It's crazy to me that the most popular fictional character of the turn of the century England was a rational to a fault detective. While at the same time, the most popular fictional character in France happened to be a gentlemen thief. That's just too on the nose. It's the kind of detail you would come up with to differentiate the culture of two fictional kingdoms in some fantasy novel, not an actual historical fact.

If there's any justice in the world, we'll someday see a full on adaptation of Arsene Lupin vs. Sherlock Holmes, er, I mean Herlock Sholmes.

Hi @digitallyfanged guess who is your secret santa ? You can’t know how much i was grinning when I saw your “Lupin (yes, I know not DC/mk but he was in a movie twice, and if you want to use him as part of your gift, well)” Well, as you can see with my previous DC drawing (wich I’m not even sure I have one without featuring the lupin crew) I sure wanted to use it as part of the gift so here you are ! A drawing mostly inspired from a fic idea I’m not sure I’ll ever write with Lupin, Shinichi and Kaito ! And of course, the mini-gift I couldn’t send before because it was too linked to the gift : another pov with their though :) A big thank to @dcmksecretsanta for the organization, the messages where such a good idea ! and I hope you like your gift digitallyfanged >o<

Just a bit more of rambling and the line to go with it : The mini-gift was my initial point of view and I still prefere it that why I made it a mini-gift. Side and front view are my confortable zone though and I wanted to push myself out of it with a complicated pov. But, well, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to add night lighting, speed effects, multiple characters, cars and bacground to that ^^’ that was a bit too complicated for my current level but I hope it turned good anyway !

The Lupin III vs Detective Conan crossover TV special and movie had lots of fun moments overall (honestly, having Lupin III's Looney Toons physics in Conan's world is an experience lol).

But! I can't stop thinking about that moment in the movie where Lupin's gang returns the Detective Boys back to Agasa's house after the kids managed to find Lupin's hideout. Conan yelling "You are grounded!" to the kids (and Professor included) before storming off to track down Lupin was somehow peak comedy for me hahah

I mean, it's funny to think about a seemingly 6-7 year-old saying to three other actual 6-7 year-olds and a middle-aged grown man that they are grounded in the most 'mom is very disappointed after you completely disregarded her warnings' authoritative tone. It makes me wonder if Conan's Japanese VA (who is a middle-aged woman) has kids herself because that line sounded extremely well-used-practiced 😂😂😂
