L'altro giorno ho scattato delle foto a Manoocher Deghati. Scena: lui splendido, gentilissimo, paziente, io al colmo dell'ammirazione, pronta a fare finalmente qualcosa di buono... E invece. Oggi vado a vedere le foto per passare alla post-produzione e mi rendo conto di aver scattato tutto in jpg. Orrore. Ora ho una serie di foto assolutamente inutilizzabili e sgranate e mi voglio uccidere.

Ho vi sto, la vita romanzesca del Pulitzer che vive a Cisternino

Manoocher Deghati, già direttore dell’Associated Press e di France Press, vincitore di molti premi tra cui il Pulitzer per la fotografia e, per due volte, il World Press Photo, con i suoi lavori ha ritratto la storia del mondo contemporaneo. Vive dal 2014 con la famiglia a Cisternino, grazie al libro Ho vi sto, un romanzo biografico della scrittrice e archeologa Ursula Janssen, oggi ne possiamo conoscere nel dettaglio la vita avventurosa e romanzesca.

Nato nel 1954 in Iran, ha conosciuto da giovanissimo il cinema italiano, una passione che spinge Manoocher Deghati, finito il liceo, a trasferirsi a Roma per iscriversi alla scuola di Cinema. Tornato in Iran è testimone delle prime manifestazioni di protesta contro lo Scià che racconta con la macchina fotografica. Inizia così una carriera che dura da più di quarant’anni e che lo ha fatto diventare uno dei più grandi fotoreporter del mondo. Non lascia il suo strumento di lavoro neanche durante la lunga convalescenza a cui è condannato a causa di un proiettile esplosivo sparato da un cecchino israeliano nel settembre del 1996. Sfrutta la permanenza forzato nell’ospedale militare Invalides di Parigi per realizzare un reportage sui veterani di guerra francesi con cui ha condiviso i 2 anni di ricovero. La passione per la macchina fotografica lo spinge nel 2011 anche a contribuire alla fondazione della prima scuola afghana di fotogiornalismo.

Grazie al suo lavoro ha visitato 150 paesi, vissuto in 12 nazioni diverse, perché, come ama ripetere, se si vuole raccontare un posto lo si deve vivere. A causa del suo lavoro Manoocher Deghati è stato esiliato dall’Iran divenendo un testimone errante degli avvenimenti che hanno segnato mezzo secolo di storia dal Medio Oriente al Sud America, passando per la Sarajevo assediata. Passaggi cruciali già immortalati dal suo obiettivo che grazie a questo libro acquistano un rinnovato interesse, perché Ursula Janssen, che di Manoocher Deghati è anche la moglie, ci svela finalmente anche quello che avveniva dietro la macchina fotografica.

During the press conference, the prison was shown as a “university”, a place of “re-education” conceived to show the “straight path” to these “sick people”.

Ten Years Since Muammar Gaddafi's Death: Looking Back at His Life in Politics

Gaddafi governed Libya as Revolutionary Chairman of the Libyan Arab Republic from 1969 to 1977 and from 1977 to 2011 as the "Brotherly Leader" of the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.

20 October marked ten years since Libyan strongman Muammar Gaddafi was killed by Western-backed rebels in his hometown of Sirte following months of NATO-ruled intervention in the country.

Libya has been gripped by turmoil since Gaddafi was toppled and killed in 2011.

The anniversary of his death comes as the country prepares for the presidential elections scheduled for 24 December. They will be part of a United Nations-led peace process. Since last March, Libya has been ruled by a unity government formed following a ceasefire between warring eastern and western factions.

La mia foto “Tra cielo e mare” partecipa, con numerose altre fotografie di fotografi da tutto il mondo, a questa lodevole iniziativa di raccolta fondi. Grazie a Tiziana Ruggiero mente e cuore di questo progetto e allo staff di Welcome in Passione Foto. A questa foto si sono aggiunte nel frattempo, per gentile richiesta dell’organizzazione, altre mie foto: “Solitudine” una foto in bianco e nero del Ponte di Rialto in inverno e “L’anima fotografata” utilizzata per la copertina dell’omonimo libro di racconti scritti da Tania Piazza. Il gruppo fotografico internazionale WPF - Welcome in Passione Foto, fondato nel 2010 dalla fotografa Tiziana Ruggiero presenta la rassegna fotografica “Giorni nuovi 2010-2020” che si terrà dal 5 al 20 settembre 2020 presso il Palazzo Ducale di Martina Franca (Ta) Italia, nella Sala ex museo delle Pianelle. La rassegna è stata organizzata per festeggiare i dieci anni di attività fotografica e solidale che WPF -Welcome in Passione Foto ha svolto, autofinanziandosi, attraverso la promozione delle opere fotografiche di autori contemporanei, noti a livello nazionale ed internazionale, e fotografi emergenti che si sono distinti per originalità e qualità delle loro opere e che hanno messo la loro arte al servizio della solidarietà. Saranno esposte le fotografie di più di 100 fotografi internazionali che, in questa occasione, sosterranno attraverso una raccolta fondi la Fondazione Giorgio Di Ponzio. I generi fotografici spazieranno dal paesaggio alla ritrattistica, dal concettuale alla street photography, dal minimal all’architettura. Ci sarà inoltre una parte dedicata alle emozioni fotografiche nel periodo del Covid-19. Ospite d'onore della rassegna il fotoreporter Manoocher Deghati. La rassegna ha il pregio di avvalersi della presenza e il sostegno dell’Assessore alla Cultura del comune di Martina Franca, prof.
