Random question: anyone knows how Cele and Norman Rank know each other?

#I tuned in to the moto2 class photo for a bit and i saw cele immediately go and greet norman rank and i was like ????#i mean back then i saw that norman rank has an ig and its priv and most of the riders that follow him are like ai chantra sasaki taiyo mario #and then theres cele and its like huh??#looked him up a bit and found out that hes been working with honda since 2016 and now he continuously work with ai #found out that ai had a misagreement with hiroshi and then when he left for mt helmet msi he asked norman rank to come with him #and so he agree because he doesn't want to decline ai's request and even said he dreams to work in motogp and that he will go with ai #AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO SOB BECAUSE HE REALLY BELIEVE IN AI AND 😭😭😭#remember that one interview where he said that debrief with ai is quite hard because ai is not a man with too much words #so he tries hard to really understand how ai is feeling and hes confident in ai and that he still sees the potential in him and 😭😭😭#oops getting sidetracked but i legit sob when i read that interview i love him so much hes so nice hhhh #anyway my question still stands tho like maybe my stand that ai and cele are besties may not be too much of a stretch as i thought

On this day, 7 July 1960, five communist workers, including three former partisans, were shot and killed by Italian police in the Reggio Emilia massacre. The killings occurred during a strike called in protest at the police killing of a worker in Genoa who was protesting against the fascist Italian Social Movement (MSI) holding its conference in the city. Police and Carabinieri (paramilitary police) used teargas and water cannon to attack a crowd of around 300 strikers from the Reggiane Mechanical Workshops who were singing protest songs in front of a war memorial. The workers retreated to a nearby square and built barricades to defend themselves, repelling the attack, so police started firing live rounds, killing five and wounding 16. The names of the dead are Lauro Farioli, Ovidio Franchi, Emilio Reverberi, Marino Serri and Afro Tondelli. The latter three had all been members of partisan anti-fascist resistance brigades during World War II. We recently interviewed surviving WWII partisans for our podcast. Sorry for the ramble in your inbox incoming- I'm a really huge fan of your analysis type posts like the ones about Cathal and recently Flint ;A; So I hope its ok to maybe throw in my own 2 cents about Cogs/their society- (Sorry this gets rambly I thought about this last night and writing this like an hour after waking up lol)

I think what alot of people kind of (I wouldnt say ignore- more of:) don't really get is that I dont believe characters like Cathal or Flint have bad tendencies because they really want to in a way, (I kind of worded that poorly but point is) but because their society rewards and encourages that type of behavior. I think you said something kind of similar on Cathals post- But especially for Flint, whose a Bossbot (Who are literally the embodiment of a toxic workplace and elitism. I believe a old snippet from the TTO magazines says "They have no real skills of their own, just the ability to push down others and stay on top!" Or something to that nature.) he has to be demanding and imposing. There is no benefit to him in being kind. (Like looking at Misty for example) And don't get me wrong I don't believe that if Flint and Cathal were removed from Cog society they'd be better/objectively nicer (Like Flint not being condescending to Toons and Cathal not making people do things for him and being encouraged to try) But I do wonder how much of it is pressure, or how much of it is egged on and rewarded. Atleast in the aspects it relates to how they treat others.

(..And also I wonder what happens to Cogs that don't get jobs and are seen as ..not functioning. Since Graham was freaking the hell out in "Meeting Of Two Minds" over the possibility of not getting the job. I have a whole thing about this actually in my oc lore but thats another thing entirely I'll write about someday I swear)

Also I gasped when I saw the doodle of Graham in the MSI shirt finally a MSI listener Graham truther. I think he'd like the album "How I Learned To" and of course "You'll Rebel To Anything". I associate him mainly with the songs "Lights Out", "On It", and "You're No Fun Anymore" :p (This has been my favorite band since I was like 13 and now I get to spill all my opinions xD) I always imagined him doing the guitar backbend their bassist does! And my final hc is that Flint plays bass and Graham plays the main guitar. I think it fits them .. some people overlook bass when its actually pretty hard to learn from what I hear and vital to the song. (Like heres Feel Good Inc w/o the bass.. feels wrong x_x)

THe biggest issue with Cogs Inc is that it REWARDS and ENCOURAGES these poor behaviors, worsening these characters as people. ESPECIALLY cathal considering the position of power they’re in. I’m sure it applies to a ton of other cogs too, but unfortunately I haven’t gotten to them yet bc I’m not as insane abt them . LMAO

And yeah since cogs are literally built for work, it’s a wonder what happens to those who can’t find a job as easily as others. Hoping that gets built on since it’s clear in MOTM that these cogs have to actually apply and go to interviews and probably face some trial and error to land a job, just like people IRL.

ALSO. THE BAND HCS. I love it and you’re SOOOO RIGHT about the backbend that is so grahamcore. And yes I’m pretty sure Flint does play bass, I think his creator mailman said smth abt that on their blog . AND IM SO GLAD YOU BROUGHT UP FEEL GOOD INC bc i did draw flint in a demon days shirt in that same animatic . And ive def drawn them in the same shirt a couple times in the past too . I’ve always imagined him to be a Gorillaz fan, maybe graham too

Anyway ty for these thoughts im eating them up and leaving no crumbs . I love when ppl come to ramble in my inbox bc discussing this stuff IS SO FUN and a good outlet for me esp when i might be having art burnout rn .

Honestly, New Found Glory is mostly me being petty because how the FUCK do you cheat on hayley williams (also chad gilbert and hayley started dating when hayley was 18 and chad was 26 and that just gives me weird creepy vibes idk) its really not that serious but id prefer not to do them

As for Jack Off Jill, their lead singer Jessicka Addams has been known for starting A LOT of online drama, previously being friends with Lynz Way and being apart of her group that would literally bully children on the internet (thats a whole nother can of worms that i'll go into if someone ever asks why i don't allow msi.) The worst thing though is that she brought onstage and molested two nude underage boys at a Jack Off Jill show. When the victims brought it up years later, Jessicka harassed them and their wives before posting an apology, except she'd previously posted that apology in a private group, asking her fans to critique it and referred to the allegations as false. I'm pretty sure there was video of the incident and an interview where she admitted to the whole thing but i can't find them. Also the band seems to be pretty close with Marilyn Manson despite his extremely long history of abuse and sexual assault allegations.

idk speaking as someone who is a poc, i definitely think both lindsey and gerard have said a lot of questionable things that unfortunately were not at all out of place for the era in which they were said. i remember it was like 2019/2020 or something where gerard had that interview where he mentioned recognizing his privilege and amplifying poc voices, so i definitely hope some self reflection happened there, and i hope that self reflection extended to her and that lindsey shares those same sentiments and was able to grow. neither of them are really active online anymore so all anyone can really do is speculate idk

thank you for your input!! I agree I think a lot of people, especially younger people, become kind of blinded by modern social media standards and don't think about the culture of 2000s America. I promise you if you're white and older than 13 your own parents have said and done awful shit by your standards. The main difference is it wasn't recorded and put on youtube for thousands of people to watch years later. Hell, even today I feel like I see celebrities who don't have this nature of fandom say wayyy worse stuff than either of them ever did and it's just ignored because there isn't this level of analysis put into it. Yes, people have always been calling out the bullshit from msi and I wish she learned from it sooner.

I feel like it's worth noting that out of anyone somewhat related to mcr, lindsey has most definitely been the most vocal advocate for left-leaning politics and racial equality on social media. I know that could mean nothing except trying to look good, but from what I can tell she seemingly cared a decent amount about it. Just scrolling a bit down her timeline you can see she was way more blunt about direct action than anyone in mcr ever was LOL. Like, I don't think it's a necessarily a problem to avoid politics when you're a celebrity, but boy can the mcr's vague gestures on some stuff get grating.

People wouldn’t be freaking out over that old interview if we at least knew Gerard was no longer in contact with Jimmy. The fact we don’t know has some of us believing the worst

oof, i don’t think i can say anything to reassure you. at first i was expecting lindsey and gerard to drop everyone in msi and distance themselves as much as they could, but that did not happen at all. the most distancing i saw was lindsey taking msi out of her insta bio but still calling herself a bass player. and then i was thinking that maybe they have just done it privately and there was just no public indication but i no longer think that at all.

i think jimmy, chantal and the rest of msi have a whole lot of dirt on lindsey and if they are going down they are taking her with them. they may not be the friends they used to be, but they are all dependant on each other, the blackmail they have on each other keeps them bonded in that way. this is why lindsey was defending jimmy boldly on twitter, and why there is no reason to think her stance has changed. both to protect herself from the damage the rest of msi can do to her - we probably only know the tip of the ice berg when it comes to everyone in that band. but also to protect her own reputation of being a “musician”, and being part of msi has gotten her many opportunities. now with gerard. if i am throwing him a bone i would say that it is easy to be influenced by people you consider to be friends. especially when they are your source of information to that situation and they are gaslighting you, giving you every excuse in the book and a sob story. especially when you are dealing with mental health issues that make it hard to know what reality is. he’s only human. we all excuse a lot from the people in our lives.

but. . . i don’t know. his accounts still follow all of them. some crew members were shading about how great it is to spend time with your friends when mcr was touring nz (read as they didn’t meet up). lindsey didn’t come to nz. if he believes the lies, then he is the last person to know. if he knows. . .

gerard’s silence and being generally absent is what keeps him glowing in mcr fans minds.

and i believe that lindsey’s “cancellation” and msi’s court case have been great for gerard in the dynamics of his marriage. all of a sudden he has the upper hand and with lindsey playing the victim he gets to be the protector of a much more agreeable wife. hence the lindsey rebrand/apology without apologizing tour he turned the swarm tour into. i am thinking of collecting all the clips into one place just for the record, so it doesn’t disappear from fans collective memory. his wife clinging desperately to him is probably another ego boost for him in this time, along with the whole tour.

so i don’t know what to tell you, really. nothing here is worth jumping to conclusions, but what i see i don’t like.

The Brothers of Italy party, which looks set to win the country’s general elections on 25 September, has suspended one of its candidates on Tuesday after he was found to have praised Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler in online posts.

Brothers of Italy traces its roots back to a neo-fascist group set up after World War II - the Italian Social Movement, MSI - but its leader Giorgia Meloni, expected to be Italy's next prime minister, has looked to distance herself from the far-right and says her party is a moderate conservative force.

Meloni herself can be seen in an interview with French television from 1996 describing Mussolini as a “good politician”.

Critics, however, accuse the party of harbouring neo-fascists among its ranks - indeed, two of Mussolini’s descendants are among its members - and La Repubblica newspaper recently published a social media comment posted eight years ago by party candidate Calogero Pisano, hailing Hitler as a "great statesman".

Pisano, who was standing for election in Sicily, in 2016 praised someone for defining Meloni as a "modern fascist", claiming that Brothers of Italy had "never hidden its true ideals".

In Rome's Via della Scrofa, not far from the seat of parliament in the historic center, a stone tablet and a dried up wreath commemorate Alberto Marchesi, an anti-fascist resistance fighter executed by the German SS in the Adreatine Caves in 1944. The plaque hangs to the left of a wide archway opening up on the yellow building.

In a jarring juxtaposition, a much smaller Plexiglas plaque to the right of the entrance indicates this is the headquarters of the neo-fascist Fratelli d'Italia party.

Neo-fascist parties have resided at Via della Scrofa 39 since 1946 — the MSI movement, the National Alliance, and now the Brothers of Italy, named after the first verse of the Italian national anthem. Party leader Giorgia Meloni made a point of keeping the office in the historic building which was once frequented by followers of former fascist leader Benito Mussolini.

Meloni says she has an unbroken relationship with history. Dictator Mussolini was "a complex personality," she has said in interviews. Even today, many Italians think not everything was bad under Mussolini.

Ambigious about past

Meloni does not clearly distance herself from fascism. In her autobiography, she writes she is aware she is navigating a political minefield. "We are children of our history. Of our whole history. As is the case with all other nations, the path we have traveled is complex, much more complicated than many want to make known."

She does, however, reject the cult of the leader common to fascism, she writes. But when Giorgia Meloni holds press conferences at the party headquarters, a fascist symbol is always in plain view — the logo of the Brothers of Italy.

It's a stylized flame in the Italian national colors, an eternal flame that burns figuratively at Mussolini's grave. "I have nothing to apologize for in my life. But in two out of three television discussions, I'm supposed to talk about history and not about current politics. I don't think that's right."

No Roman salute

Last fall, in preparation for the election campaign leading up to the vote on September 25, Giorgia Meloni sent out internal memos to party groups instructing them to stop making extreme statements, to refrain from making references to fascism and, above all, to refrain from the so-called Roman salute, a gesture with an outstretched right arm which resembles the Hitler or Nazi salute.

The politician who might soon be prime minister wants to move the party from the political fringes, from the extreme right to center right. Meloni is seeking to remould the party and pitch it as a conservative champion of patriotism that appeals to the middle class to form a coalition with other right-wing parties — Matteo Salvini's Lega and Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia.

"If she has made it this far in Italy, it's thanks to all those who have whitewashed her — from the media who insist on calling Salvini and Meloni center-right to Berlusconi and the Grillini, who brought her to power, and a disoriented center-left that underestimated and legitimized her," says Alba Sidera, a Spanish journalist who has for years researched the Italian far right. "Meloni did not suddenly appear out of nowhere. She has been preparing to become prime minister for years."

Pure populism

Born in 1977, Giorgia Meloni joined the neo-fascist Italian Social Movement (MSI) party's youth wing when she was 15 to take a stance against the far-left terror of the era in Italy. She later led the student branch of the far-right National Alliance, was elected to the Italian Parliament's Chamber of Deputies in 2006, and became Italy's youngest minister two years later.

At the age of 31, she took over the youth portfolio in Silvio Berlusconi's government. Ten years ago, Giorgia Meloni founded the Brothers of Italy, which she has led since 2014. In 2020, she also took over the chairmanship of the EuropeanConservatives and Reformists (ECR) party, which includes, among others, the Polish ruling party, PiS.

Meloni plans to head into the election campaign with the populist slogan "Italy and Italian people first!" She has called for more family-friendly benefits, less European bureaucracy, low taxes, and a halt to immigration.

She wants to renegotiate EU treaties and Italy's membership in the euro currency community. Her party rejects abortions and same-sex marriage. In terms of economic and foreign policy, the trained foreign language secretary is relatively inexperienced. She's spent most of her political career as a member of parliament and a party official.

Radical self-confidence

Meloni has kept her cool amid harsh criticism from the left-wing political camp. Ginevra Bompani, a writer, told La7 television that "Meloni is a real jerk.... she is surrounded by Nazis." To which Meloni replied on Facebook that she was tired of being portrayed as "the black lady."

Her opponents, she said, are only desperate because she is so successful. Associating her with Mussolini, Hitler or Putin is ridiculous, she said. "After all, I support Ukraine," the party leader said. In a TV interview, she told her critics to take a look at France and Germany, where far-right populist parties have been successful and no one turned that into a scandal. "Why should it be any different in Italy?" The German party Meloni referred to is the Alternative for Germany party (AfD), which however lost votes in the 2021 federal election, and hovered at just over 10% of the vote.

The Brothers of Italy leader is counting on Italian leadership to transform the EU into a loose economic union. French President Emmanuel Macron has been weakened by losing his majority in parliament, she said. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is not confident, Meloni said in a recent interview with Italian public broadcaster RAI, adding Scholz certainly does not have the same strength as predecessor Angela Merkel had.

That is precisely where she would come in, says Meloni, who is married to a television journalist and is paying close attention to her new, serious makeover.
