And here we are! My Rusty Quill Gaming crochet blanket. It was made for the fanzine titled Look Out! Lots of Magnificent Gifts by The Ones Who Got Away ( @towga ). And I couldn't have done it without the incredible help of my friends @sugar-peanut-cat, who crocheted a significant portion of the squares, @mori-stuff who helped me find good quotes to use and made sure they were well and truly accurate to the source, and of course @apolloborealis who ignited my excitement for this blanket, helped me with choosing colours for the over 200 episodes, and last but not least made the center square with the highly impressive embroidery of the Rusty Quill Gaming logo. Thanks folks!!!

ID: a 20 squares wide and 23 squares long solid granny square crochet blanket based on Rusty Quill Gaming. Diagonals alternate between being multi coloured with quotes on the squares (representing all 218 main campaign episodes as well as the Ancient Rome sidequest, ordered from left to right, top to bottom), and being solidly white, grey or black (alternating by diagonal between those three). In the center is a four by four sized black square with the Rusty Quill Gaming logo embroidered on it. Blue veins run across the blanket, increasing in density near the bottom and especially the bottom right corner. There are noticably more quotes filled in near the top than near the bottom. End ID

Some interesting thoughts about Rusty Quill gaming characters.
All three who went on the boat in Dover went on to have their own happy endings. Zolf went on to have his life with Oscar. Hamid became a mediator/politician. And Sasha went on to found the Harlequins in Ancient Rome. Each took a leap of faith in joining Zolf during his own personal test, and each were rewarded in kind for their devotion to the betterment of the world. Bertie on the other hand took his own path and did not receive any happy ending.
Grizzop saving Sasha in Ancient Rome was also a similar test of faith as he embodied the will of his patron Artemis. He did what he could with the time he had and chose to sacrifice himself for Sasha. It’s worth noting that he had faith in a god, and an afterlife to progress towards throughout his life, Sasha didn’t and probably wouldn’t receive a mostly favorable outcome if she died. So Grizzop gave her the final gift he could, Time. Time to live out her life on her own terms and have a future, while giving her time to figure out her own path.

The way part of me sees Nick Galitzine as Ernie because of you, but two other parts of me are seeing Ross Lynch or Evan Peters. I can't make up my mind
oh wow, i never thought of evan peters as ernie! i can kind of see it but i went through a phase of seeing evan peters as evan rosier (solely because of the name) which kind of skewers my view.
comparing him to original ernie i can definately see the vision. evan peters also strikes me as a possible zacharias smith fancast as well, he's giving me strong hufflepuff vibes.
i think i've heard of ross lynch as ernie before but he's just not selling me like evan peters is
the facial structure is quite similar but one of the reasons my personal ernie fancast is nicholas galitzine is because of the "upper class" vibe he has in his gif's and images. something about his vibe just sells him as ernie for me
i think the vibe a fancast gives is the most important, one actor might have the perfect resemblance and one might have the perfect vibe and i'll always go for the vibe 😔👊 case two is blaise zabini who does have a lot of good fancasts out there like reece king, lucien laviscount, or my personal favourite, rome flynn, but louis cordice's blaise zabini's vibes are simply off the charts which is why despite his very limited gif sources i insist on using him as blaise zabini in my writings.

Props to Walter Slezak, who is the only person in the cast of The Pirate who knows how to pronounce the name of the heroine. Everyone else refers to Manuela (Judy Garland) as "Man-you-ella." Manuela is a young woman in the Caribbean village of Calvados who is engaged to the town's portly, middle-aged mayor, Don Pedro Vargas (Slezak). Her head is full of tales of the dashing pirate Macocco, aka "Mack the Black," and she fantasizes about him taking her away from the village for a life of adventure. Don Pedro, however, likes the village perfectly well and never wants to leave. Visiting the city of Port Sebastian to have her wedding gown fitted, Manuela encounters a traveling player named Serafin (Gene Kelly), who falls for her, and during his act he hypnotizes her, hoping she'll fall in love with him. Instead, she reveals her passion for Mack the Black. Serafin follows her with his troupe to Calvados, where he recognizes Manuela's fiancé as the real Macocco, retired from piracy and hiding his secret past. From there, the plot thickens into a series of complications as Serafin decides to win Manuela away from Don Pedro by pretending that he's the real Macocco. It's not a bad premise to hang a series of songs and production numbers on, and there's some spectacularly athletic dancing by Kelly and Garland is in fine voice. The songs by Cole Porter are not his best work, however. The lyrics are sometimes silly: "Niña," for example, rhymes the name Niña with "neurasthenia" and "schizophrenia." Only "Be a Clown," which Kelly dances to first with the Nicholas Brothers and then with Garland, has had any life outside the film, and that mostly because producer and songwriter Arthur Freed notoriously copied it for Donald O'Connor's "Make 'Em Laugh" number in Singin' in the Rain (Kelly and Stanley Donen, 1952). Garland's increasing emotional problems, which worsened after she experienced postpartum depression following the birth of Liza Minnelli in 1946, also affected the production. The film feels a little disjointed and the ending feels perfunctory, a reflection of some script problems and cost overruns. It wasn't a box office success. Still, it has moments that are as good as any of the more successful Freed Unit productions.

The White Label Auction in Aid of The BRIT Trust – the world’s only known auction of “white label” test pressings – takes place next week on Tuesday, 6th June 2023. This year it will have more than 200 lots of highly collectible ‘white-label’ test pressings – the most offered in the four editions of the auction to date since it began in 2019.
The online/on-site auction is once again being hosted by music memorabilia and vinyl records specialists Omega Auctions from their Newton-Le-Willows (Greater Manchester) base. The full catalogue can be accessed here.
Fans and collectors can bid from a huge selection of white label test pressings that rarely come to market, with some even signed by the artists such as The Cure, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, New Order, and Wilko Johnson.
The UK’s record labels led by Universal Music UK, who founded the event with the BPI, along with BMG, Domino Recordings, Cherry Red, Sony Music Entertainment UK, Warner Records and others, each year join forces to curate a broad selection of white label auction lots to raise funds for the vital work of music industry charity The BRIT Trust – which promotes education and wellbeing through music and the creative arts to support causes that include the BRIT School and Nordoff and Robbins.
In January the BPI reported that vinyl albums had recorded a 15th year of consecutive growth in the UK, with over 5.5m LPs purchased in 2022. This rising demand for vinyl has in turn resulted in a growing archive of white label test pressings – so called because there is no sleeve artwork at this early stage – which record labels produce ahead of the full release of an album to ensure its audio quality. With only a handful produced, these first-off-the-press copies are snapped up by collectors on the rare occasions they become available, as evidenced by the huge interest in the three White Labels Auctions to date, which between them have raised around £100,000.
