One thing I’ve seen overlooked in the myriad TOH/Amphibia crossovers, especially the ones that swap Luz for one of the Calamity trio, is that Marcy & Luz (in my opinion at least, don’t take it as gospel) are the logical choices to swap with each other.
I mean, they both:
Are extremely clever, with barely subtextual (if not explicit) neurodivergence. I mean, the hyperfixations alone.
Cope with reality through a fantastical escape
Initiate the story of their respective series when presented with a literal escape to another world in the wake of an extremely upsetting event in their personal life.
Neither have many meaningful, healthy (lookin at you, pre series Anne & Sasha) relationships in the Human Realm.
Both end up unknowingly (though only partially in Marcy’s case, please don’t hurt me!) helping the primary antagonist (The Core & Collecter may be the BIG Bads, but Andrias & Belos are the ones driving the conflict).
I could honestly see both of them following each other’s character arcs, if not exactly then at least close parallels, if Marcy followed an Owl through a mysterious door while Luz opens a music box in the hope of getting out of Reality Check camp.
I wonder if that’s why I ship them so hard.

Marcy: (stunned silence after the three-hour infodump) ... okay, so let me get this straight; the lore is your mom got pressured into sending you to a conformist camp, you ran away after an owl stole your favorite book, you met a middle-aged witch who was cursed to become a demonic owl beast, then you met a bully who became your girlfriend, you fought an evil emperor to stop him from committing genocide, and ended up unleashing an all-powerful star child who you brutally killed with a baseball bat and sandal?
Luz: Which belonged to my mother, yes.
Marcy: ... right. Uh, that's gonna take up too much ink, I'm already too swamped with my own projects, and this commission you offered isn't nearly enough for me to try drawing all of that, sooooo... (hangs up)

This is assuming that Luz wouldn’t draw her story via her own webcomic, her art’s been improving since the beginning and I could see her doing that and even collaborating with Marcy on her webcomic “Amphibi-Anne”. Art trades and guest chapters, power art buddy duo Luzarcy…or Marluz??
