were ready to go home, Gigi was having to hold Nicky up by her sides, as she lost her balance every time she tried to take a step. As much as Gigi hated to admit it, she found it adorable. Nicky kept looking up into Gigi’s eyes and smiling, and every so often through slurred speech would either thank Gigi or tell her how pretty she was.
“Nicky, come on, Crystal is gonna be waiting outside.” Gigi said, as Nicky kept trying to pull her back towards the party.
“But I wanna stay here with you! You need to dance with me!”
“I danced with you like, ten times.”
“Wow.” Nicky finally stopped in her tracks, straightening up to face Gigi.
“What?”
“I got to dance with a pretty girl! I love it here!” The blonde girl chirped as she perked up and started walking quickly outside. Gigi hurried to catch up with her, and within no time they were both seated back in Crystal’s car.
“So, how was it?” Crystal asked Nicky excitedly.
“It was the best night ever!” Nicky said, a little too loudly. “Thank you Crystal. You’re the best.”
“I think Gigi is the one who you should be thanking, doll.” Crystal laughed.
“But you were the one who set-”
“No, no-” Crystal interrupted, “I didn’t do anything. All Gigi.”
As Crystal pulled up to the apartments Nicky was staying in, Gigi got out of the car to make sure Nicky made it to the door safely. “Bye Crystal, mon amour!” She yelled from her doorstep. “And I’ll see you again soon, Gigi.” Nicky left a kiss on Gigi’s cheek and with a wink, went inside. Gigi practically ran back to the car, slamming the door behind her.
“What the fuck, Crystal.”
“What’s up?” Crystal replied, trying to act as innocent as possible.
“You didn’t tell me your friend was cute! Now what am I going to do?” Gigi was practically yelling as Crystal tried her hardest not to burst out laughing.
“So I take it you liked Nicky then?”
“You mean the prettiest, cutest girl I have literally ever seen? Uh, yeah, you could say that.”
“And this, my friend, is the point where you say thank you Crystal!” She said, teasingly.
“Hey, don’t forget that it was still a favour I did for you, bitch.”
“A favour that I perfectly planned to set you up with my cute French gay friend.”
“No. Way.” Gigi almost slapped the smirk off of Crystal’s face.
“Yes, way. I know, I’m the best friend ever.”
“I hate you.”
“We’ll see if you’re saying that after your first date- which is next weekend, by the way.”
Gigi couldn’t believe she had been dragged into a setup. But honestly, she couldn’t really be mad. Not when she thought about that smile, and that damn French accent. And while Crystal’s favours had been questionable in the past, she sure was glad she decided to do this one.

Laura begs Carmilla to watch the new She-Ra series with her. And, of course, Carmilla drags her feet and complains but eventually relents. They’re supposed to watch the episodes together always from then on. Fast forward to the new season coming out. Laura comes home to find Carmilla watching without her, so completely enthralled she doesn’t even hear Laura come in. Carmilla has to find a way to make it up to an angry Laura Hollis. Bonus points if them dressed as the characters for Halloween can be worked in.

“But I’ve heard it’s really good!” Laura whines. She leans into Carmilla, her nose rubbing against Carmilla’s jaw line, nuzzling her in just the right way.
“It’s a cartoon about princesses, how exactly is this supposed to interested me?” Carmilla asks. No blood, no guts, no glory, in her opinion. Even if she does find the snuggling to be quite convincing.
“It’s about warrior princesses! And cool powers, and magical places, and I’m sure some sort of family-friendly violence!”
“Please think on the words ‘family-friendly violence’ and try again,” Carmilla says with a roll of her wrist.
“Just one episode?” Laura asks, thumb already on the select button.
Carmilla hesitates, a minute of silence rattles her. She knows she won’t win this one, she never wins.
“I watched that horror marathon with you last week,” Laura throws in. Checkmate.
“One episode.” Carmilla’s tone is strict, but Laura knows she’ll soften up.
Except one episode turns to two, because okay, the plot seems a little interesting. And two episodes turns to three because Catra is so relatable. And three turns to four because of the sheer, gentle adventure of it all. There’s no blood, but there’s so much glory.
“Did you want to go to bed?” Laura asks as it starts to get late.
“One more episode,” Carmilla whispers. Laura grins, wide as a cheshire cat.
Laura rests her head on Carmilla’s shoulder and wiggles her body to find the perfect resting place. Carmilla wraps her arm around Laura’s back and pulls her even closer. They put on the next episode, and then the next, and then the one after that.
Soon, the sun comes up.
“So,” Laura yawns. “Just one episode, huh?”
Carmilla, on the edge of her seat, smile across her face, adventure in her heart. So this is what it’s like to watch Saturday morning cartoons, she thinks. She never paid them any mind when they were in their prime. She was too old, too callous for such sweet little past times.
“It wasn’t terrible, I suppose.”
“Admit it, you loved it, just like I did.”
“I will admit no such thing, and you,” Carmilla pauses. She turns to Laura, giving her a soft kiss on her lips, their smiles matching each other all the way. “Will know when to not press your luck.”
“Alright, alright,” Laura says. There’s a certain warmth in her, as there always is when Carmilla is around. Like the first sip of whiskey on a warm summer night. “But we’re definitely watching season 2 when it comes out right?”
“I wouldn’t necessarily be opposed.”
“Yay!” Laura throws herself forward, snuggling her head into Carmilla’s chest. Their positioning is awkward on the couch, but it’s that warmth, that mutual happiness that binds them there. They fall asleep on the couch that night, Laura not pressing her luck, Carmilla not admitting a thing.
- The Arrival of Season 2 -
It’s been a long day at the studio. The storm blew out the power and the generator was acting up. Local news networks and their crappy funding, Laura thinks as she heads out the door and into the pouring rain. She runs to her car and throws herself in the seat. At first her car won’t start, just giving a grating noise as the engine revs. Great. She tries a few more times and finally the old girl comes to life.
The windshield wipers whine against the glass as she heads home, and Laura, soaking wet, frazzled, altogether tired, just can’t wait to see Carmilla when she gets home. It’s her favorite part of the day.
Except today.
Laura walks in, sits down her bag, and strolls into the living room. There’s a faint smile on her face at first, one that’s hopeful for a better evening.
“Hey, Carm,” Laura says gently as she sees her wife on the couch.
She’s startled when Carmilla jumps, clearly previously invested in something. Laura follows her eyes to the television and gasps.
“Is this- is this season two of She-Ra?!”
“It’s just the trailer!” Carmilla yelps with her arms in the air.
“It is not! It says right there that you’re already on episode three! Without me!”
“I just put it on in the background while I was uh,” Carmilla looks around helplessly. She can’t find anything to say she’s innocent. “Okay, so maybe I watched it a little.”
“Three episodes! You couldn’t have waited until I got home?”
Laura’s chest is heaving, she’s dripping all over the carpet, and her face is twisted into an awful frown. Carmilla can’t stand this, it creates a sort of pit in her chest. She frowns as well, getting off the couch, to try and come hug Laura.
“I’ve had a long day,” Laura says. “I’m just gonna go to bed. Please don’t watch any more without me?”
“Of course, babe.”
They cuddle twice as hard that night, Carmilla whispering sweet apologies into Laura’s ear. Laura brushing them off, but slowly drifting closer into her wife’s embrace.
“I’ll make it up to you,” is the last thing Laura hears before she falls asleep.
- The Arrival of the Package -
Two months go by and Laura still brings up the little incident every time she scrolls past She-Ra on Netflix. It’s hard not to, though she does feel bad for making Carm feel bad. On this particular Saturday, Laura is decorating the apartment with halloween decorations when she hears Carmilla enter the apartment. Well, when she hears her practically kick the door down. Laura rushes toward the sound to find Carmilla with her arms full, packages stacked against her face, up her arms, all over the place.
“Carm, uh, what uh-”
“Help,” is all Carmilla says.
“Right!”
Laura scrambles to grab some packages, looking them over, tempted to shake them and see what’s inside. It’s always exciting these days to get mail.
“I present,” Carmilla says, as she drops the rest of the packages to the ground, “Our halloween costumes.”
“Ooo! Really?!” Laura gasps in excitement. “Can I open them?”
“Of course,” Carmilla says.
Laura sits on the floor, crossing her legs and positively beaming a smile. She tears open the first package to find a light blonde wig, unruly and matted.
“Uh?” Laura gestures to it and Carmilla frowns. Of course that’s the first one she opens.
“Keep going,” Carmilla says.
Next, Laura opens a long, thin box. She reaches in the left end of it, grabs on to some sort of handle, and pulls it out. It’s a sword.
“Holy frickin’ hufflepuff!” Laura can barely contain her excitement. It looks just like the real thing, except, you know, plastic. Probably for the best.
“There’s more where that came from.”
Laura puts the sword down and keeps tearing through packages, all of them costume pieces to two different costumes. One is a Catra costume, made specifically for Carmilla. The other, Adora, made specifically for Laura. Laura goes on and on about how great they’ll look at parties, how sweet this is, how thoughtful.
“Does this make-up for that little incident?”
Laura dives forward, careful not to damage the costumes strewn about the floor. She wraps her arms around Carmilla and gives her the deepest of kisses. It’s the kind of kiss that shatters bones, yet gives them new life, all in one go. So as Carmilla rises from the ashes of the kiss, Laura cups her face, holding her there, keeping her in the place she’s loved the most.
“It more than makes up for it,” Laura says, barely a whisper. She’s barely taken her lips away.
“Wanna re-watch She-Ra?”
“Can we wear the costumes?!”
“Laura.” Carmilla says with a pointed look.
“Pleaaaase?”
“Fine.”
“For the honor, of, Grayskull!!!” Laura yells. She grabs all her costume pieces and rushes off to the bathroom to change. Carmilla just laughs.
Anything to make Laura happy.

Catalyst (maybe) translation and reactions pt. 2
Let us continue with the amazing Catalyst episodeeeee.
WARNING: BIG CATALYST SPOILERS AHEAD.
The second part of the episode begins with Marinette going crazy, cooking all the macarons she promised, and she burns them. She wants to transform into Ladybug so she can use her lucky charm but Tikki is having none of her shit hahaha and tells her to be honest.
We see her walking defeated into school, however she is interrupted by a very happy Adrien telling her that his father gave him permission to attend Marinette’s degustation (oh my sweet boy I love you). Marinette does not know what to say and stays silent and somehow my boy assumes that Marinette’s silence means that there is not enough cake for him. Marinette quickly explains that that is not it and that he is more than welcome to come (what I understood from her blabbering hahaha)
They enter together and see that everyone is sad and scared and Rose shows them the aftermath of Volpina’s illusion (which no one knows is an illusion), everybody thinks Chat is dead and that Ladybug is evil. Then the red butterflies start attacking everybody, transforming them into red versions of their previous akumatizations.
(Adrien tackling Marinette and protecting killed me because he put his hand over her head so that if the akumas reached them, they would touch him first)
They discover that the akumas only affect people with fear and we see some beautiful DJWifi hugging and fighting off the akumas. Alya alerts her sisters and tells them not to be afraid and our girl Nora is fighting the akumas without an issue.
Marinette rushes into the restrooms to transform and Adrien tries to do so too, but he is kidnapped by red Gorizilla following Hawkmoth’s orders to keep Adrien safe as a number one priority. (Don’t try to be a good dad now, although, I’ve been thinking if Catalyst has certain control over Hawkmoth could she be the one concerned about Adrien’s safety??? idk)
Hawkmoth gives akumatized Sabrina (Invisible) (I had totally forgotten that she was akumatized too hahaha) the task of following Ladybug because he knew she was going to need help from the Guardian of the miraculouses.
Plagg saves Adrien from Gorizilla and our boy pats Plagg’s little head and calls him a true hero, and proceeds to transform (I nearly cried here)
Ladybug quickly realises she is being followed and she saves Sabrina, who is really happy to see that Ladybug is not evil. She explains what happened (evil Ladybug killing Chat) and Ladybug notices that it was an illusion and that Volpina must be the one behind it. Sabrina says that she will tell everyone not to lose hope because Ladybug is always there.
Master Fu receives Marinette at his door, explaining that it was inevitable that Hawkmoth would undertand the full extent of his powers and that the day had arrived. He opens the Miraculous Box and tells her to choose an ally, Tikki tells her to grab all of them because they would need the maximum help possible, but Marinette refuses because there is not enough time to explain and she needs allies that already know what to do, and she takes the fox, bee and turtle miraculouses.
Ladybug gives Chat the task of delivering Chloé her miraculous. (Finally she can trust him to an extent)
We see DJWifi still hiding at school and they promise each other that when it is all over, they would go to the cinema together, and I swear they were going to kiss but Ladybug interrupts them (hhkerlghhañkrehtlñ). They are surprised that the real Ladybug showed up, after everything that happened. Ladybug says that there is no time to make up an excuse to give them their miraculouses separately and she hands them over in the spot. (We have a DJWifi reveal!!)
Nino is surprised that Alya is Rena Rouge and wants to know why didn’t she tell him and Trixx reminds him that their identities are a secret (lol). (I missed Rena Rouge so much) Nino almost melts on the spot after seeing his gf transform hahaha and he wonders why Alya is not surpised that he is Carapace, she answers something like “I have always known you were a hero” (just get married already) And he transforms too.
Then we see Chloé with some sort of Beesignal on her roof and Chat arrives. She is angry because Ladybug sent someone else to give her the miraculous (?), Chat tells her that she is right and that he will go and look for a better Queen B then hahaha Chloé stops him and tells him that there is not a problem and to hand over the miraculous (?). Chat does not give her the miraculous until she says the “magic word” to which she replies “everybody knows they are “transform me”” and Chat says that is not it, she understands and says (more like screams) “pleaaaase” and she receives her miraculous again. (I can never get enough of Queen B transformation)
The five heroes meet together on top of some building and oh suprise, they see Hawkmoth at the Eiffel Tower. Catalyst wishes him good luck. “Good luck, Scarlet Hawkmoth” (?) And with the help of Prime Queen he transmits a message of how he has an army and that Ladybug and Chat Noir should hand over their miraculouses. With this message people realise that Ladybug was not really akumatized and that Chat was alive.
The episode finishes with the heroes “discussing” strategies and Chat asks Ladybug “So, what will the Heroes’ plan be?”
Daaaaamm this episode was really something else and I can’t wait to see the finale!
