MARWA (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (TV SERIES)) (CW: Mind Control)
1.) okok so a major character (nandor) uses a genie wish to bring back the 37 wives he had when he was human (he’s a vampire who was turned in the 1400s but is alive in the modern day) to pick his favorite to live with and settles on marwa. she’s established as someone who’s passionate about science and mathematics, but nandor uses his genie wishes to essentially mold her into his perfect woman like a doll, from changing her hair color to making her not want to go to the night market with him to making her like all the things he likes. this culminates in him LITERALLY TRANSFORMING HER INTO A BRITISH MAN NAMED FREDDIE and that is her send off from the show. the treatment of her is disgusting i’m sorry for ranting i love wwdits but honestly the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth
2.) WHERE TO START my god. Marwa is introduced into the story as one of a crowd of women who are interchangeable to the man summoning them, WHO IS HER CANONICAL HUSBAND but he gives less than half a fuck about her, which is played for laughs. The writers made it completely unclear whether she is a real person or basically a magical simulation with no inner life and did not bother to clarify that at any point. Her plotline consists of her husband using magical wishes to modify various aspects of her body and mind and the writers never explore whether she is aware this is happening or not, much less how she might be experiencing it. It is a terrifying psychological horror story from her perspective but we are not given any insight into her perspective so who cares I guess!! For example, he wishes for her to have a rounder ass and then wishes that all of her preferences align perfectly with his own, so that she'll stop nagging him about wanting different colored flowers at their wedding than him. There are SEVERAL more examples. Her experience of having all of her desires replaced with her husband's desires shows up only for jokes, plus one moment that is used to confirm that her husband's real love interest is one of the other male leads in the show. (I ship the two male characters, I'm not complaining about that, but like COME ON SHE WAS A HUMAN PERSON ONCE AND SHE IS LIVING IN A HORROR MOVIE AND THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE DOING WITH THAT???) THE WORST PART is that when it's time for her to exit the story because her body and personality have already been essentially replaced by magic and she is now a boring toy, she is LITERALLY PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY transformed into a random British man so that her husband can have that guy as a love interest instead of her. She (he? It? Again it is never NEVER explored whether Marwa is like, alive inside this British man's mind somehow? Or if she was ever really alive in her body?) moves to England to be in love with the original British man she was based off of, so basically her twin. This is also played for laughs. Her entire personality and body are not even killed off with like a death scene but literally ERASED FROM REALITY AND REPLACED WITH A COPY OF THIS SHITTY WHITE DUDE.
3.) (Context: Nandor is a vampire who has been alive for a while. When he was human he had 37 wives. (Btw some of the wives were men but that’s besides the point.))
She was brought back to life (along with a couple others) via Djinn wish just because Nandor wanted to have a ‘wife’ (some of the ‘wives’ are men). After being deemed the ‘best wife’ by Nandor she is the only one left alive. It is clear the entire fourth season that Nandor doesn’t care for her much and she is only there because Nandor wants to be married to someone. He ignores her wants and interests the whole season. Via another Djinn wish Nandor makes Marwa like everything he likes so she is more agreeable with him. Later on, he meets another character’s boyfriend named Freddie. Nandor basically falls for Freddie immediately and via Djinn wish, wishes Marwa to be exactly Freddie. :| With that wish, Marwa is effectively gone. She now looks and acts like Freddie. The two Freddies meet and after freaking out a little (and some magic) they get along because they like the same exact things. By the end of the season both Freddies are sent off to never be seen again. Also, Nandor has some extra Djinn wishes so he could’ve turned Marwa back but he didn’t.

MIKOKO SAKAZAKI (KAIJI)
1.) She is one of two (2) women with a speaking role in the manga (which has been ongoing since the 90s), and was the first female character to appear at all. She has a crush on the protagonist, Kaiji, but this is treated as a joke/ as gross because of her appearance. She is meant to be ugly because of the size of her nose and lips and therefore is invalid as a person. She has no role other than to pester Kaiji with her crush, and despite him ignoring or acting weirded out around her constantly, her attraction to him never fades. She gets almost no characterization outside of this and is only seen once after Kaiji leaves, where she is drawing a manga where he comes back to her. When she's shown once in a bikini, the sight is so disgusting to the protagonist that he sprints away at full speed. Despite this, she is sometimes used in ads for the series.
2.) Her face looks "too much like her father's", yet he never receives any negativity for it. Every single male character in the manga has the same style of facial features, yet when the creator puts them on a woman it makes her mockable and gross.

(referring to your tags on a post) i'm so curious why you dont believe fkmt has outright condemned capitalism in his work with kaiji! i feel like that blatant condemnation is what makes up kaiji's whole appeal! although i'm definitely seeing his past (perceived by me) values getting "wishy-washy" in part 6 to say the least, if that's what you mean... but other than that, i feel like kaiji's whole plot has been pretty consistently caused by capitalism, and that teiai being the prime (and only true) enemy really displays that! would u disagree?😯 /genq
i hope this doesnt come off as confrontational or abrasive bc that's not my intention i'm just genuinely curious since it's a take that's so different from my own!! either way, take care!!
I can’t remember/find which post you’re referring to to look up the actual wording so imma take your word for it.
When I say he never “outright” condemn it I think I meant that he’s aware of the systemic problem but only to an extent. Like he recognized the class struggles that built capitalism, but that’s abt it.
It’s a thing I kinda noticed with cishet male writers lol. They’re aware of the classism and mistreatment but they’re also participating capitalism a lot of the time (bc patriarchy and capitalism always go hand in hand <33). When you compare his works to that of queer/women writers you can see how his approach is not to dismantle the system and make a new one but to play the game and hopefully cheat his way to the top.
Of course I believe that compare to other cishet writers he’s more kinly aware of certain things. He def understand that the system his characters are under do not allow the working class to hold onto wealth for too long (Kaiji literally loses his money to greedy businessmen everytime he wins lmfao).
I do believe he does condemn capitalism at the end of the day, what I wanna say was that his perspective is informed by his experience as a cishet man and that’s why I think he didn’t “outright” and not that he “never condemn”. Fkmt will say “society” before he says “capitalism” imo lmao 💀
But then again my takes are influenced by my personal experiences and biases as well, so I’m open to discussion anyday, so dw abt coming off confrontational or anything lol.
P/s: I haven’t read part 6 yet so I don’t know what to even say abt it 🤷‍♀️

Hi.... If you don't mind, can I ask your top 5 (or top 3) favorite characters from Bungou Stray Dogs? And why you loved them? And your top 5 favorite moments from the series? Sorry if you've answered this before.....
No need to apologise, I’m happy to answer! :D
Lets see, fave characters, it’s so hard to narrow it down to just five because I love most of the BSD characters
Surprise to no one, Chuuya. I love my scrunkly boy. For as little as he appears in the main story he steals every scene he’s in, his light novels have so much character to explore. His backstory is wild. There’s so much for me to sink my teeth into in terms of character and so little there’s a lot of room to theorise. He has a fun personality to attempt to write as well. I have a lot of Chuuya posts so I won’t rant too much about him here.
Kunikida was definitely my first favourite character. Strict but caring, follows the rules but they are his own rules, reluctant mentor figure, thrown into a high position at such a young age, really smart but such a dumbass. Dazai’s character in season 1 wouldn’t nearly be so enjoyable if he didn’t have Kunikida to reign him in. I love his dynamic with Atsushi, he doesn’t want to be a mentor, but he doesn’t want this kid to get hurt. So he tries to land somewhere in the middle. He tries to get Atsushi to arrive at the right conclusion himself, he wants him to grow on his own, but will be there for him when he needs it.
Yosano, BSD needs more Yosano content. Again, I loved her dynamic with Atsushi during the train heist. Her and Kaiji’s conflict of beliefs about the value of human life and death was so interesting. Her past with Mori was definitely interesting too, but I am much more interested in seeing more of the present day Yosano. I don’t want her to be forced out into the field, because that’s something she doesn’t want, but I would love to just know more about her role in the agency. Her day to day. More of her beliefs. More exploration of how her trauma affected her ability to heal people. Is she even a real qualified doctor?? Did she actually go to med school??? Because some part of me wouldn't be surprised she didn’t, given her history.
Akutagawa siblings. I’m putting them as one because a lot of what makes Akutagawa interesting to me is his relationship with Gin. I love main timeline Akutagawa and all his complexities but Beast!Aku is golden. I love the Beast movie so much that when I picture Akutagawa I picture the actor, not the cartoon man, haha. They are both little creatures to me, I wish their dynamic was more explored. I wish Gin was explored more in general, pretty sure we see them the least out of all of Black Lizard.
Dazai. Here’s the thing, originally, I wasn’t much of a Dazai fan. I didn’t not like him, but he wasn’t my favourite. BUT then I started reading the real Dazai Osamu’s works and I love his writing. Rewatching BSD and starting the manga, after I had read some of Dazai Osamu’s works, gave me a better appreciation for the BSD character. NLH, Setting Sun, Flowers of Buffoonery and Dazai Osamu’s fairytale retellings, all very much affect how I view Dazai and how I write his character. I have a very love/hate relationship with writing him though because I’m constantly questioning whether or not he would do X actions, but then I remember the characters in the books would, so I write it in anyways, haha.
Honourable mentions: Aya, Kenji, Kyouka, Atsushi, Bram, all of The Flags, Lucy (Okay I’m going to stop before I list them all)
Favourite moments:
It’s got to be Chuuya fighting a literal dragon, right? I’ve rewatched Dead Apple a lot, I never tire of Chuuya throwing a building down a dragon’s throat. And of course Chuuya screaming Dazai’s name in the midst of corruption. Not even in a shippy way, but in the context of Dazai should be dead, as far as anyone else knows he’s dead, but Chuuya believes in his ability to survive. He believes even when it’s supposed to be impossible, if he uses corruption, Dazai will be there to stop it. And if he’s wrong, he accepts dying alongside him. That’s about as ride or die as it gets and I love it.
Atsushi jumps to save Kyouka. He has no reason to, other than despite all he’s been through, he still believes people deserve to live, they deserve to be told that. Kyouka was willing to die to stop hurting people, to pay penance for an ability she had no control over and Atsushi was willing to die trying to save her. I don’t care what people say, Atsushi is a good main character, I don’t care that he cries a lot or that he needs saving and losses fights. I care about how much he cares. I care that he sees good in people like Kyouka and Dazai, he sees the good in Lucy. Moments like this make me love BSD.
Similar vein, Lucy frees Atsushi. Helping Atsushi is a lose/lose scenario in Lucy’s perspective. The guild is all she has, the only place that has ever given her some value. Atsushi is the man that robbed her of that value. But in this confrontation she learns Atsushi is a lot like her, that in this one conversation he has attempted to understand her pain better than anyone else in the guild and so she takes a chance on Atsushi. She chooses to help him and Yokohama despite knowing it will cost her everything she has. And she does it with a smile on her face like it’s nothing. Love Lucy so much.
Ranpo can’t ride public transport by himself. This one is a little silly, but you see I am a neurodivergent adult who also really struggles with public transport. Trains scare the heck out of me, so I don’t go on them alone. Ranpo is just like me for real and it gave me a silly little serotonin to see it.
Okay, I tried not doing two Chuuya scenes but Chuuya showing up to save the agency in a helicopter and throwing bullets at the Hunting Dogs is also one of my faves. Especially as he was sent there to save them and then Kunikida goes and jumps out the thing and blows himself up anyway, it’s just funny. BSD does a good job of balancing action and humour and serious moments very well. This is supposed to be an epic sacrifice for Kunikida, his friends all think he’s dead. But looking at it from Chuuya’s perspective is funny. People say “Oh, why didn’t Chuuya do anything” like Kunikida really gave him a chance to. Maybe he did have a plan and maybe he didn’t get a chance to do anything because Tall, Blond and Explody over there leapt out the door.

✦ In which you were special to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She was his star, well not literally his star. She was on the big TV screen doing an interview on one of those late-night shows, while Gen was sitting on his couch remote in hand watching her.
He really can't believe they were the same age and {Y/n} had achieved so much more than him. All he does is stay in his apartment playing games watching TV and making a mess all over. And yet the most gorgeous woman is on his TV screen smiling and laughing with the host.
Seeing her smiling and laughing all about made him jealous. It's not like he wanted to be in her position, no he rather wanted to be by her side. Having interviews with her, and playing by her side at concerts. He just wanted to be by her side, but he was just an average civilian.
"And that ties up today's show with our special guest, {Y/n} {L/n}." A go-lucky voice spoke facing the cameras and mic. "We hope to see you next week," The camera started to zoom out and the host and {Y/n} were seen to be having a conversation.
The show went on commercial as it was over and the next show was about to play. Gen shut off his TV knowing what next will not be his {Y/n}. He got up from the couch going to the kitchen not so far away. Gen got himself a little snack before heading to bed. Though he couldn't sleep at all.
The only thing on his mind was the interview that was on the TV with {Y/n}. He hated they were the same age but she was doing so much better, he hated how she was always around other guys, and he hated seeing her on TV. But did he really hate it no he was just telling himself that like every other person in this universe that likes her.
But unlike everyone else, he was something special. A real talent to {Y/n} herself.
{Y/n} behind the scenes was about just the same as she presented herself to other people and her fans. She was a chill person and liked to lounge a lot. She didn't do much really at all.
Even though she had lots of fame, she acted like she didn't. Well, not in a bad way she was still nice to her fans and she liked it when they said hi to her.
Anyway, the other band members were quite the same as her. They all did nothing, the only time they did was when they had ideas for a new song. Even then it would take a few months before it was ready for release.
Some of them also like to play games together... well all of them played games together when they got the chance. Sometimes {Y/n} indulges her time in watching people play said games. One of her favorite streamers was someone named Narumi Gen.
She really liked to watch him. She really liked that he the same age and doing what he like, she liked how good he was as the games, she like his smiling and laughing though she was only behind a screen. And she really did like that about him, though she never met him.
Since Gen couldn't fall asleep he decided to start a stream.
As {Y/n} was lying in bed looking through her phone she got a notification that Gen Narumi was streaming.
The male started his stream. "Today is going to be a short stream. I'm tired."
The chat was a little sad but complied nonetheless as they couldn't do anything.
Gen talked a little and before he knew it the sun was peaking through his blinds and the early birds were chirping. "Oh, shit. Anyway, guys I going to have to end the stream." And that he did.
{Y/n} woke up when she heard a loud sound from her phone. She saw he was still streaming though he had just ended. She didn't even realize she fell asleep.
The female turned off her phone but she didn't get up from bed. She stared at her popcorn ceiling having her thoughts take over her brain. That was until she was rudely interrupted by one of her band members.
"Good morning, {Y/n}!" Her door busted open and the male walked over to {Y/n} leaning in front of her. His white hair facing down falling down his pale chiseled face.
The female started into his green eyes that were staring right back waiting for a response.
"Whatever good morning Jake."
"Oh come one, {Y/n}. It's a bright and early day you know what that means."
"That it's time for me to sleep in," She rolls over in the bed facing away from Jake.
The male lay in her bed taking her blanket to cover himself. He snuggled next to the female. "Fine then, {Y/n}. Let's take a nap."
The female shrugged her shoulder laying away from Jake though he brought her closer. He knew it bothered her and that's why he was doing it, to get her up out of bed.
And she did indeed cave in.
"I think we should get up Jake," {Y/n} sits up waiting for the male to get out of bed.
"You're right, {Y/n}. I think the band is waiting for us downstairs. He gets up out of her bed and the female follows out.
"I'm going to get changed. I'll be downstairs in a bit."
"Holy fuck," Gen curses under his breath. He stayed up the whole night talking to his chat even though he said to himself it was going to be a short stream.
He got up from bed. The first thing he did was take a shower as he felt disgusting. Gen couldn't believe he stayed up all night without even realizing, he didn't even feel tired either.
When he was done taking the shower he wrapped a towel around his waist. He sat in his bed scrolling through his phone. As he was scrolling he saw that [band name] was going on a tour. He didn't take a second chance and bought tickets for places he could visit, which was a few.
Finally, he could see her again in person. Well, this will be the closest he can get to see her.
"We're going to start packing, {Y/n}." One of the band members says.
"Ok, Ron." She gives him a thumbs up going back to her room.
Tumblr media
It was their first concert in a while and they forgot what to do. At least that's what they told each other but when they went out on stage that crowd went wild.
"We're back people!" {Y/n} screamed in the mic hyping the people up even more. "Just in case we forgot let's go over the members. We got Jake on the drums, Ron on the bass, Paul on the guitar, and {Y/n} (me) on a guitar and main vocals!"
"Let's get the show rolling!" Ron yelled into his mic playing some strings on his bass with Paul playing next. {Y/n} played her guitar waiting for the vocals in the song. Jake was waiting for his drums to come into the song as well.
The crowd went wild as this was the most popular song to date. Gen had to watch on YouTube as he couldn't make it to this concert. When the camera switched off {Y/n} he would wait for it to go back every time. He would also sing along sometimes without knowing it.
{Y/n} and Paul were back-to-back playing their guitar solo together. The two played as the drum queue came in and {Y/n} went back to vocals.
The concert went really well for their first time back on stage. When the concert was over they had special Vip tickets they sold where they can meet fans. They went behind stage to meet said fans that were wating.
Again, this was being filmed but not live. There were only a few fans for this little meet and greet. So, it was nice and didn't go on to late.
The band went back to their trailer and {Y/n} was the first to fall asleep. Jake snuggles up next to her to which she doesn't mind when they were going to sleep, it kept her warm.
Meanwhile, Gen was looking at hotels he could stay at for the week. He wasn't rich but he also wasn't poor at the same time. Gen had a nice and stable life he could live. So buying a few hotels to stay at for the concert wasn't too detrimental to his paycheck.
He stayed up pretty late finding places to stay at and when to leave to make it to the next concert.
Ron was the first to wake up like usual. The first thing he did to start his day was go outside to take a nice whiff of fresh air along with a cup of coffee that was made by Nolan.
It was nice for him to wake up without the rest bothering him like they would. Especially Paul who had him do everything that he could, and Ron wanted a break early in the morning when no one else would be awake.
Only the sound of the beautiful nature in front of him. And the cars on the highway could be heard. It was peaceful.
The next to wake up was Gen.
He looked at the time wondering why he had woken up this early. He lay in bed on his phone for a while looking at the news and the VIP interaction with the band on YouTube.
How he wished that was him. Well, it will be him tomorrow.
Ron got back in the trailer ready to get on the road. Nolan woke when he heard the start of the engine. He knew Ron was ready to leave.
"Hey, Buddy. You ready to leave," He asked sitting in the passenger seat.
Ron looked over nodding his head a yes. "Yeah, Ready to visit our next destination. We can let them sleep, they worked hard."
"So did you Ron. Let me drive." Nolan got up as Ron moved from the driver's seat. "Plus no offense I don't want you to crash this trailer, it was kinda expensive."
"I can drive," Ron was kinda offended by the guy's words.
"Sure you can."
Gen decided to get on the road so he could explore the city.
Tumblr media
Another day another prepping from the concert. They had just got to the stage they were going to perform at. {Y/n} and Jake didn't want to do anything like always.
Paul and Ron had to carry most of their instruments and gear. Though Jake and {Y/n} didn't just sit there. The both of them greeted the people that would be working there, such as the bodyguards and a few other people.
Heck, they might have been busier than Paul and Ron, they only didn't have the physical labor. They had to walk around talking to people and explore the stadium.
Once they were done, Paul and Ron were waiting for them.
"When did you guys get done?" Jake asked walking up on the stage seeing the two sitting down on the floor talking to each other.
Ron looked up and saw the other two band members walking up one step in front of the other. "Oh, we've been done for a while."
"What about you guys?" Paul asked looking up and seeing {Y/n} and Jake tired and slouched over.
"Tired, we had to walk around this whole stadium. My legs are tired." Her legs gave out and her ass fell to the ground. Jake caught her shoulders setting her down lightly.
He sat down next to her taking a long sigh. "She's right. And the guys showing us around was so boring. He kept talking and talking about the history of this stadium."
"Yeah, he wouldn't stop talking about it. It's like the guy thought we were little kids too. I swear he was using smaller words, and I almost caught him talking in a baby voice." She groaned, "But at least that's over."
Ron spoke up, "But is this place nice? Are the people nice? Are there any faults?"
"Oh," {Y/n} speaks, "This place is nice. The people are nice. And there are no faults. So we're safe and so are our fans." She gave them a thumbs up.
They all just sat there on the stage all just chilling and on their phones. That was until the moment was ruined.
"Get off your phones. It's time to practice a little then you can explore the city." Nolan walked up to the four looking down at them.
They all collectively groaned not wanting to get up.
"Come on, Nolan. Can't we stay here a little longer?" Jake asked looking up at the male a sad look on his face.
"No, now get up." He rushed them up off the stage.
They practiced for a while, then a longer while until Nolan said they were good. After they were done and all the sound checking was done for tonight.
Gen was walking around the city. Seeing the sights and walking in and out of the stores. Even though he was by himself Gen was having a great time. You don't have to have a good time with other people, sometimes all you need is yourself.
As he was walking down the street, he could've sworn that he had seen {Y/n} and Paul. He looked back but they were already gone. Maybe he was seeing things.
He shrugged his shoulder ignoring the thought. And if he did I bet he would have to wait in line.
He looked at the time and thought it was time for him to get dinner if he wanted to make it to the concert on time and not get too full and puke, that would be embarrassing.
'Well, I could get her attention if I did that.' He wondered about the situation in his head if it did happen. If a hand, her hand reached out to him and helped him.
"What would you like to order?" The last at the counter asked.
Gen got out of his thoughts and ordered his food at a small cafe that he found. He sat down at a table with an iced coffee in hand. He was scrolling on his phone seeing what was going on.
He saw {Y/n} story, she was in the same city and she had just set up her stage for tonight. He clicked through the story seeing she was exploring the city with her band members.
{Y/n} and Paul were playing with their guitars. Playing songs and trying to see who could hit the harder note. Jake was sitting by his drums waving around the sticks. Ron was plucking at his bass tunning it.
It was almost time for the concert and they could see people already in line. Gen was waiting in line. He was one of the first people in line as well.
Tumblr media
It was [band]'s last show in the tour. Gen had been to at least 8 concerts, maybe more he wasn't counting.
The sky was dark not even a single star in the sky, but there was a brighter star on stage, {Y/n}. Gen was standing close to the stage, he was in a great view to see the female.
The stage was dark with only a stage light in the back. The venue wasn't too busy as they were in a small area. Half the stage lit up showing the silhouettes of the band member.
{Y/n} grabbed the mic, "This is our last show of our tour. I wanted to end this show here if you didn't know this is our hometown."
Wait, this was their hometown? Gen had no idea he and {Y/n} lived in the same place. How did Gen never see here... Well, I guess he never left his house a lot.
"I want to sing a little special, we have been working on this song, and it will probably never be released."
She strung her fist string a Cm, Paul came in next playing a soft guitar. Ron's bass was on low but you could feel it playing through the guitar.
"My dear I won't leave you. I'll be right here." She was singing in a soft angelic tone unusual from what she would sing.
Some people knew what song she was singing. A song that was forgotten in time.
When they were done the crowd erupted in cheers and claps. It was so beautiful. Some of the people recognized the song.
It was the Lulu bubbles {Y/n} mom used to sing to her. She had a song nice calming voice and would sing to the town all the time. She told {Y/n} when she was a baby to do what she wants. And this is what she chose following in her mother's steps.
The rest of the concert went as normal. They sang their song and the crowd loved it. When the concert was over some people were going backstage for their VIP experience.
And Gen was one of them. In fact, he bought the special pass.
The normal VIP only had two people. They asked questions about the members and about the band.
Gen waited his turn outside the room. Which didn't take long. When the normal VIP was done he stood up taking a deep breath before walking into the room.
His star was sitting on the middle of the couch with the three boys surrounding her. She was sitting there with a smile on her face along with the others.
Those {Y/n}'s smile dropped when the male sat down in front of them. Gen didn't seem to like her reaction, he was nervous himself.
"Wait. I know you." {Y/n}'s voice was so shocked. "You're Gen! Narumi Gen!"
The male was confused as to what she was going on about. But he was surprised that she knew his name.
"I love to watch your streams! I love your videos!" {Y/n} was fangirling over one of her biggest fans. What an odd twist.
"Oh, well thank you. I love you--r music. I love your guy's music!" He saved himself before he said anything too embarrassing.
"Thank you," Paul spoke up.
"Do you wanna come to the trailer with me?" {Y/n} asked a big smile on her face.
Nolan walked forward taking the female's shoulder. He looked down at her with a dissatisfied face. Gen looked at him, a shiver sent throughout his whole body. He was scared of the man.
"Why do you need to go back to the trailer?" He asked in a low voice.\
"Dad, please. I just need to get something." She begged.
Gen was a little confused. The manager of the band was {Y/n}'s dad. Never in a million years would he have guessed that.
Nolan rolled his eyes rubbing her temple. He sighed annoyed and motioned her that the two could leave.
"Thank you, Dad!" She gave him a tight hug. She grabbed Gen's hand and he let her guide him.
{Y/n} ran with Gen following behind, well he didn't have a choice. Gen was so memorized by the female. His biggest star was fangirling over him. That comes once in a lifetime, just barely.
The [h/c]-colored female couldn't believe she was holding her favorite content creator's hand. Though Gen couldn't see it she was blushing like crazy.
They had finally made it to the trailer. {Y/n} opened the door letting Gen in first. She shut the door behind them. The male was already sitting down to {Y/n} join him.
"I can't believe this," She said looking at him. Gen coked his head sideways. "I can't believe we like each other, content I mean. I had no idea that I would have a fan that I'm a big fan of."
"Me either. I would never believe that I would ever meet you."
The two sat there silent. It was a little awkward but they didn't let that get in the way. {Y/n} may seem quiet, but in fact, she was quite bold.
She gave Gen a kiss on the cheek. That made him look at her. She gave him a full-on kiss, he was shocked but leaned in. Though the two had just met for some reason they just hit it off. Their chemistry shot through the roof.
The female sat on top of Gen as their kiss went deeper. I mean the guy couldn't complain this is one of his biggest dreams, to be touched by a star.
She let go of the kiss. {Y/n} looked at his red eyes admiring them, his eyes reminded her of the top of a sunset, so fierce and beautiful.
Gen's straight lips turned into a bit of a smile. The woman was going on to get another kiss as she got distracted by the male beauty. "Before we continue would you like to be my boyfriend?"
Gen nodded his head and was going for the next kiss until Nolan kicked the door open.
"I swear to the Gods above if you don't get off him {Y/n}!" He yelled scaring Gen.
"Dad," {Y/n} whined getting off her new boyfriend. "I swear we are officially together now."
Nolan shook his head and walked off leaving everyone confused.
Though Gen was in his own little word stating at a star so bright. He was starting at his star. What he can claim to be his forever. {Y/n} was his star.

Talk to me about Kaiji part 4... OR abt something youre currently reading/enjoyed recently idk how up to date I am w that 🐴💕
i almost bonked u for a fave emoji but now i see that horsie :) hehe hi horsie
kaiji part 4 is so one of my favorite death games PERIOD like outside of its kaiji context the arc does something i havent seen anything else do.. kaiji, the protag, isnt playing the game hes forced to only spectate it and comment on it. and so is the calculating antagonist! and that take on the 3rd party commentators is one of the only good examples of it ive seen (usogui is another good example) in opposition to how liar game does it (and everything else that copied it)
CAUSE ok my rules are
1. ur narration should, as much as possible, be from someone IN the gamble. what do i care what someone not in the game THINKS, MAYBE, is the gamblers' motivations? let the gamblers speak for themselves- about each other and about themselves. let THEM lie.
2. if u do have outside commentators, that commentary needs to ADD something and it CANNOT be stuff thats just thrown away later. example: in liar game the commentators will tell u "this gambler did this for that reason" and that turns out to be WRONG. so on a reread u remember thats literally not true and can easily skip the pages and not lose any information. thats very bad.
im OK w narration (from outside and inside the game) misleading you- its the bread & butter of gambling fiction. but that has to ADD something. it cannot just be clutter and lies. theres a great example of the ref lying to the audience in usogui but i cant get into it w no spoilers so trust me i do love it when the narration lies to my face sometime. cuz it adds meaning to a text!!!
AND THATS what part 4 is about. the gambler protag is forbidden from playing (at times literally tied up!!!) and its allllllllll about the biases of narration and commentary. its about kazuya literally FICTIONALIZING this. hes writing a book from this!!!! and kazuya seeing everything through his "friendship is fake" lense, kaiji seein the same thing as PROOF trust & friendship r real... the players backstories being inserted at the most impactful moment, the ways kazuya lies to the players without technically~~ lying and so on. the question at the heart of the game: is friendship more valuable than money? is not even answered properly because of kazuyas manipulation AND of kaijis interference. the commentators are pulled back into the game- they are playing, too. may they want it or not theyre part of this "experiment", of this fiction. you, sir, are a space too- we live in a society.?
and as u pointed out theres an omnipresence of water imagery in the arc and this is kazuya projecting his own subconscious into it. this is kind of like what jigsaw does in saw 1 hes recreating his trauma and putting people in that situation to see how THEY cope so he can know what hes supposed to do too. (cause emotionally he lived his diagnosis like a saw trap. so hes putting other people in this death sentence to, yes, cope.)
kazuya lived his drowning like a choice everyone on the boat made to save someone else instead of him, so hes putting other people in a situation to choose between someones life and something else to see what THEY do. and, of course, they have to reenact that betrayal he felt or his trauma isnt just "how the world is, trust and friendship are fake" but actually something that was wrong with him. the game does not exist without him reliving his childhood through it. theres no story without the spectator, the camera, the voyeur.
& kaiji is reliving his own gambles! "theres no way theyll betray each other" because if trust & friendship arent real then all of HIS betrayals were just him being a fucking idiot. what grace and virtue is there in forgiving the one who stabbed you in the back if it turns out thats just human nature to be selfish. if its not the death game making people act unlike their true selves then kaijis just some mark who got scammed over and over again lol...
like all good death games, the game stands for something. in part 1 its capitalism (and most of the time in kaiji its this, work, money, addiction, class) and in part 4 too you see this rich japanese man exploit poor immigrants for entertainment and thats what the game is, but its also (childhood) trauma. "they wont kill each other because me and the 45ers, me and the guys on the steel beams, we didnt." and "emotionally, this was like being strapped to a chair and seeing my trusted one walk to the button, and kneel, and apologize, and cry, and not release me. and watch me die."

In the city of Shizuoka, just a day before the famous Valentine’s Day holiday, a certain socialite was busy going over some finishing touches and preparations for her Valentine’s Day Gala she was throwing tomorrow before a nicely dressed servant carefully and hesitantly stood a respectable distance away, just when they were about to make themselves known, the purple haired woman already beat them to it. “You better have a good reason as to why you’re interrupting my work.” The servant gulped before bowing. “Pardon me, my lady but there is a visitor here to see you.” Reika paused her planning and glanced at the servant, eyebrow raised, although she was slightly annoyed, she was more curious about who would visit her so early (and willingly). “Well, who is it?” She asked and the servant cleared their throat, looking anywhere except the woman before them. “They..uh, wish to be anonymous, er, at least until you see them.”
Reika rolled her eyes, this person had better be important for wasting her time like this, “Fine, send them in.” The servant nodded and just a tad bit quickly, left the room. It was a few moments before the sound of heels clicking on the floor alerted the woman to the other party’s presence, when she got a good look at them, however, she immediately calmed down and a smile overtook her features. “Kaiji, my dear!” She cooed, walking up to the shorter male and pulling him into a hug. The white-haired cosplayer grinned back and hugged her back, albeit gently due to the noticeably sized gift back in his hand. “Heya, big sis!” He chirped in his girl voice, a telltale sign that the effeminate male was feeling more feminine today. “Happy birthday! And early Valentine’s Day!” He cheered after releasing her from the hug, Reika smiled fondly at her “little sibling”.
“Thank you, Kaiji, not that I’m not happy to see you, dearest, but I’m a tad bit busy at the moment, you know that my yearly Valentine’s Day Gala is tomorrow and it has to be absolutely perfect, can’t have these idiots underestimating me.” She scoffed to herself before looking at the crossdresser, “So, is there something you need?”
Kaiji shook his head, “Yeah, I know, it’s really everyone could talk about, I promise that I won’t take long, I’m just here to deliver these gifts me, RenRen, and Maxi got you.” He held up the elegant bag and gave it a small wiggle, Reika paused, she wasn’t surprised that Kaiji had gotten her a gift but Ren and Max as well? Well, she was on good terms with both the rockstar and the boy so the thought of them giving her a present did make her happy. “Aw, well aren’t the three of you sweet?” She teased as she sat on the luxurious couch she had been occupying before, this time moving her planning books aside and patting the spot beside her, Kaiji took the invitation and sat next to her.
“Eh, it was nothing really, Ren likes giving gifts and Max wanted to thank you for letting him stay with you that time.” Kaiji carefully took the gifts out of the bag and placed them on the table.
Tumblr media
The first gift was a beautifully crafted ring made with obsidian, diamonds, and a large heart-shaped ruby front and center. The obsidian of the ring craved to look like skulls to hold the ruby heart in place. “This is from Ren, as you can see, money is no problem for him, honestly it looks like this ring suits him more but I guess the thought counts, you can’t deny that the man has an aesthetic though.”
Tumblr media
The second gift was a beautiful bouquet of purple chrysanthemums. “This one here is from Max! I gotta say, I did not expect him to actually come up with something that’s not completely horrifying, I thought for sure he was gonna give a literally beating heart but he managed to surprise me, he said that purple chrysanthemums symbolizes “care” and “thoughtfulness” and I almost burst out laughing, not that you’re not caring or thoughtful but….c’mon, anyways, I got the vase and the pearls so you’re welcome.”
Tumblr media
The third and final gift was a beautifully crafted heart shaped necklace made with blue gems and four very…dark red looking crystal orbs in the center. “And this one was made by Yours Truly, I could have bought you something, yeah, but you can’t beat a homemade gift, and people say that making cosplay props isn’t a skill, but anyways, I really hope you like it, I spent so long making it and I’m pretty sure resents me after I made him take so many trips to our mom’s boutique to get the gems. Also, another thing, you know the story of Elizabeth Báthory? The real life actual “Virgin Killer”? Well…let’s just say that I took quite a bit of inspiration from her, if you know what I mean.” He winked.
“Anyways, that’s it, I won’t take up any more of your time, besides I gotta stream in a bit so I need to get going but I hope you like them!” Kaiji gave Reika one last hug before standing up, “I already know the way out, happy birthday, sis!“
Happy Birthday Reika!
Reika looked at the gifts in front of her, a smile etched onto her face. While she expected Kaiji to get her a gift however Ren and Max were a surprise but it was a good one. She had become quite fond of the rockstar and the feral boy.
Gently picking up the ring, she slipped it on her finger and was pleasantly surprised to find it a perfect fit…how exactly did Ren know her size? Reika could only guess that he learned it from Kaiji. Letting the ring glitter in the light Reika was hit was the thought that the ring would match perfectly with the gown she picked out for tomorrow's gala. The skull wouldn't fit with the valentine theme but Reika didn't partially care and besides none of the other guests would have the courage to say anything to her about it.
Turning to Max’s gift Reika picked up the vase admiring the flowers. Caring and thoughtful? To the people, she cared about? Yes. Reika would go the extra mile. Her enemies? Cold-hearted and malicious was more like it. Yoko Miyano could attest to that. Shaking her head Reika made a mental note that the next time Max came over to take him somewhere special.
Finally picking up Kaiji’s gift Reika smiled at the thought of Kaiji spending hours making it for her. He was right though sometimes handmade was better. Placing the necklace around her neck Reika gave her reflection a quick check. Satisfied she gave a nod before turning to her planning books.
“Alright back to work.”
Thank you for the gift!

His Escape from Hell - CH 4
Characters: Yoichi Shigaraki, Second One for all User, All for One (Hisashi Shigaraki), and Gigantomachia (As bodyguard)
Relationship: All for One & Yoichi, All for One & Machia, Minor Second User / Yoichi
Warnings: Possessive behavior
Summary: Sequel to Treasure Vault. Yoichi has escaped the vault with the help of these rebel forces but he is still suffering the trauma and effects of the vault. He refuses to let that stop him, one way or another even if no one on his side. He has a goal he wishes to achieve.
Yoichi hasn't been entirely honest.
Not even to himself after the years of discovering his brother's new role as a 'demon' of japan.
For all his bravado, his very refusal to submit to his brother's wishes. To look his brother in the eye and refuse what he desired.
It all came from a soft affection of a little brother who still remembers the man that Hisashi was. Just wishing they could just go back to what they had used to be when it was just the two of them surviving together. Uncaring about the atrocities just wishing for his brother to be good and no longer acting as the monster he wants everyone to see.
"Are you listening? He isn't a victim he's literally the perpetrator of many terrible atrocities," Kaiji speaks and honestly Yoichi knows he isn't doing himself any favors but in this moment...
He wants to be heard.
"Do you think I'm blind? I'm his brother don't treat me like I'm an idiot like he does," Yoichi speaks with all the stubbornness his brother always says he has. His tone is almost sharp as he gets to his feet to make it clear he isn't joking right now and for the other to just listen to him.
It did seem to ruffle Kaiji who was likely not used to being confronted like this by allies especially since Yoichi had been quite a mess when he arrived. That thought infuriated him knowing right now the other might still be seeing that broken man inside the vault. He didn't wish to be like that forever, Yoichi was tired of feeling like a victim and wanted the other to see him as an equal.
Thankfully instead of getting pissed at being talked to like that the other simply sighs. His hand making a motion to continue even if the other seemed to be holding his own head likely from a headache forming.
Yoichi will admit he was sheltered as his brother did everything to make sure he didn't have to experience the worst of life. But he wasn't blind regardless of the damn hallucinations that haunted his waking moments trying to deem him as such.
Normal people have limits, normal people always choose the good guys, those are the ones that are loved. Yoichi learned this at a young age trying to emulate them because they were what should be good.
That isn't how his brother worked. He knew how to act as if he cared and feign the kind of decorum people were comfortable with. Their parents made sure of that despite him being unable to understand the why he knew the how.
But to his brother it was something he abhorred seeing it more like shackles as those were traits their parents pushed onto him. Until they were no longer around to care for them then they became tools to survive. Suddenly it wasn't just about himself and his needs, Hisashi made Yoichi his meaning to live and Yoichi... Well he didn't return the sentiment.
They saw the world very differently and Yoichi will admit he never truly saw how his brother saw the world. Living peacefully at home living off the care of his brother until he realized the job his brother took.
He never tried to understand, until now and knows it might be to late.
"I wished to be a hero," he allows those words to hang in the air trying to find the words he failed to tell his brother. "But more then anything I had wanted to save my brother from continuing this path. However, I also know I don't have the strength to stop him without it there isn't even a chance he will listen nor did I understand him when I did have that chance."
As long as his brother continues to believe he is against the world then he won't ever listen to his weak and pathetic little brother. If he was stronger and could assure his brother in some way he wouldn't die then maybe his brother would stop.
If maybe promised something that actually had worth instead of simply playing up his own heroism could have made him see reason. But all he had were these two quirks that had become one and yet...
Yoichi stares at his hand knowing the stockpile was his brother's gift it had hurt terribly. They both had realized there was another quirk in there and when his brother tried to take it back, fearing it might cause brain damage Yoichi resisted and that was his gift.
Memories of it were foggy.
It is also when the hallucinations began to happen in that vault. His brother claiming a few times he has not done certain things that he thought was his brother gaslighting him.
An epiphany. Something had come with his brother.
He hadn't gone crazy. His brother unconsciously left an imprint on the stockpile.
"I..." Yoichi speaks softly as in this moment he finally realizes this wasn't a specter standing beside him. Only at his most stressed did his brother appear invading his senses like he was truly there despite knowing he wasn't. Aware yet the bastard wouldn't leave despite knowing better.
But this also means that as he begins to remember a bit more that...
You wouldn't lock me away would you? Yoichi is the one with the power over these 'hallucinations'.
"My brother gave me a quirk before he locked me away but I already had one. I can feel his presence constantly and right now it not malice toward me but desperation," he stands up as he clenches his fist looking at the other. Then he stands up staring at his heroes expressions seeming to look back with his own resolve, "I know it's impossible. I know that in the end my brother would prefer a villain's death. Maybe even by your hands or someone elses hated by everyone but at the very least I want to be the one who keeps his humanity alive. This quirk at the least can be of use in finding him and maybe just maybe... It can do the impossible."
It was his code. Heroes always have a moral code and the many times his brother had wished for himself to be hated. To be feared so that he won't fear anything it only made Yoichi resolve harder to contradict it.
To look his brother in the eye and say he will save him even with blood on his hands not because he was naive. Not because he was foolish because even if his brother might end up dying he still wants to extend his hand. That even if for a brief moment might be able to see the brother who loved him underneath the monster he has become.
"I want to believe there are heroes who will do everything they can even to save villains," Yoichi speaks then gives Kaiji a gentle smile, "Because you gave me that chance despite knowing who my brother is. In a way you inspired me even if I might fail at least with you guys I can try."
Kaiji seemed to snap out of his stern demeanor those red eyes widening. Likely right now trying to do some rationalization at what Yoichi was declaring.
"That's hardly the same," Kaiji states as he gets up, "What exactly are you even saying? Regardless of your feelings you realize we will end up killing him, you and his situation are different. Despite knowing we will kill your brother you still want to join while refusing to do it yourself? You realize how insane you sound, don't you?"
Yoichi nods his head. Kaiji in this moment realized the other might be just as nut as his brother and yet...
"I can't believe I'm allowing you into the group still after this crazy nonesense," the rebel leader mutters more to himself with a heavy sigh. Yoichi's eyes brightened up as it seemed he got the other to understand his earnest feelings.
"We aren't telling a SOUL about this conversation and you better not get in the way either," he speaks firmly clearly trying to seem like a hardass. Which he was doing a terrible job since hearing all that and still accepting him into the group shows was a softie underneath. While also knowing every other vigilante is going to want Yoichi's head on a platter.
"I won't disappoint you!" Yoichi shouts with glee even as he can feel his brother's presence almost sneering. He will need to figure out how to use this but if this is part of his quirk then he will control it. He could use his brother against his brother.
It's just a matter of if the 'quirk' will cooperate with him and if he can't he needs to make sure he can't cause anymore problems.
------
To think you have lost your absolute mind.
His brother, or rather a vestige of him, speaks as Yoichi had gone to his room and 'meditated' to look within himself. Now he can truly see his brother or rather what his brother had left behind.
It was the perfect image of the man before he threw Yoichi into the vault still wearing his coat and his hair still a slight fluffy mess. Sitting in some throne chair that Yoichi knows belonged to him and a vault door behind.
You are setting yourself up for failure no one is going to care about you like I do and yet you are affiliating yourself with men who think you're a nutcase. Of course you are sprouting nonsense like saving a villain.
The man speaks but Yoichi isn't as bothered knowing this truly was his brother. Or a piece of him and he wonders if he was connected to his brother directly or not.
"Stop acting like you aren't my brother. I know you're him this is real and now that I'm aware of you I need to tell you that this is MY world," Yoichi speaks firmly and can see Hisashi tense as if aware of this fact yet acts unbothered.
Is it? Can't tell this just seems like the vault you left so would think it's mine.
The vestige speaks calmly upon this throne that looked so similar to the real life one. That All for One would sit in as did orders and acted as king, as well as when asked the thugs to capture Yoichi for him.
"Don't bullshit me. But guess I should be happy you keeping me company even as the annoying bastard of my imagination that I wanted to maul might have saved my sanity," he notes as he realizes he wasn't fully alone. That those 'hallucinations' actually had a source besides the waning mind of a mad man.
The young man across from him glares at him still trying to act intimidating and Yoichi wonders if his brother knows he left such a gift. Or it was only because of the stockpile quirk fusing with his power.
"This power... The gift you gave me against my wishes, I can't personally use it much," Yoichi admits as he looks at his brother knowing he can't talk to the real one. The real Hisashi would likely ignore his words but this one has to listen. "You refused to listen to me. You shoved me aside and berated me... Yet here you are for once trapped I would think you be happy to be stuck with me."
I'm not stuck here with you! You truly have gone mad if you think a hallucination is real.
Hisashi looked ruffled almost embarrassingly so because the illusion of power the other had was gone. If Yoichi wanted he could eliminate the other or at the least suppress him. Though he frowns as the other clearly couldn't give up his control.
The other was fighting back. Refusing to show weakness even to his brother with no one around. He was still scared.
"You don't have to pretend. Not even the real you can see you here I imagine," Yoichi notes but the other wouldn't relax. Those eyes stared at him intently as if expecting harm to him and in a sense he knew he couldn't keep him here.
If Yoichi can sense Hisashi with the vestige it also means if given the chance likely the vestige would communicate back. Thankfully he doubts his brother has a long range sensory but the risk is to great.
"...I wish you would just talk to me." Yoichi speaks softly knowing the other was just an imprint of his brother. Stuck in the space of where had been left behind even as the younger brother extends his hand, "Please, brother. I don't want to lock you away can we... Try to talk?"
"To the brother that will allow others to kill me the real me? Talking isn't an option and at this point you're just doing a performance," Hisashi sneers and Yoichi can't deny this. He didn't have the strength to prove anything and he moved his hands away as he guessed this was useless. "You're as fucked up as I am in these delusions."
"Language~" Yoichi teases watching the vestige get ruffled but he knows the other is serious. His eyes glance at the vault door and Hisashi tenses, "I don't want to kill you even if you aren't him. Maybe one day you will understand but-"
Suddenly there was a hand on him gripping his shoulder. Looking up startled he could see Hisashi's eyes glaring but almost pleading, "Don't you dare. You NEED me here to keep you safe, don't reject me."
Yoichi looks up at his brother with wide eyes. Memories of when they were young he recalled Hisashi's eyes used to be green but now looked like a void. Hanging on by a thread for humanity and he couldn't help but feel pity, "I love you. I always will brother, but you need to let me go now... Good bye."
There is something satisfying in being the one to close the vault on his older brother and thus the core of this quirk's very heart. In contrast to All for One this quirk was different, he wishes he could understand it. Pick out every detail and it was possible his brother could figure it out but it was too risky.
His brother was too stubborn. Refusing to bend fearing the unknown and the idea of being vulnerable but as the realm relaxed after its transition it felt calm. And for a moment he wondered...
If his brother, this vestige of Hisashi, felt safe for once just being hidden away from the world?
He guesses he will have to figure out the quirk alone and keep the presence of his brother as it core a secret.
He wonders what Hisashi is doing. But maybe it's better he doesn't know, already sure his brother is losing who he is the longer they are apart.
He can't waver now.
--------------------
"My lord, you need to rest," it was All for One's bodyguard at his side after a tremulous encounter with some rebels. None had the exact information they needed but in a sense it was a good thing as it was terrible.
The rebel that kidnapped Yoichi either didn't know he was his brother or had some misplaced kindness to not expose him. But it was frustrating knowing right now he had been fruitlessly working with those he despised. The government was yapping away at the public of how everything was in order.
Already trying to take their chance with this truce to try and push their own agenda unaware how it will only leave more room to exploit. His brother is just currently the priority.
"I'll rest when my brother is returned. I'm no stranger to long shifts," he finally answered with the flick of his wrist as if to shoo the other away. Not about to hear some spiel about how doesn't need his brother as Ujiko learned to shut his mouth didn't need the loyal bodyguard also pestering.
"My Lord," the man started as if to protest and Hisashi shoots a glare. This was enough to make the man shut up instantly. He can be replaced very easily so the audacity of him to question him at a time like this.
"Machia do you have any family?" He questioned staring intently at the man who had been over stepping his boundaries. Guessing should try to correct him before searching for a new one.
"No sir," he answers. Well that explains why this man was baffled by his insistence on regaining his little brother. So he should enlighten him.
"Families are messy. Frusterating, some are better to be cut off and left to burn," Hisashi speaks almost whimsically as he looks at the hole in his hands that marked him as a freak. "But some families, they will stick with you through thick and thin. Those that will hold onto their family could help them prosper and survive but I noticed in my comic books in contrast despite being 'good' heroes are always forced to sacrifice their family."
The wheels turned in the others head looking baffled clearly trying to understand what is being said as Hisashi stands up from his throne. The small humming noise he can feel is what tells him that his brother is alive.
"I abhorred that idea to my very core. What is the point of praise if it only from strangers people who don't truly know me. I'm selfish and refuse to give up the one family I have who does. Only he understands me," he speaks as he clenches his fist. As he continued his speech to the only ear that will listen to him, "I would destroy this whole damn country for him because I raised him since he was young. I have always protected him in this damned world and this organization was made to keep him safe. Do you understand, Machia? That you are asking me to get rid of the very reason for my existence?"
There was a fire in the man's voice with passion that never sees outside of moments dealing with his brother. In this moment Machia realizes that the other won't stop what he is doing but in a sense...
He wished he would look at him like the way he talked about his brother. Fire and life in his voice with determination to make it a reality already planning the how.
"I understand my lord. I'm so sorry for questioning you," his guard speaks bowing his head in repentance for his bluntness. Hisashi looks him over a bit and decides that maybe he won't replace him as he realizes the other could be an asset if he does more.
"Good... I think I just thought of a quirk I can give you besides your natural endurance," Hisashi muses with an almost cruel smile as he walks toward the man his hand glowing slightly as the bodyguard straightened up. "Would you accept my gift?"
Machia didn't say no even when it caused him agony it was only fair he accepted it after questioning him.
And Hisashi has to admit, loading off that dog quirk was for the best. It suited Machia well to sniff out the base, he wonders how much more he will need before he finds these rats. As Machia crumbles he returns to his throne to sit watching the scene as his mind wanders to his brother.
Where are you Yoichi? The longer you're away the more atrocities to these little rebels I will commit. You're alive I can feel you're alive, can you feel me in return?
I'll find you. And when I do I'll make sure to murder everyone around you in the worst way possible for daring to leave me. For making me go to such lengths to find you as you pretend to play hero.
Then you won't make that mistake again now will you, Yoichi?
He will reject as many chances to stop as it takes, until he has his brother safe in his arms. He has already done enough what is one more sin? One more nail on his coffin that has been decided for him since his birth?
His little brother can continue to play these games but eventually it will come to an end. Then he will understand.
He is the only thing he needs.

Short Reflection: Kaiji Ultimate Survivor
It’s interesting getting into Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor after having seen Akagi first. I’m guessing most anime fans just watch Kaiji on its own, and only some of them go back to Akagi afterwards to see how the author started developing all these ideas. It is, after all, the more complete and well-developed work, and unlike its predecessor, the adaptation doesn’t stop dead right in the middle of a match that would take literally over a decade longer to even finish in its source material (seriously though I’m still not over that jesus christ). So Akagi can end up feeling like an inessential vestige of its time that only true completionists need bother checking out. But as one of very few people who did watch Akagi first, the biggest enjoyment I got out of Kaiji was metatextual. More than the drama of the story itself, it was the experience of watching original author Noboyuki Fukumoto come into his own, developing the ideas he began exploring with Akagi and fleshing them out into fully realized forms, that made this show so rewarding for me.
Obviously, there are a lot of superficial similarities between the two. They’re both primarily centered around high-stakes gambling where participants risk everything in complex, psychological games of strategy, heavily trafficked by underworld crime bosses and the assorted scum of the earth. Not to mention Fukumoto’s incredibly distinct angular drawing style and director Yuuzou Satou working with studio Madhouse to bring both adaptations to like. But beyond those similarities, the cores of these shows, and what they’re trying to accomplish, are drastically different. Akagi is, at heart, a show about the game of mahjong itself, and its appeal comes from watching the mechanics of that game play out in as many possible permutations as it can dream up. That appeal still holds true for Kaiji, but this show’s primary focus isn’t on the technical nuts and bolts of its various complicated gambles. No, Kaiji is all about the people caught up in those games. The mechanics and strategy aren’t an end unto themselves; they’re a means by which to explore the psychology of those who facilitate and participate in them. It’s a story about what people will do, who they’ll become, when pushed to the limit with no hope of backing out.
That change in focus is best exemplified by the differences between the series’ two protagonists. Akagi is basically an untouchable god-child, someone who will always find the right way forward to utterly crush his opponents for no deeper reason than the thrill of the game itself. Hence why his namesake show is also all about exploring the game itself and very light on seriously examining the human element. Akagi the show can’t exactly build compelling human drama around Akagi the character because that character is built to be a gambling machine above all else, an object of allure rather than a mirror we can see our own fallibility in. Kaiji, on the other hand, is nothing but fallible. He’s a miserable, imperfect person barely scraping by at the bottom of society’s ladder, someone who’s made countless mistakes before the story even begins and proceeds to make many more mistakes over the course of his journey. He gets involved with the gambling underworld not as a legendary invader seeking to test himself like Akagi, but as just one lousy schmuck among many who made dumb choices and wracked up debts they couldn’t pay off. And as it turns out, when the person getting swept up in Deathmatch Poker is just some below-average dude and not an all-seeing wunderkind, the struggle to make it out in one piece gets a hell of a lot more complicated.
In other words, Kaiji’s fight to escape the gambling underworld has something that Akagi, as much as I enjoyed it, never even approached: actual human drama. Not just in the knowledge that Kaiji can absolutely fail and suffer serious consequences, but because the stakes of each game are as emotionally perilous as they are physically. Kaiji, and the other imperfect people swept into this nest of vipers with him, are forced to their basest, most honest selves, forced to confront the question of what truly matters to them and how they’d really act when the chips are down. Would they kill someone if it meant saving their own life? Would they betray each other for the chance to get ahead? How much would you be willing to give up- physically, emotionally, spiritually- for the sake of survival? What kind of person could hold onto their sense of justice even when pushed to the breaking point? Because Kaiji and his companions are imperfect people, the fucked-up situations they’re forced to endure test not just their survival skills or sense of psychological strategy, but their very sense of humanity. Who would you be, the show asks, if the fires of hell were bubbling right beneath your feet?
It would be easy for a story asking that question to devolve into cynicism and grimdark, to say that people are fundamentally selfish and cowardly and would turn on each other like rats if given half the chance. But Kaiji’s secret weapon is how thoroughly it rejects that assessment. Yes, people fail in this show and do terrible things to each other, but just as often, it shows someone taking the high road, gazing into the abyss and coming out the other side still believing that humanity has the capacity to be good. Kaiji himself basically spends the entire show sacrificing his increasingly slim escape routes because taking them would mean leaving someone else behind in the dust, and even at his most desperate, his conscience refuses to let him turn his back on those less fortunate than him. It’s a powerful examination of how our desire to do the right thing can be just as fundamental a force as hunger, thirst, or our survival drive. Morality, the show argues, is as essential to humanity as breathing, and it can survive even the hottest, most nihilistic crucibles. It also never forgets to place the true blame at the foot of the rich assholes who built this pressure cooker in the first place, the puffed-up elites who drive the poor and unfortunate to rip each other to shreds for their own amusement while they watch from the safety of their ivory towers. I’ve seen memes that the true antagonist of Kaiji is capitalism, and believe me, they are far more accurate than you might think.
All that said, I don’t think Kaiji’s going to end up as something I truly love. None of the characters are very interesting outside of Kaiji himself and a couple of the villains, and I’ll always find it hard to connect to a show without many characters I truly care about. It’s a very enjoyable show, just not one I can imagine putting on a favorites list anytime soon. But that’s more a matter of personal preference than anything. Bottom line, Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor is a damn good show, and I look forward to seeing how season 2 keeps this incredibly tense roller coaster ride chugging along. Until then, I give season 1 a score of:
6.5/10
But before we get to season 2, I’ve got more gay magitech girls to watch. See you next time for Nanoha A’s!

Sex w/ Kaiji in that dingy little apartment of his before he wins that jackpot (and then gambles a ton of it away...) in Part 2 😋
Starting things off innocently enough, just being a good neighbor who knows he's in a dire financial situation; hey, I know we don't talk much, but...do you want some food? You always make too much, even when you know you only need enough for one person in your apartment.
He's so thankful you think he's gonna start crying right then and there. And he hates owing people if he can help it, so he offers to let you in and share a few beers with you. Uh...right after he "cleans up" a bit (by that he means "kick all the dirty laundry into the closet and hiding as much trash as possible).
A few beers and games of poker later, he's noticing two things: You're really bad at realizing he's cheating at cards, and you're...really pretty. And sweet. And...pretty. It's been a while since he's fucked anything besides his hand, and while he usually fills the void inside him with gambling, a good fuck sounds really good right now.
Proposing a few rounds of strip poker is easy. Pretending to lose enough to leave the two of you partially undressed is easier. At some point you two make eye contact for a little too long, and before he knows it he's got you lying on his table. It smells like cigarettes and cheap beer, and he's incredibly sloppy and desperate the whole time, but God DAMN is it a good night.
He tries to make it clear afterwards that he's not really "boyfriend" material. Boyfriends typical have...you know, money. A direction in life. A lack of overwhelming despair and trauma. And he knows he'd bother you for money all the time and ruin any good thing you two have got. But...if you ever want to drop by, his door's open.
Not literally, of course. He's a pretty jumpy guy and ALWAYS keeps his door locked, looking around and getting nervous any time he sees a man in a suit and sunglasses. And he tells you if anyone comes knocking at your door and asks for him, just say you don't know who Kaiji Itou is. It's a long story.

Higurashi When They Cry - Watanagashi Chapter 2
By the way... remember that rule about how I wasn’t allowed to use roleplay asterisks unless golf was involved? Complete nonsense. I’d already broken it multiple times before I’d even started claiming it existed. Check THIS out:
It turns out there’s a special Toddler-Free portion of school where only people who aren’t Toddlers are in school. How interesting.
Tumblr media
I... I’m pretty sure I just heard the voice actor say “swimming” in English as if THAT was the punchline... this must be the battle between good and evil Higurashi is about... a battle between localizers and puns...
Oh also the teacher with her freakish blue hair and pro[per]noun assaults Mion.
The Toddlers reenter. The Toddlers are ready for Kaiji Joke 15, but Mion says to lay off on the Kaiji Joke Parts for a little bit.
Tumblr media
Hngh... I can’t allow myself to overanalyze every instance of Rena seemingly shifting from first-person to third-person, especially when the voice acting doesn’t even seem to be backing it up (not that I know Japanese)...
Tumblr media
I’m glad the laugh track is built-in now?
Tumblr media
that’d be funny if true :)
Tumblr media
Oh, got it. Keiichi is a rich person... no wait, that doesn’t work, because Rena is OBVIOUSLY rice, which would make the Toddlers Zoros, but... Zoro beats rice beats rich people, not rich people beat rice beats Zoro!!! But the Toddlers obviously aren’t rich people, so... I’m kinda stuck here...
That is... unless... Higurashi is a world where the exact inverse of One Piece’s laws apply. This was already foreshadowed by Rena gaining Rena Points instead of Sanji losing Sanji Points, but now this bizarro-world version of the weapon triangle has confirmed it.
Cool, Keiichi is a rich person, who beats Rena who is rice, who beats the Toddlers who are Zoros, because Higurashi is opposite world. Now I can move on with my life.
Tumblr media
Could it be... Mion is this world’s Prophesied Trinity God...? But, in this world... a God is a Devil...
Oh, wait. There IS going to be a Kaiji Joke Part 15 soon. It’s just that the sequel to Kaiji Joke Part 14 won’t be anytime soon. Jeepers, Mion really had me going for a second there...
Also young girls can read blue text, but that’s been well established by this point, so how about the writing stops wasting time?
Kaiji Joke Part 15 is a go!!! It’s, uh... “Sympathy”. I have no idea what that is.
Oh, they’re playing the game where you have to say the boringest possible member of a broad category or everyone points at you and calls you weird. Well, that’s great and all, but I still have no idea what “Sympathy” is.
But seriously, Kermit is THE Muppet, right? Like... “Muppet” is a bit too easy of a category because you can literally just write “Kermit”, no? ...Sorry, I got a bit heated there. This game... this accursed game...
Mion doesn’t say “Muppets” she says “Shaved Ice”.
Tumblr media
Keiichi you dipshit. The name of the game is “say the thing that’s bland”, not “say the thing that’s great”. ...Sorry, I got a bit heated there. This game... this accursed game...
Well, Toddler 02 was even dipshitter than Keiichi. Wait... dipshitter than Keiichi...? Is that possible...?
Tumblr media
no you idiot don’t unleash that
Oh, it’s fine, he said something that wasn’t fetishy at all. But then everyone got bored and made it fetishy. That’s really sad...
RENA is the only person who wishes everyone was acting more normal?! RENA is?! Well... “Respect,” I guess. Rena has earned a coupon for one free fist bump from me. She should use it wisely...
Eurgh even when she’s not gigantic I freaking hate it so bad when Toddler 01 puts her fists in front of her face. Stop doing that. I hate fists!!! I hate faces!!!
Tumblr media
be fucking nice
Is Toddler 02 going to staunchly refuse to be a normie and get zero points. Is that the running subjoke of this Kaiji Joke Part. Also
Tumblr media
Since when is NOT showing your answer ALLOWED??? Come now. Come on now. Being a protagonist doesn’t get you special privileges. Stop being a little twerp and just behave in a normal fashion. An ACTUAL normal fashion, not the normal fashion of behavior you use to avoid getting murdered.
Tumblr media
I still don’t know what “Sympathy” is, but I hope Keiichi dies faster this time than he did last time.
Tumblr media
What the fuck is your damage, Keiichi? YOU’RE NOT SPECIAL. JUST PLAY THE GAME NONCHALANTLY.
Now I see why he sucked so hard at not getting murdered I mean being normal I mean being so normal it prevented him from being murdered.
Oh, Keiichi is officially doing worse than Toddler 02. Fucker thinks he’s special when he’s not even doing as good as Toddler 02...
Keiichi and Rena switch genders for some odd reason. Well, those two can do what they want, I don’t really care...
Tumblr media
Without WHAT forced explanation?! The voice acting went away during Keiichi’s entire rant! What are you talking about, Mion?!
Tumblr media
What the hell are you talking about... don’t do old people dirty like that... I used to think you were cool, Mion...
Bah! Humbug! The joke yet again is that Keiichi is suffering! Stale and predictable!!! Get better jokes, Ryukishi! Subvert your own patterns and surprise the audience! Do it NOW!!!
Tumblr media
As opposed to the TERRORS of wearing girl’s NUDITY in front of INANIMATE CARDBOARD CUTOUTS.
...Oh, sorry. My original intention was to make fun of the word “actual” being in that line, but after typing the words “As opposed to” I blacked out and apparently got a little carried away.
Tumblr media
Ah, that’s why Keiichi and Rena swapped genders. It was foreshadowing. I’ll be keeping an eye out for when Rena becomes her own ideal man... presumably it’ll be way less stupid than this entire scene.
Tumblr media
Ah, in that case this next scene will be an important test. If Keiichi possesses the power to activate Ultra Turbo Mode, then he truly is cute...
Hmm... well the scene was very uneventful to the point of being quite vague about Keiichi’s power level, but... he might be cute... maybe...
Tumblr media
...Pardon? I know I should be analyzing the text for clues but what the hell kind of clue is this.
Oh or I guess maybe it’s an incest joke???
Keiichi and his dad are getting an EXTENDED MEAL SCENE, just like Keiichi had with Ooishi last time... that means Keiichi’s dad is important, just like Ooishi! That means Keiichi’s dad is evil, just like Ooishi! I knew it from the start!!!
Tumblr media
Wait so I was joking but is this actually the same restaurant Ooishi went to. Scary... I don’t like it! :(
Tumblr media
Are no male characters in Higurashi good and pure? Keiichi himself, Keiichi’s dad, Ooishi, Toddler 03, Toddler 04... all utter scum. I don’t think I missed any male Higurashi characters. No... I DIDN’T miss any male Higurashi characters. And that’s a promise!
Hmm... actually... are there any male UMINEKO characters who are good and pure?
Hmm...
There’s.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
.............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
the guy whose favorite song was Monochrome clock from Umineko. Perfect boy. Excellent taste in music. Guy Whose Favorite Song Is Monochrome Clock did nothing wrong.
Heh... I bet you thought I would come up empty, didn’t you? Fool... don’t underestimate me!!!
Tumblr media
That’s not an equivalent situation, idiot. An equivalent situation would be “I never hit my own father”. For your foolishness, I sentence you to eternity in Hell. Wait never mind I sentence you to eternity in Heaven. If Mion is the devil then Mion is in Hell therefore Heaven is worse.
Tumblr media
“What a complete loser my father is. What a reprehensible trait I don’t endorse. How disgusting and distressing his personality is, to me, a person who is better than him in a meaningful way.”
Anyway. Keiichi finally notices that the waitress has a character sprite and green hair, and decides to enter Maximized Cruelty Mode.
Tumblr media
disco elysium be like
Tumblr media
Keiichi dies of blood loss and gets replaced with a dog until I temporarily get amnesia and start calling the dog Keiichi, like what happened in my Nana posts.
Tumblr media
This is just like in the first arc when a waitress said “I’m not an evil person” and Keiichi said “...Wha? I was taken aback at the evil person’s confusing words.”
Well the first arc didn’t have a waitress in it, but IF IT DID, that’s what would have happened.
Tumblr media
Wait, OLDER sister??? You’re EIGHT and you have a JOB???
Tumblr media
Oh, like Umineko.
Tumblr media
what’s keiichi’s dad’s DEAL!!! why doesn’t HE get blue hair and a proper noun!!! I already know Keiichi’s dad is the real most important character, you can stop pretending otherwise, alright? Show me his CHARACTER SPRITE. Show me his HAIR COLOR.
Meanwhile, in Side Story Land...
Oh, right. “Younger twin”. So Shion’s not eight. That should have been obvious, probably. Anyway, Keiichi has manipulated Toddler 01 and Toddler 02 into getting into a debate about the existence of Shion, I guess.
Tumblr media
if that’s neither significant nor brushed aside i will be BAFFLED
...By which I mean “both” is what’s obviously going to happen.
Tumblr media
“Uncharacteristically”? Keiichi you FOOL. You IDIOT. Mion gets embarrassed ALL THE TIME. Wait, you’re literally the one who thinks she and Shion are definitely the same person, you REALLY REALLY shouldn’t be using the word “uncharacteristically” here. I’ll kill you. I’ll kill you, Keiichi!!!
Tumblr media
Wow... a sentence perfectly crafted to maximize its own hellishness!
Man... Higurashi really brings out the beast in me in these posts, huh? I feel like in my prior Soul Eater NOT! and Nana posts and my current One Piece posts, I trend towards respecting the characters as people and gently caressing the creators and exceeding a minimum level of pleasantness and all that good stuff, and my vitriol and negativity are finely targeted solely at that which I have chosen to find distasteful.
With Higurashi my cruelty enters into Spray and Pray Mode and I start dropkicking arbitrarily chosen characters and continuing to kick them until they’re dead.
Or maybe I’m literally just talking nonsense. When I started making Nana posts I was regularly beating myself up over how tiny they are, but having recently reread through my entire blog... the Soul Eater NOT! posts which preceded my Nana posts were also quite tiny.

hi i am once again thinking about how off the walls bonkers it is that Animal World (2018) is a movie that exists and that i watched it when i did and i looked up the trailer for it and. wow this is so misleading its so fucking funny
youtube
like if you watch this. it looks like a weird superhero movie trying to copy the vibe of deadpool and suicide squad. pretty generic if a bit weird, but you'd pretty easily assume that the movie was about a guy who's also a clown who fights monsters, right?
actually no. in the real actual movie the clown thing BARELY comes up and it's not even actually happening. the main character has some extended daydreaming sequences where he pictures himself as a clown who kills monsters. he works as a clown irl for like 5 minutes in the start of the movie and then after the first act the whole clown thing isn't even brought up for most of the movie
do you want to know what the movie is ACTUALLY about??? it's in reality a loose adaptation of the Japanese manga Kaiji. The main character gets into an absurd amount of debt, and in order to pay it off agrees to participate in an extremely high stakes rock-paper-scissors tournament where you're pretty much dead if you lose. (if this sounds familiar that's because Kaiji is one of several inspirations to Squid Game)
whats even MORE funny is that this movie for some reason has some of the coolest and most creative uses of CGI i have ever seen in a movie to date. its fucking bonkers. and the vast majority of it means literally nothing it'll be like a transition shot or a dream sequence that's produced so goddamn well that it makes you want to explode. and like literally none of it is necessary theyre literally just playing rock paper scissors

part 2 !!! with talk of shitty old fandoms i was in so cw cringe for that (no offense intended). i talk about better stuff after the first 3 paragraphs though. mostly one big ramble for fun
i remember when i was huge into danganronpa i had a new wife every month or so it was kinda funny. i guess thats what kept me in the fandom for so long
umm..... kazuichi will always be my number one fave character from dr evn if he contributed jack shit. i love that he's a sad weirdo with a big stupid crush on a woman way out of his league. korekiyo (minus the inc3st shit), gonta and twogami are fairly high up there
when i was really big into bnha my stupid ass was more obsessed w todoroki than the superior choice of Literally Everyone Else (not really but still). when i finally gained sentience and got better taste i was big on iida and shigaraki :o3 i like shigaraki because hes ugly and weird. when i saw how they anime boy-ified him in the recent episodes i was so fucking mad u have no idea.. and umm i like iida because he is autism incarnate and very cute
not an old fandom but jojo!! kinda the same case w dr, i always had a new character i had a crush on. given just how fucking many characters r in jojo its no surprise its the fandom ive been in for the longest.. anyway if i had to choose my absolute faves it would be mista, gyro, kira and mikitaka. but again i love so many of them its crazy
persona 5 :o3 HUGE on yusuke. i still think he's cute, him n futaba are my faves. i've been starting to appreciate ryuji more now though.. other than that i like maruki, the other guy with the long black hair and futaba's dad who's name i just forgot. also i love yosuke from persona 3 but i havent seen much of it
i love basically everyone from guilty gear but faust, axl, testament and slayer hit the hardest. i was so shocked when i found out slayer had an irish accent it was so fucking crazy.. irishman jumpscare..
from the various horror movies ive watched i love brahms heelshire (hellshire? forgot), billy lenz, herbert west (duh), otis driftwood/firefly and umm. whicherver guys i forgot. I haven't watched tcm yet but i am in love with chop top and leatherface ok <3
w/ kaiji ultimate survivor its very easy to pick. def just ichijou and kaiji. the rest im either uninterested in or find them to be too ugly. i did have a brief thing for kazuya though
... i think thats mostly all of the significant fandoms ive been in . THANK U IF U READ ALL OF THIS U R SO AWESOME!! even if u didn't tbf i dont blame u HWYAHA

“Right now, you’re the only reason I’m not letting go.”
Tumblr media
Introduction
Max Soukoku, also known as Ōkami in rap battles, is a young high school student in his final year who seemingly appeared out of nowhere. Strange and often times feral, it’s unknown why a person like him has joined the DRB but if one listens closely, they can hear him constantly muttering a name as he cleans the hatchets he keeps close to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Max is a young man with boyish features and a lean yet muscular build. He’s taller than average with pale-ish skin with a slight tan, he has a noticeable scar on his right cheek which he keeps covered with a bandage. On his head is a mop of dark brown hair that ends at the bottom of his neck and looks like it hasn’t been brushed in months. He has a pair of dark green eyes that look like all the light had been sucked out of them.
Max wears a black hoodie with a green jacket over it, the jacket is left open while the hood of the hoodie is visible over the collar of the jacket. He wears a pair of dark blue jeans with slight rips and tears along with dark brown combat boots. On his ears are rose earrings and helix piercings and on his neck is a black, worn dog collar.

Hypnosis Microphone
Max’s Microphone is a handheld mic with the base looking similar to that of a hatchet, the windscreen looking the same as an ordinary microphone.
His Speaker takes the form of two wolves, one black and one white. Both of their mouths are open to reveal speakers inside their maws and their fangs are visibly seen, foam and saliva is dripping from the black wolf’s mouth and blood is dripping from the white wolf’s mouth, though, the fluids disappear before they hit the ground.
His rap ability, Feral, sends him in a frenzy and allows him to inflict triple the amount of damage on his opponents. However, doing this will deplete him of his energy significantly and may even cause him to pass out if weakened.
Max’s rap centers around the forest and wildlife, comparing everyone to some sort of animal. He also raps about searching for his special person that he lost so long ago and he also goes into vivid detail about eviscerating and tearing apart his victims opponents. Both figuratively and literally.
Personality
At first glance, Max comes off as a reserved and reclusive guy, he barely speaks and when he does, it’s in short answers and sentences. He’s not shy, not in the slightest and people who mess with him quickly find that out after a trip to the ER. It’s obvious that he’s not used to people due to having little to no contact with the outside world for the better part of his life but with the help of Ren and Kaiji, he’s finding it a bit easier to integrate into society. There’s still quite a few bumps in the road however. Max is observant and perceptive, he’s smarter than he looks and he uses that to his advantage, he can thank Kaiji for that.
Among people he trusts and feels comfortable around, there’s a shift in Max, he becomes more talkative and comfortable with himself and his surroundings but is still on his guard. He gets a bit playful and actually acts like his age somewhat, his personality a bit similar to that of a dog. He’s immensely loyal to those he knows he can trusts and will not hesitate to hurt or eliminate those he considers a threat to them or himself, he’s an excellent fighter and an even more efficient killer.
A few people can probably tell but only Ren and Kaiji know just how possessive Max is, he’s very territorial and does not like to share what or who is his, people who try are lucky to escape with their lives, not that they ever live to tell the tale. He goes borderline feral and out of control whenever he feels the object of his…affections? is slowly slipping away from him and both Ren and Kaiji can barely calm him down. There were a few cases where he had to be physically restrained.
Background
Coming Soon.
Trivia
Max is an assassin…or serial killer, same difference that works for an organization called “The Commission”, he’s one of three proxies to the leader of said organization.
Max was born with congenital insensitivity to pain, meaning ever since he was born, he could never feel any pain inflicted onto him.
He was born in Japan but spent a few years in America, where and doing what is unknown but Max called it the “turning point” in his life.
Max changed his last name because he didn’t want any relation to his father.
Max suffers from claustrophobia due to the trauma from his childhood.
Max had a stray dog he found when he was little and kept it as a pet for a while, unfortunately his father found out and that was the last Max saw of him.
Max lives in the woods but he often sleeps over at Ren’s place, his siblings love him.
Max has a pet wolf named Hunter
Max is obsessively infatuated with Sumire Shinomiya of Shinagawa, he claims to have met her before when they were really young. It was “love at first sight” as he said.

He hurt his butt and the trash didn't cushion it one bit! I was actually pretty okay with how this sequence turned out, since i'd hemmed and hawwed about how to tackle it for so long. This would only be my second attempt at choreographing any fight ever, the first of course being the first time I tried drawing this comic. The "za za za" is my own version of "chiri chiri", "zawa zawa" or "dododo" you see in Kaiji and jjba respectively, as I am a fan of ominous sound effects and the aesthetic flavor the text gives fitting into the page. The specific way it was lettered was derived from a font, which I eventually shaped and redrew into it's own thing. You'll be surprised to hear that graphic design is in fact not my passion, however the lettering design for sound effects is something i've worked pretty hard to refine since they're so important for the overall appeal of each page. Not being clear about how they should be designed or fit in was a damn bug up my ass. When I first started, I'd decided I wouldn't be lettering the sfx in japanese and made other decisions based solely on the fact that doing so wasn't accepted at the time some 8 or 9 odd years back. Naturally that created new circles to square. For one I am not a fan of conventional english sound effect onomatopoeia, so it was noticibly awkward to readers to see japanese sound effects in plain english. As you can see though, I didn't really change that totally. What I did change was my perspective. I picked up Hayashida Q's version of Maken X, titled Maken X: Another. I didn't finish it, however the translated version of the manga tackled the problem of sound effects translation in a very interesting way. It was in english, and off and on it was literal or written in english onomatopoeia tastefully. But the most important part was that the lettering for the sfx retained the original japanese character styling even in spite of that, and the sound effects in themselves seemed more akin to symbols complimenting the art than even their original purpose as sounds. To me, this idea was revolutionary. I also wasn't familiar with it as what I had seen from english translators was conventional, western styled sound effects edited over the original ones (black lagoon is a good example of this) Rarely do these solutions ever appear with such a good result, since it was so much of a burden. It makes me pretty happy all around.

Among the fans of the reverse trial, there were people who raised the theory that Masashi Yahari's biological mother was a bikini.
While drawing a gender reversal multiverse, he became bigger and hairier.
I drew Masae's single father.
The name of the male body painting is Monk Kata (可妥=true peace).
It is named after the garter belt.
There are also fans who suggest that Masashi Yahari's father is Kaiji Kanto, who was the chief of police in the original game.
Masae's mother, Kanto Umi (literally the Japanese word for sea…), who was a virgin female police officer in Ells World.
Masae's father Kata, who was a young boy, lived in a temple under the same roof, and when Masae was born,
Her graces completely abandon her own daughter as she seeks more power as a police officer.
Leaving all her upbringing and attention to her birth father,
It is a setting that she did not allow Masae's heart to be filled.
The Hazard line of the world in the picture above is called Shiogikuji
As a name, it is located in a flatland hillside religious site with good access to city people.
Masae Yahari becomes late adolescence and until Hitori Gurashi to her daughter's stupid father Kata
It is a space where I grew up receiving nurture based on consideration and protection.
As a street in the neighborhood next to the Ayasato main street, Masae's friends, Ryuka, Reika, Mahiro, and Akio,
A character who was a good priest and a kind father to a friend.
Interactions with other visitors and members of the temple
Strictly and sternly regarding matters concerning her grace, which she only received and gave birth to her own seed and then left.
Even though Masae was controlled.
Masae grew up not knowing the existence of her mother, who was indifferent to her as she gave birth to and abandoned her.
She lived her life without knowing that she was a mother.
Before she met Ryuka, she was coldly ignored and rejected by her Umi, who secretly visited her.
It is a setting that she will never again wear the clothes she wore every day like a little nun monk.
