Fixed indoor male, 5 months old, friendly, named Purcy.
We've already contacted the shelter, pawboost, petcolove and other avenues to help find him.
Went missing around Holiday City MHC on 11/16/2022.
He has two distinct features, aside from color and pattern.
Purcy has/had Swimmer Syndrome, this can still be seen due to the splayed nature of his hind legs and clumsiness.
His nose has a very rounded bridge which can be seen in profile.

Nature is resilient if we just give it the room to recover. The New River has been one of the nation's most polluted waterways, thanks in part to severely underperforming wastewater management, compounded by events like a lake of hog manure pouring into the water.
But better water treatment is now coupled with acres of freshwater oysters. These shellfish naturally filter pollutants out of the water, and while they aren't safe to eat, they are helping reverse a lot of the damage done to the aquatic ecosystem here.
This isn't an excuse to keep polluting and then hope someone else cleans it up later; there are still a lot of entities and systems causing massive damage right now. But it is a good sign that people today are trying to fix the errors of the past, and try to make more resilient ecosystems that can continue to thrive in spite of us.

On February 24th, 2021, street division workers in Jacksonville, North Carolina were clearing debris in a wooded area near Ellis Boulevard and White Street when they found something unexpected: a human body. Police responded to the scene, and it was quickly determined that a murder had taken place. The victim was subsequently identified as 34-year-old Jenna Franks.
Shortly after news broke about her murder, it was announced that the case was being investigated as a possible hate crime. Jenna was a transgender woman and had active involvement with the Onslow County LGBTQ+ Community Center. Her death has been a devastating loss for both Jenna's loved ones and members of the community.
Authorities initially did not reveal many details about Jenna's death; only that she had been murdered, and that the FBI was assisting with the investigation. Months later, in June 2021, the results of Jenna's autopsy were revealed. The report states that she was "stabbed multiple times in the neck and lower half of her body."
The FBI has also revealed that they believe Jenna "willingly met up with whoever is responsible for her death, not knowing her life would end." Investigators also believe it is likely that the killer is familiar with the area where Jenna's body was found. On the three-year anniversary of Jenna's murder, a detective told reporters that it's possible that the killer "may continue to live or work in the community."
Investigators ask that anyone who knew Jenna or might have information about her murder to come forward. A monetary reward is available in exchange for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Jenna's killer(s). If you have any information that could help the investigation, please submit a tip.

Tumblr media
Marine Base Shaken by Suspected Homicide In a shocking incident, a suspected homicide occurred at a Marine base in North Carolina. The tragic event unfolded on Wednesday evening within the barracks. The base issued a statement, revealing that one Marine lost their life in a homicide, while another Marine is under suspicion of involvement. As of now, details such as the identities of the Marines, the cause of death, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain undisclosed. According to the base's statement, the suspect was taken into custody at approximately 10:15 p.m. on the same evening. Exercise Urgent Response on the Horizon It's worth noting that the base had a scheduled Exercise Urgent Response planned from October 20 to 28, as stated in a separate announcement on the base's website. This annual exercise is designed to allow tenant commands to practice emergency security procedures. Camp Lejeune: A Hub for Marine Operations Camp Lejeune, located in Onslow County, North Carolina, holds a significant place in the history of Marine operations. It has been recognized as the home of "expeditionary forces in readiness" since 1941, with a mission to maintain combat-ready units. The base serves as the home base for the II Marine Expeditionary Force, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, and other combat units and support commands, as described on the camp's website. Several major Marine Corps commands and one Navy command operate at Camp Lejeune. The Marine Corps Base owns the real estate, offers entry-level and career-level formal schools, and provides support and training for tenant commands. A Vast Training Ground Camp Lejeune covers approximately 150,000 acres and boasts 14 miles of beach along the Atlantic Ocean. The extensive terrain is used for training in amphibious assaults and urban warfare, playing a crucial role in U.S. Marine training and hosting exercises involving military forces from across the globe. In summary, an unfortunate incident has shaken the Camp Lejeune Marine base, with an ongoing investigation to shed light on the details of the tragedy. The base continues to play a pivotal role in military training and operations, including the upcoming Exercise Urgent Response. Read the full article
