Alexstrasza lowered her head to Nozdormu and spoke softly. "Unto each of you is given a gift…" "Unto all of you isss given the duty." The Timeless One completed the ancient words without hesitation. They were the titans' last command to the Aspects, a reminder that while each of them was unique, their powers and knowledge were never meant to be separate. They were one. "Time is your charge just as life is mine, but what is our duty?" Alexstrasza said. "To preserve thisss world at… all costs."

Guide Entry: The Dragonflights (Organizations; Dragons)
Tumblr media
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and good with 100 Year Soy Sauce. - Unknown
Attempting to fully explain and detail the immense history of dragons in Azeroth (and beyond) could likely consume many mortal lifetimes. Which is of course far longer than I or Quark shall be around. (Editor's Note: Though in retrospect, I'm not so sure about Quark.) However, given the current state of affairs in the world and recent events within the flights themselves, the Guide will here offer a comparatively brief but informative analysis of the five primary currently in existence and/or will/have/do exist at the present moment of time. (Editor's Note: For explanation of the odd grammar in the previous paragraph, see the Guide entry on the book by Historian Llore titled "Temporal Magic, Time Travel, and Tenses: A Grammatical Adventure") Of the dragons of Azeroth, there are five major flights with each being led by a powerful dragon known as an 'Aspect.' Each of these aspects and their flights were given dominion over particular facet of the powers inherent in Azeroth and reality.
Though the individuals holding these posts have changed over the millennia since the Titan's imbued the aspects and their brood with great power, at this time all five flights are led by an Aspect. The following is a succinct list of the flights, the leaders, and their areas of power: The Red Dragonflight Leader: Alexstrasza, The Life Binder & Queen of Dragons Dominion: Life & Protection of Life The Green Dragonflight Leader: Merithra of the Dream Dominion: The Emerald Dream
The Bronze Dragonflight Leader: Nozdormu the Timeless One Dominion: Mastery of Time & Safeguarding the Timeways
The Blue Dragonflight Leader: Kalecgos the Spell-Weaver Dominion: Guardians of Magic and the Arcane
The Black Dragonflight Leader: [REDACTED] Dominion: Warding of the earth and the deep places within Azeroth Aside from the primary flights, there are also a number of flights derived from these five. This includes: - The Infinite Dragonflight (An inversion of the Bronze flight) - Chromatic Dragons (A product of Deathwing and others' plots) - The Netherwing (Drakes transformed in Outland similar to above) A final note is that like the dracthyr (who inherited this ability from the flights), most dragons can assume a different form, with them often being representative of the various mortal races. If you wish for more information, further reading upon the various dragonflights and other draconic species can be found in the following works: - Draconic Compendium, Vol. I-VI - Dreaming with Dragons: The True History of the Aspects of Azeroth - Encyclopedia Azsunica (A-J) ------ With luck, this has given you some ideas of the draconic folks you might encounter while traversing the Dragon Isles and beyond. Just take a moment to memorize or at least write down the quote provided at the article's opening. It's good advice. - Dr. Osbern von Doomshmirtz & Quark

Laurelgosa/Laura Brightflame, Dracthyr Evoker
Important Stories:
Coming Troubles, New Adventurers: After centuries of slumber in the Forbidden Reach, the spell keeping her in stasis is broken, and Laurelgosa awakens.
Fractured Order: After arriving in Orgrimmar, a chance encounter in the Broken Tusk gets her attention, and she meets Savage United on the boat to the Dragon Isles.
Brightflame, Dim Memories: Sekhi attempts to help Laurelgosa regain her memories with a variation of a shamanistic ritual she last attempted in Ardenweald.
Race: Dracthyr
Class: Evoker
Age: Unknown (over twenty thousand years old, but most of it was spent in stasis.)
Birthplace: The Dragon Isles, Specific Location Currently Unknown
Residence: Currently Homeless
Abilities:
Evoker: Laurelgosa is an evoker, one of the elite soldiers of Neltharion. She is able to use the powers of all five dragonflights, though to a lesser degree than a dragon of that flight would be able to (i.e. she can affect time to draw out a wound so that it can be dealt with easier, or can rewind time to before a person was hurt, but cannot travel through time like Chromie or Nozdormu could without aid.)
Visage: Laurelgosa has two forms. In her true form she stands close to seven feet tall and has blue and white scales with bright pink eyes. In her 'visage' form she appears to be an elven woman with hints of draconic features (small horns, patches of white scales) whose eyes have pink irises with vertical slits, but otherwise appear normal for elves. She actually prefers her visage form as it helps her distance herself from what Neltharion did to her and her people.
Dracthyr: Laurelgosa has the abilities inherent to all Dracthyr. Her scales are essentially dragon scale and very resistant to injury, and she's capable of flight as well as breathing fire. She cannot use these abilities in her visage form and will often transform if she is expecting to enter combat.
Echo of the Aspects: Laurelgosa can, in times of dire need, call upon the innate ties to the dragonflights all dracthyr share to use any one flight's power to it's utmost, displaying an eruption of draconic might. However, if she uses this she loses access to that flight's powers until the end of the next day. The only exception is if a dragon of the flight she's trying to echo is nearby.
Echo of the Lifebinder: Laurelgosa expels a blast of ruby flames before her, scouring all corruption from her allies. The flames will burn away any poisons, diseases, or curses her allies are afflicted with, and the residual heat evaporates any new ones for a short time.
Echo of the Spellweaver: A purely offensive power. Laurelgosa expels a blast of pure arcane energy at her foes. The power tears into them, warping reality all around them and sending their own powers into chaos, unraveling their own magics should they use any.
Echo of the Dreamer: Laurelgosa exhales a pure cloud of healing from the Emerald Dream, and all injuries her allies suffer vanish as if they were simply a nightmare they were having. However, the breath cannot revive the dead.
Echo of the Timeless One: Laurelgosa exhales a blast of sand and temporal energy, and all enemies struck by it are frozen in time, their own personal timelines coming to a complete halt for a full two minutes. Not long, but long enough for her allies to do some serious damage should they be nearby.
Echo of the Earthwarder: Laurelgosa exhales a blast of earthen might, and the very land itself embraces her allies, forming an armor of stone to protect them. This armor will not hinder their movement, the stones moving with them almost as if alive, but will absorb most any mundane damage and take quite a bit of magical punishment as well.
Military Acumen: Having regained much of her lost memories thanks to the aid of her newfound allies in Savage United and Avalon, she remembers the military training under Neltharion with the rest of her Dracthyr brothers and sisters and is able to impart her knowledge of tactics and planning to them. If she and Dareley joined forces in such they would be formidable indeed.
History
Laurelgosa had a rough time adjusting to life following her return to Azeroth. Her memories of the time before the Dracthyr's imprisonment were all but gone and her confidence with them. She felt adrift, like a boat with no anchor or, more accurately, a soldier with no general.
She followed Cinderthresh and Ebonhorn to Orgrimmar mostly on impulse, but found once she was there that she lacked the trust in herself to decide a path forward. She spent several days at the Broken Tusk until chancing to overhear an exchange between two members of Savage United, the undead troll Mola'raum and the mag'har warrior Galdia Grimaxe.
She followed them to the docks and wound up on a boat with them to the Dragon Isles, where she met the rest of the group's members.
After they arrived their landing site was ambushed by the primalists, causing Laurelgosa to fly into a panic as memories of the battle between Neltharion and Raszageth emerged in fragments. She completely incinerated one of them using her deep breath, but the sound of lightning from another struck fear into her as her partial memory recalled the Storm Eater's fury.
Sometime later she encountered the vulpera shamaness, Sekhi, in Valdrakken who offered to use a ritual she'd devised to help her. It was meant to allow people to hear the elements as she did, but if she modified it the ritual could help induce a vision of her past… or so she thought, Sekhi kind of makes these up as she goes.
The ritual worked and Laurelgosa remembered a brief glimpse of the battlefield and the sight of a friend, a drakthyr named Jakrostrasz, dying at the hands of Raszageth and her Primalist allies… but little else.
Sometime later she encountered Sekhi and her friends in the Ohn'ahran Plains on route to play healer to the centuar who were preparing to lay siege to a post controlled by the traitorous Clan Nokhud. Before they could arrive however they were ambushed by Savage United's most dire foe. The warlock Dissonantia.
Dissonantia had laid a trap specially prepared to disable Sekhi and while the shaman was unable to fight back her other demons kept Nitika and Galdia busy as her incubus, Cenoon, moved in for the kill.
However, Dissonantia had a mount. A black dragon she was controlling using fel magic. The sight of this triggered Laurelgosa's memories of the titan device Neltharion had used to control the dracthyr, and inspired such fury in her that she tackled the warlock from the dragon's back and tried to incinerate her head with her breath!
The battle was chaotic, but in the end Dissonantia was forced into retreat and the black dragon was freed of her control, and she offered her services to Savage United.

Chapter 1: The Black Prince
So I'm working on a rewrite for my project and just put out chapter 1 2.0. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions on it
The last black dragon in all of Azeroth was residing in a faraway land, nestled in a mystical continent was a long mountain range that blocked a third of the land from the rest. In this mountain range was a series of peaks that were shrouded in mists. The peaks were home to a narrow mountain pass which in turn was home to a lone tavern. This tavern was a two-story building, had a balcony overhanging a hot spring and was heavily guarded.
This is where The Black Prince took shelter. Surrounded by trained guards and assassins sworn to protect him, in the middle of nowhere on a continent largely unheard of until recently.
The Black Prince. Such an honorable title for such a hated position.
He was a dragon.
Son of a mad king.
He was the last of his bloodline.
The Black Prince had a lot stacked against him when it came to his reputation, that madness and corruption that ran in his blood didn't help.
Still, The Black Prince, more informally known as Wrathion, did his best to alleviate the concerns of the other dragon orders, and the rest of the world. After all, his father Neltharion was not the only Aspect to go mad.
The Dragon Aspects were leaders of the different orders of dragons, called Dragonflights, and they ruled over their respective colors, while none held more power than any other.
The Red Dragonflight was charged with protecting life of all forms. They were lead by the beautiful Alexstrasza, the Life-Binder.
The Blue Dragonflight protected all the magic of the world, helping the mortal races understand and use magic themselves. They had originally been led by Malygos but after the Nexus wars and Malygos' descent to madness, the young dragon Kalecgos had taken the mantle of Spell-Weaver.
The Bronze Dragonflight were the keepers of time. They were led by Nozdormu, who, in an alternate timeline, went mad and became the Infinite but in the current present, stood proud as the Timeless One.
The Green Dragonflight were the protectors of the Emerald Dream, as well as patrons of nature itself and were lead by Ysera the Dreamer.
Finally, the Black Dragonflight, the once noble protectors of Azeroth had been corrupted, twisted to insanity. Now all the remained of them was a horrible memory of their once leader, who was originally named Neltharion the Earth Warder, but would forever be known as Deathwing. The last living fragment of the once-proud order was Wrathion himself, spared of the corruption thanks to the actions of a red dragon.
The Earth Warder, the Spell Weaver and the Infinite, all lost to madness of one form or another.
He understood, to some extent why others reacted the way they did, but he had not yet proven himself to be following in their footsteps. It was not fair to judge him for the sins of his fallen ancestors.
After Deathwing's defeat, ironically taking place on the day Wrathion hatched, the world had moved on, according to the other flights. Since the mysterious lands of Pandaria had been rediscovered in the southernmost part of the world, Wrathion had been interested in the new land. He refrained from exploring this new land himself until some years after its discovery. Partially because he had been so young and he had needed time to mature and learn what he could from his predecessors, save the insanity, of course.
He had begun his life in the mountain fortress known as Blackrock Mountain. The former lair of Nefarian, more famously known by mortals, who were responsible for his death, as Blackwing. Nefarian's lair had provided a perfect hatching ground for a black dragon whelp. With the lower level of Nefarian's lair being submerged in magma. It was in the accursed lair of his half-brother that Wrathion's studies had begun.
Nefarian, in life, and in undeath as well, had been an avid experimenter, his studies and tests had been long and painful on its draconic victims of all colors. Dragons that had been taken as captives by Blackwing's lackeys and were tormented in unspeakable fashions.
Their slow deaths had not been in vain, however, because Wrathion had been able to glean much of the study's results from Nefarian's meticulous notes. He had learned much of the history of his beloved Azeroth within those tomes.
A dozen years passed in a lair he hated even the thought of. Wrathion had noticed early on he was not growing any larger as a normal dragon would. He had also realized at the end of those years that he would need to introduce himself to mortals at some point or another and thus moved nests, knowing he needed a more suitable location for him to begin to work on transforming himself into a mortal so as to hide the fact he was, in truth, still a whelp.
Thus Wrathion had traveled to from the continent known as the Eastern Kingdoms to the continent on the Western hemisphere known as Kalimdor. Thankfully, he had recruited a blue dragon to help transport him via a portal to his destination. His new den was located in a cave that spiraled down for miles and whose mouth looked like a dragon's toothy maw. This cave had once belonged to his half-sister, known as Onyxia, who, while not the scientist that Nefarian was, and had assisted Deathwing by hatching his army of dragons instead.
He spent another six years of learning to perfect his transformation. His human form was a tall, lean human with caramel-colored skin, blazing red eyes, and long curly black hair. He even had something of a beard starting to grow in.
Despite his human form aging accordingly, for the time being, his dragon form remained a whelp. A small black scaled whelp with big red eyes and absolutely no useful natural weapons yet. Small as the day he had hatched. Still, his humanoid form looked like a grown human. So it would be child's play to fool mortals, simply do not transform into a dragon around them and none would be the wiser.
Only after he had mastered staying in his human form for extended periods of time did he set off to Pandaria. He had inherited his father's hoard and was able to fund himself a number of guards and agents. Again Wrathion enlisted the assistance of a blue dragon to simplify his transport to Pandaria. Securing a place to stay and a group of sailing mages he began to set up his studies once again. Pandaria was interesting to the dragon because after so long of isolation the secrets it may reveal to a young dragon were alluring on its own. Plus it allowed for practice interacting with mortals of all stripes.
Which brought him to the present moment. He sat alone at a sturdy wooden table with similarly crafted benches on the long sides of the furniture. To the north was an open archway to the hot spring Wrathion liked to soak in at sunset. It was as close to familiar as he got out here. In the Northeast corner was a staircase leading up to the guest chambers. East of that was a two-person bar. The tavern was staffed by a mated pair, both of the Pandaren race, who were humanoid bears for lack of a better description. The male ran the bar and the female was the one who served the food and drinks to anyone sitting at the table. Given that Wrathion was the only patron in this quaint tavern the male had busied himself with refurbishing the building to accommodate the tastes of a dragon. In the south of the room was the open doorway out in the mountain pass. He had two bodyguards who stayed at his side at all times. One was an orcish woman called Left. The other was a human woman called Right. Right guarded the door to the hot spring. Left guarded the threshold out to the mountain pass while Wrathion wandered in thought, having taken the day off after a particularly daring delve into ancient ruins.
"You have visitors," Left grunted, and shortly thereafter Wrathion heard them too. Turning and setting his elbows on the table so he could listen and watch. Many hoofbeats thundered down the gravel-road pass and stopped outside the tavern. There was shifting in equipment, the rustling of armor, and hushed voices as the mortals approached the tavern.
Wrathion didn't have to wait much longer before he could see them through the doorway. It was a patrol of about nine soldiers bearing blue and gold coloring on their otherwise undecorated white plate armor.
In the center of the organized square of the soldiers were three individuals that stood out. The first was a wolfman. He stood on two feet like a human but he was covered in shaggy gray-and-white fur from head to toe, had enlarged fangs and claws, and bore no other weapons. He wore thick leather armor, which paired well with his stern blue eyes, and his ears were flattened to his head.
The second was a hulking human man with long brown hair, deep brown eyes, and wearing heavy blue and gold armor adorned with lion head pauldrons. He carried two massive blades that were forged around globes of light, a deep scar over his eyes and nose, and a firm set scowl on his face told Wrathion he meant business.
The last was a short, slim human boy with a shock of blonde hair, eyes as blue as the sea. He wore decorative blue and golden clothing. He walked with a cane and a severe hobble yet he was clearly the youngest of the group, but he kept up well with his faster companions. He looked shy and timid, glancing around as though some unseen predator would leap out of the shadows cast by the mountain range to swallow the boy whole.
Wrathion's attention was yanked from the boy forcibly when the big human male stood in the doorway, blocking out Wrathion's view of the other two.
"Dragon," The man began in a gruff voice, gazing right into the eyes of Wrathion without flinching, "I am King Varian Wrynn of the Alliance. We come to ask for your assistance."

Descent of Dragons: Cataclysmic Reveals
Here’s all the non-Galakrond stuff revealed so far. Mostly dragon stuff, but there’s some other things to look at too.
Tumblr media
Draconic Lackey is the seventh and final Lackey. This seems much more like a one mana card than other Lackeys, so it’s introduction might weaken Lackey based decks. Now that the Class Discover Bonus is gone, this is probably a lot weaker than it would have been if it could offer class dragons more of the time.
Tumblr media
Evasive Drakonid is a big Taunt minion, that can’t be removed by spells. Although this probably isn’t a card you’ll want to put in your deck, I think it will be surprisingly strong when randomly generated. You generally want to use spells to destroy minions with this kind of statline, but that’s not an option, so you’ll need to trade, and Evasive Drakonid’s seven attack means you could be losing several minions.
Tumblr media
Twin Tyrant is one of those big chunky curve-topper cards. Like a lot of commons, this looks like a another Discover bait card. It’s situationally good, but outside of those situations, it’s not going to make the right impact. This is a card that would benefit from being able to pick a target, but sadly, such a thing is clearly impossible.
Tumblr media
To me, Emerald Explorer looks a little pushed. It’s got the full stats for a six-cost Taunt, and it also Discovers a card. That would usually cause it drop at least a few points. Maybe now that class cards don’t appear at a higher rate, Team Five are pricing Discover lower. If you’re looking for a curve filler in Dragon Druid, I guess this might work, since it protects stuff, and generates additional resources.
Tumblr media
Dwarven Sharpshooter is basically just Steamweedle Sniper. This could actually be a decent turn one play, since it allows you to threaten most one cost minions, and many two cost minions with instant removal. Whether that’s something Hunter wants to do is another question, but the execution here probably works.
Tumblr media
Corrosive Breath is okay, I suppose. Without seeing the full Dragon loadout, it’s hard to know if this is something worth running. The bonus effect is certainly something Hunter wants, but the real question will be if Hunter wants Dragons.
Tumblr media
Primordial Explorer is an Emporer Cobra that also gets you a card. While the base card doesn’t see play, the extra card generation might push this up in terms of playability, and if you were building a Dragon Hunter deck, there aren’t that many three cost Dragons to chose from.
Tumblr media
Learn Draconic is the first of the Sidequests, and it looks a tad unimpressive. Sure, it’s probably not too bad if you get it randomly, but I don’t think it’s worth adding to your deck. While a free 6/6 minion isn’t too shabby, I’m not sure if spending the one mana to start the sidequest will be worth it. Of course, Mage does have ways to play this for free, so this might not be to hampered by that problem.
Tumblr media
Compared to the other two explorers, Azure Explorer... is bad. The problem here is that the base minion isn’t worth the cost, and the Discovery effect isn’t enough to make up for it. While Mage does have some powerful Dragons already, sacrificing early game tempo for late game value often doesn’t work out.
Tumblr media
Sand Breath is the first of the Breath spells, which gain a bonus if you have a Dragon. Could Dragon Paladin finally become a thing!? Maybe. Sand Breath actually looks okay, since if you get the Divine Shield, you’ll be able to make better trades that usual, and the extra stat boost might let some minions punch above their weight class. This certainly isn’t going to be a game winning spell, but it could help you along the way.
Tumblr media
Candle Breath is a badly designed card. If Dragon Rogue is a thing, it’s an obvious auto-include, because drawing three cards for three mana is absurdly good. Otherwise, three cards for six mana probably isn’t worth it. Sure, synergy is nice, but this is pushing it way, way to much.
Tumblr media
Breath of Dreams is a pre-nerf Wild Growth that cycles. So not only is an overpowered card returning, it’s main weakness is being removed! Really amazing design work here, given that that answer to “Should I run this card“ and “Am I playing Dragon Druid“ are the same. In the Dragon-themed set, it’s likely that there will be another Dragons to have this always be on. Playable? Yes. Desirable? No.
Tumblr media
Inspire is back! For some reason! Although, Phase Stalker doesn’t look to bad, honestly. Pulling a Secret whenever you use your Hero Power is pretty nice, and you aren’t losing any minion strength here. This could end up being a rather annoying minion, especially in the midgame, where it can be dropped and immediately activated.
Phase Stalker isn’t good for Zombeasts, but not everything can (or should) be a winner in all places. A lot of the time you’ll just be getting extra stats, while losing out on an actual effect.
Tumblr media
Dragon’s Hoard is another random Legendary minion generator, because these effects are an easy way to fill out a set. Other than being a cheap activator for cards that care about off-class cards, this isn’t that great. The quality of Legendary minions, even class ones, is all over the place, making this wildly inconsistent.
Tumblr media
Lightning Breath takes a fair card, then staples on an absurd bonus effect, making it slightly more well designed that certain other cards. This is very good if you’re running Dragons, since it can take a large bite out of your opponent’s board. I feel like at least one Dragon deck is going to happen, and it won’t be making people that happy.
Tumblr media
Molten Breath is the bad card of the cycle. Warrior has piles of removal and Armor gain already, and you need to be running Dragons to get the Armor here. I’d give it a miss, unless you somehow misplace your powerful Rush minions.
Tumblr media
Toxic Reinforcements is a Hunter Epic, so does anything else need to be said? This is obviously designed for aggressive decks, since it rewards using your Hero Power, and gives face damaging minions. Except it takes three turns to get your Gnomes, which for an Aggro deck is incredibly slow. Overall, this card has a bunch of parts that don’t really come together to form a coherent whole.
Tumblr media
Sathrovarr looks like one of those win more Legendary minions. While getting extra copies of minions is always a useful effect, it’s hard to pull off when it’s on a nine mana card. I guess you can use Sathrovarr on a one mana minion for a guarenteed copy, but I doubt that will be worth it. If this does see play, it will probably be in slow, grinding decks that can stick something worth copying and will benefit from delaying fatigue.
Tumblr media
Ysera Unleashed is the first of the Legendary Dragons for this set. While this effect is certainly splashy, it seems questionable as to how effective it will be. Not only is it a delayed effect, but that fact that you’re summoning random Dragons means that sometimes you’ll end up with subpar minions. Feeling like there’s something else to say here, but there really isn’t!
Tumblr media
Dragonbane is another Legendary minion that’s just a random object with an orange gem added. It feels like the best time to play and activate this is when your opponent’s board is clear, in order to get that sweet seven damage for two mana. Otherwise, Dragonbane is basically a slightly smaller Ragnaros. That’s not bad, I guess, but it’s also not that exciting.
Tumblr media
Malygos, Aspect of Magic continues the proud Hearthstone tradition wherein reading the card does not explain the card. You can get a bigger Fireball or Flamestrike, plus some other options. Since Malygos runs on a small, specific Discover pool, he could actually be quite strong, since if you want a specific spell, you have decent chance of getting it.
Tumblr media
Nozdormu the Timeless is an four mana 8/8, with a crazy downside to match. But also an upside, if you can survive. The primary issue here is that your opponent gets first use of their full mana bar, so you’ll need to be prepared for that. It’s worth wondering if Nozdormu will end up seeing more play simple as high-value lategame minion, since his main effect might be too hard to work with.
Tumblr media
Waxadred is another long game minion for Rogue, because ???. Notably, this waxy drake is slightly overstatted, and is configured aggressively. To be fair, in a deck that wants Dragons, Waxadred isn’t the worst option. Something that occationally comes back is useful, and Rogue is getting a very pushed draw option in this set. The wording here also suggests that you can activate Waxadred’s Deathrattle to get extra Candles, and thus extra Dragons. Unexciting, but possible playable.
Tumblr media
You can’t have a Dragon Apocalypse set without Deathwing. This iteration murders everything, which I guess is appropriate for a Warrior card. Very few minions can survive twelve damage, so this can deal with a lot of stuff. If you can play this on an empty board, it’s also pretty good, given that it’s an eight mana 12/12. Which is also an issue with evolve effects - this is a massive highroll, and makes such effects even more swingy that they already are. The power level is getting pushed pretty hard here, and it could be possible that it damages the game further.
So... many... cards...
At least it’ll be a while until the next batch are shown. Weird spoiler timing is finally good for somethign.

History
Evolution (before Year -150,000): The Vrykul are an ancient race descending from the iron vrykul, beings created by Titans during the The Ordering of Azeroth. In -15,000, The Curse of Flesh affected vrykuls in many different ways: the Dragonflayer clan of the vrykuls, turning them into organic vrykul we know of today. There are different types of vrykul. Frost_vrykul are made of two major factions: the The hyldnir an entirely female population of frost vrykul, located in the Storm Peaks, and the Ymirjar in central Icecrown who are undead and allied with the Lich King. These were vrykul who travelled to Jotunheim and fought at Valhalas. The winners of this competition are taken to Ymirheim and become Ymirjar. The losers become vargul. The Kvaldir are undead spirits, covered in green scales and barnacles created by Helya in order to serve her in Helheim. The Dragonflayer vrykul also are the predecessors for humans: the Curse eventually led to some of their young being smaller, weaker and “ugly” in the eyes of their people. Their king Ymiron ordered all those children to be killed but some parents couldn’t do it and hid them away in Northrend. In time, these small adult vrykul would form the early human tribes. Another group of vrykul settled in Kul Tiras and eventually became the Drust.
Winterskorn Warring (Year -150,000): Loken subdued most of the Keepers and removed the titan-forged out of Ulduar, the fire giants Volkhan and Ignis sought to conquer the Storm Peaks. They armed the the Winterskorn vrykul to attack other titan-forged across the Storm Peaks, beginning the Winterskorn War. Tyr was alerted when they attacked the earthen. Tyr asked the Dragon Aspects for aid, and the war ended with Ysera and Nozdormu putting the Winterskorn into a timeless sleep beneath northern Kalimdor. After discovering that some parents hadn’t complied with Ymiron’s orders, Skadi hunted them down and killed any of them he came across becoming known as Skadi the Ruthless. In an attempt to stave off the curse of flesh, the Dragonflayers went to sleep beneath northern Kalimdor in areas such as Gjalerbron. The Tribunal of Ages, a record of false history created by Loken claims that he ordered this hibernation.
A Rude Awakening (Year -10,000): After the Sundering, many vrykul were awakened and took the seas: some taking to Kul Tiras eventually becoming the Drust.
Easy Recruitment (Year 27): When Lich King stirred from his Frozen Throne he sent his Scourge minions to swarm across the land, destroying all in their path. The remaining slumbering vrykul awakened beginning with those of Jotunheim. Many of them would come to believe that the Lich King was a god of death, and pledged themselves to him and the Scourge. The Winterskorn clan was made subservient to the Dragonflayer. When they arrived in Northrend, the Alliance and the Horde built two ports on the shores of the Howling Fjord, Valgarde and Vengeance Landing. The vrykul of the Dragonflayer clan turned against Valgarde, launching attacks led by Ingvar the Plunderer from the fortress of Utgarde Keep. In turn, the Winterskorn clan turned against Vengeance Landing. The dwarven Explorer's League began excavating Dragonflayer ruins near Valgarde, speculating that the vrykul were related to humans. Thoralius the Wise, sent an Alliance adventurer into the spirit world to uncover the vrykul's past, where they found two visions of the past which revealed the events described above, thus revealing that there was no "missing link"; rather, the vrykul themselves were the missing link – they were the progenitors of humanity. Other vrykul were seen around Northrend, often helping the Scourge. They held competitions where many elite warriors competed for the chance to become powerful undead servants of the Lich King. The victors were made undead and became known as the Ymirjar, those who were not successful, or who fell in battle with adventurers, were turned into vargul instead. The val'kyr, winged spirits of vrykul women with vast necromantic powers under the control of the Lich King, raised them. Those in Valkyrion aspired towards this state. However, even the vrykul loyal to the Scourge were fighting each other. Other vrykul refused the call of the Lich King, such as a small holdout of hyldnir situated in Brunnhildar Village who reasserted their loyalty to the titans, or at least to the Keeper Thorim. One of their number, Sif, had been Thorim's wife a long time ago, and they held a contest, the Hyldsmeet, to see which among them would prove worthy to rule alongside Thor in her place. Within the halls of Ulduar, a number of vrykul could be found as members of the Twilight's Hammer. ]Loken also used the Forge of Wills to create new titan-forged vrykul, iron vrykul uncorrupted by the curse of flesh, to serve him. By the time the Ashen Verdict invaded to Icecrown Citadel, most of the vrykul loyal to the Scourge had been either killed or wiped out entirely in Icecrown. Some of the remaining val'kyr pledged themselves to Sylvanas Windrunner becoming part of the Forsaken.
Back On Dragon Wing (Year 28): A group of vrykul became elite drake riders who served as Deathwing's personal guard, led by Warmaster Blackhorn.
The Family Tree (Year 30): Lorewalker Cho showed an undead their ancestors and two vrykul appeared as the character's furthest ancestors, confirming humanity's evolutionary line.
Broken Shores, Broken Giants (Year 32): The vrykul of Stormheim on the Broken Isles were ruled by the unnamed husband of Queen Bretta until his son, Jarl Skovald, murdered him with the help of his brothers Voldgar, Agnol, Uldgar. The brothers then turned on each other, with Skovald being victorious. He then fought his mother at Kingsfall Pass and proclaimed himself king. Gul'dan approached God-King Skovald with an offer to join the Burning Legion and receive ultimate power, or be destroyed. Skovald and his Tideskorn vrykul allied themselves with the Burning Legion and sought to claim one of the Pillars of Creation for their demonic masters. To gain access to the Halls of Valor, Skovald perverted the ancient trials that open the Gates of Valor. During the Trial of Might, he shattered Yotnar instead of besting him and tried to destroy Aggramar's Vault so that no one else could know the criteria for the other trials from the titan databases. In the Trial of Will, he enslaved the Thorignir. During the Trial of Valor, he used the Bonespeakers to attempt to enslave the souls of the ancient rulers of Stormheim, forcing them to give their blessing. Odyn, under the disguise of Havi, guided an order champion in their quest to beat the trials and retrieve the Aegis before Skovald. While the Felskorn assaulted the Gates of Valor, both challengers met, but Skovald left the fight before there could be a victor. The champions proceeded to beat Odyn's own challenges within the Halls of Valor, and earned the right to wield the Aegis of Aggramar. Skovald suddenly appeared however, demanding that Odyn acknowledge his claim to the Aegis, a protest that Odyn said came too late. Skovald attempted to claim the Aegis by force, but was killed. Other vrykul remained loyal to Odyn. These Valarjar vrykul mainly inhabited Valdisdall. An adventurer who fought a pit lord by Odyn alongside other vrykul who took up arms against the demons was uplifted by Odyn and made Battlelord of the Valarjar armies. A forgotten tomb named Tomb of the Old Kings contained the remains of several great vrykul Kings. Odyn sent his Battlelord, with the help of Hruthnir son of Magnar, in the tomb to reclaim the armament of the Black Wyrm from the hand of the King Magnar Icebreaker. However the tomb was deconsecrated by the unholy magic from the Burning Legion and the guardian didn't recognize the Odyn's envoys. The Battlelord and Hruthnir fought the tortured spirits of Magnar and his soldiers. Vanquished, Magnar recognised his son and gave the Scale of the Earth-Warder to the Battlelord to avenge his death in fighting Helya. The spirits of Magnar and his soldiers were sent to the Halls of Valor. In the Shield Hill, the spirit of Gorvold Ironbrow was called by the Tahu Sagewind and Orik Trueheart in order to find the place of a powerful artefact of the Light against the demons. The Gorvold's Story led the paladins group to the Tomb of the Old Kings. Inna the Cryptstalker tried to stop the despoilers to enter in the tomb but she was killed by the paladins. In the Shrine of the Truthguard, Yrgrim the Truthseeker, champion of Tyr, and Runeshaper Griselda challenged the paladin's group and lost the battle. He accepted his defeat and gave Truthguard for the future Highlord of the Silver Hand to become the new champion of Tyr. Later, Prustaga helped the Unseen Path to penetrate in the Tomb of the Old Kings in order to find a powerful artifact against the Legion. When they entered the tomb of Warlord Volund, his spirit was awakened. Taking the intruders for thieves, he decided to defend his tomb. When his spirit had been vanished, Prustaga betrayed the Unseen Path and took the Titanstrike. Her next and last move was to lead her vrykul followers to the Temple of Storms in order to absorb the powers of the storm and the makers. Finally, she has been killed with several of her followers by an alliance between Thorim and the Unseen Path. Next, several vrykul from Valarjar led by Thorim, Hymdall and the Battlelord helped to the free Hodir, who was trapped in Felblaze Ingress by Lady Ran'zara and her demons. Sigryn, the heir of God-King Skovald, was prophesized by Eyir long ago to unite the Tideskorn against the Burning Legion. Seeking to make right the damage done by her father, Sigryn decided to fulfill her destiny. She defeated the leaders of the Bonespeakers and Drekirjar in single combat and forced them to acknowledge her claim. But when her brother Torvald, whom she believed was long dead, revealed that the assassination of their family was orchestrated by Odyn himself, which Eyir confirmed, Sigryn was consumed by anger. She let the fel power in her blood consume her and headed to the Halls of Valor in an attempt to confront Odyn. Fortunately, an order champion was able to dissuade her before she faced Odyn, who would not have been kind to her. She apologized to Eyir for her rampage and sought her judgement. Despite her misgivings, Sigryn showed that she possessed the strength and willpower to overcome the fel, something no vrykul had done before. Eyir thus decided that, instead of being punished, she was to assume the burden of the crown, and rule the Tideskorn as their God-Queen.
Free Trade (Year 33): After Zandalar opened its port to non-trolls, a group of vrykul traders arrived to sell their wares. Enges, a vrykul Fjarnskaggl trader can also be found in Boralus Harbor.

Top 5 best dragons
For @naddle12. Not the strongest, the smartest or the prettiest. Simple the 5 best dragons there are.
5. Yarzilraku - And for that matter, every other Netherwing dragon. But Yarzil the Merc was brave, hidden within the enemy lines, looked like a goblin, and for the complete record, he saved our asses.
4. Chronormu - Damn cute. Easily to be read as trans or nonbinary which is really dope to have this thing without it being a Thing. Kind, bit tricksterish. Chronormu is a precious cinnamon roll who is strong enough to erase us from the historz and we must protect her and her two braid-buns.
3. Ebyssian - Everyone raise ‘em up for our favorite spiritwalker! No seriously, Ebonhorn is the sole reason I did the Highmountain storyline.
2. Wrathion - The fandom’s problematic bae, and also Anduin’s legal husband and dragon-scarf.
1. Nozdormu - A big thing here is that I like him a lot. His future is damn tragic, so he gets bonus points here. His elf form is damn hot (I’m still pretty sure he’d be hotter as a troll, but I work with what they gave me). Timeless. Also have you seen that skirt of his? Have you heard his pissed off quotes? Like, he is an ordered version of Chronormu who comes with not-annoying not-gnome voice.
Honorable mention: Sindragosa - Uh, excuse me, I think I¨m going to sob violently in the background now.

i don’t want to keep piggybacking off of quest’s post anyway! Tyr asked the Dragon Aspects for aid, and the war ended with Ysera and Nozdormu putting the Winterskorn into a timeless sleep beneath northern Kalimdor. WC Chronicles, Vol. 1, pages 60-61. This was before the shattering, before Northrend became Northrend.  (The Winterskorn return circa WotLK, but there’s no way to determine whether or not all of the Vrykul returned to the surface in Northrend post-shattering- the land was “shattered’ after all. The Vrykul that refused to kill their deformed children (the humans) are never said to have completely died out. It could easily be said that Skadi the Ruthless slew all of them,(Mentioned in the dungeon journal for Skadi; he hunted them down.) but because it was never made clear that they All died, then it could also be said that they fled somewhere and inhabited a distant island to keep from death. “Most of the vrykul that had settled in Tirisfal Glades enventually died off or succumbed to the curse of flesh. The members of Tyr's Guard decided to induct some of the new humans into their ranks, to ensure the future of the group. They taught these new members the history of Tyr and the truth about the tomb.“  (Mentioned in the Libram of ancient kings.) It’s never stated that they all died off, however. In an effort to stave off the curse of flesh, the Dragonflayers went to sleep beneath northern Kalimdor in facilities such as Gjalerbron.  Not even the sundering woke them. This raises the same arguments as with the Winterskorn. Then there’s the possibility of those Vrykul who roused but had no desire to follow the Lich king- it would have been simple for them to simply sail away from Northrend. It also would have been simple for those who left in search of their ‘True Gods’ to simply grow quite lost. Many of their endings are left ambiguous and would be easily built upon if one cared to.
