Finished assassin’s quest and it was SO GOOD I loved how it was 400 hundred pages of a sad lonely self discovery journey and then just a fun little gay road trip
#ok#OK!!!!!#I have so much thoughts about this book#I think one of the main things that makes fitz suffer (other than the obvious circumstances of his life) is the fact he’s so deeply lonely#and In the first part of the book he really has nothing whatsoever left other than the desire to kill regal#and nighteyes ofc#but then at the second part of the book. they’re traveling together and suddenly he’s surrounded by people who care about in him deeply#and I think!!!!! that’s what he wanted for so long simple hard work and good company and singing around the fire that’s good for him#he’s so gentle at heart!!!!! and he suffers from loneliness so much and that’s the thing that makes the ending so cruel#like. alone AGAIN?#where’s the fool?#where is he#like u kiss and run away? #date lasted for 2 hours in a coffee shop until closing time and then another hour just. walking home through half the city#started very cerebral which i liked but then deepened into more complex shit which i liked even more#visually and intellectually very much my type#also liked that we were open to each other from the start & said we were both interested & that we're both nervous & both couldn't sleep#(he said that first so can't really have faked it to please me)#scary many similarities down to our goddamn phone backgrounds#AND he's going to see the banshees of inisherin with me and wants to do that soon#we both told each other that we never met anyone like that before that clicked so well which i of course could cynically take apart but. oh#anyway obviously scared that I'm not romantically interesting to him & that we just realised we're going to be crazy good friends but. ok!#ok!!!!!#bitch im getting a third banshees screening out of this one way or another. life is good!
