F1 x Basketball AU 🏎️🏀

I’ve been working on a basketball au with the drivers for a while but haven’t been able to work on it until now..ish 🥲 and so i did silly little graphics for now. Combining two of my favorite sports = favorite pasttime!

IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN LEARNING THE POSITIONS HERE ARE SOME QUICK EXPLANATIONS OF THEM 🙏:

Point Guard (PG): is typically the team's shortest player and best ball handler and passer. A scoring point guard regularly has the ability to shoot from three-point or mid-range distance. A facilitator-type point guard often has a high basketball IQ, or intuitive understanding of the game, and can see plays happening before they occur.

Shooting Guard (SG): are prolific from three-point range and long mid-range. A key aspect is having the ability to patiently wait for the ball and getting free, while others pass the ball around and finally get the ball to make the shot.

Small Forward (SF): They can do just about everything, from scoring, rebounding, handling the ball, passing, and the ability to defend. A common thread among small forwards is an ability to "get to the line" and draw fouls by aggressively attempting (posting-up) plays, layups, or slam dunks.

Power Forward (PF): often the team's most powerful and dependable scorer, being able to score close to the basket while also being able to shoot mid-range jump shots. Power forwards are also very crafty and have to be versatile on both offense and defense and are usually have good footwork in the paint and are able to force players into bad shots or blocking shots when guarding the paint.

Center (C): typically plays near the baseline or close to the basket. They are usually the tallest players on the floor. Centers usually score "down low", or "in the paint" (near the basket, in the key). The goal of centers is to create possessions, and, therefore, opportunities to score, by rebounding and trying to stop the other team from scoring in the paint.

Rookie (R): fresh off the bench and now a permanent part to the starting lineup.

In this Au, I combined the “junior” teams with their respective top teams (except for HAAS in this they merged with Alpine cause let’s be honest… Alpine need the extra help to actual stay an organization so HAAS agreed to merge).

Diana Horváth

Along with Marty, comes the Daughter of Ares, Diana. She's going to be doing the most ~nazifascist-punching~ of the group (I think we can notice that).

Again, some character sheet things and then some notes I kept on her!

One thing I want to point about her design is: Diana is supposed to be conventionally beautiful, hence the Farrah Fawcett type of hair, but has no personality trait of a ~traditionally desirable~ woman. 10/10 intentional :)

Age: 29, going on 30

Height: 1.60 (5'2)

Astrological Sign: Aries (hence daughter of Ares)

Languages: Hungarian, Italian, French, German, English

Heavenly Virtue: Fiercely loyal, will defend her loved ones with her life if she has to

Hellish Sin: Anger Management Issues™ - doesn't know how to process difficult emotions, so everything comes out as anger. Plays drums like a beast, though

... because it's actually Rose's birthday! And what else would she want for her birthday than a party with all the handsome men in town she hasn't dated yet? I invited Beau Andrews, Marty Keaton, Christopher Steel, Stiles McGraw and Rose's three female friends from work (Bebe Hart, Jamie Jolina, and Morgana Wolff) who she is destined to ignore the entire time. Marty brought some Ratatouille and Christopher brought seaweed salad, so we'll be eating well this week!

W Series race winner Garcia completes F1 Academy grid by joining Prema | F1 Academy

The 15-car grid for the new F1 Academy series is complete as W Series race-winner Marta Garcia has joined Prema. Launched by Formula 1 and run jointly by Formula 2 promoter Bruno Michel and former Formula E team principal Susie Wolff, the Formula 4-spec series caters exclusively to women. It has been created following the demise of another women-only championship, W Series. Garcia spent one-and-a-half seasons in Spanish F4 at the start of her car racing career, when she was a Renault F1 junior. Over three campaigns in the Formula Regional-spec W Series she claimed two pole positions, a race win and three other podiums. She is the third signing for Prema, one of the five teams that will enter cars in F1 Academy. “I’m super happy to be racing for Prema in F1 Academy,” said Garcia. “I think this is a great opportunity for me to show what I am capable of and it’s great to do it with Prema, which is one of the best operations in motorsport. I’m looking forward to working with them and putting their colours at the front in this new series.” Eight of the 15 drivers in F1 Academy will be stepping down from, or already have experience in, Formula Regional. Five are already racing in F4 and one will switch across from GT racing. Only one driver, Garcia’s team-mate Chloe Chong, arrives with no single-seater racing experience. “We are looking forward to racing together with Garcia as she had some impressive showings in the past,” Prema’s team principal Rene Rosin said. “We think she can be a leading competitor in the F1 Academy field so to join forces was really natural. She also has a good amount of experience which is a bonus asset for the whole team.” The opening round of the F1 Academy championship takes place at the Red Bull Ring on April 28th and 29th. first post, I'm emotional T-T

Meet Weisse Rose, the punk/goth/industrial/(??) band who'll constantly get in trouble and their lives will only go downhill during the comic :)

poor souls, bless them

Left to right, we have Wasima, Diana, Wolffe (floor), Marty (sofa) and Santiago!

This was just a quick thing I put together, because I had all characters on separate "sheets" but didn't have the whole band together in a shot. And then I realized how hard it is to put 5 people in the same frame and make it look good *melts in despair*

That's when I decided to do this fun little exercise of taking pictures of bands with 5 people or more and placing the characters from my comic, so I can figure out better compositions when it's too crowded :')

This one was from an old Guns n' Roses picture below the cut of course the manwhore pose on the floor is Slash

There are so many wonderful things happening on this photo, but diva Steven on the far left made me wheeze and Wasima has never been so well represented

Also, I was too lazy to draw the background because that was NOT the point of the illustration per se. Do apologize.

I'll be posting more about the characters soon enough! I'll just have to figure out artshield better so the colours won't be too affected, but if I can't work it out, I'll post it anyway!

Maite Caceres completes Campos Racings 2023 line-up for inaugural F1 Academy season

Campos Racing have announced that Maite Caceres will be joining them for the inaugural F1 Academy season – with the Spanish squad becoming the first team to confirm their full line-up for the 2023 campaign. Caceres joins Spaniard Nerea Marti and French racer Lola Lovinfosse. After making her single-seater debut in the 2021 Uruguayan Formula 4 Championship, the 19-year-old switched over to the USA to compete in the 2022 USF Juniors season. There, Caceres earned a best result of 11th.
