okay now I've played Apollo Justice trilogy, I really don't get the "he has 100 backstories" jokes. He doesn't. Let's compare to the Phoenix Wright trilogy, shall we?
full spoilers for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy ahead!!!
PW:AA: We learn a little of Phoenix's childhood, specifically what motivated him to become a defence lawyer. His mentor gets murdered. His best friend is tried for murder. AJ:AA: We learn a tiny fragment about Apollo. We only learn who his mother is, and that he is related to Trucy, he doesn't know any of this, and it's basically irrelevant, if not to explain why he has his perception ability. We learn nothing of his motivations for being a lawyer. His mentor gets imprisoned. PW:AA - JFA: His best friend is presumed dead like most of the game, and he is clearly grieving. Maya gets tried for murder. Maya gets kidnapped and it's traumatic for everyone. AJ:AA - DD: His best friend is murdered, he is grieving, although his character design looks dramatic, there is good reason for it. He is injured in a courtroom bombing. ※ I think the difference here is that we get to see Apollo effected, he is bandaged, he is making his own choices outside of what would be expected of the protagonist. We don't see Phoenix injured, his sprites don't change, but he's been plenty assaulted and stressed/grieving himself. I think if Apollo's sprite stayed the same people would react kinder to this.
PW:AA - T&T: Major backstory for Phoenix, his college days. He was almost murdered by his girlfriend, framed for murder, turns out his girlfriend is downright evil and has caused multiple murders. This past comes back to haunt him as he gets caught up in the plans of Dahlia to murder Maya, learning that he wasn't even dating who he thought he was?? Literally falls from a burning bridge trying to save Maya and is hospitalised. All the while some prosecutor he's never met is blaming him for his mentors death, which must hurt. AJ:AA - SOJ: Major backstory for Apollo, we learn he was taken in by Dhurke in Khura'in after his biological dad was murdered, being raised until he was 9 (?) with his foster brother Nahyuta, until he was sent to the US alone so he wasn't caught up in Dhurke's messy family situation. In the present Trucy is tried for murder. Dhurke visits and they almost die in a cave, they go back to Khura'in where Dhurke is tried for murder, is actually dead already. ※ What I think is important to see here are the similarities. Both Phoenix and Apollo are not the center force for these plots, the Fey family are, the Sahdmadhi's are. Phoenix and Apollo may have personal history with those involved, but what is playing out, honestly has nothing to do with them. I think the Sahdmadhi story feels a lot more crazy and convoluted because it is all told to us over one game (and mostly one incredibly long case), whereas the story of the Feys had been cast across its entire trilogy, with a lot of the intricacies learnt in the final game. I think where the Apollo Justice Trilogy trips up is the pacing of us learning information, not the information itself.
Phoenix experiences trauma in his past and present, Apollo experiences trauma in his past and present. They are formulaically similar.
Anyway that's my post. Take That!

Please please please tell me more about bunpollo
It’s bunpollo time!! 🐰
Trucy turns Apollo into a bunny on purpose. "It'll be a fun trick", she says. "Don't worry, I know how to turn you back", she says.
She does NOT know how to turn him back.
Apollo spends a week as a bunny. Trucy calls him Bunpollo the whole time. He hates it.
Apollo is furr-ious at first (Trucy thinks it's "super cute" when he angrily stomps his little foot) but eventually he has to accept his furry fate.
He's in the middle of a case, so spending the week in hiding isn't really an option. He does consider living the rest of his life in Trucy's magic hat after Klavier Gavin calls him cute, but Phoenix kindly reminds him that being a bunny is not an excuse to let his client down.
And so he becomes the first ever bunny attorney to defend a client in a murder trial. Trucy even makes him a tiny tie and a doll-sized red vest so that he can show up to court "in style".
The cool attire doesn't help. No one takes him seriously. Klavier calls him Hare Forehead more than once and the judge brings him carrots on the second day.
Eventually they have to postpone the trial until “Mr. Justice stops playing a rabbit and can take this trial seriously”.
Bunpollo’s having the worst time of his life. Things can’t possibly get worse than this!
They do.
That evening Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth joins them to dinner. Apollo finally snaps when Phoenix brings him a bowl of rabbit food and tells him to "enjoy his snack". After unsuccessful attempts from Trucy and Phoenix to calm him down, Mr. Chief Prosecutor himself tries to dissolve the situation. It doesn't work. First Apollo bites Edgeworth in the thumb, then Phoenix.
Apollo is put in a time-out box. The time-out box is put in to a car. They take a looong car ride – during which Phoenix wonders if he needs to go get a tetanus shot or not.
“He’s not a wild animal, Wright.”
“Yeah, so? We don’t know what kind of diseases he’s carrying!”
“STOP TALKING ABOUT ME LIKE I’M NOT HERE!!!”
The car comes to a stop. Someone lifts up the time-out box. Apollo secretly hopes that Mr. Edgeworth is going to throw him in the nearest river and so end his bunny misery.
His hopes are crushed when he hears a cheerful: “Ah, Herr Chief! Herr Wright! What brings you two to my office at this hour?”
The time-out box is left at Klavier Gavin’s office without much of an explanation. Klavier is very happy to see his “favorite furry friend” inside the box. Apollo is not happy to see him.
Klavier quickly finds out that having an angry bunny in his office full of cords and cables and scattered legal papers on the floor isn’t the best of combinations – even if the bunny in question does look very cute.
“Stop eating my aux cords, you little Scheiße!!”
Apollo is put in his time-out box once more. The time-out box is put in to a car once more. And once more, there is a looong car ride. This time no one accuses him of carrying any diseases. Instead Klavier plays him the demo of his upcoming solo album. Apollo decides he doesn’t like the music and proceeds to fall asleep during one of the ballads.
He wakes up in Klavier Gavin’s apartment.
Long story short, Apollo ends up spending the rest of his bunny days with Klavier. During that time he learns that 1) Klavier is actually a decent guy and really fun to be around, 2) his “anger” and “annoyance” toward Klavier might actually be just him having a big fat crush on the rock star, and 3) his bunny-self enjoys belly rubs. A lot. Like a LOT lot.
They cuddle in the evenings and it doesn’t even feel awkward after the first few times.
It’s his seventh day as a bunny. Apollo is comfortably in Klavier’s arms getting his before-bed-belly-rubs when he finally accepts that he might spend the rest of his life this way.
That evening he falls asleep as a bunny. The next morning he wakes up as his usual human-self.
There’s no obvious reason why he finally turns back into a human. It just kind of happens. Trucy says maybe Apollo needed to learn some kind of lesson "like in the movies”. Apollo thinks he was getting too comfortable as a bunny and the universe does NOT want him to feel comfortable. Ever.
So, it is the dawn of the first day AB (After Bunny) and Apollo’s freaking out because 1) he’s sleeping in Klavier Gavin’s bed, 2) he’s sleeping next to Klavier Gavin, and 3) he’s very, very naked.
Apollo’s thrilled to be back to normal (coffee doesn’t make his tummy hurt anymore!) but his joy is short-lived when others kindly let him know he isn’t “as cute” anymore.
The only one who makes him feel somewhat better about the whole ordeal is Klavier.
“I guess I’m happy to have you back as your normal self, Herr Forehead. I couldn’t imagine myself going on a date with a rabbit.”

Or maybe is the day Trucy is getting married and Phoenix and Miles are having a tiny argument about who should walk her down the aisle
Okie dokie dokie! I can write that!
Trucy is getting married to Athena bc I'm a Trucykes shipper-
Trucy is 23 years old and is getting married to 25 year old Athena.
Trucy was talking to her bridesmaids, Rayfa sitting on the bed bossing everybody around, Juniper styling Trucy's hair, Ema and Kay doing her nails and finally Pearl who is getting her accessories ready. Maya wasn't a bridesmaid but she was helping them with various things. The entire wedding was themed, a magical space station theme.
Phoenix walked on Trucy in her room and asked:
"How are you feeling, Truce?"
with his warm smile.
Trucy paused the everything they were doing and turned to look at Phoenix. All eyes in that room were on him.
She answered his question by saying:
"Honestly, I'm kind of nervous..."
Phoenix:
"I can assure you that everything is gonna be alright, Sweetie."
Maya chimed in:
"So, who's gonna walk Truce down the aisle, Nick?"
Phoenix paused for a second because they have not thought of that. So he tried to bluff his way out of this situation by replying with:
"Oh... The person that will get to walk Truce down the aisle is..."
"Ack! I just remembered!"
Rayfa answered his question with:
"Remembered what, Barbed Head?"
Phoenix:
"I promised Apollo that I would go and help him with organising the flowers! I completely forgot about that!"
And then he closed the door and ran off to try and find Miles.
Rayfa stood up from Trucy's bed and announced:
"I must know what Barbed Head was about to say. I'll go to try and find him. I will come back and provide you with that information."
Ema giggled a little bit and asked:
"Your Benevolence, I don't mean to be rude but you actually believe that Mr. Wright has an answer to that question?"
Rayfa turned to Ema and said
"Of course he would! He's the bride's, I mean my sister's adoptive father after all!"
Pearl giggled with her hand on her mouth and said:
"That's Mr. Wright for you, he bluffs his way through things."
Maya sighed and said:
"Classic Nick."
with a light smile on her face.
Phoenix was running through the entire ballroom they rented, desperately trying to find his husband.
Klavier and Apollo were setting the tables and chairs, the couple has had rings on their fingers for 4 years by now. They saw Phoenix running and he didn't pay attention to them at first but then Klavier called out to him:
"Grüß dich Herr Wright!"
[Greetings Mr. Wright!]
Phoenix stopped and he was panting, Apollo gave Phoenix a bottle of water to drink and he did drink it. Apollo then asked:
"Mr. Wright, is everything alright? Why were you running around like that?"
Phoenix was still panting a little bit but then he answered:
"I *pant* am trying to find Miles."
Klavier spoke up and said:
"Ich habe Herrn Edgeworth draußen im Garten gesehen."
[I saw Mister Edgeworth in the garden.]
Phoenix:
"E-excuse me?"
Apollo looked at Klavier and said:
"Wie oft habe ich dir gesagt, du sollst nicht mit Mister Wright auf Deutsch sprechen, weil er es nicht versteht?"
[How many times have I told you to not talk to Mister Wright in German because he will not understand?]
Phoenix was straight up confused at that point.
Apollo then answered Phoenix's original question:
"He says he saw Mr. Edgeworth in the garden."
Phoenix thanked the couple:
"Thank you, Apollo. Thank you, Klavier."
and he ran off again.
He ran to the garden to finally find Miles bossing the gardeners around to make everything absolutely perfect.
Miles smiled warm-heartedly upon seeing his husband of 16 years.
Miles spoke up and asked:
"What is the matter, Dear? There is only 1 hour left to Trucy's wedding."
Phoenix, panting once again replied with:
"I'm walking Trucy down the aisle."
Miles was surprised and objected to that with:
"No, I will be walking her down the aisle."
Phoenix had a disapproving look on his face and he opposed by saying:
"Her last name is Wright, so I'LL be walking her down the aisle."
Miles then went full on courtroom mode:
HOLD IT!
"If she took YOUR last name, then isn't it only fair if I walk her down the aisle?"
OBJECTION!
"No it's not! She always asks you for help and always hangs out in the Prosecutors' Building with you!"
OBJECTION!
"You are too reckless and clumsy to walk her down the aisle!"
Phoenix paused for a second before breaking the silence by saying:
"Ah.. I g-guess you are right..."
and he continued by saying:
"But it would just feel odd for you to walk her down the aisle!"
Miles argued:
"But you can not walk her down the aisle!"
Then, they heard a calming voice that has became slightly deeper over the years but still had that calming aura say "Heh." They turned around, only to see the long lavender haired 32 year old prosecutor has been hearing their argument from the start, he predicted where everything will be going. His boss was flustered and asked:
"P-Prosecutor Sahdmadhi! Have you been eavesdropping on my conversation with my husband all this time?!"
"Heed my words, Chief Prosecutor Edgeworth..."
he looked down and closed his emerald eyes as he said those words.
"I am aware of everything that happens. I happen to be everywhere."
those words had a more serious and intimidating tone to them. He bounced back to a casual voice and said:
"I have a solution to your problems."
Phoenix was a little surprised and said:
"What is it?"
The green eyed prosecutor said:
"It is..."
Trucy was in her room, not knowing who will walk her down the aisle. Her room was silent until her foster sister that is the queen of a foreign country suggested:
"We should make our way to the ballroom."
The scientific detective replied:
"We probably should."
Trucy's dress wasn't like any other wedding dress, it was like her stage dress but without the hat and this one was long and puffy followed by a long Gramarye magician cape, she had her hair in the same exact style as her mother's signature style. She walked outside of her room with her bridesmaids, the wedding was gonna start in 6 minutes so she had to go.
Her bride, the psychology lawyer wasn't there yet because she was gonna get walked down the aisle by none other than her step-uncle. Athena's dress looked something like a mixture of her debut lawyer outfit and was very space like with stars, planets and other various space objects drawn on it
Trucy looked sad thinking:
"Are they not gonna walk me down the aisle on my special day..?"
The wedding had started, only for Trucy to see both her fathers walking next to each other on the aisle. They usually walk while holding hands.
"Daddy, Papa? Who's gonna walk me down the aisle?"
They answered simultaneously with:
"Both of us."
90% of guests said that it was the best wedding they've ever been to.

Trucy peers into the pan from a safe distance. She's got a kitchen chair pushed against the cabinets, and both tiny elbows are plonked on the counter in the scant space she's cleared for herself between nearly-due bills and dirty dishes. Her chin is in her hands, and her whole body wiggles back and forth slightly, little socked feet kicking behind her. "How come you don't just pour it in all at once?" she asks, watching as Phoenix adds water to the hot pan a little bit at a time.
He hums, turning his body slightly so she can blow the steam away when it rises. "Well, it matters how it's incorporated."

Find the Words
Search your works for the given words and post the context of what you find! My given words (from @mxkelsifer) were danger, follow, color and decline.
DANGER
Trucy inched closer to the door, pushing on it gently so she could see more of the kitchen. She could see Daddy then, staring more into the depths of his own cup of coffee than the woman sitting across from him.
“So you’re still staying in contact with the legal community,” the woman asked, and Trucy noticed how the woman’s posture relaxed as she said that, how the grip on her mug was a lot less tight than it had been previously. “Does that mean you be contesting the Bar Association’s decision?” It was Daddy that tensed this time, Trucy noticed. “I don’t have any intention of doing so.” The woman’s face clouded dangerously, and Trucy was sure if she had that whip in her hands, Daddy would be feeling it across his face. The thought made Trucy swell in anger, but she did not run into the kitchen just yet--she wanted to see Daddy take care of himself, now that he wasn’t in immediate danger. “You’re a fool, Phoenix Wright,” the woman snapped. “You come so far, almost defeating me in the process, and you’re telling me that you intend on hiding away like a coward? The media paints you as a hero who can work miracles, but at the end of the day, you can’t even help yourself? You can’t even help the little girl that’s in your care? You disgust me. You’d let one tiny foolish incident stand in your way… clearly, I’d misinterpreted your dedication to the job—”
FOLLOW
While little brother claims he returned to America after his year of epiphany to help me, I cannot help but think that he wanted to help Phoenix Wright instead. I am Franziska von Karma, and I do not need Miles Edgeworth’s help. Those tears I might have shed before my own return to Europe were caused by the stress of not being able to prosecute, nothing more.
So, naturally, when Miles announced his return to the States without even once mentioning it before, I could not help but think that perhaps that Phoenix Wright was involved again. But Phoenix Wright is no longer a practicing attorney, so why would Miles need to help him now?
After two months, when Miles did not return to Europe like I’d anticipated, I decided to follow him back to America. Well, not entirely. I never follow. The cases here in Germany had simply grown stale, and although I despise America and its culture (or, what culture it pretends to have), I cannot deny that whenever I was there, I felt different. Challenged. Alive.
COLOR
Franziska's heart jumped, and it was all she could do to not squirm awkwardly under her sister's continued scrutiny. She'd been feeling out-of-sorts all day, but Lisbeth had done nothing but her best to be inclusive.
Alexander got to his feet, standing just behind his wife’s chair. “Go ahead. Open it.”
Franziska’s fidgety fingers finally made a dedicated attempt at opening the present; colourful paper fell away until only a box remained. After looking up at Alexander's encouraging smile, she continued, opening the lid of her present; it was a very pretty broach, the same color as her eyes. She'd once had one of a similar shade but different shape, but had lost it during a challenging crime scene investigation. Of course, Franziska herself had surmounted the challenge, but her broach had not.
Although it did not match, Franziska affixed the broach to the front of her dress. After some scrutiny, she decided that it would go well with her usual court attire. “You're family,” Lisbeth repeated and it was only once Franziska looked up again that she was taken aback by the warmth of Lisbeth's smile. Von Karmas were not nurturing, but it seemed that the years had affected Franziska's sister; Lisbeth was truly a Paffenholz now. Suddenly awkward for a reason she could not quite decipher, Franziska averted her gaze as she let the feeling rush through her.
Maybe Christmas wasn't so bad after all.
DECLINE
They’re careful in public, of course. Oh, Meredith might still manhandle him with wild abandon, grasping at fistfuls of robes when he particularly draws her ire, but it’s only when they’re in the safety of their own quarters that she brings her mouth crashing down against his, pinning him against the wall with one forearm, knee pressed up against his groin. She’ll kiss him hard enough to bruise, to break the skin if she’s not careful, and she rarely is. Meredith is the Knight-Commander, and this is the only space she has to let go, to be with one of the only people in the whole damn city who’s not scared by her, not even a little bit, and if that’s what she needs, then Orsino is happy to provide, because Maker knows, he needs it too.
With every other templar, Orsino knows he needs to watch his back. Even those who have never personally witnessed a mage turn into an abomination (a number that is rapidly declining in the disaster zone that is known as the city of Kirkwall) watch the mages with suspicious eyes, fingers twitching at any whiff of forbidden magic. And even though he knows it’s Meredith who’s at least nurtured, if not planted, these misconceptions in the minds of those under her command, the fear of an untimely death is the furthest thing from his mind when they’re alone together like this. If she actually wanted to kill him, she’s had plenty of chances already. But he knows, just as she does, that she needs him, just as much as he needs her. If somebody were to replace her, he’d have to learn a whole new playbook, and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be able to work together this … intimately with the next Knight-Commander. And there was always the chance that they could be worse.
Tagging: @genedar, @musashi, @squadron-of-damned, @princefado, @jake-marshall and anybody else who'd like to do this one! Your words are: roast, love, shade & inclination!

The Sound of Our Silence - Chapter One - Athena Cykes?
Tumblr media
~~~~
December 19th, 2027
4:05pm
Wright Anything Agency
~~~~
"...What do you mean, you're not Athena?"
It was Trucy's voice that piped up first. "Where's 'Thena??"
She couldn't answer. Children always make things difficult, even if they are large and almost fully grown. Her mind was stolen long before she was Trucy’s size, which made conversing appropriately difficult.
"Where did you put 'Thena?!"
"When you were told 'Athena' was coming to your agency, that was in fact, me." She smiled. "The girl with the legal name Athena Cykes is long dead. A missing child whose body was never found."
"Wait-" Phoenix shook out his head. "You misrepresented yourself to the Bar? That's grounds for disbarment!"
Trucy clung to her hat. "You should know, Daddy."
The ginger sighed. "I don't give orders. I never have. I just follow whoever waves the biggest stick in my face."
Phoenix gave her the same look that he gave Apollo when the latter announced his leave. "So who told you to misrepresent yourself as a deceased child?"
"Well, Boss, poker king, master of the slight of hand…" She flashed a sideways peace sign at him, a smirk on face. "Congratulations. Your closest companion just pulled a fast one on you."
"Edgeworth?!"
"The one and only."
"Who even are you? Was anything you told us true?"
She sighed, pausing and looking away. She knew the beast needed to die, but was she willing to resurrect another in its place?
"Who are you?"
"Name's Venus." Her voice was flat and cold when she finally blurted it out. "Venus Gyax. I'm from a valley outside Paris, France. I'm eighteen, a formerly licensed therapist…" She scrubbed the back of her neck like Apollo used to. "...and an escaped death row inmate."
Trucy nearly backflipped. "You're on death row too?! What did you do?!"
"That doesn't matter." She spit that out almost venomously, before her harsh voice began to splinter. "Please…. Just…. Please don't tell them I said anything…. They'll send me back… I don't wanna go back…" A tiny confession seeped out of her. "I don't wanna die…"
"Hey… hey, don't cry." Phoenix was never good when people started crying. "Please don't cry… just… tell us why Edgeworth choose you… why he did this."
Edgeworth was supposed to be an upstanding prosecutor. Why bend laws and have a French convict impersonate a dead child?
She forced her tears back down her throat, hardening her voice again. "Something about needing to force an old homicide open, the UR-1 case. Since that little girl who died was the only other possible suspect, there was no way to force an investigation or retrial." She began aggressively playing with her earring. "To be honest, I'm not sure if he actually came up with the idea or not, but he was the one who sprung me out of the clink. He also paid my medical bills when they discovered I needed a surgery. He saved me from execution, so I've always been real grateful. I was told it was because I would look like the poor girl with a bit of cosmetology work done, and was around the right age. So they had me trained to be an 18-year-old Athena Cykes. Although, it was more like a reprogramming. There were a ton of things I had to unlearn. They gave me the bar test at the end and I passed, but they refused to return my therapy license. They did have my Doctorate and Master's reprinted with the new name though."
"Why didn't they give your license back? Was it too suspicious?"
"No…" Venus sighed. "I lost it in Germany, not France. Since the revocation of my license wasn't related to my imprisonment, they wouldn't give it back. It's a little silly, a doctor without her license, huh?"
"So, Venus," Phoenix wasn't sure he liked saying that. "Do you really know psychology? Or was that just a really big bluff."
"That part's legit. Got my Ph.D in Analytical Psychology. Dr. Venus Gyax at your service… mostly." She began playing with her earring again. "Like I said, they took my license away. I can be consulted and do research, but I'm legally not allowed to perform therapy or write prescriptions."
"What did you even do? Disbarred lawyer to disbarred therapist, you have to do something terrible."
Venus glared at Phoenix. "One day you will force my hand and mouth, but today is not that day. Be glad I'm risking my throat as it is."
"I do have one more question, then I'll let you off… for now at least."
"Make it snappy."
"You were admitted to the ER under the name 'Athena Cykes.' If Athena's been dead for years now, why weren't you flagged?"
Venus looked at him in fear. "I… that I do not know, sir."
"I see." Phoenix stood up and looked down at the fearful Venus. "I'm disappointed, but I won't turn you in. You clearly are willing to fight for truth; even if you're keeping vital secrets."
"Please refer to me as Athena. I didn't get permission before I told you all this."
"Of course." He smiled again. "You and I are very similar, Athena. No wonder I just knew you were right for the firm. You keep helping me with my missions, and I'll make sure you're safe."
"Yes, sir. Of course, Boss."

What Is This “Ratattorney”?
Hello! I’m Sara Spirit-Small and I am the creator of the Ratattorney AU. The gist of it is, Phoenix Wright is a borrower who knows a lot about the law and does a little Ratatouille situation with Maya Fey to practice law. More or less the entire series continues on as normal, but with the added Frasier-style farce comedy of Maya not knowing how to be a lawyer but successfully convincing people that she is one. You may be asking many questions, not the least of which is “why?” to which I’ll respond... I’m a slut for g/t dynamics, especially borrowers, and mixed-size families, while also being a very big fan of the Ace Attorney franchise, and this is able to combine all of those into one neat little package that has taken over my entire brain for the last two months or so.
I wanna thank @musicallygt @might-be-tiny-gt and @sa-gt-tarrius because I could not have made this au this expansive without their input and a lot of the posts collected here either originated from one of them, was added to by them, or only exists because of their influence.

Au where the reason Edgeworth yeeted himself back to Europe after 2-4 is cause he's trans and got pregnant and wanted to have the kid without people knowing.
And he comes back in 3-5 with this tiny bundle of baby swaddled up tight. Edgeworth just passing his son off to Gumshoe so he can more closely investigate something and the big guy crying cause Mr. Edgeworth trusts him with his baby and also he's so Small!!!
Edgeworth running the trial with him strapped to his chest. 'The defense is fine with the whip so long as you don't hit him'. 'Obviously Miles Edgeworth.' 'Uh I'm not sure how I feel about the baby-' 'The prosecution is fine with the baby. Let us begin.' 'ah well alright then.' Franziska taking him halfway through the trail cause he's getting fussy and She's better at calming him down. (Edgeworths arms are just grateful for the break frankly)
Edgeworth demanding Wright put on a cold mask before he gets anywhere Near the baby. Phoenix full on waterworksing because Baby! Miles Baby! He's holding Miles baby!
Edgeworth absolutely enamoured with his baby boy. Seeing that same devotion in Miles that we saw in Gregory I love my son Edgeworth.
Phoenix inviting Edgeworth to come stay at his place after the case is over because he'll have a second set of hands and it has a kitchen unlike a hotel and- and I missed you Miles. Please?
Edgeworth curled around the little baby box between them on the bed and admitting just to Wright how uncertain and terrified he is. How exhausted he is.
Edgeworth blinking awake in the late hours of the night to Phoenix sitting up and holding the little guy (because honestly the only way he sleeps right now is when he's being held.) Falling back asleep completely assured his son is in good hands. Phoenix just so easily slipping into fatherhood like a duck to water.
Shields seeing dotting Father Edgeworth and just having one more like father like son moment. Edgeworth emotionally adopting Kay and Sebastian and blaming the hormones (even though that's bullshit) making him imprint on children.
Phoenix adopting Trucy. Full time Dad Phoenix taking care of her and Miles son. Edgeworth supporting them. Literally raising their children together. Trucy having Two brothers to use as assistants during her magic show.
Dadworth.

Tickle Snippet: Magic Tricks
Fandom: Ace attorney, Apollo and Trucy (no romance)
Note: Of course I had to do something like this with the magician character, haha! I could hardly call myself a tickle fic writer if I didn’t!
_._._
“And… Behold as our dear Polly here is now cut in half!” Trucy twirled her cape dramatically as she then heaved the box containing Apollo’s upper torso a little ways away from the box containing his lower half. Her daddy and papa applauded with amused smiles. Though she suspected that her daddy’s smile was mostly from Polly’s deadpan bored expression.
“Woah! That’s amazing, Truce!” He clapped and he went to stand up.
“Uh! Daddy. We’ve yet to do the most important part,” Trucy smiled with an exaggeratedly disappointed head shake. “Mister Papa?”
Edgeworth then thought for a single second before then faintly smiling as he then tapped his temple. “I’m afraid, Miss Wright, that I unfortunately know this trick already. There’s another person in the other box. I suspect Athena if I had to guess.”
Trucy giggled, “I’m afraid you’re mistaken Papa.”
Edgeworth frowned. “Can I have some evidence?”
“Well… A magician never reveals her secrets but I could do as the typical magicians do and prove it the good old fashioned way.” She then sauntered to the other box containing Apollo’s lower torso. She gestured obviously to his shoes sticking out the box. “Polly?”
Apollo rolled his eyes and then wiggled his foot. But Edgeworth looked just as confident in his totally wrong statement.
“I was thinking something different Polly!” Trucy chirped innocently. “I was more thinking… a teency little secret I found out a couple of weeks ago.”
“A secret?” Apollo tried to shift so he could see whatever she was doing but he couldn’t see past the box. “What secret?”
“Oh you know the one! You’re secret!” Trucy smiled widely as she quickly tugged off his right shoe.
“Hey! What are you doing?” Apollo questioned before feeling any words be punched out of him.
“A tickle tickle tickle! Tickle tickle tickle, Polly!” She had whipped off his sock and somehow pulled out a tiny little bright blue feather duster and was now frantically wiggling it across his foot. Ah… That secret.
“HA! HAHAHAHA! Ahahahaha! T-Trucy! AHhaahaha! Stohoahahap! You’re so embarrassing eeeeheheheah ahahaha!” He immediately tried to thrash but his ankles were locked in place.
“Now that’s firm strong evidence,” Phoenix laughed.

The Problem with Apollo’s Backstories
It’s very rare I see this. So far, I’ve only seen two posts on Tumblr about this, but I’ve noticed a few posts that make mention about Phoenix Wright having no backstory. Now, whether they were made as a joke to not be taken seriously or not is something I cannot confirm. That being said, it did bring up something that does come up often: the problem with Apollo Justice having too many backstories. The thing is, Phoenix Wright has just as many backstories as Apollo, yet no one seems to make mention of it or perhaps are not aware. It made me question how this is possible. Certainly, if Apollo’s three backstories stick out like a sore thumb, wouldn’t Phoenix Wright’s three backstories stick out too? Shouldn’t Phoenix also have the same amount of complainers about having too many backstories?
I am a true believer that there is no such thing as a bad idea, but bad execution. I think Phoenix’s backstories are an example of Apollo’s backstories done correctly. To understand this, I’m going to go over each of Apollo’s and Phoenix’s three backstories, and explain where Phoenix got it right where Apollo did not.
With Apollo’s first backstory in the game Apollo Justice, where Apollo is introduced as the main protagonist of this game, we find out that he used to work for Kristoph Gavin at the Gavin Law Offices before finding out he murdered Shadi Smith. Later on, we find out his bracelet matches Thalassa Gramarye’s in her picture, proving that they are mother and son. Through Zak, we find out that Thalassa was once married to a different man before he passed away, believing that her first born had died with him. This draws the connection between Apollo Justice and Trucy Wright as being half brother and sister. And… that’s it. This information does not effect Apollo, since we don’t know his life outside of this during the time of the game’s release, and he does not know that Trucy is his half sister. This backstory does draw a connection between the two long lost siblings, but without any knowledge to create a reaction, it feels empty and shallow. It wasn’t until the two follow-up games that we get more of Apollo’s character and development that fans of the game began to care enough to demand the two half siblings discover their long lost relationship they are not aware of.
For Phoenix Wright, his backstory is the all-knowing class trial back in his elementary school. On one school day, Phoenix Wright was accused of stealing lunch money from a student, due to being sick and being dismissed from school that day, leaving him without an alibi. This lead to a class trial where everyone, including the teachers, shamed him, even though Phoenix claimed it wasn’t him, then crying over the humiliation and shaming. Just when Phoenix was about to forcibly apologize to this student, the student stands up and makes the claim that, since no proof was given that Phoenix had taken the money, he is innocent until proven guilty. A second student also defends him, leading to the teacher deciding to pay for the lunch money that was stolen. From that moment on, Phoenix became friends with the two students that stood up for him: Miles Edgeworth whose money was stolen and Larry Butz who was the second student to stand up for him.
The first thing that makes Phoenix’s backstory different is it creates a motivation and relatability. This backstory tells the story of what motivated Phoenix Wright to become a Defense Attorney. He had befriended the two boys that stood up for him when he was accused of theft at school. One of those friends grew up to become the Demon Prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth, who is known for falsifying and withholding evidence. When Phoenix tried to contact him, he would not answer. So, Phoenix Wright became a Defense Attorney both to meet with him and save him. With this, comes with relatability. Phoenix is someone longing for the friend he once lost, something most of us can relate to – if you’ve ever had a childhood friend, whose friendship broke apart over time. This creates motivation for Phoenix and the players to wish for Miles Edgeworth to return back to being Phoenix’s friend again. With Apollo, on the other hand, his first backstory doesn’t give us anything to relate or motivate us to want him and Trucy to discover their real mother or relation. The mention about Apollo’s biological father does come up, but not until Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, which I will get into later. Because of how shallow and empty this backstory feels, it’s no longer Apollo was called a Gary-Sue when the Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney first came out.
The second backstory for Apollo finally gives us something concrete. In this second backstory, Apollo had grown up with Clay Terran in a boarding school. We get a flashback of Clay crying because someone in his family died (I can’t remember who. Comment if you know). Apollo cheers him up with his “I’M FINE!” speech. This became a motto for him and Clay. From this backstory, we finally find out that Apollo had grown in a boarding school during his youth with Clay. We finally get a motivation and relatability from Apollo Justice to make us care and cheer for him. There’s just one problem… what does this have anything to do with Apollo’s connection to the Gramarye and his relation to Trucy? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. That’s where Phoenix’s second backstory differs.
For Phoenix Wright, his second backstory tells that he began studying at Ivy University to study on law and art. From there, he met a beautiful lady named Dahlia Hawthorn at the library inside the courthouse. She gave him a heart-shaped bottle as a token of their love and they hit it off. Having dated Dahlia for nine months, he began showing off his little gift to all his friends at the university, even when Dahlia asked him to give it back. Just then, Phoenix came across Dahlia’s ex boyfriend named Doug Swallow, who met with him to warn him that Dahlia was not who he thinks she is. Angry, Phoenix pushes him, then finds him dead not long afterwards. He is arrested for murder, defended by Mia Fey – who is an already established character, in the tutorial first case of the third game of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. Through Mia’s defense, Phoenix realized that not only did Dahlia’s gift turn out to be evidence used to poison Mia’s boyfriend, but Dahlia had also tried to poison him with his cold medication and was the one responsible for Doug’s murder.
Just like with Apollo’s second backstory and Phoenix’s first, this creates relatability and motivation. It creates a motivation for why Phoenix was angry at Miles Edgeworth during the second game, why he trusts Mia so strongly and why he would go to Hazakura Temple, once he sees someone that looks like Dahlia. This also reveals one of Phoenix’s major flaws as someone that considers betrayal and murder by poison inexcusable actions, much like how Apollo’s second backstory reveals how and why Clay’s death pushes him to distrust his colleagues. Unfortunately, what Apollo’s second backstory does not show is any connection to the first. With Phoenix’s second backstory, it connects back to the first and second game. It explains how Phoenix met an already established character, explains why Phoenix was cross with Edgeworth in the second game and follows where the first backstory left off with wanting to become a Defense Attorney to meet with Miles Edgeworth. Aside from Apollo growing up in a Boarding School, confirming that he is an orphan, and why he always shouts “I’M FINE!” we get no connection or follow-up from the first backstory. There’s no connection to his former boss, Trucy or the Gramarye’s. Thus, Apollo’s second backstory feels like a separate story from the first, whereas Phoenix’s second backstory feels like a follow-up to the first.
Apollo’s third backstory is that Apollo’s father, Jove Justice, came to the Kingdom of Khura’in to play music inside Durke’s home. One day, a fire arose and Jove Justice was assumingly murdered. Dhurke had miraculously saved Jove’s infant son in the nick of time before the rest of his residence was burned, hiding in the mountains with his eldest son, Nahyuta. From there, Dhurke had raised Nahyuta and Apollo in the mountain as their father, watching them grow up. Unfortunately, because of the laws in the kingdom where Defense Attorneys were prisoned with any client declared Guilty and Dhurke being an outlaw, he sent Apollo to the United States. From there, Apollo never saw or heard from Dhurke or Nahyuta again, believing all his life that Dhurke had abandoned him.
Again, like the second backstory, this gives us relatability and motivation. Leaving any family is something all of us feel saddened about. It also follows up with the relatability of Phoenix’s first backstory of being close with someone, only to grow apart from them with age. But, again, there is no connection between this backstory or the other two. What does this backstory have anything to do with Apollo’s connection with the Gramarye, relation to Trucy, friendship with Clay, growing up in a boarding school as a youth or his reasons for saying “I’M FINE!” all the time? NOTHING! There’s not a single callback to any of these, not even to reoccurring characters from the fourth or fifth game. Nothing on Kristoph Gavin, the Space Center, nothing. There is mention of Jove Justice being Apollo’s biological father, but do we get anything on Thalassa or the Gramarye’s? Even a tiny bit? Nope! Any connection with Jove Justice and the Gramarye’s to explain how he may’ve met the daughter of the famous Magnify Gramarye and they may’ve fallen in love? Nope! Again, I get nothing. It’s sad, because the story could’ve also added Thalassa into the mix as being Jove’s singing partner, a subtle picture of her and explaining why she might be so talented in singing. The fact that the second case does involve the Gramarye, I think, is a missed opportunity to draw a connection to Apollo’s third and first backstory.
For Phoenix Wright, his third backstory is in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, believe it or not. This backstory takes place during the seven years between the third and fourth game. Phoenix Wright was defending Zak Gramarye for the murder of Magnify Gramarye. During this trial, he presents forged evidence unknowingly, which Klavier Gavin reveals to be forged via the surprising Witness. From there, Phoenix is disbarred from law and his client Zak disappears from site. Trucy, who is Zak’s daughter, is left behind and Phoenix cannot find any living relatives, thus decides to adopt her as his own daughter. From here, he turns his law offices into a Talent Agency for his new daughter and takes the job as a piano/poker player. He befriends the only Bar Associate that voted him to be innocent, Kristoph Gavin, who had used his friendship to stalk and watch him.
Again, this creates relatability and motivation as someone losing their job for unfair reasons, entering fatherhood and being manipulated by fake friends. This also is a great follow-up to the trilogy itself and confirming everything that’s already established canon such as Phoenix considering poison and betrayal to be inexcusable, which is what Kristoph does. It establishes the relationship and connection with Trucy and even Apollo. Even as weak as Apollo’s backstory is, it is enough to give Phoenix a strong motivation to take him in as a student. With how strong this third backstory to Phoenix is and its connection to the trilogy as a whole, it makes me wonder why he wasn’t the protagonist of this story. Though, it does conclude what this third backstory does so well that all of Apollo’s backstories do not do: continue where the previous left off.
With every backstory Phoenix gets, it always continues where the previous left off. They connect well like a puzzle. Each piece matches well and never feels separate. With each new backstory, it continues where the previous left off. The second backstory continues where the first and second game left off and the third backstory continues where the trilogy left off. With Apollo’s three backstory, they feel so disconnected, it’s like trying to fit three unmatching pieces together, while ignoring the rest of the 197 puzzle pieces. Sure, the third backstory might’ve mentioned Jove Justice as Apollo’s biological father, but we don’t know anything about Jove or Thalassa, their relationship, how they met or anything. Was Thalassa the lead singer when Jove played, like she is as Lamoure? I don’t know. Even Apollo growing up at a Boarding School or how he went there is never explained in the third backstory. Did Dhurke send Apollo there and pay for his classes? I don’t know.
In conclusion, Apollo’s problem with his backstories are not that there are too many, but that they do not connect. Backstories must fit together in order to work. There has to be a cause and effect. Phoenix Wright has full backstories that have always connected perfectly like puzzle pieces. He has one of the strongest established backstories in Ace Attorney, alongside Miles Edgeworth, who technically has four backstories. That just goes to show you can’t have too many backstories. Although, you can have botched up backstories that do not match up that makes it feel like there are too many backstories.
What are your thoughts on this? Feel free to comment, whether you agree or disagree. I might make a follow-up to this to explain how Apollo’s three backstories could be fixed to where they feel complete. It really depends.

Snow
AO3 link here
Summary: Apollo recalls his first experience with snow in the Khura'inese mountains with Dhurke and Nahyuta.
--
The Kingdom of Khura'in...or, to be more specific, the faraway mountains. A relatively safe haven for the Defiant Dragons as they planned their coup d'état against the tyrannical Queen Ga'ran Sigatar Khura'in and her equally tyrannical Defense Culpability Act.
The Defiant Dragons had multiple bases set up in the kingdom, from dilapidated buildings to even the complex sewer system underground. They even had spies within the ranks of the royal guards, stealthily observing the queen and her family's every actions - observations that they would then report back to their superiors.
Yet, time and again, the mountains proved themselves to be the primary base of operations for the Dragons. Standing at the pinnacle of the world, the mountains provided a great barrier of nature, one that proved to be impenetrable. No matter how many of the royal guards were sent out, the Dragons could conceal themselves within the dense forests and the vast fields. Even the deepest of lakes and the fastest of rivers could hide them from prying eyes.
But the mountains were also a dangerous place to live in. While the royal guards were a main concern, there was also the matter of other dangerous creatures roaming in the wild. One could easily find themselves face-to-face with a predatory animal like a tiger or a wolf, or a misstep could send someone falling off a cliff to their untimely demise. And, of course, there was always the matter of finding enough food to last an entire group...or a small family.
Dhurke always kept this in mind. Even after all the years he'd spent hiding in the mountains, living in that little shack, he knew there was danger to be had. Not just for himself, but also for his two boys, Nahyuta and Apollo.
Especially Apollo.
From the moment Dhurke took him under his wing, the young child had grown into quite the little spitfire, always full of energy and vigor, and always eager for adventure. Take away that piss and vinegar, and you get just that: a child, all alone, with his father dead and his mother missing. It broke Dhurke's heart every time he recalled the incident: the fire burning away at the palace, Apollo as an infant crying for help as his father lay dead...
He was so lost in thought that he didn't hear the fast pitter-patter of bare feet against the wooden floorboards, nor the sound of a door being swung open. The rush of cold air and a startled squeak, on the other hand, were enough to snap him out of his thoughts.
Dhurke turned around to find Apollo running towards him. His tiny hands were wrapped around something white and mushy, and his cheeks were bright red. He was also shivering from the coldness to the point where Dhurke could see his pointed canine teeth like little fangs (dragon fangs, according to Datz).
"D-D-Dhurke," Apollo spoke up between shivers. "What's this? It's s-so white, and wet and...and...and c-cold!"
Dhurke blinked in surprise. Then, he smiled. And let out a hearty chuckle. He knelt down to affectionately give his foster son a pat on the head, just behind his tiny horns. His other hand came up to poke the white stuff that was slowly but inexorably beginning to melt in Apollo's smaller hands.
"My boy," he said. "All this time in the mountains, and you have no idea about the natural world outside?"
Though, given the circumstances, he figured that being forced to hide from Ga'ran's royal guards was the main factor. But he didn't dare tell Apollo that. Instead, he took a clump of the white and wet...thing...and cupped it in his hands for Apollo to see.
"This is called snow," he explained. "The mountains are topped with it. And, at a certain time of year, it is what covers the land and makes it cold and white."
"S...suh-now..." Apollo slowly repeated.
Dhurke nodded. Apollo took a deep breath and said it again, with more confidence this time. "Snow!" He tossed the last bits of snow into the air, and watched as it scattered on the floor in small droplets.
Apollo frowned. "But if the snow covers the ground, then what happens to the grass, and the plants, and..."
Dhurke chuckled as he stood up. "Well, why don't we find out for ourselves together?" he asked. He went over to the closet and pulled out a large blue coat for himself as well as a smaller red coat for Apollo. He also took out a pair of mittens and boots to keep their hands and feet warm as well as some scarves.
Once Apollo was fully dressed, he followed Dhurke outside the shack and into the fields. More snow covered the ground, blanketing the world in white. Dhurke watched as Apollo gasped in awe at the new surroundings, his eyes sparkling with delight. He then looked down at the snow and ducked down on all fours to dig through it, as if he were searching for his hidden cache of a freshly-killed rabbit or squirrel.
Dhurke knelt down to Apollo's height as he put a hand on his shoulder. "You wish to know more about what happens to the grass and plants when the snow falls, don't you, son?" he asked.
"Uh-huh!" Apollo nodded with enthusiasm.
Dhurke sat down in the snow and pulled Apollo onto his lap. "Well, at this time of year, the plants and grass need to rest and recharge, like the rest of us. When the cold seasons start to settle in, they..." He paused, unsure where to go from there. "...They retreat back into the ground. The earth gives the plants the energy that normally would not be found just by obtaining sunlight and water alone, and the plants, in turn, give themselves to the earth to be reborn again."
He turned to the riverside. "And it's not just the grass that needs to rest, too. Ice forms over the water, and the fish within have to sleep for a very long time. It's the same with some animals, too. Some of them store up enough energy to sleep through and survive the long, cold nights and short days. And others retreat to warmer places."
He glanced up at the sky, noticing that it was starting to snow. "Apollo, listen carefully. Winter is a time when you should reflect upon your past and plan ahead for your future. It is a time to rest your body and mind so that you will be ready come the next spring. But most importantly, it is also a time to remember the fallen ones and to honor their spirits so that they will be reborn anew. And the snow is a symbol of it all - of death, of rest, and of rebirth. That is what makes the life cycle so incredible."
Apollo nodded. "OK," he said. "But what can we do with the snow?"
"How about this?" an older, yet still boyish voice sounded from behind them. As if on cue, Dhurke felt something cold and wet hit his back, startling Apollo. The two of them turned to find Nayhuta dressed in his white coat. He held a snowball in one hand as he grinned, his jade eyes standing out amongst all that white.
Dhurke stared at Nahyuta in bewilderment. Then, he chuckled. "Where'd you come from, my boy?" he asked.
Nahyuta smirked as he clutched his snowball with both hands. "Oh, you know, Father," he said rather innocently. "Just thought I'd surprise you both."
"Well, you certainly managed to accomplish that." Dhurke slowly got up just as Apollo hopped off his lap. "And now, you're going to get it! Raaah!"
Without warning, he scooped up a large clump of snow in his arms and threw it at both his boys. Nayhuta laughed as he dodged the wave of snow. Apollo, however, wasn't so lucky, as he tripped over and fell face-first in the snowbank.
Nahyuta gasped in shock and dropped his snowball as he rushed to his brother's aid. "Apollo! Apollo, are you alright?"
Luckily, Apollo wasn't injured at all. He simply sat up to wipe the snow off his hair and face and glared up at Nayhuta. "Yuty, we gotta get back at him!" he declared.
Nahyuta blinked. Then, he smiled and nodded. "Yeah, you're right," he said. "For the Defiant Dragons!"
The two boys quickly gathered up as many snowballs as they could before launching them at Dhurke. Their father laughed as tiny white orbs pelted his coat before retaliating with some of his own snowballs.
Even as Dhurke continued his snowball fight with Apollo and Nahyuta, he couldn't help but feel a dreaded thought nag the back of his mind. Though the snow held its own beauty, it also came with a danger of its own. Prey animals would become scarce, while predators could take desperate measures by invading the shack in search of any fresh meat they could find. And, of course, there was always the possibility of Ga'ran's followers coming into the mountains in search of them.
He knew that someday, one of his two sons would have to leave Khura'in for his safety. And he knew that day was fast approaching.
But for now, as he lay in the snow with his sons at his sides, Dhurke was happy to live out a snow day free of worry...a day where he and his family would be safe.
At least, for now.
* * *
"What are you thinking about, Polly?"
Apollo yelped as Trucy's voice startled him out of his daydream, so much so that it nearly caused him to fall out of his chair. After taking a moment to regain his composure, he then took a quick look at his surroundings.
Gone were Dhurke and Nahyuta along with the little shack in the mountains, replaced with the warm and messy (yet familiar all the same) office of Wright Anything Agency. Trucy was leaning over his desk in front of him, staring at him with concerned sapphire eyes.
Apollo sighed with exasperation as he rubbed his finger against his forehead. "Trucy, how many times do I have to tell you not to wake me up like that?" he complained. "It scares me every time."
Trucy withdrew from her perch atop Apollo's desk. "Sorry, Polly," she said. "But you looked pretty zoned out. What were you thinking about?"
Oh...that.
Apollo sighed as he relaxed in his chair. "Just...thinking about the times I used to play in the snow as a kid, I guess," he answered solemnly. "Snowball fights, snow angels...even sledding..."
Trucy tapped a finger to her chin, like she usually did when she was thinking hard. "You really miss all the fun times, don't you?" she asked. "It's not like you to feel down in the dumps, you know. You're usually a lot more serious than that, Polly."
And by serious, you mean grumpy, thought Apollo as he pouted a little.
Trucy glanced out at the window...and let out a gasp. "Polly! Polly, look!" she squealed excitedly. "It's snowing outside!"
Apollo blinked with surprise. "Wait, seriously?" he asked.
"Seriously, Polly! You gotta take a look at this!" Trucy pressed her gloved hands against the glass window, grinning with excitement. Apollo got up from his desk to look out the window. Almost right away, his eyes widened with amazement at what he saw.
Outside the office, he saw multiple snowflakes gently falling from the sky, blanketing the city skyscrapers in a soft and fluffy white. Down below, he noticed that some of the streets and sidewalks were empty, as if the people down below had chosen to leave room for nature to take over.
Almost unconsciously, Apollo found himself recalling Dhurke's words: "Winter is a time when you should reflect upon your past and plan ahead for your future. It is a time to rest your body and mind so that you will be ready come the next spring. But most importantly, it is also a time to remember the fallen ones and to honor their spirits so that they will be reborn anew."
He couldn't help but curl his lips into a small smile, remembering his first snow day in the mountains, in a world where he lived alone with his family. He wondered if they were doing the same, looking out into the window of their hideout, remembering that very day...remembering him.
"Hey, Polly!"
Apollo looked down at Trucy, her grin having morphed into a broad, toothy smile. "You wanna go and see if Mr. Gavin and Ms. Skye have taken the day off? I'm sure they won't resist a good snowball fight...or two. It'll be a good way for you to unwind as well."
Apollo thought this over for a moment. Then, he smiled. "Heh, why not?" he replied, his mind picturing a moment where he could finally knock that stupid, smug look off of that glimmerous fop's face.
"Perfect!" Trucy bounced over to grab her coat. "Then let's go make some calls and tell them to meet us over at People Park!"
"I'll be right there," Apollo said. "Just...need a moment." Once he was sure Trucy was gone, he leaned against the windowsill and looked outside once more. He let out a deep sigh as the memories came back to him. For the first time in his life, he realized just how alone he was, in America, without his family by his side.
Yet, at the same time, he couldn't help but think about the new friends and the new family he'd gained here. A group of close confidants who would always have his back no matter what.
He smiled. No matter what happened next, he would be fine.
