7/11

I moved my photos over to Instagram a few years ago. While I still shoot and post regularly, I often feel the call to Tumblr as it is my diary of daily photos since 2011. I didn't have an image to post on 7/11, so I looked back at my archive to find that my first Tumblr post was on 7/11, 2011. I went on to discover what I had shot/posted on each subsequent 7/11, and found that many of my favorite photos were posted on this date.

Considering the nature of Instagram with it's never-ending appetite for stupidity and artlessness, it felt very good to revisit these images.

I couldn't resist Googling what 7/11 meant, apart from the connection to 'good luck'. I read about 'angel numbers' and numerology. A strong component of my photography since the beginning was the discovery of 'secret' symbols and connecting non-sequiturs into new arrangements. At the beginning I was making fun, but eventually I started to discover a language of imagery. So it was with amusement that I read, "angel number 711 is reminding you to take a moment to sit in your work and see all your progress. "In this way, you can reap the rewards,"
