“Let me ask you something? Why don't people trust their instincts? They sense something is wrong, someone is walking too close behind them... You knew something was wrong but you came back into the house. Did I force you, did I drag you in? No. All I had to do was offer you a drink. It's hard to believe that the fear of offending can be stronger than the fear of pain. But you know what? It is.”

Week #12 blog
Stieg Larsson- The girl with the dragon tattoo
pages: 516-570
word count: 315
Summary:Blomkvist is questioning whether or not the fact that he stopped Martin Vanger was the right thing in the very end because frode had bad over have a million kronor off the story that was from him and he said he would have done more good going away to spain for a month. Then someone mentions the fact that he stopped martin vanger from killing those girls. The people still see it as martin dying in a car crash and how henrik is seriously ill. But the vanger corporation ensures that the Millenum will be kept alive. Harriet Vanger replaces martin on the board and Ensured on their agreement.
Critical Analysis: “we’ve forsaken those girls. They’re going to bury the whole story, everything in martin basement will be vacuumed into oblivion” I chose this quote because it is how i feel is the ending of the book even though it is not but it is like to keep that under wraps to keep his name almost clean but it ensures that the millennium will be good
Personal Response: I am almost done with my book and will probably get a new one from the room in tuesday i liked this book it was good and it was honestly like the first time i have actually read a book in a while. for a long book i would say that it was pretty well paced only reading 10 pages a day like i feel like there was no real dragging points which may be what helped me read it or something but i did like the book and if i choose a new book i would probably choose the other book in the class by the same author. for this being the first book i have probably read since diary of a wimpy kid i would say it was a 9/10 it was a good book.

Week #11 summary
Stieg Larsson- The girl with the dragon tattoo
Pages:462-516
Word count:371
Summary: This is after Blomkvist was saved by Slander from Martin Vanger who had killed himself by driving right in the front of a truck. Salander had went back to the “torture basement” where Vanger had been keeping victims and devices used for that stuff. Because Vanger was such a known man it “casted a shadow” over hedstead where people are just finding out. They are still searching for Harriet and are putting peices of the puzzle together. They are speaking to anita Vanger who was Harriet’s closest freind/family member.by taping anita phone they found harriet who was Blomkvist baby sitter when he was three years old. They kind of concluded a lot of things but asked questions like why didn’t any one say anything or leave and Harriet said because that’s not how it is the Vanger family but answered the fact that Anita smuggled her off the island.Salander was mad at the fact that i’d harriet had said or done something Vanger wouldn’t have raped and killed women for 37 years.
Critical Analysis: this week i chose this quote “harriet f***** vanger if she had done something in 1996martive vanger couldn’t have keep killing and taping for thirty seven years”. I found this interesting and it is because i think it is true the fact that Harriet got away and did not do anything about what she had known is not fair to all the people that were victims of Martin so i think that Salander does have a right to be mad
Personal summary:This was probably the best week of the whole book because it concludes almsot the whole book. They finally have found Harriet but now it is the messy after math of everything because Harriet escaped because she was not safe where she was but then the fact she did not do anything about it is not fair to everyone that had it happen to them so now they are i. a dilemma of what to do with Harriet but they will not hang her out to dry when the write the report for the millennium. but on that note i am going to need a new book pretty soon as this one is coming to a ending.

General Atomics demonstrates data fusion between sensors with Legion pods in two UAS Avengers
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 01/11/2012 - 11:47 am in Military
Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) developer, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI), said she used two UAS Avenger, each equipped with a Lockheed Martin Legion Pod, to demonstrate UAS's ability to provide sensor data fusion.
The flight test took place in November last year and saw the Avengers send long-range aerial threat data passively captured and merged by an advanced sensor algorithm to a command center.
On the two-hour flight, the Avengers flew over the high desert of Southern California, while Legion pod's IRST21 infrared search and tracking system detected several fast-moving aircraft operating in the area. Lockheed Martin's fusion software on the pod mixed the sensor data of both pods in real time and the Avengers transmitted them to the ground station.
"This first industry-funded flight test demonstrates the ripening capabilities of UAS platforms and sensors to provide fused sensor data," said GA-ASI Senior Director of Advanced Programs Michael Atwood. “Vanger with Legion Pod demonstrates how collaborative autonomous platforms with advanced sensor can provide persistent and shared awareness of the aerial domain.”
This fusion technology was previously tested on Legion Pods and F-15-equipped datalinks in the Northern Edge operational exercise earlier this year. Legion Pod is a long-range passive IRST sensor proven on various platforms, including two types of Avenger UAVs.
"This is the first time IRST systems on several autonomous aircraft have delivered combined air threat data to users on land," said Scott Roberson, director of Sensors and Advanced Global Support Programs at Lockheed Martin. “It is a big step in developing a common operational framework that increases situational awareness in all domains in joint operations.”
The ability of the fusion mechanism to receive various sensor sources makes it a central node that connects Legion Pods on manned and unmanned platforms. Lockheed Martin plans to test the Legion Pod with datalink capability between the F-16s, as well as the fusion of F-15 sensors to F-16. The open sensor design promptly supports the Joint All Domain Operations requirements for alternative datalink architectures.
The November sensor fusion test flight followed after the first flight of an Avenger UAS with Legion Pod in July 2021.

So I’ve begun reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. The story follows the two main characters Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker, and Mikael Blomkvist, an investigative journalist, and part-owner of the magazine Millennium. Larsson starts the book with Mikael losing a libel court case against a billionaire industrialist Hans-Erik Wennerstrom. After losing the case, Mikael is sentenced to three months of jail time. Mikael is, invited to meet with Henrik Vanger, a retired CEO of Vanger Corporation. Vanger had Lisbeth check into Mikael’s personal and professional history. When Vanger and Blomkvist meet, Vanger informs Blomkvist that he wants him to discover what has happened to his grandniece Harriet, who went missing in 1966 during a family gathering at the Vanger estate. On that day, there was a traffic accident on the bridge that temporarily cut off the island. (Larsson)
Larsson then describes that Blomkvist stays on the island to do his research on the Vanger family history and the disappearance of Harriet. If he solves the cold case, Henrik will provide Blomkvist with information to take down Wennerstom. He meets Harriet’s brother Martin, the current CEO of the Vanger Corporation, Isabella, Martin and Harriet’s mother, and Cecilla, a headmistress who was Harriet’s younger aunt and friend. While Blomkvist is on the island, Lisbeth’s legal guardian Holger Palmgren suffers a stroke. She then gets a new guardian named Nils Bjurman, who will extort Lisbeth for sexual acts and eventually rapes her. Lisbeth secretly records her assault and threatens Bjurman unless he gives complete control of her life and finances. She then tattoos him to brand him as a rapist. Back on the island, Blomkvist investigates new evidence regarding a photograph of Harriet being uncomfortable when seeing an unidentifiable young man. Blomkvist looks through Harriet’s journals and finds what he believes to be old telephone numbers. Pernilla, Blomkvist’s daughter, tells her father that the numbers are quotes from Leviticus. The Book of Leviticus illustrates rules about the violent punishment of women. Blomkvist then correlates one of the quotes to a gruesome murder of a Vanger Corporation secretary in 1949. (Larsson)
Larsson writes that Blomkvist realizes that he may be on the trail of an old serial killer. Frode, Henrik Vanger’s lawyer, suggests Lisbeth as a research assistant. Lisbeth uncovers the remaining four murders corresponding to the Bible quotes in Harriet’s journal. There are also several more that fall into the profile. Blomkvist and Lisbeth realize that this is more than just an old case when someone leaves a local cat dismembered on the porch. Blomkvist goes for a run when he is shot at from a distance. Blomkvist is convinced that there is a connection between the Vanger family and the murders. Lisbeth starts to go through the Vanger Corporation archives, where she notices that most of the murders occurred in locations where the corporation did business. Lisbeth suspects that Gottfried Vanger, Martin and Harriet’s deceased father. However, he died before the last murder. Blomkvist identifies the unidentified man in the photograph as Harriet’s brother Martin. (Larsson)
Larsson writes that Martin takes Blomkvist prisoner and reveals that Gottfried “initiated” him into ritual rape and murder of women before his death. Martin implies that Gottfried sexually abused both of his children. Martin admits to Blomkvist that he has murdered dozens of women, but he never murdered his sister. Martin then tries to kill Blomkvist, but Lisbeth, who had made the connection to Martin, comes and attacks Martin. Martin then tries to flee by car. Lisbeth pursues him. Martin then commits suicide by crashing into an oncoming truck. The pair talk to Anita, Cecilia’s sister, the only relative who might know about Harriet’s fate now lives in London. Blomkvist and Lisbeth tap Anaita’s phone to discover that Harriet is still alive under Anaita’s name in Australia. (Larsson)
Larsson writes that Blomkvist flies to meet with Harriet. Harriet tells him the truth about her disappearance. Her father, Gottfried, had repeatedly raped her. She then killed him in self-defense. Harriet thought it would solve the problem. However, Martin took his father’s role and continued to rape her until he was sent away to a prep school. But Martin returned the day of her disappearance, where Harriet realized that she would never be free of him unless she ran away. Harriet then found a place to hide during the traffic accident. Anita then smuggled her to the mainland the following day. Blomkvist convinces Harriet to return to Sweden, where she is reunited with Henrik. Back in Sweden, Blomkvist learns that the evidence provided by Vanger against Wennerstom is entirely useless. However, Lisbeth hacked into Wennerstrom’s computer, discovering that his crimes go farther than what Blomkvist had first documented. With Lisbeth’s evidence, Blomkvist prints an expose and book that ruin Wennerstrom and catapult Millennium to national prominence. Lisbeth, using her hacker skills, steals about USD 260 million from Wennerstrom’s secret bank account. (Larsson)

Example of Nazi Nobleman:
-Millennium Trilogy: 3 of Henrik Vanger's older brothers were this: Richard was a fanatical Nazi who got killed at the Winter Wars, Harald is a demented old racist who lives alone surrounded by Nazi regalia(and disowned one of his daughters because she married a Jewish man), Greger was in a politically ineffectual Nazi group. Also, Richard's son, Gottfried, was a former member of the Hitler Youth.
Sidenote: The Vanger Family is one of the most dysfunctional ones in literature and one of the most similar female antagonist there is Isabella Vanger, Gottfried's wife and the mother of Martin and Harriet, because she knew the crimes of Gottfried and Martin and she didn't care, as she was too self absorbed and in Henrik(who was 7 years older than Gottfried)'s words, she shared many of Gottfried's vices like drinking, partying and a sheer lack of empathy for others.
You sure are doing a great job at introducing me to a bunch of asshole characters. Keep it up
