What do you headcanon for each of the skeletons jobs when they get to the surface?

Ooh I had to think a while for this one and I STILL couldn’t think of jobs for all of them lol therefore I didn’t do the horrortale brothers, sorry’

The skeletons’ surface jobs

Sans: My friend Joe is a teacher at a school for troubled children who’ve been kicked out of regular schools. You have to break up fights and be the voice of reason a lot. It‘s hard, but I think Sans would be good at it. If not that than probably some odd jobs and working at a lab.

Papyrus: Helps Frisk with their Monster Ambassadorship and is a motivational speaker

Red: Mechanic (something to do with handy work and physics)

Edge: Body Guard or a business man

Blue: Personal trainer or some sort of police officer

Stretch: He probably works at McDonald’s or something 😂 For real though, he probably works at a lab and has a YouTube channel on the side for ukulele or does freelance art

Black: Some form of police officer/guard/official, or a business man

Mutt: Tech/computer guy and he works from home. I don’t know the proper terms but whether a security provider, coder or even a hacker, it’s got something to do with computers!

First Impressions (Moonlight Cafe) Part 1

“welcome to moonlight cafe, can i get you anything? or would you like to sit in the corner and stare out the window like a weirdo?” He was a skeleton monster with pitch black eye sockets and a sarcastic smile. Despite that he was wearing the comfy brown and black colors of the cafe, and you could tell he had quite the bite to his personality. Taken back by his sudden snappy comment first thing in the morning, you managed to squeak out a reply, “Umm, what do you recommend?” It was definitely a mistake to ask that. You could see how his slit-toothed smile sharpened at the edges a little more, and his eye sockets lidded. Mischief rolled off him in waves and you were becoming worried about what he was going to suggest. “heh. i suggest the house special.” His smile only continued to widen with each word. “I-I’ll take that then.” It was more of a question than an answer, but you had already asked for his suggestion so it was too late to back out now – besides, you were dreadfully curious as to what would make him smile like that. “great.” He pressed his phalange against the tablet in front of him and turned it around for your payment before looking over his shoulder to the other skeleton monster mixing drinks. “hey joe. we’ve got another house special for today.” The taller skeleton, Joe, from what you’d guessed, turned around to look at the cashier, his single red eye light honing in on your smaller figure. He had a gigantic hole in his skull that looked like it had caved in, and his other eye socket was empty. Despite his already fearful appearance, it was his sharp grin that was the most unnerving. His semi-permanent smile quirked upward when he heard the cashier’s words, and there was a mischievous glimmer in his eye-lights. “alright.” He said in a baritone, slow voice before turning back around and going to work on your drink. You paid for your drink and took a seat in the corner, despite the teasing words that the cashier spoke tickling the back of your mind. It wasn’t long until your drink was ready, but when they called your name, you watched as another employee walked out of the back, horrified as you took your drink back to your seat. You could hear them whisper a soft “shit.” And hurriedly make their way over to you. “wait! wait! don’t drink that!” He wore black and white, a red scar on his cheek bone and a golden heart locket dangling from his neck that jostled when he nearly slipped on the wet spot on the floor. They probably needed to put a sign there. You had just lifted the cup to your lips but immediately pulled back as the employee came barreling towards you, stopping just in front of your table. “heh- uh…” he stumbled on his words a little as you stared at him wide eyed and worried that someone might have poisoned your cup. “sorry, about this, but i’m afraid i’ll have to take that back. i’ll make you a new one.” He was slowly coaxing the cup out of your hands, “Why?” you asked warily, but still handing him your drink. He gave a heavy sigh. “again, sorry about all this. i haven’t seen you around here before, so i’m going to guess that you don’t know that those two at the front like pranking the nervous newcomers.” You noticed his dirty side glance to the others at the counter, who did nothing but wave hello with wide grins. “So… this isn’t my drink?” “well, that depends. what did you order?” “The ‘house special’.” You even put the air quotes up to emphasize that you had no idea what you were actually talking about. He cringed. “seraphim, that’s even worse.” You heard him mutter. “alright, you know what – i’ll just make you a completely new drink.” “…Would it really have been that bad?” You asked with knitted eyebrows. “unless you like heated ketchup with a double shot of espresso and some whipped cream - then yes. it would have been.” You cringed just as hard as he had earlier. “Who would do something like that?” You shivered at the thought of drinking the concoction. “well they’re names are joe and drip, so… them.” “Joe… and Drip?” You rose an eyebrow at him. “Like… the coffee?” “yes.

and my name’s cortado.” You paused, holding a hand up to stop him and to show your absolute disbelief. “You mean you’re all named after coffee?” “yeah.” “Whose idea was that?” You couldn’t help the slight grimace that formed. “we don’t talk about that.” You could see a light sweat drip on his skull and the other two had averted their gaze with nervous grins as well. He cleared his throat and spoke again, “in any case, it’s nice to meet you. i’m guessing that you’ll be around here for a little while, so uh… i suggest you don’t order the ‘house special’ next time.” After all, it was made specifically for the tired Sanses who appreciated ketchup. “Oh yeah! Definitely won’t do that again.” You agreed quickly. “alright, let me make something decent for you. i’ll be right back.” And with that he took off toward the workstations again, leaving you with your thoughts until he came back with your new drink. If there was one thing you’d learned today, it was that the skeleton monsters who worked here seemed interesting to say the least. If there were two things you learned today, it would be to never order the ‘house special’ from the Moonlight Café ever again.

Moonlight Café Headcanons

“The bad guys in a coffee shop... well, at least they make good coffee.” - DW. C.

Bicerin (Nightmare Sans)

- The grumpy owner of the moonlight café.

- Tired Old Manager™.

- Constantly sipping on stale double shots of espresso.

- Doesn’t pay anyone nearly enough, makes everyone work overtime

- Tired AF, came here to take some time off but quickly realized there’s no escaping the idiots he has to manage no matter what AU he’s in.

- He started the shop to feed off the negative energy of the coffee addicts and tired workers/students who needed a coffee fix. He’s mildly regretting it.

- Doesn’t know if the bitter aftertaste in his mouth is from the negative energy from the customers walking in or if it’s his drink. Either way, it still gives him a nice, caffeinated boost.

Drip (Killer Sans)

- The assistant manager for some reason.

- Loves pranking customers but has since toned it down a bit after the authorities got involved several times.

- He knows Fresh pretty well, as he gets a lot of his trouble making materials from him.

Espresso (Dust Sans)

- “Ex” for short.

- Espresso Depresso.

- The only job he seems to be good at is cleaning – rarely does anything customer-facing because he has less than zero social skills.

- Also decent at counting money, tracking supplies and checking the books (accounts).

- Spends most of his free time in used book shops.

- Ironically, forgets to cash his own paycheck most of the time.

Joe (HorrorTale Sans)

- He is very thorough and careful, but slow.

- He’s still a Sans at heart, so he pulls the occasional prank, usually on the other employees, but sometimes on the regulars.

- Gets along with Killer for a change because they’re partners in crime.

- Doesn’t really like Error, so he’s the most likely to get pranked by him (besides Cross).

Latte (HorrorTale Papyrus)

- If he warms up to you, expect lots of handmade gifts, but never given to you by himself. Usually by someone else like Cortado or Latte and Coffee.

- He works on commissions as a side job when he’s not working at the coffee shop.

- Makes the chocolates sold at the cafe.
