Probably the best fucking au idea for svsss I'll ever have and will never write because I'm a loser: "Platonic" cumplane marriage of convenience that is completely sexless but that's fine because both men think they're straight and don't want to fuck each other. They still end up with Binghe and Mobei-jun respectively.
Binghe was actually so fucking ready to steal a married man and had a fully detailed and convoluted homewrecker scheme and he is...kinda disappointed that SY is so efficient and amicable (or as amicable as he can be) in just divorcing SQH (who doesn't even really try to keep him from leaving) and getting with Binghe instead. But he's not going to complain TOO much...
As for Mobei-jun, he just demanded SQH marry him because SQH was KINDA bummed about losing the tax benefits and SQH was too intimidated to do anything but say yes.
Would've included this exchange:
SY: I'm...in love... SQH: Well our marriage is only for show so I don't ca-- SY: With a man. SQH: YOU'RE GAY?! SY: If it's not gay to be married to a man, then how can it be gay to be in love with one?!

Howdy, hope you dont mind my intrusion in this lovely ask box but I would like you to rate this strange sayaka figure i found. (yes it is official)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
personally i'd give it a 3/5. her eyes clearly have knowledge we cannot comprehend behind. i also feel if i incur her wrath she will bite me and it will be a big ouchie :(
[sorry if being silly here is banned i just wanted the opinion on this from the 1# Sayaka expert]
No worries, we all like to receive and discuss the silly here. That’s half the fun of opening mail from the Internet anyways, me thinks.
Right, the rating. I have actually seen this Sayaka figure on Shopee (orange hellsite that drove me broke) before, and the version I saw was even slightly sillier. The poor photo quality makes the toy appear like clay, at least with all the shininess of it, lacking severely in its final polish. The pose they chose for this Sayaka figure to be in looks acceptable on a normal, flat surface [ref: image 1], but then you look at the second picture and all of a sudden Sayaka isn’t just Madokami’s angel, but her feral bloodhound. It is undoubtedly one of the goofiest Sayaka merchandising to exist out there on the figure line. One must imagine what Homura whispered in their ears when this idea was conceived.
Overall, I think it’s very silly, in a cute sort of way. I would not mind having her join my existing collection despite the apparent oddity she presents herself with. 3/5 is a pretty accurate rating, falling in the lane of ambivalent judgement. Although, with how unique it is from the rest of the typically gorgeous Sayaka merchandise, I’m willing to bump it up to a 4/5 given it made me laugh. She’ll survey the surrounding for enemies as you sip your drink! What more could one wish for, really.
Thank you for the ask and kind words 🙇‍♂️!

ANOTHER THING I'M THINKING ABOUT is that constantine like...studies magic. hardcore studies, college-cramming studies, practice-once-a-day studies.
there's been a couple times where he'll make fun of people for fucking up a spell bc they've rushed their preparation or "it takes six months to learn that invocation", and it reminds me that he's really, honestly had to work to get as much knowledge as he has, and to be able to use it effectively without it blowing up in his face. which is such a jarring concept when set up against the new 52/jld constantine's casual flinging around spells and bursts of energy. he's out here doing that old-school occult shit, no wonder other magic users treat him like a fossil.

eepy ramblings but
thinking about that one poem about how if moses had seen his lover, he would not have banned men lying with men.
and i just wanna say i think about it a lot. like more than i should. really, thats the essence i wanna capture when i write. i wanna move people like that moved me. It's a lot like how i feel when i see Toulmouche's portrait, and all of the art pieces that genuinely move me, it's just a longing to capture that, and to move people like that.
raghhhhh back to my magi binge >:3c go watch it grrrr

The fact that the Magilumiere stall at Jump Festa was set up as a recruitment booth for the company, complete with flyers, is perfect marketing.
Brilliant, no notes, can't wait for my flyer to arrive, I love this series, etc.

Marius is a jerk, Marius is terrible, blah blah- whatever, have you also considered that Marius is kind of a goober?
Like this is a man who:
invited people over for parties but instead of interacting with them sat in a corner painting the wall
threw food out the window of a ship with Avicus and Mael as they laughed like frat boys on a booze cruise
upon discovering his mind powers, orchestrated a meetup in the backyard with Avicus and Mael so he could try setting multiple rats on fire and exploding them with his mind
had a meltdown because his art wasn’t good enough
had a meltdown because his art was too good
got so horny for Botticelli, a man he’d spoken to once at that point, that he dramatically roamed the streets of Florence in such agony over whether or not to turn him that two baby vampires came and found him and were like ‘dude what’s your deal leave him alone’
walked the streets of Venice searching people’s minds to see if they thought he was hot and then strutted around preening when they did
ordered every single item of clothing in his wardrobe in red (which was totally fucking weird for the 15th century) just because it was his favorite color and then proceeded to walk around like some renaissance version of Clifford the Big Red Dog
flew back and forth between Venice and Florence for days so he could perfect his fanart of Procession of the Magi
got so horny for Bianca he roamed the countryside whining and, I quote, “sometimes pounding my forehead with the heels of my palms”
slapped on as much foundation as a teenager in 2008 with a pot of Dream Matte Mousse and was positively tickled when it settled into his wrinkles
And then after all of this goes home to write in his journal like “dear diary, it’s me, Marius, reminding myself that though I might look hot, smell good, and dress like a cashmere velvet candy cane, I am evil and I should feel bad.”
Like babes...you sure you’re not catholic? Because that is lot of guilt you have there, you big old weirdo. Get therapy.

Oooohh! If you’re still doing the messy readings, I wanted to ask what Hongjoong thinks of Eden (their main producer). HJ has shared before how he was criticized a lot by Eden during his trainee days. A particular video sharing another specific experience went viral on twitter a while back. The fandom was divided on whether it was all justified or not. Me personally, regardless of being an Atiny, I don’t fuck with it 👀😬 😒
Other Atinys, on the other hand, were saying we should let it go, that HJ’s probably forgiven him blah blah blah, however, I wanna know what’s up for real. If he’s really past all, cool (I guess…) but if he’s not? I’m riding at dawn KST
Whoever you are? You're asking the real questions lol.
Does HJ still have leftover feelings about the past with Eden?: WOF rev, likely not. How does he feel about Eden in general?: 10oW, AoP, 8oP, 5oP, Magi.
He often feels like Eden pushes him really hard right now thought to do better. Even though he might hate it sometimes, he feels like he wants/will be forever connected to Eden/thankful for it no matter what. It feels kind of like a gift that he is able to be in witness to learning all that he can through being in his presence and working with him. He doesn't always know how to feel about Eden because he feels like he can fully get comfortable or close to him. Overall though, he has generally good feelings.

:D
rolling in these notes like a cat on cement
mmm delicious
but yeah! yeah yeah yeah! I am all for funny reverse harem!
i just also think about too often that the eternal struggle of the urge to write fix-its for AC is that you want to prevent the suffering of the individuals
but it is the suffering that makes them the characters we love
which is not to say the whole, suffering strengthens a person blah
but rather, Clay's we are the stories we tell
We get to see most of Altaïr's life, all the way to his death
we see Ezio from the age of seventeen to his death
Ratonhnhaké:ton's very *presence* in the Brotherhood is predicated on a lie!
to change their lives for the better is to erase the existence of the version of them we love
it's something I think about every time I wanna do an AC fic
and then I just love gift of the magi tragedies, where 1 can only exist by the sacrifice of 2, and when 2 cares enough about 1 to make that sacrifice, 1 doesn't want them to because they love 2 as well, but 2 does it anyway because they love 1!
so immediately I'm like
oh fuck yes
what if, tee's thing about "but the reader knew altaïr was chasing and didn't stop it happening" was
what if meeting his ancestors brings Desmond back but the only way they're able to very literally escape their fates by escaping time itself is for Desmond to embrace the Grey and lose touch with himself
.
anyway hello I like rambling about things I write I could talk all day

I know Magi is over and blah blah blah, but I will always stand by that I believe Yamuraiha does so god dang much work around Sindria that she needs to just be given, as Katya and Trixie call it, the dick of death. I mean so much so she is not capable of thought for at least an hour after it is done and over with. And also the fact we got screwed over that Dunya died because 1) I ship it hard and 2) even without the shipping aspect of it, think of how interesting that relationship would have been.

You can love a character and still admit when they're wrong. I love Luo Binghe but I acknowledge his flaws (none he's perfect) and can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he's never done anything wrong in his life) & call him out on his actions (which are always right)

Reductio ad rubrum pilulam
Tumblr media
Dear Caroline:
The heading is my take at a logical fallacy whose name I don't really know but which is a good enough approximation to the Reductio ad Hitlerum. I actually got the idea from the 2005 Zizek!, where the philosopher explains (quote below) that he refuses to play the liberal self-justification game of trying to justify and defend your intellectual engagement with non-normative ideas by repeatedly protesting and going out of your way to claim that 'you're not like x, 'the loathsome people who hold those ideas', and that you are only engaging with some limited segment of said ideas. There is a violence against you in some of these follow-up comments that goes that way, and demands you to show publicly that you are not a redpiller and that you are not guilty by association. And to this I say no, sorry, Amicus Plato, sed magis amica veritas. Nobody is entitled to require a public statement from you that you appreciate women, believe in their dignity and enjoyment of equal rights with men and dislike them being hurt and/or mistreated, which is something that should be completely obvious to anyone who knew you.
One way in which this plays out is as intellectual ring fencing. Traditionally, it was the right that was the most apt at playing this game of fixing the boundaries of what can be discussed, question and thought upon, but the left has been catching up at quite a pace.
Quote:
"And that's my wager here. I'm sorry, the only way to get the message -if you say, 'of course I'm against Fascism, there are just some attitudes which were traditionally more to the left but Fascism appropriated them, blah blah blah...'-, I think it doesn't have the desired, precise, political effect. It enables the liberal consensus to reappropriate it. You must say it with this excess".

Ghost in the Mask chapters 25 & 26

Chapter 25
She heard Rhames laughing in triumph, and then everything went dark.
Chapter 25 summary: They go into the central area, which had previously been warded. But now, it's full of more shades, and a giant bloodcrystal. Jadriga and Rhymes trade barbs for a while, which is beyond tedious. Rhymes eventually attacks, and it's unlike anything that they've ever encountered before. Those shades also attack, blah-blah-blah... let's skip ahead to the actual plot again, shall we?
In the end, Rhymes overpowers Jadriga, which naturally leaves Caina with an immense sense of dread. If the most powerful magi was unable to defeat him, what chance does somebody like Caina have with her ghostsilver dagger? Jadriga's spirit goes back into Caina's body, and Caina panics because she thinks that Jadriga must have figured out some way to control her now. But Jadriga seems intent only on destroying Rhymes.
Chapter 26
Caina opened her mouth to answer, and the world shattered around her.
Chapter 26 summary: Caina has an intense vision in which she talks to Jadriga's father, Horemb. He says that his soul was unknowingly chained to an undead, and he's been around for centuries. Forced to watch as his daughter became more and more unhinged. When she was turned into an undead, she was filled with thoughts of rage. She has no more free will, and will endlessly go around and kill anything that reminds her of Rhymes. Horemb says that she's a lot like Caina in a way, but lacking direction.
He tells Caina where the final horcrux is, inside of the bodyguard's chest cavity, and that she has to destroy it to end this once and for all.
Just then, Caina's mother shows up. Horemb says that it's the soul of the bloodcrystal. It's taken in so many spirits that it's literally taken a spiritual form now. And it chose Caina's dead mother. She threatens to destroy the world yet again, and then Caina “wakes up”.

who are the most developed/most focused on characters right now??
Thanks for the ask!! It’s hard to say who is the most developed character right now, due to so many brain cells trying to work together, but we’ve all got our own individual ones we’re working on that we feel the strongest about !
@shslstraws :
Tumblr media
blah blah blah this is where jude talks about oumota -Snelly (SHAAAAADDUPPPPP -Straws)
Kaito (My beloved) - A commonfolk who was oblivious by the magic world around him until he inevitably is pushed to it, by living his new life as a Tenebroso werewolf. The cause for how he became a werewolf is unknown, and he tries to keep away from his friends and family to protect them from this “curse”. Kaito gets in a mix of mages and eventually meets with Kokichi, a plague doctor who claims he can cure him. He slowly realizes and comes to face the reality that is Tenebres.
Kokichi (Most developed??) - A mage who lived in an orphanage until he gets adopted by two mages, Nagito and Hajime. Kokichi dreams of being far powerful than both his dads and going back to recruit the other orphanage kids to his upcoming organization. Until he gets a set back when he takes things too far with the magi academy, he gets demoted to a Plague Doctor; a low status of a mage. It is until he meets Kaito, on one of his duties, and believes if he figures out the mystery behind Tenebrosos, he will earn the right to regain his place back in the academy.
Shuichi (Most Focused on ATM) - Born from the great Kyoko Kirigiri and Makoto Naegi, there are a lot of expectations put upon Shuichi since he was very young. The expectations were too high and too heavy to carry that Shuichi decided to leave behind that life and the Kirigiri name. He meets up with Rantaro who gives him the ability of a werewolf, and thinks he can finally start anew. Until he faces the same problems with being a werewolf and being part of a pack, Shuichi decides to live amongst the commonfolk with his new friends Kaito, Kaede, and Maki by his side.
@baylardian-1 :
Tumblr media
Kyoko (Most focused on) - A detective who grew up working under a large magefolk entity in the specific branch that deals with magic-based crimes. Kyoko is telepathic with a hindered use of magic due to a strange curse covering both of her hands. Because of her ability to read minds and the overwhelming loudness many voices can create in her head, Kyoko prefers working alone. Eventually she retires from her occupation and becomes a private investigator alongside her husband Makoto.
Hifumi (Most developed) - A hamster familiar most closely resembling a smitten patsy for Celestia Ludenberg. Not having many friends he impulsively chose to follow a pretty girl one day and has never ceased. Initially out of threat, Hifumi would perform healing spells for Celestia after her hunts in addition to take care of her every beck and call. Nowadays their relationship takes on a more unspoken respect and fondness for one another.
Mukuro (My beloved) - A Tenebroso werewolf nearing closer to being 400 years old in age. Born a mage alongside her younger twin sister Junko, many events surrounding their past are shrouded in mystery. As a Tenebroso she has an unnaturally extended life. Mukuro is naturally covered in scars and physically looks to be reaching her mid 50's-early 60's. She is most often however seen to be disguising herself as a young girl.
@snellymain :
Tumblr media
Kiyo (Most developed) - A socially reclusive vampire with a guilty conscience and a sworn duty to feed by killing swiftly rather than turning anyone else into a vampire; since he hates his vampirism and his sister that cursed him with it. Has a huge fondness for humans and anthropology after his controlling sister's hatred for them caused him to have extremely limited interactions with them. Ends up committed to a mage named Angie while the unwanted spirit of his sister began haunting him after many years of being dead.
Mahiru (Most focused on) - A standard mage with very little powers and a high respect for her non-mage mother, matching her disdain for her mage father. She got into photography as she had no attachment to her underwhelming magic, until her mother urged her to go to an academy so she wouldn't let her powers go to waste like her father did. After doing so, being out in the world more, she met Hiyoko and Hiro; in which she happily adopted the former and angrily married the latter.
Angie (My beloved) - A healing-based blood mage raised communally on an island, she heals others wounds with their own blood and often secretly takes their blood for her own use while doing so; mostly to feed her partner Kiyo, but she also has a fascination for blood of her own, initially being a result of her village's blood sacrifices and now a result of her blood magic. Generally a loud nuisance, though a medically helpful nuisance, in her academy.
@samsquatchem :
Tumblr media
Doodle + blurb done by Snelly ♥
Yasuhiro (Their beloved) - A nomadic powerful mage with a wide variety of powers, mostly focusing on clairvoyance and near-limitless telekinesis; generally wanders around getting money wherever he can but spending it horrendously, ending up in a constant flat circle of time. He’s basically homeless; not out of poverty but what he considers convenience and tax evasion, for the most part and bums around Mahiru’s place. Close friends and a father figure to Hiyoko, (much to Mahiru’s initial dismay) the two bond over their shared tendency to wander and be in a new place every week + magic that neither know how to use properly, she became quickly attached to him due to him being the first person to talk to her after she ran away from home. Hiro is able to see the future but unable to speak it verbatim or else the opposite outcome will come to fruition, he can only nudge clients in the right direction of his visions. Most people think his magic is a scam and he’s the most useless mage ever.
@sutexii :
Tumblr media
Chiaki (My Beloved) - A wooden mask enchanted with a human soul, powered by dream juice and magic robotics. Created by Chihiro to live in the dream realm (where u go when u sleep + also where the killing games take place) to gather data on it for Chihiro’s research, and help those in it travel safely. Has a deep fascination with the unpredictable and strange, and enjoys seeking out new knowledge wherever she can. Still likes her games, and while originally given access to some to help entertain those she’s traveling with, she just ends up hoarding them herself.
Tenko (Most Focused On ATM) - Commonfolk w/ a smidge of monster that comes out when her anger peaks. Abandoned due to said anger issues as a child, and taken in by Aoi and Sakura. She had a very Ghibli idyllic childhood, having adventures with friends and delivering donuts for her mom. Learned martial arts from her mom, taking a particular liking to Aikido, and through it learned to control her anger. Follows childhood crush Himiko around to protect her, leading to her entering the less than legal artifact smuggling trade with her later in life.
Aoi (Most Developed) - Water elemental with a love for baking donuts and raising/rehabilitating carp. Married to Sakura, having met when she wandered into the pond in her family’s abandoned dojo and decided to stay to fix it up, motivating Sakura to fix the rest of the place up in turn. Very carefree, friendly, and laid back, loves kids and taking on the “fun auntie” role. Never worked on her humanoid appearance much at all until motherhood, Tenko enters their life and it became hard to hold back a feral monster baby with fins.
@Soupcifer_ :
Tumblr media
Nekomaru (Franken-maru) (most developed) - A reanimated corpse who was brought back to life thanks to the help of Kazuichi and Mikan. Unfortunately, he has amnesia and thus no recollection of his past friendships and family. He's a lot more quiet and mellow in comparison to his old self which makes him seem pretty dull, but in actuality he's being rather attentive and simply trying to understand everything that's happening. He does a lot of behind-the-scenes work when no ones looking like cleaning up after Kazuichi and setting reminders for Akane (still a team manager at heart).
Gonta (My beloved) - A vampire raised by werewolves. He only recently came to terms with being a vampire as he lived most of his life assuming the form of a wolf. He has an obsession with bugs, classic literature, and vintage clothing. Gonta likes to follow around a few of his friends, Angie and Korekyio (wink), and be of assistance whenever he can. He unfortunately has trouble dealing with his vampire nature sometimes due to only having lived with werewolves, so he often turns to Korekiyo for help.
Chihiro (most focused on) - An electric elemental! Chihiro is the creator/parent of Chiaki and Monomi. They have a passion for creating things that run on electricity and magic and as a result created their two lovely daughters (that and to investigate the dream realm). Chihiro also has the ability to possess electronics and machinery! Despite being incredibly small, they can emit a surprisingly large amount of energy which makes possessing large or complicated machinery an easy task.
