Nancy then asks her mom a question about the moon being a cheese, and Stephanie grins. "No, silly billy." She says. "Oh okay. Hamuera* told me his theory that it's a large sponge that they take pieces from to make kitchen sponges so its probably that." She says, and Stephanie laughs. "Of course." She says teasingly.
Plus, here's a photo of an updated chicken version of the Takamura family that Nancy has in her room. The brown chick representing her baby brother Haruo. Also, a photo of Haruo sneaking off to the toilet to splash in it. I used to do the same as a toddler so I can't judge him too much. 😅
Also here's the link to the post with Hamuera as a kid telling his own mom Luna the moon is a sponge theory. He doesn't believe it anymore but as a kid he definitely thought he was on to something. 😄

The origin of strength and will power
To continue with the discussion I'll have to make some spoilers, but I' ll try not to give too many spoilers so the magic won't be lost if someone decides to read/watch this spokon.
What is the strength?
The literal translation would indicate that it is the physical ability to perform an action, but as far as this anime is concerned, the answer is not so easy.
What does it mean to be strong?
At the beginning, the protagonist was not clear about what it meant to be strong and along his story he met rivals who gave him their perspective on the matter, which won the protagonist's admiration.
His rivals Takeshi Sendo and Ryo Mashiba (the brother of his love interest) for example thought that strength implied facing boxers and in that battle decide who was the one who will rise as the winner and who is therefore stronger, however, this has a small detail in both characters.
Even if for them strength meant the ability to beat their opponents, there was something in common that motivated them, and that was that they had something to fight for, in particular, someone to fight for.
In Sendo's case it is his grandmother and the people who never stopped believing in him that motivates him to keep going, along with his insatiable thirst to fight people he considers strong, in what he calls a "man's fight" in which his fists do the talking.
On Mashiba's side is his sister, who was always his reason for living once his parents passed away, and he felt it was his duty as an older brother to give her whatever she needed, which led him to drop out of school at an early age to work and in turn led him to take up boxing, as he was good at it and began to see it as a way for him and his sister to get ahead.
Another case is that of the Russian character Volg Zangief, who was forced to box as the only way to pay for his mother's medical treatment, fighting not because he liked it, but because it was his only option, and in his development as a character we see the cruder and darker side of boxing.
What I want to get at with this, the meaning of strength in this piece is not only the ability to do something or in the case of boxing to beat your opponent, it is linked to the will to do something, and the key word is "will", and this is what moves a large part of the piece, and without going any further it could be the answer that the protagonist is looking for.
One of the greatest demonstrations of willpower is seen in Takamura's weight check before one of the most important fights of his life, which again shows that not everything in this sport is happiness, and that it takes a will of steel to keep going.
Now, what is the catalyst for this will is one of the big questions that arise, because when we enter into the psychology and philosophy of the characters in the play, we can see that there is a different background, which is far from what initially pushed them to boxing and made them love this sport in their own way.
Pd: In the next post I will try to analyse the "will" of some characters, which although it doesn't seem so, is different in each of them, although in a certain point they coincide.
Pd 2: in the anime/manga the representation of certain characteristics is seen in the eyes of the characters, in the case of the "will" in the anime it is represented with a green colour in the pupil.

Luna and Tess took their respective kids over to their old college roommate Stephanie’s house so they could visit her and her family. Stephanie and her partner’s daughter Nancy got attached to Tess’s daughter Emily, and toddled after her. Emily played and talked with Nancy, and showed her how to build cool stuff with her alphabet blocks. After that, Luna, Tess, and the kids headed out to the festival of youth, and it was just finishing up but they managed to grab some crepe ice creams and Luna ran into her best friend Juliet.

A line that shouldn't be crosse
This post contains spoilers from the Hajime no ippo manga, as this concept is explicitly introduced in the manga, in the anime it is only mentioned a few times.
Throughout the series there is talk that within the world level there are monsters, the first view to one, and the one who introduces this concept is Mamoru Takamura, who set himself the goal of being world champion of 6 weight categories, something that so far he has accomplished as he has been champion of 3 categories, being these WBC Junior Middleweight Champion , WBC Middleweight Champion, WBA Middleweight Champion (which made him the unified champion of two associations), WBC Super Middleweight Champion.
Later we are shown the world champion of the protagonist's category, Ricardo Martinez, whose record is perfect, having 69 victories and no defeats, having nicknames like Quetzalcoatl (sun god), Living Legend or also the Omega (referring to he is the end of the career of any boxer) and also being called the strongest boxer pound for pound, and in his brief demonstration of strength in the anime shows the protagonist and the former champion of the category of Ippo that there is a huge gap in their strength.
There is also a moment when it is brought up that Ippo's rivals, Sendo and Mashiba are already considered monsters, both in terms of their personalities and strength.
This shows that there are characters whose ability, strength, will and personality stand out and differentiate them from others, but what do you have to leave aside to reach that point?
At the moment of introducing the concept, Takamura suggests that in order to do so, one must leave aside any hint of humanity, since to be considered a monster you must be willing to sacrifice your life, to train until your body can't take it anymore, to leave aside most of your life.
While this may sound simple to Takamura, for the protagonist it poses a situation in which he does not know if he is willing to give up everything to continue his path on the world stage, this being something that marks a line both metaphorical and literal in the life and career of Ippo.
Now this post is partly more reflective, the reason why I propose that it is a line that should not be crossed, is born from the question: what am I willing to sacrifice in order to reach my goal? Takamura poses it as a necessity to achieve the goal of continuing to advance in the world stage, and seeing how the protagonist asks himself this question, disagrees with the answer of his mentor and how as the manga progresses he comes to the conclusion that he plans to continue advancing in his own way seems incredible to me, because it shows how much the protagonist has learned.

Will of Steel
Since will is one of the essential characteristics of the piece, it can be seen in all the characters the materialization of their own wills, being diverse the representations of each one of them.
One of those that are shown almost at the beginning of the play is during the first weight control that we are allowed to see is the one of Takamura, moment which the protagonist witnessed as a teaching since his trainer made him see up close what it means to prepare for a real fight, being Takamura who tells him "can't you train with intensity if someone does not force you?", showing that the protagonist was in an instance in which his motivation to go ahead with boxing was in doubt because he did not have a clear conviction.
The following scene shows one of the realities of boxing, and also reveals Takamura's will and conviction to endure hunger, thirst, pain, and the anxiety of not being able to eat any food, because if he does, he won't be able to fight.
Pd: I will attach the link of the scene because for me, the anime knew how to represent well how the character felt in those moments.

Another of the most striking wills is that of the Russian Volg Zangief, who at first is posed as a character who is in this sport by obligation, and in his stay in Japan is where he learns and falls in love with boxing, which in a way makes a change in his will and motivation, since at the beginning his main catalyst was to fight to get money for his mother's medical treatment, so losing a fight was not an option, and as time goes by he begins to fight because he likes it, so he ends up getting another goal, which is to be world champion.
However, this will comes into conflict with his initial goal and in turn with his development as a boxer, since being a foreigner his situation in the sport at least in Japan is extremely complicated, and at a certain point in the story he must make a decision that is definitely not easy.
Another thing that is talked about in the work is the inherited will, since in the story as it progresses we are told that Ippo is the spitting image of his trainer, who based on willpower and training was capable of great feats.
This can also be seen in Ippo's rival, Ichiro Miyata, whose main will is to prove that the boxing he learned from his father works and is capable of competing at a world level, now, as with Volg, this conviction changes throughout the work being the protagonist one of the reasons, and without making too much spoiler, this will leads him to make decisions that harm his own career in order to face the protagonist.
However, in this anime/manga they do not stop there, there is more background and as the characters develop there are nuances that cause a rethinking of their own convictions and in turn an evolution, thus being a work in which any of the characters can take the role of protagonist, something that happens very often in the current manga, in which although Ippo is still the protagonist, he is relegated to the background.
Now with the above it seems that this anime is very serious, but obviously has its humorous side, although perhaps a little old for the time, even so I recommend it too much as it is one of my favorite anime / manga and I think it will soon be on Netflix along with another of my favorite anime "Monster", although I am not yet clear if it will be available in Latin America.

The meaning of true strenght
I will use this first post as an introduction and review of the first chapter that addresses this question, the answer being particularly difficult, which I will try to discuss in the following posts, emphasizing how this anime tries to answer it, and this being the reason why I consider this anime one of the best spokon I've seen.
Hajime no Ippo begins with a setting quite typical of a 90s anime, the protagonist is Ippo makunouchi, a young student about to graduate, who helps his mother in the family fishing business, being the target of bullying by the bullies from his school.
It was by chance that during one of the attacks he received, he was helped by a person who was passing by, his name was Mamoru Takamura, who chased away the Ippo aggressors who were hitting him recently.
This is where boxing is introduced as the main theme of this anime/manga, and this being the profession of the person who rescued Ippo, and with the intention of helping him clear his mind, he encourages him to try hitting a bag with a poorly drawn face of his attacker.
At this moment is where the fact that our protagonist has great strength despite not showing it arises, something that Takamura notices.
Despite this he limits himself to recommending that he do something about it, otherwise these bullies will not stop, for which gives him videos and boxing magazines about Mike Tyson, a boxer who also went through the same thing as him, and in this way see if he can found inspiration or generate a change in him.
This is one of the moments that generated the most impact in ippo's life, along with the words of his mother when he arrived home "leave the housework to mom and go do what you want", since after seeing the material that Takamura gave him, he found that he didn’t know what he wanted from his life.
He always believed that he was going to continue working in the family business because it was his duty, but he never considered what made him happy and at this moment it is done the question “how it feels to be strong…”
So he looks for takamura and asks him if maybe he could be a boxer, because he noticed that Takamura was a very famous Boxer, Takamura gets angry to think that this boy thinks that just by thinking about it he could be a boxer without knowing all that entailed.
At this moment Ippo makes it clear that he is serious about this, seeing how Tyson's personality changed when he encountered boxing, he wanted to feel the same, he wanted to be reborn as a person just like Tyson did, he wanted to leave from being the person he's been all his life, he wanted to know how it feels to be strong.
Pd: I mixed images from the anime and the manga so that the evolution in the author's drawing can be appreciated, which for me is remarkable.
Pd 2:
this manga started its broadcasting in 1988 and is still on air today.

Tess, Luna, Chrissy, and Megan headed to Tess and Luna’s college roommate Stephanie’s house to catch up with her and meet her partner, Riley.
Riley was born in Japan, but their mom and dad took them and their sister back to Willow Creek, where their mom’s family is, when they were 5. Riley moved back to Mt. Komorebi as an adult, and now they work as a chef and have moved in with their GF, Stephanie. Stephanie likes that while she’s the bubbly and sometimes overly-excited one one, Riley is chill and calm and dependable so it balances everything out.
Now, as Riley shyly talked to Tess and Chrissy, Luna nudged Stephanie and was like ‘oh my llama, Steph, they’re really cute’ and Stephanie nudged her back and was like shut up, but grinned in agreement. Once everyone had gotten to know each other a little better, Stephanie cleared her throat, and was like so, you guys, Riley and I are engaged. Luna shrieked with excitement and Tess was like Luna, you’re bursting my ear drum right now, and Luna apologized but rushed to hug Riley and Stephanie.
