Behind the scenes with Dorothy Perkins🌸 Earlier this year, we were asked to design the flowers for DP's UK advertising campaign which would be used in Print and across social media. Our brief was to create the flowers in typically Emily&Me style in soft neutral tones. Sam chose roses as they are typically used in most weddings and still have enormous appeal. To add a little texture, she chose berried eucalyptus and stocks. Using a variety of flowers gives a less formal look to hand tied bouquets. Emily&Me's talented florist Clare Webb created the flowers and tended them on the shoot in a beautiful private house in Tunbridge Wells. The weather was not kind! And the dresses were not warm! While the camera crew changed the lighting and gave instruction wearing their thick padded jackets and cashmere jumpers, the models fought back their shivers in the biting cold. In Britain fashion shoots are particularly difficult as shooting a campaign ready for Summer has to be shot in the coldest part of our year. Often designers and high street brands alike, decamp to sunnier spots abroad. We had to keep the launch a total secret (which for us was like being offered chocolate cake on a diet) until it went live in April. The campaign is going really well and the dresses themselves have been flying off the shelves. Dorothy Perkins loved our styling and Sam has been asked to write flowery pieces for their blog alongside photos of work from the Emily&Me team🌸
