right off the bat (no pun intended) oblivion battery really gives us this heart wrenching relationship between haruka and kei like this sport is my everything but its meaningless unless you're by my side and i'll attend a high school that isn't even meant to have a team because if we're not taking on the world together i don't want to do it at all and you're the only one who can catch my pitch so without you this career ive been building towards isn't worth it like its been one episode

The ending song of oblivion battery tells us all we need to know about kei and haruka's past- they started baseball together for fun, haruka was very very good, everyone tried to give him their input in to how to be better, he's like 'yeah it's fun and yeah I'm good but I only want to do it if I play with Kei', and kei's like 'hell yeah let's play together!' But he sees how much better haruka is and that he genuinely has a future in this sport, so he pushes himself to meet haruka's level over and over, he compensates for their difference in innate skill with his observations and strategies to the point that their future's are woven together just like haruka always wanted-
And then kei gets amensia
And all of that is gone
But haruka still wants to be at kei's side

I get that Kei got amnesia and returned to his base form, but please...PLEASE don't make me hate a Mamoru Miyano character.
Please get better later on.

So are we going to talk about the new Baseball Haru who is actually called Haru, but isn't voiced by Swimming Haru because Swimming Haru is voicing Baseball Rei, and Swimming Rin is voicing Baseball Nagisa, and how this isn't yet a real sports anime because Hosoya Yoshimasa isn't voicing anyone (yet)?
