motherfucker, in brazil, syllabic separation is something i learned very young in school. I've been studying english since i was 5, and all of my english teachers straight up said they don't teach syllabic separation in english because it's too damn difficult to understand. Like every time we wrote an essay and someone had a long word and asked the teacher how to separate it, the teachr would say " just go to the next line"

you can have the word "had" repeated FOUR TIMES in one sentence and it still makes sense. I still frequently struggle with spelling mistakes while writing in english (EVEN WHEN I WRITE IN ENGLISH MORE THAN I DO IN MY NATIVE LANGUAGE)
