28, 29, 30 🍇
Hello there! Thank you for the asks!
28. does your country have a lot of lakes, mountains, rivers? do you have favourites?
Yes, we do! India is a vast country with different geographical landscapes.
My favourite mountain I have seen so far is Stok Kangri, in Ladakh - the shape of the mountain is so pretty (another pretty mountain is Moon Peak that overlooks Dharamshala). I have seen Kanchenjunga from a distance in Sikkim, and it's a gorgeous ice wall. I want to do a trek where I can see the mountain up close.
youtube
My favourite river is Indus in Ladakh, this is where the name "India" comes from. Ganga becomes more and more polluted once it enters plains, but the rivers from the mountains (Alaknanda, Pindar, Dhauliganga, Mandakini, Bhilangana)that form the river Ganga? Outstanding beauties.
youtube
Also dearly love Periyar. :) it's the river you will see from the plane if you fly near Kochi, Kerala. It's a huge river and I was always so scared to try swimming in it because it's humungous. In my mother's teenage years, the river used to flood frequently and her family used to live on the top floor of the house.
Lakes? Hmm. I haven't seen any I like. But maybe backwaters can qualify? Love the Vembanad lake in Allepey.
youtube
I have heard Wular Lake is beautiful but I haven't seen that part of Kashmir.
29. does your region/city have a beef with another place in your country?
Where I currently stay? Yeah. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu regularly beef over sharing of Cauvery river water.
30. do you have people of different nationalities in your family?
Not at the moment, no. I am afraid to say that I am most likely to bring people of different nationality into the family.
I am not from US asks

as promised, for an audience of none: under the cut is a compiled list of my favorite 8tracks playlists, which I exported to Spotify several years ago during one of the many, many site shutdown scares. I know that 8tracks still exists, I just find using it unpleasant. Hopefully this has preserved some playlists for other interested folks that like this kind of thing :)
Many of these playlists are missing songs or cover art due to Spotify, 8tracks, or YouTube’s limitations, but I’ve done the best I can to maintain them as they were created! Playlists were not made by me, and the 8tracks users that created them are noted.

Munnar Tourism
Tumblr media
The Indian state of Kerala has the town of Munnar in the Western Ghats mountain range. A hill station that served as a former retreat for the aristocracy of the British Raj. It is surrounded by undulating hills that are peppered with tea plantations that date back to the late 19th century. Lakkam Waterfalls, trekking routes. And the 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak can all be found in Eravikulam National Park. Which is also the home of the critically endangered Nilgiri tahr.
The endless stretch of tea plantations and undulating hills in Munnar make it appear like a postcard. Many tourists adore Munnar, a fantastic vacation spot in Kerala. It is the most well-liked hill station, and honeymooners, families, and lovers of nature all favor it.
Munnar, which lies in Kerala's Idukki District, is responsible for producing some of the best tea and spices in India. All types of tourists can enjoy a variety of experiences at this must-see location. Getting here might be a wonderful experience as well.
Visit the Eravikulam National Park in Munnar to see the abundant wildlife there as well as the Nilgiri Tahr. Additionally, there is the family-friendly Wonder Valley Adventure and Amusement Park. Learn more about the top hotels, must-do activities, and popular tourist destinations.
Munnar also known as "Kashmir of south India".
Munro established the North Travancore Land Planting & Agricultural Society in 1878. Growing a variety of products, including cardamom, coffee, cinchona, and sisal.
It's interesting to note that A.H. Sharp planted the first tea plant here in 1880. James Finley & Company entered the tea-growing industry after a 12- to 13-year hiatus and acquired about 33 independent tea farms. Kannan Devan Hills Produce Company founded in 1897 oversee the regions with tea plantations.
Later, in 1964, James Finley & Company and the Tata group worked together. The partnership persisted until 1983, when the Tata Group bought out the Finley Company's whole stock and stakeholding. Following Munnar's tourism industry took off, drawing visitors from all over the world. The only change since then is an expansion of the tourism industry.

So, I've seen like nobody ever talked about the Trains in WoC. Thought maybe I'll shed some light on them too. These guys are way too underrated.
There aren't alot actually. I wanted to first talk and tell about these 4 trains:- Trev Diesel, Stephenson, Pramath and Muir
-> Trev Diesel:-
• His Bio:- Working for the Pacific Flyer Railroad, Trev Diesel has seen a lot of changes alongside his tracks. He's witnessed the coming of the North American Californian Interstate then the disappearance part of many of the small towns he somehow used to pass through, but he's still going strong. He still loves pulling a long haul across the North American desert at night throughout his outstanding railroad night shift journeys. It's so peaceful - just Trev, the full Luna moon, and the North American jackalopes.He has seen a lot in his time on the railroad, from the dawn of the North American Californian Interstate to the vanishing of tiny towns. Through it all, Trev chugs on strongly and loves nothing more than a nighttime trip across the desert, beneath the full Luna moon - the well-known one thing in Trev's life that remains constant.
Tumblr media
-> Stephenson:-
His Bio:- Stephenson is a state-of-the-art bullet train. On paper, he runs twice daily, from Kent to London, but in reality, he's a British high-speed spy train, who scrambles switchboards, hops international rail lines, and can make it from Dover to Porto Corsa in five hours. He has no dining car and no spare compartment because he's filled with the finest in high-tech, classified spy gear and probably has a few secret agents aboard. So don't bother waiting for him at the station...
Tumblr media
-> Pramath:-
• His Bio:- Pramath joined the Kashmir Railway to get away from it all. More than anything' this train hoped to find a quiet, remote place to live, and trekking through the Himalayas seemed the perfect resolution. He found the quiet rides through the mountain tunnels of the Pir Panjal range peaceful and therapeutic; that is, until he nearly had a head-on collision with Dusty Crophopper.
Tumblr media
-> Muir:-
• His Bio:-The Piston Peak Railway transports millions of visitors to the Fusel Lodge every year. This is a huge job, and it takes a big engine; thankfully; Muir can handle the challenge. With enough coal, he can pull an astounding 18,000 tons of railcars behind him! With that much power, he'll be coming around the mountain just fine. It is known that he feels sensitive whenever a wildfire occurs, especially when burning trees fall and block his path.
Tumblr media
🚆Thoughts I had/Headcanons I made:-
• In Trev and Pramath's bio, notice that both of them enjoy being alone and love quiet and peaceful routes. Maybe most Trains tend to have this in common with one another. After all, trains getting chances to socialize is low due to them only being able to move on rails.
• Trains are very caring and polite generally. But when you meet an overworked and tired train, its best to avoid doing anything stupid. Especially freight trains lmao, best to avoid them since they would be sleep derived most of the times.
• From not getting the proper sleep required for one to being overworked no matter what weather or circumstance. These guys are probably (one of) the most hard working vehicles in WoC, and they don't have a choice but to do what they are meant to.
• As a train, you really have limited options for, well, everything. Not much different from how much a ship has either honestly.
↳ But I'm sure trains wouldn't have stayed quiet. So maybe new facilities for them were introduced over time too.
• Trains are indeed very observant. They are pretty much attentive to every small detail around them in any matter.
• They are pretty much good in solving their own problems (since asking help is pretty difficult in most situations, i think this would be developed by most[?])
• They tend to easily adapt to one area.
• "What's sleep?" - said every frieght train (or those on tight schedules)
• Wants something? Literally works their ass off without thinking of asking anyone.
- i guess that's all my head is able to think of--
