marcel nodded in agreement, the bright smile on his face seemingly painted there at this point. there was nothing that made him truly as happy as time spent with his family. the man laughed at sasha's exclamation. "she's just like her daddy. chicken is the best." he beamed sweetly as he set the menu down and turned his attention to kymber. "a burger sounds good. i'm glad our baby has good taste already." as soon as he finished speaking, the waitress came over to take their order. after letting sasha and kymber order their food, he did the same. once the waitress walked off, he sent a smile kymber's way. "what if i simply played hooky for the rest of the day?" he joked, never wanting to go back to work after spending time with his two favorite ladies.

she swore it were nerves. sure, it was a small wedding but that didn’t mean she couldn’t get nervous regardless of how big or small the event may be. kymber decided, despite thinking that she wasn’t, on taking a pregnancy test before she got ready that morning to walk down the aisle and marry the man of her dreams. to her surprise and excitement, the digital words popped up and let her know that she was in fact with child. and god, she was excited. thankful. relieved. and she wanted nothing more than to text him, run to his dressing room, or shout it from the rooftop but she held back. instead, she tucked it away and waited until the two of the said their i do’s and were in their hotel room before she finally pulled it out of her bag, “close your eyes.” she insisted.

kymber's main role since getting pregnant was to be a mom. she took care of sasha and then when romeo was born, she took care of him too. she rarely had time with her husband between him working and everything else going on, and she was beginning to miss being a wife. that's when she mentioned a date night and the two of them managed to get danielle and thomas to babysit for a couple of hours, despite the two of them having their hands full with their own kids. she still appreciated that they were so willing. approaching her husband once she was finally ready, she smiled up at him. "ready? is it bad i miss them already?" she laughed softly.

Some days, Colette wishses she wasn’t a witch. Her life would be so much easier if she were just normal. Of course, she doesn’t have a say in this. She’s not the best at making friends, preferring to keep people at arms length.

Despite all of that, her life was pretty much mundane until she met Wilder. What had started as one night stand had, somehow and against better judgement, shifted to something closer to friends with benefits. Of course, things fell to complete shit when he realized he was a witch and she learned that he was a weapons dealer for hunters. That should have been the end of it, but Colette had never been great with boundaries and a leftover spell, a sigil placed on him, had her rushing to help him after he had been hurt badly and left for dead. The amount of magic it took to save him and come close to killing her, but she hadn’t regretted it. Her grandmother got involved at that point, made the two of them forget each other. But some people are meant to know one another, for better or worse. That just so happened to be the case with the two of them. They met all over again and fell back into old patterns easily, but there was a nagging, uncomfortable sense of familiarity and when dug at, the spell came undone. Memory spells are not always foolproof after all. That had been the end, or so Colette had thought. She had packed up and left, not wanting her grandmother to find out either one of them knew.

She took off with her half-brother and his boyfriend, putting Wilder out of her mind as much as she could manage. Until he showed up on her doorstep asking for her help. She should have told him no, but Colette had promised him before that she would help him if he would “just fucking let her” and she wasn’t one to go back on her word. However, he hadn’t expected her to punch his ex, a high-ranking and awful demon, in the face. With no other options left, they ended up at Cord’s bar on a tip from the extended family of her cousin’s husband.

Given everything that has gone down, Colette cannot safely leave Cord’s bar. Even if she gave Wilder up, she managed to piss Azazel off all on her own and she's too stubborn to back down.

it felt impossible not to smile as she relaxed on the picnic blanket and watched marcel and sasha together. she’d been warming up to the man, even went as far as falling asleep on him and calling him dad. this was everything she could ask for and well, there was no way that she was going anywhere this time. “alright, alright. sasha, come on over here and finish your sandwich, okay? then you and dad can go back to your game of tag.” the little girl pouted but she didn’t argue. instead, she took her dad’s hand and led him back toward the picnic blanket so that he could join her. “and that goes for you too.” kymber teased marcel.

kymber knew that marcel did what he could to be there for her when it came to her appointments but unfortunately, he couldn’t come this time around and on top of that, she had to bring sasha along. it wasn’t like that was a problem but it was just that she had a hard time focusing on the toddler while checking on their son. either way, she knew she couldn’t leave marcel out and sasha insisted on going to see her dad at work, so she hoped he would be able to take a lunch break soon. walking in and spotting him at his usual station, she grinned and sasha let go of her hand to run toward him. “daddy!” she screeched and kymber followed close behind but obviously moved way slowly considering she was seven months along. “she insisted on coming to see you.” she laughed softly.

Kymber, Today makes 2 years since my brother, Brad & I's OD on synthetic Fentanyl. So, today has been a roller coaster of emotions. It's been hard thinking about it, knowing I somehow cheated death and you didn't get as lucky. How am I deserving of surviving and living this life I stupidly and immaturely almost lost and you were taken away by saving lives? It doesn't seem fair to me. It doesn't make sense. How is it that I'm still walking on this earth but you got taken from it? You had so much to look forward to and bring into this world and I feel as though I have nothing even close to offer it.

I guess I have to believe, I'm still on this earth for a greater purpose and I have to keep going on in your honor. I hope you guide me along the way, because the Lord knows you were my moral compass.
