It's been more than a year since I dragged my sister and mom to oddly specific places in New York City in order to get these photos. I gained a new appreciation for just how much walking (and/or taking the bus) Rosa must have been doing. And otherwise I would never have visited Grace Church, which is really beautiful inside.

Joey and Rosa my beloved <3
So I tried to do a sort of "city by night blurry background" but completely clowned on it. It looks a little christmas-y and has some fun Kirby Krackles going on so there.
A little behind the scenes: I am currently doing an art exchange with @cody-helix02 and I asked them for a drawing of Joey and Rosa because they would fit so well in their cute style. And after rambling to them for half an hour about my favorite games ever I felt inspired.

“Hey Red.”
“What is it Joey?” Rosangela looked up from her cup of coffee she was making.
“What do you think your life would be like right now if we never met?” Joey leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, as much as a ghost could.
Rosangela froze for a moment and gently set down the cup. “Is this like… Ghost depression? What’s with the question, should I be worried?”
The ghost let out a laugh, “No, no, Red. I was just curious. It just feels like every day is the same routine for you when we’re not saving ghosts.”
“Hm… Well… I suppose if you weren’t here… I’d still be making this cup of coffee right now.” She smirked at her friend as she resumed her coffee.
“C‘mon… You’re telling me you’d just be making this same cup of coffee? You wouldn’t be… Out partying with friends?” Joey returned a lopsided smile and floated over to be closer to Rosangela. "I'm sure you'd have a whole bunch of friends and you'd paint the town red every night."
Letting out a short laugh, Rosangela shook her head, "Oh my God, Joey, of course I wouldn't be doing any of that. I didn't even know Nishanti a year ago! And besides, I'd rather hang out at home. I'd have a lot of free time to work on my writing." She went over to her table and sat down.
Blowing at the coffee, Rosangela watched as Joey went to the opposite side of the table and lowered a bit, mimicking sitting, to match her.
Joey folded his hands under his chin and leaned forward, "So doll, tell me… Do you enjoy your time with me or do you prefer your time alone? And don't worry, I won't be offended either way." He grinned to his companion.
"Well, I guess I won't mind being able to sleep knowing there's not a ghost in my room. I could watch TV easier. My search history wouldn't have, 'what does this catchphrase mean?'." She looked playfully at Joey and opened her mouth to say more, but froze when she saw that he was looking dejected and was no longer making eye contact.
Rosangela shifted and cleared her throat, gaining Joey's attention back. "But… I would be lonely without you, and things would be boring if we weren't saving ghosts together. And if we ever wanted to, I'm assuming you mostly, we could play tricks on people, nice ones that is. Or you can do your party trick and I pretend to move things with my mind."
Joey smiled at his friend, "So Red… What's your preference?"
"I'm glad you're here Joey."
"I'm glad I'm here too."

Joey Mallone looks like a headache, even when he’s not watching her as closely as he does now, biting down his cautions and careful!s and stupid jokes about hotdogs probably not smelling half-bad. He tries to take the side of the sidewalk closest to the street, as though that would do anything, if a taxi jumped the curb.
He doesn’t like it when she pauses too long on the Queensboro Bridge and stares the murky darkness beneath, like she’s planning on following that poor suicide they just put to rest all the way down.
Like she really could do it.
Lauren doesn’t think she can. Physically, sure – but she can’t. Jack said she should come to the wedding. He’s sending an engagement photo of him and Maria; it might be there, when she finally drags herself home. What a wedding gift that would be – his sister, gone, and a ghost that won’t shut up about helping the dead rest moving in. Joey would kill Jack’s marriage quicker than she kills plants; he’s the most lucid ghost she’s ever met, but even he doesn’t seem to get what Lauren knows stone cold. Joey shouldn’t be a curse, but he is one.
