Daily Scripture Text: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." - Isaiah 40:31 (King James Version)
Commentary: Isaiah 40:31 is a source of profound motivation and encouragement for believers. This verse illustrates the concept of spiritual renewal through patient waiting on the Lord. Just as eagles soar effortlessly above the earth, those who wait upon the Lord experience a rejuvenation of their inner strength and resilience. This passage assures us that God empowers His people to overcome weariness and continue pressing forward in their faith journey without losing heart. It inspires us to cultivate a spirit of endurance and hope, trusting in God's timing and provision.
Questions:
How does the promise of renewed strength in Isaiah 40:31 motivate you in times of difficulty?
What does it mean for you personally to "wait upon the Lord"?
How can you apply the principle of spiritual renewal through waiting on God in your daily life?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the empowering message of Isaiah 40:31, which assures us that those who wait upon you will renew their strength. Teach us to wait patiently on you and to trust in your timing and provision. Grant us the endurance to soar above life's challenges and to walk in faith without growing weary. May we find renewed strength and hope in you each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

#DailyDevotion Who Can Live On God's Holy Hill? Jesus, Just Jesus.
Tumblr media
#DailyDevotion Who Can Live On God's Holy Hill? Jesus, Just Jesus. Psalm 15 O LORD, who may come to stay in Your tabernacle? Who may live on Your holy hill? 2If you live perfectly, do what is right, and tell the truth from your heart. 3If you don't use your tongue to do wrong to another or bring shame on your neighbor. 4You despise one whom God rejects but honor those who fear the LORD. When you swear, you don't change it even if it hurts you. 5You don't take interest on money you loan or take a bribe against an innocent person. If you do these things, you will never fail. Well who is going to be able to stay in the LORD's tabernacle and live on His holy hill if these are the standards? Who lives perfectly, does what is right and tells the truth from the heart at all times? Who doesn't use their tongue to do wrong and shame their neighbor? Who despises whom God despises and honors those who fear God? Who doesn't break promises? Who doesn't take interest on money or a bribe against an innocent person (ok, maybe this last one we may have some hope). There is no one but Jesus Christ of Nazareth who does all these things, all the time, without fail, from the heart, in the right spirit as the LORD our God demands. As the previous psalm confessed, “There is no one who does good, no not one.” Thank God, Jesus has done all these things for us, in our place. He has opened up the heavenly tabernacle, the holy hill, the New Jerusalem to us by his life, death and resurrection. Now if you believe this, you are not going to be just sitting on your hands and living licentiously. You are going to want to live your life as the Holy Spirit describes here. Now what does it mean here to live perfectly, doing right and telling the truth from the heart? I think the rest of the psalm describes what that is like. First, with the help of the Holy Spirit you are going to take control of your tongue. James says in chapter 3, “2All of us sin much. If anyone doesn't sin in what he says, he's a perfect man who can control his whole body.” So what we are being asked to do is to keep the 8th commandment which Luther explains as such: We should fear and love God that we may not deceitfully belie, betray, slander, or defame our neighbor, but defend him, speak well of him, and put the best construction on everything. True, not always easy to do, but we can practice it. Despising the one whom God despises and honoring those whom He honors seems to be a little tougher as we also try to listen to Jesus' command not to judge others. Teaching false doctrine is something we should despise and teaching true doctrine is something we should honor. To despise false teachers is to not listen to them. To honor true teachers is to listen to them. Is that it? Paul tells us we should not associate with those who call themselves Christians but who live contrary to the way of life he has handed down to us. None of us is perfect, but we should confess our sins and admit our faults when we do sin. Here we are speaking of those who have been corrected but refuse to admit their faults and say their sin is not sin. Jesus told us not to swear. So too the Psalmist tells us to keep our oaths even if it hurts. We can do this with the help of the Holy Spirit. But better not to swear at all but be a man of your word. We are called to not charge interest in loans to those who borrow from us. Certainly he has in mind money loaned to family and friends, fellow Christians. It is best just to give it to them without hope of ever receiving it back. If you do these things, you will be doing well. It's like when James tells the Gentiles in Acts, “Don't be sexually immoral, eat blood or food that is strangled.” The rest will come. Heavenly Father, grant us faith to trust in Jesus and then give us your Holy Spirit that you may live out your life in our lives so we may be pleasing to you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. The Liberation of Living by Faith | Galatians 2:19-20
For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:19-20
CALL OUT: Today, I'd like to call out Chuck Peter from Roseville, MN, who yesterday marked his third year using our devotionals for his weekly Zoom meeting with his guys. It's my privilege to be a part of your group every week.
Galatians 2:20 is undoubtedly one of the great verses of this chapter and the entire letter.
Paul's point is that all our actions are futile. The law proved it. Our best actions on our best days were insufficient to reconcile our relationship with God. We needed the perfect action of a perfect man, Jesus, God's Son. Through his perfect work and his sacrifice for us on the Cross, we live. But from this point forward, it's not our life we live. It's his life.
The life I live is a life lived by faith—faith that both saves and sustains—faith that saves me from eternal damnation and sustains me while I am still in the flesh. Thus, it is pointless to accept salvation by faith and then live my life by my works (which is what the false teachers were teaching). Instead, I should accept salvation by faith and live his life (not mine) by faith in his work (not mine).
So here is the call to action for us based on this text:
We wake up, look in the mirror, and say aloud in faith, “I will not live by my power today because I am dead, and Jesus lives through me.”
Say it aloud throughout the day; believe it because it is the truth.
#FaithInChrist #SurrenderedLife #LivingByFaith #ChristInMe #GraceOverWorks
ASK THIS:
How does the concept of "dying to self" and allowing Christ to live through us challenge your approach to daily decisions and interactions?
Reflecting on your own journey of faith, what practical steps can you take to shift from relying on your own efforts to embracing Christ's life within you on a daily basis?
DO THIS: Say aloud, “I will not live by my power today because I am dead, and Jesus lives through me.”
PRAY THIS: Father, I humbly surrender my life to You, acknowledging my inability to save myself and embracing the transformative power of Christ living within me. Help me walk in faith each day, trusting in Your grace and allowing Your Spirit to guide my every step. Amen.
PLAY THIS: Give Me Faith.

Little is Much
Matthew 14:15-17 “And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.” As armchair observers to the lives of…

Stop using "I'm waiting on God" as an excuse for fear and procrastination. God is waiting on you to take the next step of faith and obedience. #faithwithoutworksisdead You're waiting on God and He is waiting on you to MAKE A MOVE. Faith without works is dead. When you move, He will move mountains for you. #faithandwork Noah didn't wait for it to rain to start building the ark. Why are you waiting for the "rain" in your life before you act? #waitingongod You can pray until you faint, but unless you get up and try to do something, God is not going to put it in your lap. #waitonthelord Don't stay in the boat, when God is calling you to walk on water. #livingbyfaith If you don't do your part, don't blame God! #waitongod Check out this YouTube video I did titled, "Don't Let Ideas Die". Daily Scripture Text: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13 (King James Version)
Commentary: Philippians 4:13 is a powerful declaration of faith and confidence in God's empowering presence. This verse reminds us that our ability to overcome challenges and accomplish great things is not dependent on our own strength, but on the strength we receive from Christ. Believers can find motivation and inspiration in the assurance that through Christ, they have the capability to face any circumstance and achieve God's purposes for their lives. This verse encourages us to rely on Christ's strength and to approach every task with faith and determination.
Questions:
How does Philippians 4:13 motivate you to face challenges with confidence?
In what areas of your life do you need to lean more on Christ's strength?
How can you apply the truth of this verse to pursue your goals and dreams?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the empowering promise of Philippians 4:13, which assures us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Help us to rely on your strength and not our own abilities as we navigate life's challenges and pursue our goals. Grant us unwavering faith in your power and provision, knowing that you enable us to accomplish what seems impossible. May we live each day in dependence on you, glorifying your name through our actions. In Jesus' name, amen.

Faith is not believing God can do something. Faith is not hoping He will do something. Faith is thanking God in advance. Jesus said, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."- Mark 11:24 " So wait a minute! I’ve got to thank God in advance before I get it in order to get it?”.. Yes! If you thank God after you’ve got it, that’s gratitude. When you thank Him in advance, that’s called faith. Let's say for example someone handed you a cheque right now for a thousand pounds, would you wait until you cashed it to say “thank you”? No! You’d thank that person right away. Yet the thousand pounds wouldn’t really be yours until you actually cashed it, because that cheque is simply a promise. When you are given the cheque, you can genuinely say thanks, believing that the promise is credible and that the person has enough money in the bank to cover that amount. Faith is like that. It is thanking God in advance. If God is telling you to go after something, start thanking Him NOW because it is already yours.. Signed, sealed and delivered! Amen 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 Follow @instamakingadifference for Daily Scripture & Encouragement 📲 Share and Tag all your friends 📢 Turn on notifications 🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸 #texttuesday#Godspromise#itsalreadyyours#givethanks#faithwalk#livingbyfaith#dailymotivation#dailyinspiration#Jesuslovesyou#trustGod#Godsplan#Godswill#belikeJesus#bedeeplyrooted#faithinspired#christianliving#christianfaith#goodnewsfeed#beautyfromashes#God#Jesus#HolySpirit#Saviour#biblequotes#biblestudy#biblejournaling#devotion#christian#instamakingadifference#makingadifference https://www.instagram.com/p/CL6TzTiFVUJ/?igshid=r5my1ad35r4a

My wife and I have been experiencing some of the more genuine and authentic new beginnings over the past three months and as we walk into September, we are encountering even more. Through the valley, on the mountains and all in between - God has always been faithful. We can’t wait to walk through the new doors that God is opening for us as Evangelists and more. Revelation 21:5 KJV - “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. Love Grown Cold
Matthew 24:12 “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” The newness of any relationship has a passion that excites and endears. Some call it the ‘honeymoon phase.’ Once that disappears, true love has the opportunity to grow.  The newness of the job wears off once we begin to find it routine.  The newness of clothes, computers, phones, and technology fades when they…

Don't stay in the boat when God's calling you to step out on the water. #walkonwater Fear can cause the best of Christians to miss out on the best of God. #getoutofyourcomfortzone Some of us want water walking blessings but we refuse to get out of the boat. #walkingbyfaith Don't judge Peter for sinking while you're sitting safely in the boat. #walkbyfaith Peter was the only one who walked on water besides Jesus, but he was also the only one who got out of the boat. Until you make a decision to believe, and then act on it, nothing will happen. #comfortzone If you want Jesus to teach you to walk by faith, be prepared for Him to ask you to step out of the boat. #comfortzones Everybody wants to walk on water, but nobody wants to GET OUT OF THE BOAT. #comfortzonechallenge When God calls us to step out of our comfort zone, He is not calling us to be comfortable in the situation.
