Este fue el único storyboard que pude encontrar de Oogway dibujado por Jennifer Yuh Nelson

Obviamente no son capturas cuadro por cuadro y al final perdí el orden de algunas pero quise guardarlas porque me sirven mucho como referencias, es mi primera vez dibujando a los personajes y estos bocetos simples con mucha personalidad me son de gran ayuda

He encontrado unos cuantos de Po, Sr. Ping, Shifu, Li Shan, los 5 furiosos, Lord Shen y sus lobos, creo, y uno que otro personaje secundario

#i had the entire script of the second movie memorized guys when i say i like kfp i fucking mean it #i know the music beat for beat i could probably hum it along to every note #the sound design in both of these....immaculate #BUT THE STORYBOARDING. GOD THE FUCKING STORYBOARDING.#jennifer yuh nelson i love you forever #watching the 4th movie i was SO disappointed in the storyboarding #it was completely uncinematic!!!! and compared to the final fights in both movies the second movies and even the 3rd #the stage was so limited and not played with #it never felt grand and it never felt like the stakes were high enough #like it sucked so much ass AUGHHHGHHGHGH AND IT DIDNT HAVE TO #also the character animation???? also just not great????#like i LOVE how they did tai lung and tigress in the bridge scene ok #you have all the character motivation behind the way they hold and express themselves #and in the gongmen fight. po is just so SO well animated in all his idiosyncrasies #and the way he gets intense. and the way shen panics. and the boss wolf's turn. malding so hard over kung fu panda 4. this is the one movie franchise ive hardcore fixated on my entire life if you even care. we went from the second funny jack black panda movie being the most surprisingly emotional goddam gorgeous animated film about literal genocide, trauma, adoption and identity with amazing art direction for the 2D animated parts that makes you shit bricks for days because of how unexpectedly hard the lol funi slapstick jack black panda movie you just saw at the cinema went to awkwafina fox making a "i want to speak to the manager" joke

The Darkest Minds (2018)

While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...

Released in 2018, The Darkest Minds was way too late arriving at the party. This film doesn’t even remind you of The Hunger Games so much as it does The Fifth Wave. It's the clone of a clone of a clone and boy, the DNA degenerated sharply with each copy. Even if this picture could somehow get sent back to 2009 when it would’ve been fresh, it would've still been rejected. You can foresee every plot point way ahead of time, the characters are shallow and everything you could consider good has been done before.

After a crippling disease kills 90% of all children and leaves the survivors with superhuman abilities, the world falls to pieces. Placed in an internment camp with the other remaining teens, Ruby Daly (Amandla Stenberg) has used her powers to alter people’s thoughts/memories and avoid the fate of all level “Orange” children: execution. Escaping one night and joining forces with Zu (Miya Cech), who can manipulate electricity, brainiac Chubs (Skylan Brooks) and their leader, a hunk who can move objects with his mind named Liam (Harris Dickinson), they search for sanctuary in a world that hates and fears them.

The first time I saw trailers for The Darkest Minds, I thought it was a sneak peak at The New Mutants (2020) because… yeah, this is just The X-Men run through the YA dystopian novel adaptation process. You know what that means? Teenage angst in the middle of much bigger things first and foremost. The instant Ruby and Liam see each other, you know they’ll end up romantically involved. The dude’s handsome and he’s the leader - despite not being the smartest in the van - so of course while the fate of the world is at stake… these teens are busy making googly eyes at each other.

This is one poorly-written story. Ruby is in constant fear of being discovered. Both by country-roaming bounty hunters and her fellow teens. You think being able to throw bricks and logs with a thought is powerful? Ruby can alter minds with a touch and force anyone to do anything with a look. She’s so powerful… it makes the movie lame. Once she’s out of the camp, you never really feel as though anything or anyone should pose a threat to her. When she is in danger it’s because she’s not smart enough to use her abilities to their full potential.

The rule of thumb here is that your first impression is always correct. The antagonists are so flat and uninteresting the lame prom-like dance, the drama as Liam reflects on the way he was “forced to be turned into a weapon” by freedom fighters and the huge lapses in logic feel like a breath of fresh air. Before escaping the camp, Ruby was being forced polish boots. That seems like a bit of a waste. If I heard my son or daughter was sent to a rehabilitation camp for juvenile would-be superheroes and they were responsible for menial tasks, I’d be mad as hell. In fact, where are the parents? I know the kids are dangerous but you can’t tell me some of the couples aren’t thrilled to have a kid whose IQ skyrocketed overnight.

While we're asking questions, I have a few more. I know the world’s fallen to pieces, but why? I know children are the future but it’s not like adults stopped existing and now that I think about it, the film begins SIX YEARS after the plague began. Has no one been born since then? There’d be less people, sure, but the people left would still be there to make more? I know we’re not supposed to think too much about the backend of this story but you can’t help it. What’s in front is so dumb, so flat and predictable you’ve got to asks questions to keep yourself from completely losing interest in what’s on-screen.

Director Jennifer Yuh Nelson steals entire scenes from the X-Men films - notably one of the final moments from X-Men Origins: Wolverine (bad call). Everything about The Darkest Minds screams "forgettable" and its “see you next time” ending will make you laugh out loud. I suppose miracles do happen but I think everyone watching will know this is the first and last time we see this world. (On Blu-ray, May 3, 2019)

lately ive been going on a downward spiral into kung fu panda hell. i highly recommend checking out both the trilogy and the people behind the first 3 movies, jennifer yuh nelson is such an amazing person. there was a lot of work and love put into kfp.. its so much more than just a silly kids movie its geniunely an amazing franchise. to other artists especially, i really recommend finding behind the scenes videos if you can, its really amazing knowing just the depth of the care put into the creation of these films.

i wouldn’t recommend kfp4 though as it doesn’t hold true to the series (it’s not terrible but it is rlly mediocre), and esp looking and how it was produced, it wasn’t the same labor of love as the trilogy

That’s all my rambling.. i just have so much feeling abt this franchise…
