Nooooo! Baby Nari! 😭 We request a heartfelt reunion of the whole family after the Endgame in the King Thor AU!
Nari only got snapped! He comes back just fine, I promise! ^_^;
No, I get it, it hurts to watch. Here's something to heal that.
Thank you for the ask!
---
I'm hoping if you play this back... it's in celebration. I hope families are reunited. I hope we get it back, in somewhat like a normal version of the planet has been restored, if there ever was such a thing.
God, what a world.
The Asgardians stepped out of the Bifrost onto the grass in front of the Great Hall. Thor blinked, looking out over the small fishing village that was now the Kingdom of Asgard.
“We lost so many,” he muttered.
“But many have returned,” Sigyn said. “Our king has returned.”
“Yes, I’m looking forward to not being that anymore,” Loki said.
Angrboða was coming up the hill with Sigyn and Loki’s six-year-old daughter Váli. Váli was holding the hand of a dark-haired toddler.
“Nari..?” Sigyn breathed.
She rushed down the hill and fell to her knees, embracing her children. Loki was right behind her, looking Nari over for injury.
“He is perfectly well,” Angrboða said, smiling.
Loki pulled Nari close, tears falling freely. Nari squirmed a little but hugged his father.
“Is Papa okay?” Váli asked Sigyn.
Sigyn smiled, trying not to cry herself. “Yes, he’s just very happy.”
Thor slowly stepped forward. “Is that Váli?”
Váli took a step back. Sigyn took her daughter’s hand.
“It’s okay,” Sigyn said. “This is your Uncle Thor. You were very young when he left, you might not remember him.”
Thor knelt down.
“I suppose you’ve been crown princess for the past few years,” he said.
She nodded.
“Well, I’m sure you’ve been doing a very good job,” Thor said.
“I’m six,” Váli said.
Sigyn stifled a laugh.
Nari eventually got free from his father’s grip and toddled over to Sigyn. She picked him up in her arms and held him gently. He nestled into her shoulder and gave as big a sigh as his three-year-old body could give.
“I thought he was bigger than me,” Váli said.
Sigyn and Loki exchanged a look.
“It’s… complicated,” Sigyn said. “But your brother was gone for a while and he’s back now, but he’s back the way he was before, as opposed to how he should be now.”
“Oh,” Váli said. “Okay.”
Loki and Thor stood, stepping away for a moment.
“I’m sorry about Stark,” Thor said.
Loki nodded. “Thank you. It will take a few days to reinstall you on the throne, there should be a ceremony of some sort, and that will take planning.”
Thor smiled. “The people do love a ceremony.”
“I am truly glad that you are with us again,” Loki said. “And I am eager to return your kingdom to you, but…”
He looked back to Sigyn and the children.
“We need to go away for a while,” Loki said. “Not just to help you transition back into the role, but for us, for my family. Sigyn and I haven’t been the parents that we’ve wanted to be when we had our children and for legitimate, horrible, but necessary reason. But now we need to make up for lost time, and I need to… have some time with my family.”
“Of course,” Thor said. “I understand. But I am your family too, remember.”
Loki laughed softly.
“I’ve missed you,” Loki said. “More than I think I realized. We won’t be gone long, I promise.”
Thor pulled his brother into a hug. Loki hugged him back.
“Welcome home, brother,” Loki said.

42. "Pompeii", by Bastille
“Where do we begin, The rubble or our sins?”
Some King Thor AU for this prompt, returning to the people of Asgard after the Battle of Wakanda.
Content Warning: Mention of child death.
Thank you for the ask!
---
Sigyn and Loki stood on top of the bluff, in front of a partially built meeting hall, and looked out over the near-square mile of tents, lean-tos, and other makeshift shelters that were scattered on the field. Sigyn covered her mouth, tears in her eyes.
“This is horrible,” she said.
“This is what is,” Loki said. “Asgard is gone. We must make do with what we have.”
“What we have isn’t much,” she said. “And we’ve lost so many.”
Loki nodded, taking Sigyn’s hand.
“You have avenged them, darling,” he said. “And they will be there to greet us when we enter Valhalla.”
Sigyn took a deep breath, holding back her tears.
Fandral was the first to notice that they were there. He approached them quickly and kept them from walking down the hill.
“I can’t let you down there,” he said.
“What do you mean?” Loki asked.
“I need to talk with you first,” Fandral said. “We all do.”
Sigyn looked over at the meeting hall.
“We’ll be in there,” she said.
Fandral nodded. “I am… so relieved to see the two of you.”
Loki smiled. “You weren’t getting rid of me that easily.”
Fandral almost laughed, but there was too much grief weighing on him.
Sigyn and Loki went into the meeting hall and the Warriors Three and Brunnhilde joined them.
“Did we lose Sif?” Loki asked.
“She’s with Vali,” Brunnhilde said.
Loki and Sigyn exchanged a look.
“Just Vali?” Sigyn said, her heart dropping.
The other four looked away. Sigyn covered her mouth and sobbed. Loki put a gentle hand on her back.
“I was with them,” Fandral said. “Watching them, I mean. And he just…”
“Vanished,” Loki said.
“Do we even want to ask where Thor is?” Hogun said.
Loki shook his head. Sigyn sobbed again.
“Loki…”
He put his arms around her, and she collapsed into his shoulder.
“By right of succession, you are king, Loki,” Hogun said. “That is why—”
“Do we really have to have this conversation right now?” he asked, feeling his own eyes start to burn.
“We’ve been doing what we can this past month, but your people need a leader,” Brunnhilde said.
Sigyn sniffed, wiping her face even though the tears weren’t stopping. “She’s right. Go find Sif and our daughter, bring them here.”
“Of course,” Brunnhilde said.
Loki looked to Fandral, who still couldn’t meet their gaze.
“It wasn’t your fault,” Loki said. “There was nothing that could have been done to save him. Even with my magic, I couldn't…”
“I think it’s going to take some time to believe that, my friend,” he said. “And he wasn’t the only one.”
“Who else?” Loki asked.
“Skaði,” Volstagg said. “Iðunn and Brugi. Týr. Nana.”
“And Father,” Fandral said.
Loki sighed. “My condolences. Your brother?”
“Angrboða was able to get a message out to Vanaheim,” Hogun said. “My mother and Theoric are still with us.”
Sigyn sniffed. “Thank the Norns.”
“I’ll need an assessment of the whole of the Nine Realms,” Loki said. “Or, well. Eight Realms, I suppose now. Darling?”
Sigyn nodded. “I will serve my king as asked.”
“I wish I didn’t have to ask,” Loki said. “Thank you.”
Brunnhilde returned with Lady Sif, who carried Vali in her arms. All of one-and-a-half, Vali lit up when she saw her parents.
“Mama!” she cried, reaching for Sigyn.
Sigyn swept over to her daughter, taking her into her arms and holding her tight. Loki went over and kissed Vali’s head.
Sigyn looked up at Loki. “What now?”
He looked at the two of them, the last of his family, and kissed them again.
“I have to be king now,” Loki said. “And that’s going to change so much. But what won’t change is that I love you, and you will always be the most important thing— both of you. But I need… This is more than falling. I am about to jump. I need you to jump with me.”
“Of course, my heart,” Sigyn said. “Everything with you, always. I knew what you were when I married you. I had never hoped for this, but I knew what might become. I am Goddess of Fidelity. How could I leave for such a paltry thing as this?”
Loki sighed in relief and Sigyn kissed him.
“We must rebuild first,” she said.
“Right, yes,” Loki said. “What is this place, and how close are we to completion?”
“Shouldn’t be much longer,” Volstagg said. “Two weeks for the hall itself, and then another six months for the royal chambers. The people thought that you and Thor would want… well…”
“A palace?” Sigyn scoffed. “In such a time as this, they concerned themselves with splendor?”
Loki took a moment to recalibrate what his response was going to be. In that time, Sigyn handed him their daughter and stepped forward.
“As soon as the hall is completed, have everyone move inside,” she said. “We will not build a palace while our people sleep in tents. We will start building houses immediately.”
Lady Sif turned to Loki.
“Is that what our king orders?” she asked.
Loki looked from her to his daughter, and back.
“Oh, yes, whatever Sigyn says,” he said.
Lady Sif nodded. She, Brunnhilde, and Volstagg left the hall. Fandral raised an eyebrow and looked to Loki.
“‘Whatever Sigyn says?’” he repeated.
“Yes, yes, I’ll work on that,” Loki said.
“I didn’t mind,” Sigyn said.
“The two of you might want to have a discussion about which of you will be king,” Hogun said.
“I have no claim to the throne,” Sigyn said. “I will be more subtle in the future.”
“Of course, your majesty,” Fandral said.
The two left as well and Loki handed Vali off to Sigyn.
“We can do this,” Sigyn said. “Odin always said you were born to be a king.”
Sigyn’s voice broke as she said it and she started to cry again. Loki embraced her, careful not to lean too hard on Vali. Sigyn’s head rested on his shoulder. He kissed the top of her head.
“I know,” he breathed. “I know.”

“ i can't believe this, we're going to be parents! “
Here we are in the King Thor AU, and one of the funny things about the MCU timeline is that it doesn't necessarily line up with the release timeline. For example, while Captain America: The Winter Soldier was released in April of 2014, it's actually set in January of 2014, but Thor: The Dark World was both released and set in November of 2013.
Why this would be relevant to this prompt might not be immediately obvious.
Thank you for the ask!

Loki stepped into his room for the first time in two months. Sigyn was there, sitting in the window bench, looking out at Asgard. Her dress flowed down over her body like curtains, and moved in the slight breeze. Loki sat down across from her.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “For everything.”
She didn’t look at him.
“Mother is gone,” Loki said. “And that’s not your fault and I never should have said that.”
Sigyn closed her eyes.
“I’ve… had some moments recently where I’ve had to reflect on what I’ve done, on who I have become,” Loki said. “If I’m turning into the monster that everyone thinks is the only thing I can be. Natasha… suggested, that if that were the case, Captain Rogers would not trust me as much as he does. And I realized that you wouldn’t either. If you were to fall, I would be there to catch you, and you’ve known that your whole life.”
Sigyn smiled, but still didn’t meet Loki’s gaze.
“But it goes both ways,” Loki said. “I’m falling, Sigyn. I have been for years now. Please, I need…”
The words caught in his throat as he felt his eyes burn.
“I need you to save me from myself,” Loki said.
At that, Sigyn looked at him.
“You’ve already done it, my heart,” she said. “You came home.”
She reached forward and he kissed her, pulling her close.
“I’ll never let go again,” he breathed. “I promise.”
She smiled against his skin. When they pulled back, he brushed her hair from her eyes.
“Is there still a wedding?” he asked.
“Of course,” she said. “I love you, Loki, and I want to spend the rest of my life at your side. The preparations have been made, we just need to let everyone know that it’s happening.”
Loki gave her a confused look.
“Why the haste?” Loki asked. “I know you want a winter wedding, but—”
“Other considerations have to be taken into account,” she said.
Loki blinked, still confused. Sigyn took his hand and placed it against her stomach. He gasped.
“Really?”
She nodded. He laughed and kissed her again.
“I can't believe this,” he said. “We're going to be parents!”
“Yes,” she said, beaming. “We’re not at the point yet where we can determine if it’s a boy or a girl, but if we wait too long, it will start to show.”
“Oh, yes, of course,” Loki said. “And considering my absence…”
“We wouldn’t want accusations of impropriety,” Sigyn said.
“Of course,” Loki repeated. “That being said—”
Sigyn gently shoved Loki, who laughed. She pulled him in for a kiss.
“How could I ever doubt my Goddess of Fidelity?” he whispered.

The way that you described Nari as "baby" is just adorable. I can just imagine people seeing him as the soft and calm sibling while Vali is the mischievous one. Basically a mini Loki and Sigyn but with eye colors and personalities swapped.
I mean, that's pretty much exactly it-- with the caveat that both Nari and Vali have Loki's eyes because their natural eye color is Jotun red. I feel like I've talked about this before, but Nari is absolutely Sigyn's son and Vali is 100% Loki's daughter. It's mostly like this because of their origins in the main fic, which is what all of this is based off of, after all. Vali is not wholly an "original" character, she's Sylvie, and Sylvie in the MCU canon is supposed to be a Loki. Nari, on the other hand, was created more or less whole cloth, and was literally made to be a baby. He's the baby that Sigyn has to think about when she goes off and does things with the Avengers, or when she's doing her politicking, or whatever she has to go do. This is what these characters were designed to be.
So, knowing that, when we take these characters into other universes, they need to be recognizable as the characters we know from the fic, while also not having the same baggage. There's a lot of overlap between universes-- the Disaster Averted AU, the King Thor AU, the Dragon Born AU, the Friends with Benefits AU, and the Father of Death AU in particular have major points where they're different, but there are also large swaths of time that are commonalities. Basically, there are the AUs where Loki doesn't let the Jotuns into Asgard for whatever reason, and there are the AUs where he does, and that specific point informs how close events happen to the canon of the MCU. On top of that, most of the AUs don't involve the kids at all. But to take these two characters specifically and remove them from their main timeline backstory means we're seeing them kind of like how we saw Jotun Loki in the "What If...?" episode. This is what they'd be like if none of the bad things had happened. Vali-- even though she still has the curse, but without the TVA breathing down her neck-- is a womanizing warrior who's a consummate bachelor. Nari-- without the pressure of being the Crown Prince, and with both of his parents being there his whole life-- is a giant nerd who is a little more cunning than most people give him credit for. But while these are technically "baseline", they definitely clash with the MCU canon and even the main LDGP timeline on the basis of their father not making choices that he made in canon.
But yes, Nari is baby. ^_^
Thank you for the ask!

Can we have Thor just sticking around Loki and Sigyn at the excuse of not wanting to be alone after his supposed break up with Jane? The two entertained him until Loki had enough when Thor interrupted their sexy times. Thank you!
I didn't break up Thor and Jane in my main fic, though we'll see how that decision pans out when Love and Thunder is released. This prompt, meanwhile, is going in the King Thor AU, because being King would definitely make it much harder to date someone who doesn't even live on the same planet as you.
Thank you for the ask!
---
Sigyn stepped onto the Bifrost bridge. Her father smiled at her, but before she could even say hello, an arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her to crash into another body. Loki grinned.
“Caught you,” he said.
“The snake ensnares his prey,” she said. “And I am helpless but to succumb to his venomous bite…”
She pulled him in for a kiss. He kissed back, his hands and arms tight on her body.
“I missed you,” he breathed.
“I can tell,” she said, smiling. “How are the children?”
“Nari’s started reading, and Váli is close to her first steps,” Loki said. “Any luck finding my father?”
She shook her head. “Wherever his wanderings have taken him, they are far from our reach.”
“Your majesty.”
They both turned at the sound of Heimdall’s voice. Thor walked into the guardhouse, grinning broadly.
“And how is my favorite sister-in-law?” he asked, throwing his arms around Sigyn and Loki’s shoulders.
“I’m your only sister-in-law,” Sigyn said.
“I’ve mentioned that,” Loki said.
Sigyn looked to Heimdall.
“Join us for dinner?” she asked.
“Of course,” he said, smiling. “Welcome home, little one.”
Sigyn, Loki, and Thor headed down the bridge towards the palace.
“Thor, is everything all right?” Sigyn asked.
“Of course!” Thor said. “Everything’s great! Why wouldn’t it be?”
“Your father’s missing, you both are still traumatized from your mother’s death and haven’t properly processed it,” Sigyn said. “And also, I spoke with Jane when I was in Midgard.”
Thor slowed down, falling behind the other two. Sigyn and Loki stopped.
“I see,” he said.
“She spoke fondly of you,” Sigyn said. “She bears you no malice.”
“Thank you,” Thor said, starting to walk again. “But I am fine. I am focused on my work, just as she is.”
Sigyn glanced at Loki, who shook his head. They followed Thor down the bridge.
“But, of course, I have more than enough time for my family,” Thor said. “I’m Nari and Váli’s favorite uncle.”
“Again, you are their only uncle,” Loki said.
“I do regret that I am spending so much time away from them,” Sigyn said. “I am grateful for any time you can spare to spend with them.”
“Please don’t encourage him,” Loki muttered.
“Sorry?” Thor said.
“Nothing, Brother,” Loki said. “The children love spending time with their Uncle Thor. Though Nari’s close to figuring out that Thor is king.”
“It was bound to happen,” Sigyn said.
“Actually,” Loki said. “It would be helpful, Thor, if you could watch the children for a few hours once we get back to the palace.”
“What for?” Sigyn asked.
“We should take some time to… discuss things,” Loki said. “Privately.”
“Ah,” Sigyn said. “Right.”
“I’d be more than happy to,” Thor said.
---
Loki shoved Sigyn against the wall. She ran her hand through his hair as he kissed her neck. His hands were firm on her waist as they each vanished layer after layer of clothing. He got to her slip and paused to take the sight of her in.
“You are…” He shook his head, breathless. “More beautiful each time I see you.”
She smiled. “You’re already getting lucky, but please keep going.”
He pulled her towards the bed.
“You have become more radiant than even the gilded spires of the palace,” he said. “I look up in awe at the wonder of you and I can do nothing but fall to my knees.”
He sat her on the edge of the bed, and he knelt in front of her, his hands on her knees.
“Allow me, darling, to sing your praises.”
She smiled. “I doubt that you would get a word in edgewise where you intend on going.”
“Do you doubt my silver tongue?” Loki asked.
“Not in the slightest,” she said.
Loki’s hands moved up her legs. He kissed the inside of her thigh. She gasped at the touch of his lips.
The door to the bedroom opened and Thor walked in.
“Do either of you know what—”
Sigyn jumped, knocking Loki over. Loki’s head hit the floor. He winced, hand on his head. Sigyn conjured a dressing robe and wrapped it around herself.
“Oh,” Thor said. “Am I interrupting?”
“Yes,” Loki snarled, sitting up. “I appreciate that your love life is not going well, but I would appreciate it if you would not let it affect mine.”
Thor blinked. “R-right. Of course. I put Nari and Váli down for their naps, I’ll have the governess look in on them.”
“Thank you,” Sigyn said.
Thor left quickly, not looking either of them in the eye. Sigyn and Loki collapsed on the bed.
“Does this keep happening?” she asked.
“We need to get him a new girlfriend,” Loki said.
“You found the last one,” Sigyn said.
“Right, so it’s your turn,” Loki said.

I thought of something funny for the King Thor AU. Pepper has a girl crush on Sigyn. Sigyn could've noticed it, but she's too focused on how Loki's feeling after the reveal that he is Jotun. Stark is tired of hearing from Pepper about her girl crush so he talked to Loki. As expected, he just teased Stark about it. Then Pepper fell from the stairs, Sigyn caught her, and they accidentally kissed. Thank you!
See, this is exactly the kind of immature, adolescent shenanigans that I would absolutely expect from the God of Mischief rooming with a modern reformed rake. I love it.
Thank you for the ask!
---
Loki was behind the bar in the common area of Avenger’s Tower, looking for something to share with Sigyn on a “stay-in movie date” as she called it. He wasn’t certain of the correct pairing of alcohol with the human food popcorn. Tony came back behind the bar too, looking over his stock.
“You two staying in too?” Tony asked.
“Yes,” Loki said. “Would bourbon work..?”
“What are you watching?” Tony asked.
“Some war film she was recommended on the internet,” Loki said. “Casablanca, I think it was called?”
“You’ll want a whisky for that,” Tony said, grabbing a bottle and handing it to Loki. “So how are things going? You didn’t say why you came back from Asgard, but you seemed pretty rattled.”
“It’s… getting better,” Loki said, putting ice into the glasses. “The shock is wearing off, I suppose. How are you and Miss Potts?”
“We’re great, we’re doing great,” Tony said, taking the bourbon Loki had put down. He pulled a bottle of red vermouth off the shelf. “She’s got a new obsession recently.”
“And what is that?” Loki asked.
“Your girlfriend.”
Loki paused as Tony added some bitters to the poured vermouth.
“Sorry?” Loki said, a smile creeping onto his face.
“Oh, yeah,” Tony said. “I mean, I’d imagine you can see the appeal.”
“Of course,” Loki said.
“Sure, what’s not to like?” Tony said. “I mean, with the amount of time they’re spending together.”
“Sigyn has always had a close relationship with the Lady Sif,” Loki said. “And I’ve never discouraged her from seeking platonic companionship with others.”
“So Sigyn wouldn’t be interested, even if she was available?” Tony asked.
“Oh, I wouldn’t say that,” Loki said. “Miss Potts is absolutely her type when it comes to women.”
Tony blinked and added more bourbon to the drink he was mixing.
“It won’t happen,” Loki said. “There’s a reason she’s call the Goddess of Fidelity.”
“Yeah, that’s not helping,” Tony muttered.
“What, is Miss Potts considering a defection from the pursuit of men?” Loki said.
“Is that what you call it in Asgard?” Tony asked. “Nah, I don’t think so, she’s just… how would you phrase it?”
“Fond?” Loki suggested.
“Yeah,” Tony said. “Very fond.”
Pepper, meanwhile, walked over to the main area where Sigyn was waiting for Loki to come back with the drinks. There was a step down, and with a quick motion from Loki’s hand, Pepper slipped on it and Sigyn jumped up to catch her. Tony blinked, seeing Sigyn hold his girlfriend like a woman on the cover of some bodice ripper. Pepper’s face turned as red as her hair.
“I am so sorry, I’m not usually a klutz,” Pepper said.
“It’s fine,” Sigyn said. “Are you all right?”
With another flick of Loki’s wrist, Sigyn lost her footing and collided with Pepper. They kissed, briefly, unintentionally, and just as quickly jumped away from each other. Pepper turned even redder and Sigyn sneered.
“Loki!”
“That’s my cue,” Loki said, heading out.
“Right,” Tony said.
Before he could escape, Sigyn grabbed Loki by the front of his shirt and dragged him over to the elevator. The last thing Tony and Pepper saw before the door shut was Sigyn slamming Loki against the back wall of the car. Tony walked over with the drinks.
“Scotch or Manhattan?” he asked.
Pepper took the Manhattan, her face still very red.
“They were gonna watch Casablanca,” Tony said. “Be a shame to let the popcorn go to waste.”
“Okay,” Pepper said, her voice very small.
Tony nodded, heading over to the couch.

In the King Thor AU, how would Loki and Sigyn react to the news that the Ancient One is dead?
Interesting thing-- because Loki didn't attack New York and, instead, helped defend Kathmandu from the alien invaders, he never overthrew his father and so the little plot cul-de-sac where Thor goes to Dr. Strange in Ragnarok would never have happened. Strange became a sorcerer between Age of Ultron and Ragnarok, when Sigyn and Loki (in this verse) were mostly off-world, trying to figure out what was going on with the Infinity Stones and Ragnarok and also doing other, more domestic things. In fact, there would be no reason at all for Loki and Sigyn to meet the new Sorcerer Supreme until...
Well...
Thank you for the ask!
---
The Bifrost faded, and Sigyn stumbled on the sidewalk, reaching for someone who was no longer in front of her.
“Father!” she called.
Loki took her arm.
“He’s gone, Sigyn,” he said.
She looked at him, then looked to the sky.
“No,” she said, tears welling in her eyes. “No, Father, bring us back!”
“Sigyn, listen!” Loki said. “We must keep the stone safe. He knows that, we know that. Thanos won’t stop— not now, not ever— until he has all six. Your father has delayed that goal and kept you alive.”
Sigyn pulled away from Loki.
“No,” she said again. “I’m not hearing this.”
“It’s a terrible decision,” Loki said. “But did we not make the same choice with our own children?”
Sigyn closed her eyes. Loki stepped closer, wiping the tears from her face.
“He loved you,” Loki said. “And you will be with him again in the halls of my father, as befit those that die the glorious death.”
She nodded, composing herself.
“Okay,” Sigyn said. “Let’s figure out where we are.”
Loki looked up at the brownstone with the curious window on the top floor. The address was 177A.
“Looks like one of Rhiannon’s safehouses,” Loki said.
“We need to find her,” Sigyn said. “She still has the Eye, that needs to be kept safe as well.”
“Whoever’s here should know where she is,” Loki said, walking up to the door. He knocked.
The door was opened by a tall man who Loki recognized immediately.
“Strange?” Loki said.
“Loki,” Dr. Stephen Strange said. “It’s been a while.”
“Since when were you a sorcerer?” Loki asked.
Sigyn shook her head. “We don’t have time for this.”
“Right,” Loki said.
The two let themselves in, pushing past Strange.
“We need to speak with the Ancient One,” Sigyn said. “This is a matter of planetary security.”
Another man came down the steps.
“Ah, Wong, these are—”
“Loki, Sigyn,” Wong said. “What are you doing here?”
“The planet is in danger,” Sigyn said. “Where is the Sorceress Supreme?”
“Sigyn,” Loki said.
He was looking at a pendant that Strange was wearing. Sigyn noticed it too.
“What are you doing with the Eye of Agamotto?” Sigyn asked.
“Strange is its defender,” Wong said. “As the new Sorcerer Supreme.”
Strange stood up a little straighter, expecting a challenge, but Loki and Sigyn just looked away.
“How long?” Loki asked.
“A few years,” Strange said. “She was killed by servants of Dormammu.”
Sigyn shook her head.
“Too many…” she muttered.
“This is what happens, darling,” Loki said. “We will have time to mourn later.”
“What is threatening the planet?” Wong asked.
“A calamity from Titan,” Loki said. “Goes by the name of Thanos. He’s collecting Infinity Stones.”
“We need to contact the rest of the Avengers,” Sigyn said.
Dr. Strange cringed. “That might not be—”
He was cut off again by the Bifrost slicing through the façade of the building and blasting into the main staircase. When the light subsided, Bruce Banner crawled out of the hole that his entrance made, clutching Hofund.
“He’s coming,” Bruce said. “Thanos is coming.”

34. “Come and make me.”
Thank you for the ask!
---
Sigyn wandered through the gallery. A server offered her a flute of champagne, which she took. She studied the painting in front of her, done by a man named Klimt. A gilded couple in an intimate embrace, the painting seemed unconcerned with the fact that it was being viewed, solely concerned with the world that it was a window into.
“And who is that beautiful woman standing across the room?”
She smiled as Loki’s voice came through her earpiece.
“I’ve no idea who you’re referring to,” Sigyn said.
“Perhaps I should offer her a drink,” Loki said.
“Perhaps she already has one,” Sigyn said.
“Perhaps I can offer her something else, then.”
“Perhaps you could keep your hands to yourself while we’re on the job.”
“Come and make me.”
Outside in the van Melinda May turned to Coulson, who covered his face with his hand.
“So when you said you’d get some help from the Avengers—”
“They’re the only ones who can do what we need,” Coulson said.
“Yes, I’d like to see Stark learn how to shape-shift,” Loki said. “Or even try to lift a rock with magic, honestly.”
“I think he’d give himself an aneurysm,” Sigyn said.
A woman with short, curly hair wearing a flower print dress walked into the room.
“She’s here,” Sigyn said.
“Time turn off your com, darling,” Loki said.
Loki was shifted, ever so slightly, so that he wouldn’t be recognized. He approached the woman in the flower dress.
“Now how could you possibly be here alone?” he asked.
The woman smiled. “I’m meeting someone, actually.”
“I would say you’ve met someone, actually,” Loki said, taking her hand and kissing it.
“Forward,” the woman said. “I really can’t, though.”
“It’s not exactly a large gallery,” Loki said. “I’m sure he can find you. In the meantime, there’s a Monet over there that I cannot in good conscience allow to continue hanging if you were not to grace it with your attention.”
Loki led the woman towards the paining. Sigyn hid a smile sipping her champagne. Coulson rolled his eyes.
“Please tell me he’s not always like this,” May said.
“There are times for both subtle and unsubtle methods,” Sigyn said. “And then there are times for grabbing a woman by the waist and pressing her against the wall for a good—”
“Sig,” Coulson said, sighing.
May raised an eyebrow.
“What planet did these guys come from again?”
As soon as they were out of sight, Sigyn shifted into the spitting image of the woman in the flower dress.
“Buyer should be getting there any moment,” Coulson said.
“Ready to intercept,” Sigyn said.
Loki let his magic gently rummage around the woman’s purse, before finding the flash drive he was looking for her. He vanished it quietly.
An older man in glasses approached the disguised Sigyn.
“Do you have it?” he asked her. She couldn’t place the accent.
“Yes,” Sigyn said, imitating the woman’s voice. “But not now. Don’t want it too obvious, after all.”
“You don’t get your money until I get my formula,” the man said.
Sigyn smiled. “All in good time.”
“That’s it,” Coulson said. “They’re selling Centipede.”
Sigyn smiled at the man and stepped away.
“Would you like them taken care of?” she asked in her natural accent.
“Just plant the tracker on the woman and get out of there,” May said. “Once they figure out there’s no sale today, they’ll rabbit. We need to know where they go next.”
Loki summoned the tracker inside the woman’s purse. Sigyn made herself scarce, and shifted back before the man could find her. The woman spotted the man from across the gallery.
“I really must go,” she said.
“Of course,” Loki said. “I am glad that I could spend even a brief time with you.”
She smiled as he left, before looking for the man she was supposed to meet.
“Device is planted,” Loki said. “Sigyn, extract now.”
The two of them left quickly before anyone noticed and went outside to meet Coulson and May in the van.
“The whole team thanks you,” Coulson said.
“Of course,” Loki said. “Anything for our friends as SHIELD.”
“She’s on the move,” May said.
“Skye, you got her?” Coulson asked.
“Tracking now.” Another voice came through the coms.
“Want me to drop you off at Avengers Tower?” Coulson asked.
“If you could,” Sigyn said.
Loki put a hand on Sigyn’s thigh.
“You know that wasn’t real, right, darling?” he said. “I couldn’t possibly betray you.”
“Flirting with someone to stop a mad scientist from selling a super serum to unknown foreign hostiles is hardly betrayal, my heart,” Sigyn said.
She ran a finger down his tie, and leaned in close.
“But perhaps you can make it up to me anyways,” she said.
“Or I can drop you at the Shake Shack on 77th and Columbus and you can walk home,” Coulson said.
Sigyn sighed. “We’ll behave.”
“We will?” Loki asked.
“These shoes aren’t built for an evening stroll through Central Park, my heart,” Sigyn said.
“Very well,” he sighed.
