This is a silly and rough doodle, but how about a acrylic shaker charm of a Kraata canister, with 3 different Kraata and one of the tiny square Rahkshi stickers inside just bouncing around? 🐛
I doubt that I even have the ability to properly clean this sketch up and to draw perfectly clean lines and shading on it, but hey it’s fun to imagine it as a real IRL charm 🤣

The Bionicle universe has so much potential...
With the Makuta as living clouds of Antidermis that can shapeshift as needed, who are consumed with greed that they eventually break from if they had not been slain by Teridax in his final gambit.
The Kraata as worm/snake/insects that can, over a short time, become as intelligent as any other being, and live in humanoid suits of armor that allow for significant power release, all of which were once parts of the Makuta
The Matoran, a self-Aware mix of biology and mechanical parts, all with sparks of magic at their cores.
And finally, Protodermis- the material that lets magic be mass produced and used to make wonders.
This isn't taking into account the maasive number of Rahi (biomechanical organisms), other intelligent lifeforms (such as the Skakadi, Bohrok, or Visorak), and machines (Vahki) that make that place home.
And now it's gone, only to be expaned by our fanwork.

Open Studio Series Ultra Magnus? Nah. I'll do something I haven't done in 15 years: Build a semi-original Lego set USING BIONICLE PIECES! 😅
Tumblr media
I named him Frank. He's essentially a modified Vorahk set. I used another Rahkshi's legs to give him elbow articulation and added fingers for good measure.
Tumblr media
I pulled the Shadow Kraata that came with Makuta to give to Frank since I don't have any Kraata-Vo anymore (long story).
Tumblr media
Since Frank's articulated fingers can't properly hold anything, I decided to make his Staff Of Hunger into claw-like weapons that can rotate on a Technic friction pin.
Tumblr media
It's a 50/50 split if Frank is going to hug you or attack you. 😅
Tumblr media
Close-up of Frank's hand articulation.
Tumblr media
Dude's in a mood.
So yeah, Frank's design isn't anything special, but this is the first time I've done any creative Lego building in well over a decade. I really should try to get back into this.

Another Silly Bionicle Thing I like is the existence of both Laser Vision and Heat Vision as distinct powers, even though they both seem to do basically the same thing, except the former is more damaging while the latter is slightly hotter.

I like to think that the Turaga used skills they picked up from the Rahaga during the great rescue to capture the Kraata during the Dark Time. They needed to capture dangerous creatures without killing them, just like the Rahaga did with the Rahi, so watching/helping the Rahaga probably gave them the trapping knowledge that would come in very handy with the Kraata hunts.

Okay, so after the Bohrok edition, how about the Kraata edition of “how fucked up is Bionicle?”
imagine you decided to cut a piece of yourself off. It would be pretty painful and weaken you a lot, right? But if you can get that part of you cut off to become alive and function as its own organism, then it’s all worth it. Then somehow, you take this cut off piece of you and find a way to transform it into a suit of armour. I don’t know how, but somehow you do it. Then, you cut off ANOTHER part of yourself, which will take even more of a toll on you and you just have to hope you didn’t do so much you couldn’t recover. This other piece of you cut off is now also alive and a new organism, and now it inhabits the new armour you created from the other part of your body.
So basically, you cut off a piece of yourself, it becomes alive but then dies as it turns into a suit of armour, and then you cut off another piece of yourself to become alive and inhabit the corpse of the old cut off part of you that became alive.
Great Beings, seriously, what the fuck???? The Makuta weren’t even just antidermis gas inhabiting armoured shells at first, they were physical beings like anyone else in the Matoran Universe. So they really were just ripping parts of themselves out and turning them into Kraata, some of which would become Rahkshi armour that other Kraata would inhabit. No wonder it was easier to make Rahkshi when they became gaseous, it would be far harder to rip out a physical piece of yourself.

So, a concept I came up with: Wearable rahkshi armor.
A genetically modified kraata thats used to make a rahkshi armor that can be worn by normal beings, and grants them the power of said rahkshi. It can be activated and taken off like a symbiot.

The Makuta Madonna
Tumblr media
The act of creation is said to bring us closer to the Great Spirit. But this mother of Rahkshi, this Makuta Madonna, is something far from holy. She cares not for her own life, only for the creation of more her "sons", willing to sacrifice herself - and be driven into madness - for the monsters she creates.
