Just in time for #TouringThursday, one of my favorite machines from #LegendsoftheAutobahn today. Beautiful #Mercedes #S124 #500E, making it a #500TE? Experts correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Mercedes never made a 500E Estate. So this conversion did gave me all the right tickles with its widebody, ground effects and hopefully* an uncorked #M119. 🍻 📷 @rude.scott #amg #porsche #oz #renown (at Monterey, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChbYDhEOg1W/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[there are so many drones in the skies above the frontlines that drone duels are becoming a regular occurrence]
🇷🇺🇺🇦 🚨
💥UPDATE ON THE RUSSO-UKRAINIAN WAR, EVENTS OF DAY 627💥
Russian Military Production:
Russia has accumulated approximately 800 high-precision missiles, - Ukrainian Air Force representative Ignat.
“Two and a half months ago, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported 600 missiles and that the approximate production capacity was 100 missiles per month. Two months have passed, and now they have more than 800 missiles. These are exactly the two months where there was a low intensity of missile use. There were calibers, Iskander-K, but there were no Kh-101, Kh-555 during this time,” he noted
In the United States direction:
Wash Post: Ukrainian Military Officer Coordinated Nord Stream Pipeline Attack
High-ranking Ukrainian military officer Roman Chervinsky, with deep ties to the country's intelligence services, played a central role in the Nord Stream gas pipeline explosion last year, according to officials in Ukraine and elsewhere in Europe, as well as other people familiar with the details.
The officer's role represents the most direct evidence to date of the involvement of Ukraine's military and security officials in a controversial act of sabotage that has spawned multiple criminal investigations and which U.S. and Western officials have called a dangerous attack on Europe's energy infrastructure.
In the Odessa direction:
Ukranian sources published video showing a Russian strike on a Liberian bulk carrier, the Kmax Ruler in the port of Odessa. Considerable damage was evident from the strike.
In the Donetsk/Avdiivka direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian losses in the Donetsk territories amounted to 250 killed or wounded servicemembers, three infantry fighting vehicles, and three pickup trucks.
In the course of counter-battery positional warfare, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, one U.S.-made M119 howitzer, as well as three D-30 and one D-20 Ukrainian howitzers were destroyed.
To the west of Avdiivka:
Russian Forces were heavily bombing Ukrainian positions using Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS) on concentrations of Ukrainian manpower, equipment and fortifications in the village of Tonenke according to video evidence published by Russian sources.
Videos from recent days shows a heavy concentration of Russian firepower on Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Tonenke and Sieverne using a wide variety of missiles, MLRS, FAB500s and concentrated Lancet and Skalpel drone assaults, along with the heavy use of commercial FPV drones.
On the north of Avdiivka:
Heavy fighting continues in the direction of Stepove as Russian Forces consolidate their gains on the eastern outskirts of the village, digging in under very heavy Ukrainian bombing using tons of FPV drones.
Ukrainian sources published video showing Russian POV of Russian Forces concentrating manpower and armored vehicles in the residential neighborhoods of Kransohorivka, with the purpose of further assaults towards Stepove and Berdychi, according to the Ukrainian sources.
According to Russian sources, Russian Forces have advanced slightly in the village of Stepove, by up to 300 meters in some places.
On the north of Kransohorivka, Russian Forces were bombing Ukrainian positions on the treelines south of Novokalynove. Video evidence suggests this area to still be in the grayzone, with patches of fields and treelines recently taken by Russian Forces changing hands again and again.
In the Artemovsk direction:
Russian Forces were bombing Ukrainian Forces moving between positions in the Kurdiumovka area according to video published by Russian sources.
Heavy fighting continues in the vicinity of Klischiivka and Andriivka, with corpses strewn everywhere from the constant shelling and UAV strikes. Both sides have published horrific videos of the carnage in this area in recent days. However, no territorial changes have been recorded or evidenced in videos.
In the South Donetsk direction:
Units with the Vostok Group of Forces of the Russian Federation in coordination with helicopters and artillery repelled one attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) 128th Territorial Defense Brigade's assault group near Nikolskoye (DPR).
Strikes were coordinated on the concentrations of manpower of the AFUs 72nd Mechanized Brigade and the 79th air-assault brigades near Novomykhailivka and Vehledar.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Ukranian Forces in the South Donetsk direction, as a result of clashes in the area, lost 80 soldiers, two Infantry Fighting Vehicles and one U.S.-made M777 artillery system.
Russian Forces published a video showing the destruction of a Ukrainian howitzer artillery system in the vicinity of Novoukrainka.
Mostly positional fighting and counter-battery duels in the South Donetsk area, sources say Russian Forces are rotating troops and restocking ammunition in this area today and will resume assaults on Ukrainian positions Monday.
In the Kherson direction:
As a result of bombing and clashes in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian Forces lost 60 soldiers, one MBT, three pickup trucks and one Msta-B howitzer, according to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Russian Forces continue heavily bombing the positions of Ukrainian Forces at the foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper at Krynky using FAB500 guided bombs according to video published by Russian Forces.
On the western flank of Krynky, Ukrainian Forces were using FPV drones to target Russian infrantry positions, with video published by Ukrainian Forces showing the targeting of two soldiers engaged in a medical evacuation of an injured soldier, killing the group of Russian soldiers.
Further West from Ukrainian-controlled Krynky, Ukrainian sources published video showing the destruction of a Russian motorcycle riding along the supply roads in the western part of the village using FPV drone.
The frontline in this area has stabilized considerably over the last 72 hours.
In the Zaporizhzhia direction:
Clashes continue, with the Russian Group of Forces; aviation, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems defeated the concentrations of manpower and equipment of the AFU 33rd Mechanized Brigade in the vicinity of Robotyne.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD), Ukrainian Forces lost up to 55 soldiers, two armored vehicles, and two motor vehicles belonging to AFU soliders in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Ukrainian Forces are heavily reliant on FPV drones in this area to target the Russian supply-lines, infrantry, fortified positions and trench networks south of Piatykhatky, with video evidence of clearing operations by Ukrainian Forces on the southern/southwestern outskirts of the village.
This suggests that Russian Forces have advanced slightly in the area, or have returned the village into the grayzone or taken some positions inside the village.
In the vicinity of the northern fields of Kopani, Ukrainian Forces managed to discover the position of a Russian ammunition depot for mines.
After two unsuccessful strikes using HIMARS, Ukrainian Forces corrected their aim and managed to destroy a collection of Russian mines to great effect.
Both sides continued heavily bombing each other's positions using FPV drones in the vicinity of Robotyne, however the frontlines here seem mostly stable and no territorial changes were recorded.
Russian Forces were heavily using FPV drones in the south and west of Robotyne, hammering Ukrainian positions in the trenches and foxholes along the fields and treelines, as well as the outer residences of the village.
There's some evidence for jamming equipment, however it seems almost always too little, too late for most strikes which often are carrying enough momentum to reach their targets long before jamming equipment affects a drone.
Despite no territorial changes, considerable attritional damage is being done to Ukrainian infantry in the area of Robotyne, as it is across the southern frontlines. On the Vremivka salient area, Russian Forces were heavily bombing Ukrainian positions in the fields west of Novodonetske, destroying fortifications and ammo depots, according to video evidence from Russian sources.
Russian Forces launched ground operations towards Staromaiorske from its west after heavy bombing of the village in recent days, however no video evidence for operations in this area.
In the Kupiansk direction:
Units of the Zapad Group of Forces of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kupiansk direction, with the support of aviation, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems repelled two attacks by the assault groups of the AFUs 54th Mechanized Brigade near Zagoruykovka (Kharkiv region).
As a result of fighting in this area, Ukrainian Forces lost 40 servicemembers, two armored vehicles, and three pickup trucks, as well as one U.S.-made M777 artillery system, two Gvozdika artillery systems, and one D-30 howitzer. One ammunition depot belonging to the AFUs 113th Territorial Defense Brigade near Staritza (Kharkiv region).
Video published by an officer and unit of the AFUs 57th Motorized Brigade in the Kupiansk sector depicts a Unit refusing to conduct operations until such time as the brigade receives proper ammunition, equipment and support.
According to the video, when confronted by Russian Forces conducting offensive operations somewhere in the Kupiansk sector, the officer says his forces chose to retreat, ducking back through the minefields, which the officer says his forces did not receive maps for, and losses were accrued after triggering mines while attempting to escape.
We had a similar situation just yesterday with regards to a unit with the 110th Mechanized Brigade, they too published a video saying they refuse to fight until receiving the proper support and munitions.
Ukranian sources published video showing the targeting of Russian Infantry in the trenches of the Kreminna Forest area of Luhansk Oblast using D-44 howitzer.
Positional fighting and counter-battery duels continue in this area.
No changes of territory were recorded.

My Top 10 Iconic Le Mans Legends
This weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans race will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and with 62 cars from different classes gathering around in this centennial milestone as well as special guest stars, rest assured that the 100th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is going to be historical indeed.
Tumblr media
As the whole world is bracing for the centennial running of the legendary endurance race that pushes carmakers over the limit in the name of speed and survival, it's time for me to jot down my top ten iconic Le Mans legends.
10) GR010 - Following the success of their LMP1-class TS050, which propelled Toyota Gazoo Racing to three straight overall titles at Le Mans, Toyota created this competitor to the new Hypercar class, which replaced the LMP1 class after the 2020 season. Complying with Hypercar regulations, the GR010 is powered by a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo engine mated to an electric motor that powers the front wheels, making it a 4WD machine where the petrol engine powers the rear wheels while the electric motor takes care of the front, a drastic change compared to its LMP1 predecessor. Toyota defended its Le Mans success in the new Hypercar class with the #7 Toyota Gazoo Racing car emerging as the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for two years, making it its fifth win in a row.
9) Toyota TS050 - In the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, being the only manufacturer-backed LMP1 racer competing in its class, the #8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050, piloted by Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, Formula E driver Sebastien Buemi, and Kazuki Nakajima, made a historic victory at Le Mans, marking the second time a Japanese carmaker won Le Mans since the legendary Mazda 787B and the first time a Japanese driver became part of the Le Mans-winning team. In 2019 and 2020, with the latter being the final year for the LMP1 era, Toyota emerged victorious in Le Mans.
8) Jaguar XJR-9 - Built in collaboration between Jaguar and Tom Walkinshaw Racing, Jaguar's Group C competitor is powered by two V12 engines; a 7.0L for the WSPC and a 6.0L for IMSA GTP class. Both produce 760PS of power and 828Nm of torque, while mated to a 5-speed March/TWR manual gearbox, making the XJR-9 capable of hitting a 245mph top speed. A Silk Cut-sponsored Jaguar XJR-9 won the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans with Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries, and Andy Wallace behind the wheel.
7) Peugeot 905 - The V10-powered Peugeot 905 cemented the French carmaker to the list of Le Mans winners when it won the legendary endurance race twice in 1992 and 1993.
6) Audi R18 TDi - The Audi R18 TDi is known as the only diesel-powered racing machine that conquered Le Mans three times from 2012 to 2014. Not only that, it has dominated two WEC championship titles from 2012 to 2013. Such achievement proves that diesel is king until dieselgate came and most carmakers are ditching diesel-powered engines for good.
5) 919 Hybrid  - In 2014, Porsche returned to LMP1 endurance racing with their 919 Hybrid and although it didn't fare well in its first run, which led to its 3rd place finish at the constructor's championship at the 2014 WEC season, it came back with a much fighting chance and because of such will power, it managed to win not just Le Mans but also three WEC seasons on the trot from 2015 to 2017. Porsche has left the LMP1 racing program after their three-win streak with the 919, only to make a comeback in the Hypercar class with the 963 racing machine.
4) Sauber-Mercedes C9 - As part of the Sauber-Mercedes partnership, this Group C prototype was introduced in 1987 and its first success can be traced back to the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the #63 C9 driven by Jochen Mass, Manual Reuter, and Stanley Dickens, achieved a win. During qualifying for Le Mans, the C9, with its Mercedes-Benz M119 HL 90º 5.0L Turbo V8 engine with two KKK turbos, achieved a top speed of 248.0 mph (400 km/h) at the Mulsanne Straight of Le Mans.
3) 917K - The Porsche 917K is known as the short-tail version of the legendary 917, a sports prototype race car, and it gave Porsche their first overall wins at Le Mans for two straight years since 1970. Thanks to such success, it even gained a starring role in the Le Mans movie starring Steve McQueen.
2) 787B - Built as an improved version of the 787, it features the same R26B 4-rotor Wankel engine as its predecessor which produces up to 690HP of power. Aside from that, it features carbon-fiber bodywork which resulted in a light, rigid body structure and other improvements. In the 1991 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, Mazda sent two 787B machines with the race-winning #55 car driven by Bertrand Gachot, Johnny Herbert, and Volker Weider. The 787B not only became the first Japanese-manufactured race car to win Le Mans, but it's also the first-and-only rotary-powered race car to win the said endurance race.
1) GT40 Mk. II - Ford's trial-and-error process of creating a racing machine that can crush Ferrari in Le Mans is nothing more of an act of revenge from the Blue Oval following Ferrari's rejection to become part of the Ford empire. Armed with the 7.0L V8 engine producing 485HP of power and mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the GT40 Mk.II from Ford delivered a stunning podium sweep at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans race, more than enough to crush Ferrari into it. Such achievement has been profiled in the biopic movie Ford vs. Ferrari.
In this centennial running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, will it be a milestone for Toyota Gazoo as it's seeking a three-peat in the Hypercar class? Will the return of Ferrari in Le Mans crush Toyota's dreams for a three-peat? Find out as this legendary endurance race unfolds this Saturday, June 10th. Don't miss it!

Ran over some poor wild thing on the way home tonight M119, and the moths coming down on the windshield like rain and there he was in the headlights gray and startled and I was too close
the sound of it, the way it feels I have enough details I won't burden anyone else with them, it's bad enough I know, but I know I know I won't forget it soon
and my shoulder tensed and my bicep tensed and my neck tight with the exertion to not do anything stupid, not swerve into oncoming traffic, not run off the road, not flip the animal and I already locked in the moment the moment I looked down and he looked up and we both already knew there was nothing to be done about it
but still you always want to take it back
but rewind is not an option, only forward so I kept driving cat to feed and dishes to wash and not enough hours between now and the alarm that sends me hurtling into tomorrow whether or not I'm ready
forward is the only option I'm sure we're all sick of it, but it's true
I bury him in a poem, a little mound of memorial.  I write him my best guess at an epitaph, all he and I ever knew of one another.  I tamp the dirt down I walk away
there's too much work for me yet.

So, we also have another birthday to attend to... a loud one. 😁 We'd like to wish a very very Happy 247th Birthday to the United States Army Field Artillery, established (Friday) November 17th, 1775. Despite an obsessive-compulsive (and misguided) concept that it is obsolete, the Artillery remains the largest casualty-causing weapons system on the battlefield. (Not that I'm biased, or anything - I spent six years of my life as a Redleg 😉) The Field Artillery remains on the leading edge of the technology field, staying abrest of all possible modernizations in weapons platforms, ammunition, and fire-control. It is, and will always remain, The King Of Battle. *** Seen here is an M777 .155mm howitzer (affectionately referred to as a "Triple-Seven"). Of British design, it is used by both the US Army and Marine Corps, and depending on ammunition used, can reach out anywhere 14 to 25 miles.*** Happy Birthday, Redlegs!!! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 🇺🇲🇺🇲 ** Please Like & Follow "Sandy Hook History" on Facebook & Instagram for more amazing maritime and military histories of the Garden State and New York Harbor as well as a review of the 80th Anniversary of the Battle Of The Atlantic and World War 2** 🇺🇲🇺🇲 Photo: US Army #newjerseybuzz #thejournalnj #locallivingnj #journeythroughjersey #onlyinnewjersey #njspots #centraljerseyexists #discovernj #yesnj #newjerseyhistory #newjerseyforyou #sandyhookbeach #sandyhooknj #sandyhookhistory #forthancock #fieldartillery #artillery #redlegs #redleg #henryknox #kingofbattle #m777 #m119 #m109 #paladin #firemission #fortsill #fortsilloklahoma #firecontrol #forwardobserver (at Fort Hancock, New Jersey) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClFlzyqtWx-/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
