Here There be Monsters: Creature Basic Intros (Part 3)
Ichabod
Capran, any pronouns.
A friendly Creature whose species is widely known for enjoying tricks, humor, and wild company. Ichabod is even friendlier than the average Capran— anyone who treats him kindly can expect a close companion for as long as they'll allow him to stay.
His mind works quickly enough to run in circles more often than not. The bizarre things that come out of his mouth are usually hilarious, but it's impossible to understand what he's thinking. He's adaptable, good-natured, and eternally trusting of anyone he decides is "good". With a fondness for human culture (especially media), he's determined to adapt to "society" and make friends.
5'5. Surprisingly stocky build for his height, though he never seems to put on weight no matter how much he eats. Thick, ginger-blond hair that fights any comb, gauges in his ears, and a wild spattering of freckles over his skin. Yellow eyes with a goat's signature square pupils, and thicker body hair than a human.
Filch
Goblin, he/him.
The definition of a remorseless troublemaker, his uncanny skill for knowing exactly how to get under people's skin is truly loathed. He's capable of invisibility, shapeshifting, and intuition, but only uses his skills to cause problems for those around him.
Filch is the kind of disrespectful and careless that makes enemies at every turn. He lives for entertainment, but his annoyance-based sense of humor turns that simple goal into a constant problem. He has a habit of stealing, not out of greed, but purely for the sake of the problems his theft will cause. Forever living in the moment, he's both easy to please and immaturely reckless.
4'11. His teenage-like appearance is far from his true self, but Filch's dark, greasy hair, dull eyes, and taunting smirk fit the part well. His pointed, oversized ears and sharp teeth are more unusual, though, and the rasp in his voice doesn't fit his surprisingly youthful face. Somehow, he always seems dirty.
Mithri
Naga, they/them.
Their species, the Anatolian Naga, has venom that can supposedly be transformed into a cure-all antidote. Unfortunately, they tend to be exceedingly prideful and uninterested in human well-being. Supposedly, they have supernatural intuition for medicine as well.
Mithri is the kind of self-centered person who believes that they can do no wrong. They have the utmost confidence in their own abilities, and take every perceived slight against them as a mortal sin. They're vindictive and quick to lash out at others, but their ego doesn't make up for the terrible luck that follows them.
6'0. Tall, slender, and graceful, with the kind of lean muscle that contains far more strength than it looks. Brown skin, copper eyes with slit pupils, pointed ears, prominent canine fangs, and hip-length aqua hair often worn in complex up-dos. Their face is almost inhumanly beautiful, but their expressions are mean.
Senka
Shadow Beast, any pronouns.
A shapeshifting Creature known for its unmatched speed, and often associated with children, dark nights, and sudden visions. Though Senka's species usually hides in the shadows, when one bonds to a human, they're protective and fiercely loyal.
Their silent stare comes off as intimidating, but in reality, Senka is more impassive than volatile. An observer who prefers not to get involved with complicated problems, they follow orders with frightening efficiency and seemingly no thoughts of their own. However, they can be surprisingly patient with children and younger Creatures— especially those who can do the talking.
5'10. Dark skin, void-black hair, and piercing red eyes that glow with an unnatural light. Their exact appearance is difficult to precisely pin down— even their facial features fade from memory once you stop looking at them. Athletic, muscular body, sharp teeth, and a creeping darkness that follows their steps.
Eberhardt
Dire Boar, he/him.
His species was commonly hunted by humans throughout the Middle Ages— their strength and aggression made them a valuable trophy prize for the wealthy. Due to living in isolation, he has a highly outdated idea of how human society now functions.
Outwardly, Eberhardt comes across as a reserved, relatively polite man who speaks little and follows orders well. Though he's exceedingly loyal if he respects someone, most people are met with stony disdain. He has a strong dislike of certain humans (especially hunters) and a bad habit of getting a bit carried away when using his strength. His brutality is truly outstanding.
6'2. Impressive in both stature and build, with the aura of a battle-hardened knight. His hair is sandy brown, his one remaining eye is a deeper, warmer shade of the same, and he has a variety of prominent scars scattered across his face and body. Though he's technically rather handsome, his expressions are far too cold.

You should talk about your ocs here more often :3. I feel like a lot of people who like your KnY content would like HTBM, so... Which Here There Be Monsters characters do you think would fit the best as a demon in a Kimetsu au?
Thank you!!! >w< I really should try to talk about them more, and I very much appreciate the prompting to do so~ For the sake of keeping this post from getting too carried away, I'll only be taking non-human characters into account; feel free to ask about the Mages separately, if you'd like.
(For context/Oc info, check @phantasmagoriaoriginals)
. . .
Skorpion — Her personality, to begin with, consists of picking fights with as many people as possible and eating things she shouldn't. She'd do great as a demon... though her reckless, persistent harassment of every Hashira she can find might not lead to a very long lifespan as one. Not that she'd care too much about dying...
Suu — Tbh, he wouldn't be all that different as a demon. Same merman-like appearance, same zero braincells, same life strategy of hiding out in the deepest river he can stake his claim on and devouring anyone unfortunate enough to go in the water... He'd be happier as a demon (downsides included) than a human, by far.
Jericoh — Douma vibes, but more "scam artist/crime boss" than "cult leader". Takes way too much pleasure in tormenting poor, helpless, stupid humans who can't fight back. Probably collects Nichirin swords as trophies/to fulfill his sparkly-valuable-objects fetish. Either evades detection for centuries, or gets his ass in trouble REAL quick.
Mithri — Smug snake bastard is now a picky-eater demon who's actively offended when humans aren't honored to be devoured by them. Vain to an extent that makes Gyokko look modest, they'd likely end up picking constant fights with Slayers out of sheer spite. They'd have poison-based abilities, with dreadfully versatile tactics.
Cinnabar — They'd be one of those demons that looks far too much like a person/child (and takes advantage of that). Definitely sets mass wildfires/burns down entire towns just to munch on the charred corpses afterward. Doesn't have much interest in direct combat, but finds it hilarious to watch hopeful, determined Slayers burn alive after not landing a single hit on them. Uncontrollable in a dangerous way; Muzan would probably get sick of them very quickly.
Kegare + Kiyomi — These two have to stay together regardless of the Au (do not separate, as the joke goes), so I can picture a sort of Daki and Gyuutarou-ish situation for them. Kiyomi would likely be the stronger one of the two in this setting (mostly due to how many humans they'd eat), but Kegare is the one going out of his way to cause as many problems as possible (especially for the Slayer corps).

WHG 19 Prompt 3 Mal
Tagging: @ratracechronicler, @maple-writes, @pen-of-roses, @drabbleitout, @clocksandchaos, @knmartinshouldbewriting, and @forthesanityofsome!
I sat in the visiting room hunched over with my hands clasped, hoping no one came. The only people who would come would be my parents, and if they came, I couldn’t promise I would stay civil.
But of fucking course the door opened, and I looked up, but the visitors weren’t my parents. I had only seen them once before, seven years ago.
Two Celestials walked into the room, and I knew that because the scales covering their skin looked like the night sky and their hair acted like they were constantly underwater. One of them had long, blond hair and dark brown eyes. And the other had long, mint green hair in a braid and dark purple eyes. The latter stayed back, leaning against the wall next to the door.
The one with blond hair walked forward. She bowed her head and sat down across from me. “My name is Esha and that is Mithri.” She gestured at the Celestial behind her. “Is there anything I can explain for you, Malice?”
I snarled at my name. No fucking way would I be polite to these bastards. I spit at her. “Go fuck yourself.”
Mithri laughed. “At least we have someone interesting to work with.”
Esha grimaced. “So, it’ll be like that, will it?” Before I could retaliate, she flicked her fingers and golden light, looking like ropes, wrapped around me and squeezed. It burned at my clothes, and I cried out when it touched my skin. Fuck.
She walked over to me to lean close to my face. “I could use this to cut you into pieces right now,” she growled. “We could easily start over if we need to. We don’t need you, child. You aren’t special. So, I would learn some manners quickly.”
Fuck, my eyes were watering as the ropes burned all the way through my clothes and burned my skin there too. I wanted to muster up the courage to be defiant, but instead, tears streaked down my cheeks. Fuck. “So why haven’t you?” I choked out. She just glared and squeezed her magic ropes tighter.
“Hey! What are you doing? Tributes aren’t allowed to be hurt before the Games.”
I looked over and stared. Sabre stomped into the room, her head held high and her chin jutted out. She crossed her arms as Mithri and Esha looked back at her with surprise. She shoved Esha out of the way and stood between us, and she was taller than either of them. She looked so confident. Did she know who they were?
Esha stared at her and tilted her head. “You’re an interesting one. I’ll keep an eye on you.” But she did release her magic, and they both left.
Once they closed the doors, Sabre turned back to me, kneeling down so she could check out my burns. I didn’t care, but I could just imagine my parents screaming about how ruined the suit was. She looked up at me. “Are you okay? I bet there’s some kind of first aid kit on the train.”
I just stared at her for a bit longer before I could finally find my voice. “I…I’m okay. Why would you do that? They’ll hurt you.”
She smiled a little. “If they can. Don’t worry about me. I’m…” She hesitated. “Well, I’m not planning on hurting anyone, and everyone will find out about this eventually, so I might as well say that I’m immune to any injuries, at least from what I can tell. So, I wasn’t worried.”
I stared at her for a bit. A human having magic? “Well, I’m not planning on hurting anyone either, so you don’t have to worry about me.”
She grinned and held out her hand for me to shake. “Wonderful! I’m Sabre! Maybe we could figure out how to escape!”
I couldn’t help but smile back, even though there would be no escape for me unless she could pull out a miracle. “My name’s Mal. It’s nice to meet you.”
She shook my hand excitedly. “Oh! Also, I can shapeshift into any animal.” Before I could process that, she turned into a large, fluffy dog and sat down at my feet, wagging her tail. I just stared, trying to wrap my head around it, but I finally gave up and just petted her head, and she wagged her tail more.
We stayed like that for a couple minutes, but Sabre shapeshifted back right before the Peacekeeper opened the door, and I had to scramble to not make it look like I had been petting her. My cheeks burned as the Peacekeeper poked her head in. “It’s time to leave.”

A big part of the story I want to write about her is about control, control when the world would give her none of it. When she just keeps getting funneled into things that she can't be prepared for. When people define how she’s viewed due to preconceived prejudices against elves. When she is placed into a role that props her up as a herald for a god that isn’t her own. How does she fight back for control over her own identity? And when does she hold her ground and when to save her energy for another day. Part of her identity as an arcanist is that it’s the one thing she has complete control over, so she relies on her tinkerer's brain to find the solutions she needs.
Anything else we should know?:

Marvel Dæmonen Part 3
Steve Rogers & Penny
Tumblr media
Dachshund (Canis lupus familiaris)
“No. I said it before and I say it again: This is a bad idea. And I absolutely refuse to step into this coffin!” Penny valiantly tried to stop her human by standing on her hind legs and stemming her small front paws against one of his legs.
“You don’t need to, Penny. Only I do.” Steve gently patted her head, before setting her aside and taking a step in the direction of the machine.
Not to be deterred the dachshund hopped into his path again, barred her teeth and growled at her other half in open defiance. For a short moment he looked surprised.
“Listen to me, Steve! This thing could separate us! This could kill me! This could kill you! This could kill us!”
His mouth set in a firm, determined line he stepped over her.
“Professor Erskine wouldn’t do that to us. This is our chance to serve our country. To serve something great. And I will take it.”
“You’re to naïve!”
Still growling in annoyance about his stubbornness she grabbed his pant leg in her teeth and pulled as hard backwards as she could. Not that it stopped the asthmatic teen.
Peter Parker & Mithri
Tumblr media
Woodland Jumping Mouse (Napaeozapus insignis)
“Hurry, hurry! We’re gonna be superheroes, Pete! Heroes, Pete! Put it on! Put it on! Put it on!”
“I know, Mi! I know!”
Just as excited as Mithri Peter grinned at his bouncing dæmon, before pulling the mask over his head.
“How do I look?”
“Whoa! Whoa! Cool! So cool! Let’s go! Let’s go!” After jumping up and down on the bedpost a few more times in exuberance the little mouse took one leap and clambered into the right pocket of his hoodie, stretching out one front paw in a heroic gesture, while looking up at him.
“Go, go, go, go!”
Breathless laughing Peter made sure she wouldn’t fall out, before taking a few steps back for a slight running start to jump out of the window.

WHG 19 Prompt 1 Iggy
Tagging: @ratracechronicler, @maple-writes, @pen-of-roses, @drabbleitout, @clocksandchaos, @knmartinshouldbewriting, and @forthesanityofsome!
“C13SO, power on.”
I opened my eyes, sight being the first sense that worked once someone powered me on. My machines hummed as they turned on, and I smiled when I could. It was such a familiar sensation, I often wondered how humans felt not having machines.
I was in the government building, and a quick scan revealed that we were in the basement. The two people watching me were the Celestials who had been working on a different part of the project Sheene had made me for.
The Celestial with long, blond hair and dark brown eyes walked up to me. Oh! Did I mention both Celestials had scales covering their skin that looked like the night sky, and their hair floated like they were in water?
A quick scan confirmed her name to be Esha, though. Her face betrayed no emotion somehow. She stopped in front of me and stared down at me. “Have you been briefed on your mission?”
I shook my head, and the other Celestial laughed. They had mint green hair tied back in a long braid and dark purple eyes. “Why would they brief a machine, Esh?” Their name was Mithri.
She huffed, brows furrowing, even though her vitals betrayed she wasn’t really annoyed. “Let me brief you now. You are a battle android, sent here to be a mentor to the tributes of District 12. This is a test to see how well you’ll do when you replace humans permanently.”
Oh, that sounded lovely! I had seen some videos of the humans in the districts, and they looked overworked and exhausted. If I could help replace them, they would be able to relax! It would be perfect! I had other android friends, and they had been sent out a week sooner than me. They had to be getting tested to see if they could replace humans too!
I grinned, and both Esha and Mithri watched me with deeper frowns. Confusion? Yes, that had to be confusion. Why? “I’m so excited! I’ll do the best job I can! Is there anything I need to know about being a mentor?”
Mithri sighed and shook his head, muttering, even though I could hear what he said. “Humans make the weirdest shit.”
Esha nodded, not looking as bewildered. “Do you know the purpose of the Hunger Games?”
I did, even though it was very sad, and I didn’t know how I felt about it. Should I be feeling any emotions at all? But a pang of what could only be called sadness settled in my abdominal cavity as I spoke. “Yes, it is to remind the districts of their rebellion and the devastation it caused by killing 23 children from the districts and elevating one as the victor on an arbitrary set of rules that don’t always test to see if the victor has the best skill.”
They both stared at me again, and I froze, a whine building up in my throat. I wasn’t supposed to say that, was I? It had always just seemed so ridiculous and wasteful to kill children for the sins of a generation that was long dead. And what did that say of the government who kept it going? But I couldn’t say that out loud! The Capitol had given me life. They could just as easily take it away.
Esha sighed finally. “You don’t want to be saying that out loud where the Peacekeepers can hear, yeah? Just do your mission with no complaints, and I will be satisfied.”
I nodded. The mission. I had to fulfill my mission. “Thank you. I apologize for my words. I will train the tributes and do my best to keep them alive as long as I can!”
My machinery whirred when Esha smiled. “That’s all I ask. The Reaping is about to start. Would you like to be there for it?”
I would like to see it, but it wasn’t about what I wanted. “I think it would be more beneficial to the mission if I waited on the train. My presence at the Reaping will only cause more questions to be asked.”
Esha nodded. “I’ll take you there then. You’ll be on your own in the train, but we’ll be around once you get to the Capitol. I wish you luck.” She smiled again, and I couldn’t help grinning back. I was going to be useful!
